We had a great time! We went on a Tuesday so it wasnt super crowded. We also didnt try any food. However the drinks and service were really good. Ms. Kai the kj was so friendly and kind! She was a spitfire and it was amazing, she really made our experience so much fun. I will definitely go back and I would definitely recommend others visit if the make a trip to SPI

Went there on our honeymoon, absolutely loved the vibe! It wasn t too crowded when we went around 9pm, our bartender was really nice. It is a smoking bar which was a plus for my husband so keep that in mind if you are sensitive to smoke. The music was great and drinks were reasonably priced. Would definitely go here again :)

Been there for many years and let me tell you with the new staff (guy w mustache) and chubby guy which I have video of altercation was ínstense and aggressive towards me and my table which we did nothing as another party was next to us and for some reason they got aggressive with us as well and even broke a bottle at us. Avoid completely. Not the same anymore.

I originally thought this place was good. The atmosphere was nice, but they never let me use the karaoke (that is the main purpose), I dont know if it was because the song was in Spanish. The issue with smoke is excessive. I think they should urgently consider installing smoke extractors; its not expensive, its quick, and it solves the problem. Ordering a drink was very slow, and there was little staff. For health reasons, they need to review this place in general.

A group of us wanted to listen to a band we like who were scheduled to play there. I looked at the comments and saw several references to problems with smoke - I thought surely they must be out of date so I went to check it out. I only had to open the front door to know it is still a serious problem. Maybe the owners are making all the money they want. I admire someone who is willing to stand by their principles even if it costs them to do so. I d just point out that bars and restaurants everywhere complained when indoor smoking was going to be prohibited but, in the end their business was not harmed. I expect that Texas will one day join the rest of the modern world and ban smoking indoors. Coral Reef will likely still be a great and friendly bar and I ll look forward to visiting.

Well tonight was our SECOND night in two nights and night and day better than the PREVIOUS night with our Karaoke Host Kai. The OTHER Host the night before was a jerk! They had a Karaoke contest but after it was over I never got to sing as he kept putting me off, saying two more songs?? Plus I couldnt understand him very much with his British accent? So we ended up leaving. Tonight with KAI totally AWESOME though! Probably 10 songs so far!! I was told from another BAR that the other guy, Jeff was like that. So thankfully not here the 2nd night! Lol

The random conversations being had in this bad were metaphysics, spirituality, Angel numbers, football, love, disability, body autonomy, love and loss, dogs, camping, energy, tarot, astrology and karaoke and bonfires and travel and music all types from country to rock to Adele top 40 they played it all. I have a support animal and no one was weird about it. The parking is limited but there also street parking. Wheelchair access might be difficult because it is on a slope however a standard chair could access the side door if not the front door. Stalls were narrow and sideways doorways standard. They sell pizza white castles and the space looks older but its a great dive bar feel. It has the vibe of when Peggy Sue got married heroine Peggy Sue ran away with the beatnik she ended up there. I love it. Plenty of picture opportunities and sports music and memorabilia as well as meme worthy signs on the walls everywhere. The kj and everyone in the crowd was super sweet and supportive of both myself and my support animal. I wasnt questioned and interrogated about his paperwork either because who actually carries it around when we all barely remember to not forget our keys and phone to begin with. I loved this spot my tab was about 10 for 2 non alcoholic beers as micheladas. The bartender and the crowd has the humor of an army veteran the Ramones and Bohemian hippies made into 1. I literally met a gypsy a realtor a firr dancer and a couple from the Midwest and California who shared their stories about cancer related losses. And all these folks were the local regulars. The island itself has a very heavenly vibe you can see everything from every income bracket every country coexisting very lovingly and peacefully here. Love this spot. They have karaoke every night of the year and a wooden patio out front to have a smoke or enjoy your drink watching the star filled sky in the breeze under the beautiful palms.

Going jet skiing and kayak is a really fun. The drinks are good but can be expensive. Don t even try to Go go to the night club just know your going to spend like 70 dollars and to get a drink takes a long time. Literally my favorite place in South Padre! They welcomed us with open arms and treated us like family. Everyone was so supportive of those singing karaoke which made for a fun positive environment. First you should know this is a smoking bar. If you are bothered by that maybe you should go elsewhere. We first came here to enjoy the awesome bloody Mary s that we saw posted on Facebook. The actual bloody Mary s we got were underwhelming, but good. This place has entertainment and I can see that drinks are good. The service was very friendly. You could joke with the server. We do appreciate that. Definitely give this bar a chance, if you re not bothered by cigarette smoke.

Definitely not a welcoming place. The bartender carried an assertive tone when not necessary. I get that there is a supply issue but Were out of a lot of things should not be the go to response. While our order was being fulfilled the bartender proceeded to serve his regulars in between my partner and I. I get that the bar may be for locals but the bar is also located in an heavy tourist area. They might as well put sign up saying tourist not allowed. This place is definitely a local dive bar and has the best karaoke singers. I truly wish smoking wasn t allowed inside though. It was overwhelming considering most places do not allow indoor smoking. We couldn t stay long because we were hacking from all the smoke. The staff were nice and drinks are very reasonably priced. Unfortunately, the smoke bothered us so much we weren t even able to stay to sing karaoke. More ventilation is definitely needed.

Awful for people who dont smoke no ventilation every smokes there. They have karaoke all the time and a few pool tables. Place has never changed over the years.

Coral Reef is definitely a dive. Open everyday of the year with nightly karaoke, guaranteed to have an experience here. The bartender was friendly, and the crowd was . diverse, lol. Locals and tourists mixed. The cons: indoor smoking , and NO food. Not even cheap greasy bar food, zero food.

Met Barnacle and had one of his amazing drinks, I recommend the captain s destroyer whiskey drink. He provided excellent service. Met the owner and she was very kind, and down to earth. P.S. Barnacle had an amazing play list which made us want to stay even longer.

My wife sings there all the time, nice place. Went one night ,bartender was rude, and seemed racist. Had attitude with my wife, they ended up kicking us out bar. Watch out hispanic, mexican, people. Some people are racist but some are..Never going again

Place stunk like an ash tray, with maybe 4 people there smoking indoors. Wouldnt recommend if you prefer a clean smelling Bar.
