The guy had a built-in intercome it was unbearable On the other hand, Id be more than happy just to tip the guy cleaning table gorgeous Jonhnny Back to the rubbery fajitas Runny refried beans Blan rice Watery lettuce I asked for con question questions He brought melted Blick cheese And told me this what you get you didnt order the loco one Which was cheese Beans and pico .no where near what I asked for I asked questions, and he demanded what he said The men where working that day with 2 women, and it seemed no one wanted to be there employees talked amongst themselves loudly The only ones working was the guy behind the drink despenser and the 2 women and I believe his name is Johnny the handsome table cleaner Not the tall skinny loud abrasive dude which was rude Yeah we are not telling anyone to go eat there ever again Just stop in get a drink and tip Johnny Its worth the drink

I would rather not even leave a star for this place. We just tried to eat here with a party of 10. We were told 25 minutes and handed a buzzer. With in a minute it goes off. Went to the front desk and was told not yet. Walked back out and it goes off again this time we were seated (half the party was here, the other half 5 minutes away we thought we had 25 minutes). I was carrying a car seat and not one but two servers made me move to get out of their way seeing that I had a baby. We were seated given chips and then a worker told us if our party wasn t here we had to move. We explained they were 5 minutes away. She walked away only to return and say the same thing or that we can order their food. We said we would order their drinks. She returns and says no we need to go back out until the full party is here. We won t be back.

I have Celiac disease, which is an allergy to gluten and causes small intestine damage if gluten is ingested. I called and ordered 4 tacos on corn tortillas, which is safe for me to eat, and got home 20 minutes later to find all my tacos were on flour. I called the restaurant and explained the order and why I couldn t eat it and the lady on the phone said I would have to talk to the cashier. She put the phone down, not on hold, and left it sitting there. After a minute or so no one picked up the phone receiver so I hung up. I want Herbert s and anyone in the restaurant business to please check your orders. People lives depend on you doing that! It takes a couple of seconds to make sure the order is correct. I am not being picky, I just want what I ordered to not make me sick because someone didn t check the order.

Guacamole taste like a plain avacado. Ground beef was worse than my elementary cafeteria. Taco salads just in a bowl no shell. It is not a taco salad if there is nothing crunchy. That is just a salad with meat. Ate at another local place that is just down the street much better choice. Skip this place and just go to Taco Bell atleast the food there has flavor.

Well we were famished and who isnt after a rigorous day out and about and breakfast sounds good. Unfortunately our short haired wait staff couldnt get out four simple tacos from the kitchen and couldnt afford to check into it so waiting was very irreconcilable. I would like to be asked if there would be another item available but not to go unnoticed for 20 min and have to go find another another soul to get a response. And being offered a excuse was not well with attitude as with canny ridicule. All I asked for was a simple order not the schematics of a NASA launch. The food was not hot and I forgot what I ate but that speaks for itself. No thank you. And I didnt ask for or a refund but then again heres my review.

The service was nice but unfortunately did not make up for the food. I ordered cheese enchiladas but received chicken which didnt pair with the red sauce. Everything was way oversalted and worst of all, the food wasnt even hot. Barely warm which leads me to believe it wasnt fresh. Overall experience? Not impressed enough to return.

Parking: Plenty of space to park all around it. Best Mexican food in the area. Have been going for over 20 years. The beef enchiladas with gravy is the best ever out there. We suggest this place if driving on hwy35 after Austin before San Antonio even nest down in San Antonio s restaurants. Go try them out. Go a head and make it a waiting for a table means good sign. Yet it will keep getting early dinner due to them being so busy. We take all out of town visitors to eat there. BEST FOOD!

Why would a place have on the menu thatsomething comes with your plate of food but charge you extra if you ask for it on the side instead of on top of your food? Then not give it to you at all and still charge the regular price? Sad the way this place takes advantage of the customer. Definitely NOT worth the reputation...service AND food! I Should have gone to TacoBell. There they at least treat their customers with respect! What made Mad was the server tried to blame the cooks!!!!! Used to love Herberts until I realized how unsanitary they are with their prep. I dont give af how clean you think you are, you should not be handling food with your bare hands, which is what the guys in the kitchen do in plain site. As I waited to pay, I watched a 300lb guy preparing food with his bare hands, grab a handful of shredded cheese, then lettuce, then tomato with his disgusting hand, and proceed to wipe it on his APRON!!! Now, Im a pretty fair guy, but that is disgusting and the fact that the owners allow that to happen so casually is a huge red flag of a restaurant that is run below standards. I regret giving Herberts my business for the years I did. I made the mistake of going back there tonight, and thats exactly what it was, a mistake. Herberts has no dishes that theyre well known for, mostly just combination plates of slop, refried beans, rice and enchiladas that are mid at best. All the awards on the wall are 20-30 years old for their midgrade salsa, or just for the fact that they have a decent lunch special. Menu is basic. Servers are good. Quality is poor and the prep is disgusting and an absolute joke. I hate to say it.. GARCIAS IS BETTER!!!!!

Loved their cheese enchilada plates, crispy tacos, chalupas, queso, etc. They make the best flour tortillas and the best beans. As far as Im concerned everything was good/tasty... great-grandmother said she was not eating very much but when she tasted her food she practically ated ALL up

Love coming to Herberts. Once we sit down and order like 5 min later. Our food arrives hot and smelling like heaven. U have to try the Herberts dinner special. 1 taco 1 chalupa and 1 cheese enchilada with rice and beans.
