This place is AMAZING!!! Its a cozy neighborhood restaurant that doesnt attempt to be fancy or boujee in looks/atmosphere but DELIVERS with high quality, DELICIOUS food and drinks. My husband and I took our 3 kids ranging in age from 20 down to 5 years old and everyone got something they loved. Brunch menu is top notch and wide ranging...so theres something for everybody. Priced very reasonably as well. DO NOT skip past this place.

Stoner fries - pork belly tough, chewy, and tasted freezer burnt, fries were so cold they didnt even begin to melt the cheddar cheese. Nothing seemed very fresh. Hot wings bone in with traditional buffalo - Over cooked, dried out, hardly any sauce on them at all, ranch dressing is not dressing, its dip. Worst wings Ive had in 56 years. Nashville hot chicken sandwich - Over cooked, dried out, seasoning was bitter and stale tasting Temperature in building was wayyyyyy to hot. Other customers were fanning themselves and complaining about it as well. Extremely loud atmosphere Im really starting to distrust Google reviews, if just a few reviews had led us to believe this is how it might end up, we wouldnt have went. Really angry I wasted my hard earned money and a night out with my wife here.

We love coming for the Mac and Cheese and was sad to find out that the Mac and Cheese is not available for lunch on Saturday. The menu states that it may be possible but we were told it s is never available before 3pm. I had to pivot to a brunch item but was not happy with the Backyard Omelette as it was pretty bland and steak seemed a little overcooked. There was not much on the brunch menu for our gluten free friend. I hope you could stock some corn tortillas for burritos or some gluten free sausage gravy. Dietary restrictions: No gluten free menu available.

I have lived in Seabrook for most of my life and have never heard of this place. I wish that I heard of it sooner! I had lunch here today and it exceeded my expectations. The food was spectacular, the atmosphere was electric, and the service was awesome. Not only did they have a banger of a playlist but the decor gives you a nostalgic feel. Do not pass GO! Do not collect $200.00 and dont take your butt to Kemah or Seabrook without eating at the Backyard! The Stoner fries, Mac and cheese, the chicken fried hamburger!! Youve never had perfect pork belly until you eat the Stoner fries. Every piece was cooked to succulent, tender deliciousness. My right eye is twitching thinking about how amazing the Stoner Fries were!! The Nutella Chocolate Cheesecake is one you wont see coming!! Not to mention the 22 year old Bar tender that provides customer service with an owners enthusiasm and witty sense of humor! Very impressed with his attentiveness and desire to make your visit an experience! My one regret is that I ate too much at breakfast and I couldnt order more off their menu at lunch!!!

Everything was great but literally everything we ordered was SO SALTY but my husband liked the salty pickles and burger but I got a super salty wrap and when I told them about it (I had literally only taken two bites) they couldn t take it off the bill or trade it for something else. Asked for a hamburger, got cheese on them. When I asked to remake, they cut the burger in half to cut off the cheese, and I still had cheese on my bun. Then I got attitude the remainder of the time, wouldnt refill my tea but did my brothers. Then the cook or bouncer came and sat and watched us finish eating... Im writing this review in the parking lot after our first visit. This place is an amazing little spot off the beaten path. Our server, Christian, was very good and kept us laughing with his dad jokes. The food was very good as well. I had the breakfast bowl while my wife had the 2 egg plate, and we each had a Mimosa flight. The portions were great for the price, and everything was seasoned very well. Weve been having a stressful time trying to buy a house in the area, and Christian made us forget our worries for the hour or so we were there. We will most definitely be back.

The service gets better Everytime I have dined here (approx 5x). Server/barkeep, Shelbi was very attentive and efficient. The Mimosa Flight was grand as well as the Classic Cheeseburger. Liked this place so much that we returned for a second time. Thats not something I do when Im on vacation. One shot is usually all I due to so many options. The vibe was so cool and relaxing. I am not sure that they would even care if I was in my pajamas. The bartender made us feel at home and like we were part of the family. He was full of energy when we were exhausted from the day. The food was very generous and so good. The classic loaded baked potato was the very best Ive ever had. Real thick bacon on top. Cooked and served in a small cast iron skillet, filling the whole area. The drinks were also good and service was top notch. Everything is also made from scratch. They never once got flustered with all my questions and indecisiveness. I promise you wont be disappointed. Tell Christian I sent you! He will take the best care of you.

A super fun little spot with oversized portions of mac and cheese and the friendliest staff. When the guy behind the bar noticed we needed refills he just jumped right in and got us taken care of without us having to ask. He engaged our teen boys and treated our little ones kindly. The *only* con would be that it was a little too warm in there, but not so hot that I wouldn t go back. Overall, no complaints. I usually like to eat really healthy but I thought I d give this place a shot because my fat demon was coming out. the food there was decent nothing special, but not bad. I actually liked it. The service on the other hand was Butt Duck Terrible but with an F. don t get me wrong it was probably just the lady that we had the nice gentleman walking around was actually very friendly and made me feel at home but this lady maybe it s because I m younger looking or didn t order any alcohol so maybe she thought I wasn t even gonna tip her I ll keep you informed that I always tip 25% but she never came and checked on us barely wanted to talk to us or explain the items and she made my time there suck so the bill came out to $29 and I left a good old $30. In the end, it s nothing personal maybe I should ve invited the lady out for a good old fashion fist fight instead of paying the bill she wasn t rude. She was just bad at her job. And that s OK not all of us are supposed to be good at stuff. So I will rate this restaurant three stars nothing to do with the food, but the service and also the tables were sticky on my forearms.and for the nice young gentleman who kept saying hi give him a raise.

Disrespectful staff. Used multiple racial slurs and fowl language during my visit. I stopped for a beer at the bar looking for a nice atmosphere. Nice inconspicuous spot. With outside seating and a 21 + deck. Lots of tv views. Took a minute to have a server at our table but we just grabbed a couple cold ones from the bar. The QR code for dogital menu didnt work on the outdoor table but they looked like theyd been wet and the ink bled. We dined inside at the bar top and were given pretty good recommendations from the staff. The teamwork was obvious and made us feel welcome and comfy. There was an awkward moment when the bartender stepped away and a child between 9-13 years old came rummaging around behind the bar looking at printed guest receipts and scooping ice into a cup. When i asked if he was allowed to be hanging out back there he very confidently replied yeah then explaining he could be behind the bar because hes the part owners son. As a TABC certified bartender my initial thought was that the part owner should know better and has a lot more to lose by such disregard to the rules and the responsibility required in order to own a bar. The first one being only 21 and up behind the bar, ever, but especially during business hours. It irritated me and we skipped ordering any dessert. Its a good thing im just a patron and not a tabc cooperative looking for violations by license holders. The chicken fried steak with mashed and gravy was good. A little modest in size but priced well. Definitely prepared down home style like your Mama made. The bacon wrapped sausage was burned to my taste but the pickled jalapeno jam was unique and a nice flavorful touch. It almost made the burnt bun edges good but not for me. The backyard burger and fries were tasty, but it didnt really stand out from any other burger Ive enjoyed. Well definitely eat there again if in the seabrook area, but I dont see any special reason to go out of my way for a 2nd visit.

We went for brunch today and it was great! They were totally slammed and you could tell they were a kind of overwhelmed, but everyone was friendly, professional and apologetic, which is all you can ask for when a crazy rush comes in. I love The Backyard but havent had time to review them before. Im honestly posting in response to a couple of negative reviews I saw here about todays crowd, but when we arrived and saw it was crazy busy, we had the decision to stay and wait where to go somewhere less crowded. For us we were happy to wait with drinks and our food did take a little longer, but was awesome as always. The restaurant cant pick when these things happen, but the fact that they were this busy is just a testament how delicious their food is and how popular they are! See you again soon :)

My family and I were visiting friends in the area and ended up at this place by accident. Soooo glad we did!!! I have eaten my share of comfort food before but not like this. The mac & cheese is incredible. First off it s huge. (Good luck finishing it all) Second the flavor and texture were awesome. I love mine with a bit of broiled crust on top and that s how they make theirs. I d have to say this dish is better than mom s home made. Sorry mom. Went there on a Wednesday shortly after opening. It was empty, and I was concerned the food wouldnt take a while & taste good. I ordered a cheese burger, and my wife got the pork bites & wings. The burger was juicey & tasty. An old-fashioned burger, exactly what I wanted. The pork bites had some kind of Korean BBQ taste (sweet). Will definitely go back again.

Absolutely loved this place! The vibe was perfect, very light and relaxing! Hubby and I came for brunch. Our server was Rae and she was awesome, very attentive! Hubby had the chicken and waffles and I had the crawfish Benedict, both meals were excellent! Rae had the task of picking the flavors for our Mimosa flights and she did perfectly! Came here to have a few drinks and the bartender Jayla made me the best drink Ive ever tried! I definitely have to come back To see her! And The manager Shelbi is absolutely amazing, checked on me multiple times and made sure my visit was good! All the staff is so attentive and caring! Tried out a new spot I heard about in Seabrook, and wow. The scenery and the staff were very nice and welcoming, even the master chef came to check on us and my unusual request. The #CrawfishBoudin balls were AMAZING!!! Also had the #NashvilleHotChicken on #MacandCheese bun, yum! Kudos guys! They also had N64 to keep the kids occupied, WHAT!? Hubby and I ate brunch here on a Sunday. A waiter came to get our drink order pretty quickly and brought our drinks out quickly. Got our food order quickly, but after that, there wasnt much service. I dont remember anyone coming by to ask how the food was. We had to ask the food runner for refills because our drinks had been empty a while. But everyone was very friendly. We ordered a bloody mary flight and it was delicious and worth the 24 bucks. I think one was bbq, 1 was spicy, 1 had garlic, 1 was regular (I think. They werent labeled and Noone told us so Im going off what I tasted) we thought the food was pretty good. The potatoes couldve been cooked a little longer. A little bit pricey for the amount you get in my opinion. I would like to go back and try the lunch/dinner menu. Hoping servers are Normally more attentive.

Food was AMAZING but the service was slow and not good at all. I ordered the friend pickles and pork belly bites and omg! Phenomenal! An the portions are massive. The mimosa flights were good, sad that the max and cheese is not available during the daytime. I will be back and hope to have better service so I can add bump the review to 5 stars. I ve been wanting to come here for almost a year. Today was the day and I m so glad we did! We ate inside near the backside windows. Seating was comfortable and so was the temp. Not too cold or hot. Our server was also one of the chefs there. So it was nice to get some food recommendations catered to what we told him we liked. We ordered for 7 people. The Strawberry Gimlet was smooth and hit the spot. Their Bloody Mary original flavor was really good. My husband had the smoked Old Fashion and he said it was even better than the one he gets at his favorite distillery in Austin. Tacos were a perfect flavor. I am so coming back on Tuesday for that taco flight! Shrimp Poboys were flavorful and they made one without the bun for my picky eater. She devoured it all. Backyard burger had an interesting fun taste. Kids menu items were good quality chicken and they didn t skimp on the portions either. We played some cornhole on the way out in the back, so that was fun for the kids before the drive home. Overall it s a great place with quality food and service. Bonus we got a heart shaped fried pickle with our appetizer! Very cool!

Where do I start?!?! ..... We sat in the back near the kitchen and bk yard windows. It took our waitress a minute to come. So, when she did we ordered drinks and food at the same time. After the 1 quest and myself placed our order we said thank you and she walked off. The 3rd quest was still looking at her menu, but wjem she noticed the waitress walking off she sje tried to stop her by saying maam . She wasnt very loud , because she didnt want it to seem like she was yelling. We ended up getting her attention as she passed a go to the kitchen. When the mamosas came we asked about the fruit dat comes on them. We was told that they was out, and the boss just went to make a groceries run. It wouldve been nice to be informed that the drinks wouldnt be coming with any fruit, because this was our 1st time and we came based off the beautiful pictures we seen on-line. But aye, we didnt make a big deal, because the were good. My chicken bites was cooked in old grease , and fried soooo hard that I could believe someone would actually think its OK to serve someone , and sent it back. The kids meal hamburger was the smallest kid burger I ever saw, and the patty was over cooked. They should call it a kids slider. The fried pork was overly cooked, and the egg on the benedict wasnt runny and bread hard. None of the food had any type of flavor nor seasoning. When she came back to let us know theyre recording the chicken bites, my cousin stared to ask for some sauce and she walked off. When she came back to go to the kitchen the guess stopped her to let her know she has walked off from the table twice while her party is trying to get her attention. She apologized and said she was by herself and busy. When seating in the back u notice a lot of odd things. Like, cooks and works from the back some with waist aprons on coming from out of the kitchen going out back to smoke then walking back to the kitchen. Only thing a could think of was I wonder if yheir washing their hands every time they come back in. Out waitress said she was the only one ( Which I believe) but she was also stepping out to chat as well. She did take the chicken bites of , which I appreciate. We decided to be adventurous and try something other than our usual go-tos for an early Friday night dinner. Tucked away just a few blocks off of 146 in Seabrook is this hidden gem, The Backyard. We sat in the back room near the kitchen due to a private event that was coming in later. While it would have been a little too hot to sit outside in the yard, we hope to come back when the weather is cooler to enjoy this space as it has an extremely relaxing and inviting vibe! We started with the fried pickles (pretty standard FP) and the pork belly bites WOW, the pork belly was spectacular! We had our two kids with us, and the oldest ordered a bacon cheese burger, and the youngest had a kids burger. The bacon cheese burger was juicy and full of great flavor. The kids burger was fine, a little small, but it was cooked well for a kids burger! My mom ordered the brisket baked potato, and it did not disappoint. My husband had the wings and tacos, also delicious. I had The Backyard burger, a unique but extremely enjoyable and satisfying combination of flavors!! If you havent already, go check this place out! Well definitely be back! Parking: Parking was fine for an early dinner on Friday. I could see it getting harder to park close the busier it gets.

Great spot for Saturday brunch before an afternoon of sailing! I had the crawfish cakes benedict; it was perfectly cooked and so unique! Grits on the side were creamy and smooth. I asked for a mimosa and the server suggested a flight of 4 different flavored ones. Mind blown! I had never heard you could make mimosas with anything other than OJ. It happened to be my birthday, a difficult one thus year, and I was definitely lifted up by this wonderful meal. The chef is working on adding some new dishes to their already extensive menu so you must get down to Seabrook and check out this fun and funky place!

Absolutely amazing place! Food was fantastic, atmosphere was fantastic, drinks were fantastic, service was fantastic! We had some running around to do and have a new puppy so we needed a dog friendly spot. We didnt want something that was just an umbrella table on the sidewalk. We ate at 2pm, when it was 95 degrees outside and the patio was great! We didnt break a sweat, the server brought us water for the pup and the fan on our table was the perfect touch. My husband and I chatted the entire time about how we need a spot like this closer to home (Mont Belvieu) and it would absolutely be our regular spot. We had the Elote mac and cheese and boneless wings in Buffalo and Honey Burboun. All of it was to die for. Im not even a Mac and cheese fan and this stuff was awesome! I hope we can make the trek down here more often!

Seen this restaurant came across my Facebook page. So my husband and I and another couple decided to go for Sunday brunch, best decision weve ever made. The pork belly bites are to die for . The eggs benedict where amazing and the omelet was cook was perfectly cooked. The bloody Mary fight off was so much fun and so was the Mimosa simpler. It was also nice to find a place that served an amazing espresso martini. The Backyard has become our new brunch place. We cant wait for the weather to turn cooler to be able to enjoy the patio. We are new to the area and wanted to meet our kids for a late lunch & they chose The Backyard. It was small and quaint and we were greeted as soon as we walked in. We started with the avocado bites, Truffle Fries and the pork belly bites, that were both delicious. Everything about this place was just special, we met some of the owners, our server was amazing, very attend I mean I can t think of a negative thing to say about This place, everyone was so nice from the cooks to the dishwasher as soon as you walk in you can feel the good vibes all over the place. Love the vibe. Plenty of parking. I ordered a Sazerac cocktail and bartender poured Sazerac Rye on the rocks. When I pointed out the cocktail on the menu and told him what was in it, he admitted he wasnt familiar, looked it up and made the cocktail which was okay but too sweet compared to other places Ive ordered. For food I ordered the Texas Wedge which was really disappointing. It was supposed to be grilled iceberg with pico, smoky jalapeno ranch and bacon. What was served was a half iceberg head with very little grilling looked like it was on the grill for maybe 2 seconds, pico but the dressing tasted like regular ranch, no jalapeno flavor or bite and def no smoky. My friend had a dirty martini and shrimp tacos both of which she liked She has been there many times and has tried other food that was good. Theyre known for Mac and cheese but Im not into a skillet of that for a meal. Id go back for drinks (not ordering a Sazerac).
