My friend and I visited this restaurant at her recommendation. Its a little out of the way for me living in south Fort Worth but let me tell you, its worth the drive! We arrived in time for our reservation @ noon and were promptly seated. Our waitress was phenomenal - attentive and very pleasant. We ordered a skinny margarita and a house margarita ($18 ish each) - both were absolutely delicious! As an appetizer, we ordered the empanadas - comes with 3 for $15 and you can add one or two more for an additional $5 each. I had the Chilanga Enchiladas - they were great! All in all, it is a little pricey but the food, drinks, service and atmosphere were well worth it. I will def be referring and coming back myself

We went in here this evening on a whim with our two kids. We were pleasantly surprised! The ambiance was moody and cozy. I loved all the textures of the decor. You could tell they put a lot of time into making it aesthetically unique. The service was also wonderful. Everyone was very attentive to our needs and our waitress was quick to offer recommendations. Im usually hesitant to order shrimp tacos because Im particular about the texture of the shrimp, but I wasnt disappointed! They were some of the best shrimp tacos Ive had. We will definitely make a return trip.

First time guest. Interior was unique - kind of a masculine Mexico / Texas feel with the brick, darker colors and cowhide. Soundtrack was really good - they played Becky G and Prince Royce. Queso was some of the best I ve had. Very smooth, silky texture and had good amount of flavor and spice from the peppers. Both salsas were also good. Chicken Fajitas had a nice flavor and homemade tortillas were fluffy & very good! Restaurant was extremely noisy! Suggestions: - provide multiple salsa bowls for each guest. We got one red & one green for a table of 3 versus individual servings. - have server ask if you ve eaten there & have server offer recommendations. For example, no one told me what the garlic butter was they served with the fajitas & no one suggested specials or specific options. Overall, I liked it & would go back

My husband and I wanted a different restaurant but the wait was obscenely long so we walked around the corner and decided to eat at Muchacho. We are huge Tex Mex foodies and typically stick to our favorites due to lack of new ones being edible. However we are so glad we did. The wait wasn t super long. The restaurant was clean and the patio was air conditioned. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. We ordered Tacos de Suadero and the Combo Juan to share. We weren t sure of portion sizes so we ordered a small queso first. From the start of dinner with the green and red salsa to the end it was the best food! We had a lot of food, way more than we needed. Each and every item we tried was just delicious. We will definitely be back and will tell all our friends!!

I just wanted to thank Carly, the manager that helped rush my catering order this morning!! I walked in and realized the person I ordered the catering order with the night before got my order all wrong. He scheduled it for 30 minutes after I needed it which would have made me very late to an important lunch meeting and he also didn t specify it as a catering order- he placed the order as a personal order of fajitas for 1 when I needed it for 15 people!! I met Carly and immediately knew she was going to handle it. She got it all done just in time and I was on time for my meeting with enough food for everyone. She even discounted my order for the trouble. Great service!! Thanks Carly!!!

Edit with update: We had the chance to go back to Muchacho- much better this time. Fajitas are where it s at!!!!! Loved the steak / shrimp fajitas! Guacamole was so good, our server Ryan was super attentive!! Hibiscus margarita was great, the prickly pear super super sweet. Honestly a little expensive but it s Southlake. 1 star food, 4 star atmosphere 5 star service. So much potential, great vibes, great drinks, HORRIBLE food. We all thought it was terrible. Shrimp tacos were 3 shrimp in a tortilla with onions, nothing else. Side of weird pickled carrots. Do not recommend. They need a new menu or something but I think a whole new restaurant would be better.

Dont think Ill be coming back here. Asked for side of guac and sour cream they charged $7, which they adjusted to $3. But, $3 for basically a spoon of guacamole is crazy. That made it $40 for 1 person at lunch. Other stuff: Extremely slow service. Waiter disappeared for extended periods and seemed slow at every activity. Place is nice, parking a bit hard but hey, its Town Center. Food was flavorful, chips fresh but portion small. And high audio level made inside loud for a lunch crowd.

Worse dining experience in a long time! We went on Mothers Day. My Son reserved a table for 9 days prior. They put us in booth designed for 7! The waiter was kind but due to his efforts to take care of us accidently wasted a whole container of Salsa down the back of my hair, dress and jacket! The Mgr came over and said looks like he got most of it off bring me a dry cleaning bill and I will pay it. No offer to discount or comp my meal...actually too insensitive for me to belive it. The food was just OK. So he inconvenienced me again for a return visitbwith my 56 dry cleaning bill. I will never go back. Horrible service and not accommodating at all. We didnt make a fuss, but I made a mental note...They dont care about Customer service! Too many good places in DFW to go get outstanding food and great service. Its a hard NO for me.

Enjoyed my chicken mole but thought my picky teenagers would be able to eat here and it didnt happen. Simple Guacamoli had pepers in it and covered in pepitas. When I asked if we could get a version with just lime and salt like the menu was told no by the manager. Other daughter didnt expect Cole slaw on her tacos, so she picked it off and didnt get the accompiments that were on the menu. Personally, I liked the food. But I wish the menue more accurately represented it and that the establishment was more helpful. I get that it is batch guacamole. When I was nice and asked if there was any way they could help me. You done have avacods lime and salt? Really? Kid-friendliness: Not great

FOOD INSTAGRAM: @northtx.gemz WHAT THEY RE KNOWN FOR: great Tex Mex food with two locations- one in Southlake and one in Dallas! THE VIBE: I felt like this place was pretty casual and fancy at the the same time. It s in Southlake Town Square so maybe dressing up would be okay? It s a western/country vibe place. Patio seating is available. PRICE: $45 + $10 tip WOULD I COME BACK? Yes! Overall Rating: 9/10 - Another Tex Mex restaurant to add to your list! I swear Southlake Town Square has great dinner places you really can t go wrong with! - These fish tacos were humongous. I could only finish 2 of them but wow it was so good. It definitely needed some hotter salsa/sauce or hot sauce tho I ll say. I loved the freshness of coleslaw tho. Fish was fried to perfection and not oily at all. - My mom s chicken fajitas were a great portion too. The thing that makes this restaurant stand out from other Mexican restaurants are their homemade flour and corn tortillas. The flour tortillas are SUPER soft and large. They are thin as well I hate overly thick flour tortillas tbh. Literally the tortillas will have you drooling. - Only thing I didn t like were the chips and salsa. The salsa was extremely salty with no flavor. - You don t need a reservation on a weekend night but it s still pretty busy!

While I rated this 1-star for the service, please know that this rating is for the front of the house, who was absolutely atrocious for the dinner we had on Friday night. Peter our server on the other hand, single handedly saved the night, but that doesnt excuse that outright pathetic service from the front of the house. Ill elaborate in my review below. Now when it comes to the food, Muchacho is great. The Ahi Tuna Taquitos are simply amazing and something you absolutely have to try. Weve been to Muchachos many times over the last couple of years and they typically dont disappoint, but after how badly our night started on Friday, 3/9/24, I felt compelled to leave a review so that the front of the house learns how to do their jobs properly rather than hurt Muchachos overall business. So Muchacho offers reservations for dinner which we typically take advantage of - and it was no different on 3/9/24. The difference this time around? The two women who were hostesses at the front of the house couldnt be bothered to do their jobs properly. Ask me how I know? Well, if you have a 6:45 reservation - not a walk in, not someone being added to the waitlist - but someone with a bonafide reservation, youd think you would be seated at 6:45 right? Explain to me how 4 different parties, two of whom had LATER reservations that we did, get seated and yet were still waiting in the front for our reserved table. When I ask these two women why other people are being seated ahead of us? I get this lame excuse about how certain tables have certain configurations - yet our party of 4 is somehow the odd configuration out of the bunch. But it gets even better.. these clueless hostesses decide that rather than admit their mistake and make things right, opt to seat us in the outdoor area at a table that wasnt cleaned and was missing chairs! Make that make sense! No apologies, no interest in making things right - just a pathetic attempt and sweeping things under the rug. What a joke and what a sad excuse for customer service when it comes to the front of house for a restaurant that sets the tone for the rest of the night. Thankfully Peter our server and Chris, one of the managers that night, did their best to right the situation. They moved us to a better table and Peter was awesome in taking care of us - it still didnt absolve the downright awful way that the front of house decided to treat us. I hope they see this review and use it as a training opportunity to get some lessons in customer service - Muchacho is going to lose customers if this is the kind of customer service people come to experience from the front of the house hoping that the servers or managers save them when they drop the ball so abysmally. You can have the best food and ambiance, but if the service is terrible, it ruins everything.

The green and red salsas are very tasty. The green salsa has a little kick, but great flavor. My entree was the rojo cheese enchiladas, which comes with rice and beans. The rojo sauce has a great flavor as well. I was so hungry, I forgot to take photos to post. The staff was very friendly and checked on us quite often, and the timing of serving our food was just right. Great atmosphere and interior decor. I ordered the smoked chicken, which was recommended by our server. He stated it was juicy and tender. The presentation looked amazing. However, the chicken was very dry from the inside, and the bed of onions assisted with the moisture and helped me to eat the chicken. The charro beans had a good consistency and flavoring.

A little too fast, I never know what I am gonna drink straight after I sit down, but thats just how that works I guess. The chips and salsa are great. Could eat these anytime. House red was to my liking, I suspect it was maybe Malbec? Chile relleno didnt wow me, fajitas had a mouthwatering char taste and juiciness to them. And to finish it with a sweet note, we had the pumpkin flan which was amazing. Covered in whipped cream. Fun fact: they have mouthwash at the restrooms.

My inaugural visit to Muchacho in Southlake Town Square was a flavorful journey. The two drinks we indulged in were delightful, and the chicken nachos, adorned with a unique touch of cauliflower, were a taste bud revelation. Although the portion size left me craving more, the combination was undeniably delicious. The service was commendable, if not outstanding, and the restaurant boasted a clean, inviting atmosphere. However, the experience took an unexpected turn when the bill arrived $60, inclusive of the tip. While the culinary adventure was memorable, the pricing seemed a tad steep for the overall offering. In my assessment, Muchacho earns a respectable 3/5 for its distinctive flavors and pleasant ambiance, albeit with room for improvement in portion sizes and pricing transparency. When we began our meal we got the guacamole for our chips and salsa. Bravo! Don t worry about someone s comment about not having table side guacamole. I m sorry I don t need pompous treatment to enjoy probably the best guacamole we ve ever had. It was very creamy and perfected blended! Next, Ken the General Manager greeted us and explained some great things on the menu. Ken played a pivotal roll in our dining experience even having the chef come to our table and explain the Octopus fajitas (which were amazing!) We also tried all 3 other fajitas steak, chicken, and jumbo shrimp. These were very unique with a nice Smokey flavor. Definitely a must try with their amazing hand made tortillas. We finished off our meal with literally the one thing YOU MUST GET when coming here the phenomenal Tres leches cake! As I end this review. I can t help but mention the wonderful atmosphere this restaurant has. Such a fantastic place for a weekend date night. Dimly lit and so cozy. It s definitely a place you don t want to miss while sipping on their fantastic house margaritas! Yum! A Foodie Best find in the DFW area. And they give Military Discount! Thanks for supporting our Veterans. Vegetarian options: They make it to order Dietary restrictions: They make it to order Parking: Parking garage near by if you can t find street parking Kid-friendliness: This is more of a date night spot. We tried for the first time last night, the steak tacos al carbone and the brisket sopes were amazing. This is more of an upscale restaurant than your usual neighborhood Mexican joint, so prices reflect that and you get what you pay for! Skinny Margarita and our server Devin was also amazing. We will be back for sure

Today 11/3/23. 6 months ago this was my favorite restaurant we went to weekly. Something happened a few months ago and the food has not been the same. We ve been back twice in the last 3-4 months but the food quality is terrible now. Their chicken tastes bland and chewy. Please fix or change back what ever you did. One year ago : This is our absolutely favorite Mexican restaurant. The food quality is top notch. My husband is a fajita man and out of all the restaurants in the area, these are the best fajitas. 6 months ago. Update: this is still my absolute favorite Mexican restaurant, everything is delicious. My only complaint are the paper take out boxes. Please either put foil down or invest in plastic containers, the paper ones suck.

Tried this place for the first time. We intended to go to another local restaurant, but the wait was too long for our party size, so Muchachos was able to get us seated all together. The atmosphere was fun and the staff were friendly and attentive. The nachos were a hit with our daughter and her friend. The Queso Fundido was really good. We added mushrooms and roasted garlic. The homemade tortillas were amazing. Some of the best Ive had. The Pork taquitos has a really good flavor. My chicken enchiladas werent bad, but definitely not the best Ive had from a restaurant. The brisket flautas were good. The green salsa and chips were really good. Chips had a good flavor and the green salsa had a nice spice to it. I didnt get to try to red salsa. My only real complaint would be the prices. I know prices have gone up worldwide, but the pricing here is a bit much for what you get on some items. Overall though, the experience was nice. I dont know if it would be a place I would just choose to go back to though.

Very nice Tex-Mex restaurant in Southlake. Menu items here are bit different from usual Mexican restaurants may be because of different region. We tried Picadillo empanadas, al pastor taquitos, pozole verde, chicken mole poblano enchiladas, polo perfecto which is mesquite smoked chicken. Everything was delicious. Service is good and staff are friendly. Ambiance is nice with good latino music.

We tried the new Mexican restaurant in Southlake Town Center, and was not very impressed. For one thing the $15 margarita was probably 6 ounces and overly limey tasting. That s a small one compared to most places , especially for that much $. We both had the lunch menu Beef Tacos and laughed about them tasting like Jack In The Boxes 2 for $.99 tacos. The chips and salsa were good, as was rice and refried beans, but how could anyone mess those up? Service was good, but it s not worth the high price. Maybe they do better on the high end more expensive meals at night.

The most important thing in ordering fajitas is that the meat is never over cooked. They do fajitas perfectly, medium rare. The meat is juicy and tender. My go to place for fajitas. They also have some really good mixed drinks. If you want your fajitas done right, this is the place. Dont bother with other places.

Muchacho is a must do when visiting South Lake, Texas! Located on the end of a beautiful shopping boulevard, this is not your run of the mill Mexican restaurant. The decor is very unique and lively, with iron rose stems as door handles to the long horned steer over the bar! The service by Michael was very friendly, attentive, and personalized. The margaritas were served with care and garnished perfectly, and so perfect with the right amount of tartness and sweetness. And the food was so, so fresh, authentically spicy! Loved this experience! Vegetarian options: Not too many options however, vegetarians can always find something to eat. Pescatarians have a few more choices here.

This is the BEST food my husband and I have had since becoming vegetarian. We got the cauliflower tacos and on a second visit we ordered the portobello mushroom fajitas. They were both phenomenal. The mushroom fajitas looked and smelled so much like steak we actually told the waiter they had made a mistake and sent steak out! The atmosphere is very warm and classy Texan, our favorite! The waitstaff and hostesses garb are original and very old school Texan, which adds a great deal to the upscale western refined ambiance. This will be in our regular rotatIon for family night out, date night, or a group.

I took my mom to an early dinner here at around 5 pm on 6/23. The restaurant was more than half empty. There were 3 hostesses at the stand when we entered. They smiled, but there was no greeting. When we said we had 2 for dinner. The one hostess asked if we had a reservation. We did not. She let us know she had a reservation for 615pm for the table she was sitting us at. Could we be done by then? The restaurant was more than half empty. I let her know that we couldnt make any guarantees, but we had other places to choose from within walking distance to eat. Also that we didnt plan on staying long because we planned on shopping. We got sat, and David took great care of us. We told him what happened, but never got a manager to come apologize for the rude hostesses. The waiter did ask which one was rude to us, and he did apologize that we could stay as long as we wanted. That they were not busy. When we left at 6 pm, the restaurant was still half empty. I dont know the hostess name, but if a manager reads this, she is about 5 feet tall with long black hair and had it up in a loose bun on top of her head. The other 2 hostesses were super nice and the one who sat us also apologized for the rude one. (Just my vibe, but looked like the other 2 hostesses were intimidated by her and didnt want to work with her.) Bad first impression of the restaurant. Food on par with Uncle Julios or Micocina. Places we have never had bad service.
