I really enjoy coming here for a relaxing night with friends. The staff usually provide great service, and the food is good. The flatbreads are delicious, but there are many good options. The chess club on Wednesday is a nice group of people, but the karaoke that starts later is pretty terrible. They always turn it up way too loud, so we end up moving outside. They had one good karaoke host who knew how to level the audio system, but every person before him and since have not given 2 craps if their service has driven people out of the bar.

Only one bartender/server on a Saturday lunch hour is a mistake. I understand wanting to minimize labor costs and maximizing tips but the service is way too slow if youre there to eat. The food is basically frozen stuff off the truck with little to no imagination behind it. I dont recommend eating here, but if you want to hide from your problems and do some day drinking Im sure its fine.

These people are crooks! Multiple times they ve tried to double charge tabs after people have closed out right in front of the staff as well as take people s cash and not give any change - then act like it didn t happen until the camera footage/police presence was requested. Edit: adding to this review a few months later - It has been getting even worse with the quality of service coming from Paige and others behind the bar as they are tip hungry service industry workers instead of people who s integrity is behind what they serve. Cockroaches on the floor and just totally unkept in many ways. All I can say is come see it for yourself.

Use to be a huge regular here. Decided to come have a drink on my day off across town. And wow this bartender Am bar B Monday 2:20pm is terrible order a drink and a shot she gives me my drink and walks away to get on her phone.. and I had to shout for her to tab me out because she is occupied sitting down and being on her phone. I get it. It s not busy but if she was more attentive I would have spent some more $. Btw I never got my shot even tho she repeated my order. Didn t even bother to ask for it she seemed annoyed.

Nice patio overlooking the street and dog-walkers. There is not a lot of air flow. It may need ceiling fans or an air moving system. The drink orders.came out wrong, and the tonic was flat. Bartenders were on their phones or huddled in the corner waiting to make drinks, conveying a less than party atmosphere. Left after one drink for a more festive atmosphere.

Do not bring a date here. If you go to the bathroom, multiple dudes often swarm your girl, like flies on ****, trying in vain to steal her or talk trash about you. My dates always tell me it s really creepy. These same guys will, oddly, often be unwilling (afraid?) to approach attractive single women sitting by themselves. Also, roofies are occasionally a problem here. Watch your drink. Have told several people who I believe one of the culprits is, so they re watching him and he hasn t been able to do it lately, but I still see him around occasionally. I like a lot of the bartenders, which is a testament to Rob, the owner, hiring good people (love you, Rob ). However, the blonde is moody and has attempted to scam me before. Watch out. Since I called her out on it, she screams at me and my friends randomly across the bar when we re just trying to avoid her, and she refuses to serve me or them, especially if they re female. It s really obnoxious, and, frankly, a little obsessive. A few of my female friends have just left because she made it so uncomfortable for them, a couple of them in tears. It s not ok, and I don t know why no one has done anything about this. Try to work with one of the servers instead if you re concerned about this kind of nonsense, or just go when she s not working. Rob s a good guy, and if you catch him on one of the nights he s working, he s always fun.

The Lion and Crown is always fun, especially on chess night (odd as that might sound). The food is surprisingly good, the staff is mostly friendly, and the atmosphere of an old English pub is interesting. The facilities definitely need updating though.

I rarely review, but I couldnt believe how turned off I was when I entered this place. I came with a group of friends in the early evening and the restaurant was not too busy. The volume of the music was outrageously loud. I couldnt believe how loud the music was, soul-piercing mind numbing volume. We also were never helped by anyone as we were trying to navigate the restaurant. The waitstaff were cold and were the opposite of accommodating. We unanimously left and took our business elsewhere. I understand that some people may like this environment, but its baffling to me that anyone would give this place service. I implore anyone that reads this review to come to this place and prove me wrong.

every time we get tap beer here the beer comes out gross. We tell them to clean/change their tap and they don t. There s a way to do old vintage pub vibes without having old disgusting furniture. I LOVE an old dive bar/English pub but something really needs to be done about the quality of this place. You have an A+ location and the quality of this place deserves less than 1 star.

Absolutely terrible experience. My group of six friends and I visited on a Saturday to have a few drinks. The bartender had only two customers on the patio and no one at the bar, yet she reacted very oddly to our arrival. She repeatedly asked what we wanted to drink in a manner that made us feel like we were bothering her. She also questioned why we had moved to a different spot and complained about having to walk over to serve us. Her bad attitude and the negative vibe made us decide not to spend our money there. The bartender, a woman, seemed more annoyed that we had interrupted her conversation with a man she was talking to. When we pointed out her behavior, she got defensive and expressed indifference about us leaving. This is a poorly managed establishment with a bartender whose attitude could drive customers away. It felt like she didn t want us there, possibly because we were black. Overall, a very disappointing experience.

If your looking for an English pub this is the place. Their food is awful. If you order something fried it all tastes the same. Old nasty grease! I had indigestion for 12 hours after my meal. Blech! The service is also horrible and they dont even have proper wine glasses. They brought out 2 glasses of wine in some horrible cheap glasses and both glasses received a short pour. Yes Im sure. Surprisingly great! Hole in the wall pub with games to play. We went from around 5:30-6:30 and it was quiet and not crowded for a Friday night. The food is priced very reasonably and made well (not low quality bar food but actually tasty home cooking like). Service is slow but good! Perfect place for a slow paced fun date night!

The Lion & Crown, located along Addison Circle was the perfect stop on a night out. It was mid-week, and the place was alive with people eating, drinking, and socializing. It was trivia night, and although the place was busy, there was room for more. The service was friendly and provided refills as needed. The food was served fresh from the kitchen. It wasnt sitting around. Whether you want to be part of the activity inside, or are looking for a quiet table looking out on the circle, the Lion & Crown is a good option for a quick bite, a drink after work, or a place to meet up and socialize.

I just walked out of this place. I was eating nachos and a giant, I mean, giant cockroach walked past my foot. I was so disgusted, stopped eating and stood up and walked to the bar. I told the server and she told me she doesn t usually work here and gave me the check so quickly so I could leave. I would never come here if I was you and definitely don t eat anything coming out of that kitchen. Management needs to train their staff on how to deal with customers being upset. Website said $12 for fish & chips, but we were charged $14.95 each for same. Came in & saw nobody for 10 minutes. Were about to leave when person came out of bathroom. Only the malt vinegar was mediocre, but that is Heinz fault, not theirs.

Awesome street tacos. Decent beer selection. I would probably avoid and cocktails however. Pool table, Darts, Chess and other games are available and they sometimes have bands playing in the evening on weekends for a good time. Could use a renovation, the pub is a bit crusty and definitely shows its age. The largest TV in the bar has broken backlighting and has been for years but they dont replace or fix it.

Went here for St. Pattys and we knew it would be crazy. But it wasnt bad, once we went to order our drinks the bartender was rude when we ordered cocktails and not beers i guess. He was annoyed to make margaritas, cranberry vodkas and vodka sodas apparently. We took our drinks and went outside to enjoy the night...but wrong he gave us margarita mix WITH NO ALCOHOL and cranberry juice basically. We spent $50 in this thinking we would have a good night but we lost the money and didnt even finish that so disgusted for a pub we used to go to do this to clients and scam them with JUICE. Do not go to this pub if you want to have fun and enjoy a good night.

The bar itself is pretty nice but this place has some of the worst bartenders Ive ever encountered. Ive seen other reviews complimenting the staff and after my experience that is absolutely mind blowing to me. It was some of the slowest service Ive ever seen and some of their actions made them come across as racists. When my black friend went up to buy a round he was the only one in the group they made pay for the drinks before they would get them. As someone that worked in the service industry for about 10 years l have never seen anything like this.

Great bar. Air conditioning doesnt seem to work though. Very hot. Kinda funny, on Wednesdays they have some sort of chess club for a bunch of nerds.

Nice bar providing a respite from the heat in the middle of the Addison circle commune. Nice beer offering, spacious and chill. A cool place to chill with friends. Nice waiters and waitresses tending to the business of their patrons. Food can be a bit salty sometimes.

We have lived in the circle for over 2 years and I couldn t be more impressed than Adam and Cesar. It feels good to come back to the pub and feel like we re on the cast of friends. Thank you for being such a welcoming bar, my wife and I are definitely becoming regulars. Praise to Adam for his customer service.

Second trip here and both times the food has been horrible. I got served a raw hamburger tonight. It wasnt rare, it was raw. The person with me ordered the Philly cheese steak and remarked about how it was not up to par. The atmosphere is fun and everything else seems to be okay but theyve got to get a better kitchen going.

I wish I took the time to get a picture of the burger I just had... So damn good! The bartenders are attentive and the atmosphere is inviting. There is a pool table, darts and couches to hang about. Nice outside patio for those inclined Bartenders awesome, gen z chicks psycho.. Had a blast with the locals. Remember, venue is good

Free atmosphere and its a bar that you can actually hear each other in. The beverages are quite good. The food is okay. Three of us tried different dishes and none of us would probably order them again But we figure well come back here and have some beverages and relax some afternoon and just snack.

We came here religiously with a huge group of friends every week. This place was the neighborhood bar where you could always run into a friend. Unfortunately, this place has really fallen below standards. Bar staff is constantly changing, food is sub par, and management on hand is rude to the staff they re bringing on. We don t come here so often anymore and it s sad to say goodbye.
