Aloha My wife found this hidden Gem for us. We were in the Austin area for a work related trip, and activities were limited for night excursions. We were blown away by the beauty, and calming energy of this unique place. It is something out of a fairy tale. We had the opportunity to have Martin as our guide. He was a true pioneer!!! He navigated us like the expert that he is. His knowledge on the river was easily understood, and we felt like this adventure would become a forever memory of Texas. Totally incredible experience. Martin Driskill was our guide for our tour. This was our first crystal kayak experience and we loved it! Martin showed us different nighttime wildlife, discussed the ecology, history, and wildlife of the river. We learned so much and had an amazing time doing it! We would totally come do this again. The glow boat night tour was amazing, we managed to be on the tour with the bats flying out from under the bridge. Our guide Ben was very engaging and knowledgable. He did a fantastic job. Saw bats, fish, turtles, birds, and even a raccoon. (Pretty sure the raccoon was a paid actor.) Thank you very much! We ll be back.

My partner and I did the 10:15 pm tour with Chris. We overall had a great time. The water isn t too deep. I felt safe and it was a beautiful area. He provided lots of details about how to paddle and steer the boat. He gave us the history of the river and informed us of the plants and the fish. It was a super simple and fun date. If we go back to San Marcos, this would definitely be on the list!

We selected Paddle SMTX because of the 5 rating and number of reviews; it was the BEST CHOICE! As soon as my group approached the van, Leah kindly greeted us and gave us our life jackets and paddles. Leah has such a calming voice and chill vibe. It was awesome it met by such friendly people. Martin, our guide, gave us a quick kayak 101 class then we boarded our see-through bottom kayaks for the trip. The trip down the river was calming, beautiful, and fun! The trip back up the river, we paused 3x for Martin to share his knowledge of ecology, history, and much more. This is a must do activity! Amazing experience all around and great for beginners. We will definitely be back to do this again.

Let me start off by saying I have 0 experience in kayaking, but they teach you step by step what to do. It was one of BEST experiences of my life! So worth every penny spent, the water is just beautiful and crystal clear! You could see all the big and small fishes Ben was the best tour guid I mean he explained every little thing and kept us informed the whole way! He made sure no man was left behind. He was just the cherry on top to the whole tour honestly, it was like talking to a family member he kept the conversation going with all of us. Going into experience, I was not sure what to expect but Abby was extremely helpful from beginning to end. She had great energy and help keep us calm, especially when we almost tipped over. I would love to do it again. My family and I enjoyed this experience. Thanks to her.

We did the night glow tour. Our tour guide pointed out birds, raccoons, ducklings, and a spotted gar along the route. She also suggested places we could check out in the area. It was very relaxing.

The night tour was awesome - we saw lots of wildlife such as a deer, raccoons, turtles, snakes, fish (of course) birds and even a beaver! Ben was fantastic, really knowledgeable, patient and fun

Citlali was AMAZING as a tour guide, we had a truly wonderful time with her on the river! We saw lots of wildlife, got very informative details about our surroundings and the history of the area, excellent careful instructions to help us navigate in the dark, and an appropriate pace with mindful breaks for our less experienced group members to keep up comfortably. Absolutely a six out of five star experience, our group was all adults but older kids would have a blast with this for sure. The equipment was great, the stretch of river was peaceful and fun, and we will definitely come back to do this again! First timers: Wear clothes that youre comfortable rowing in and dont mind getting damp with river water Bring towels and a change of shorts BUG SPRAY!!!! Water bottles are a good idea, remember all single use plastic is banned from the river so go with a reusable container Only people who can swim are allowed to do this but you still have to wear a life vest at all times, dress with this in mind Use the restroom before you arrive, the bathrooms are not guaranteed to be accessible and are pretty funky (according to other people in our group)

My husband and I did the glow tour on 5/25 and it was a blast! Martin was our guide and very knowledgeable, helpful and calm. Libby was working too helping check folks in and she was hospitable, chill and positive! Both were super friendly. We plan to be back with our kiddos.

Celebrated my birthday/Mother s Day with my family. My nephew is 13 and my dad is 74 and all ages in between. We filled all 6 kayaks (12 spots) on Shawn s tour. He let us take our time. He pointed out bat s living in the bridge cracks, turtles, birds, raccoons, snakes. The kayaks are clear so you can see the fish underneath. I ve kayak before but never at night. Great experience! Birthday to remember.

Sean was a amazing guide, he was informative and made us laugh all throughout the river, my wife and I truly enjoyed being able to paddle through the San Marcos River at night, it was a good team building moment for us and we had to work together to get back upstream! I would recommend this for people who are thinking about it.
