*** UPDATE I developed SCOMBROID fish poisoning from eating here! I knew the fish was bad. DO NOT EAT HERE. Ate here for a birthday dinner and everything tasted so fishy. I love seafood but it was not good. Oysters were undercooked, fried fish was undercooked, and fried shrimp were cold and tasted bad. I also got the pecan pie dessert and it came out scalding hot. I genuinely was not expecting a hot dessert, and the server did not say anything about it being hot. The plate was cool and the pie was room temp on the outside. I burned the entire roof of my mouth because the filling was like molten lava. So disappointing, will not be back.

It is a very nice place almost on the seashore. The business is quite large, it seems that the best places are outside. Although in hot weather it must be a little uncomfortable. The service was quite fast and our order took about 15 minutes. It wasnt crowded when I was there. There is a lot to walk and see, always towards the sea. Dont worry about parking, its quite big.

First time here. Was craving seafood and a view of the bay. We asked for a seat with a view so we could watch the boats come and go. Service was prompt and pleasant. The food was very fresh and large portions. The calamari was excellent as was the coconut shrimp, fish platter. The coleslaw was different but really good. We would easily go back when we are in the area. Very affordable day out.

I went out for dinner with 2 other couples August31st. I ordered 4 appetizers and 2 dinners. The appetizers were excellent as was my wifes salmon meal, I ordered grilled shrimp and scallops. I took one bite of the scallops and my mouth was on FIRE with some kinda spice, I asked my friend who likes spicy food and she even could not handle it. I called the waitress and told her about it. Needless to say my my meal was over! She took it back to the kitchen, and returned and told me they mistakenly put chili flakes and the food was smothered in it. So I asked for the same meal to go. My bill for my wife and I was 124.00. Just so disappointed not even a bit of compensation. I just know I will not be going back there. Even a free drink might have changed my mind about the disaster of my dinner. Well I ate my take home meal for lunch today low and behold my over spiced dinner I returned had 4 shrimp and 4 scallops, the one they remade me had 3 shrimp and 3 scallops, what a slap in the face

Its a great place for friends and family. The bar drinks were fantastic! Well be back. We love all the appetizers! My wife loves the fried shrimp, and my mom loves the popcorn shrimp. Deanna was awesome to a group of 5 rowdy gals who ordered many different, particular drinks, lots of appetizers and lots of food. She let us talk and visit but kept checking in. We shared stuffed mushroom caps, crab balls, shrimp cocktail and stuffed Jalapeños and then ate grilled shrimp, fried catfish, fried oysters, Caesar salad with shrimp and fried shrimp. The crab balls and jalapeños were my favorite and half of us took food home. She wins the prize for patience and personality. Every time I ve been to Topwater it s been a fabulous experience! Exceeded expectations. Catfish and shrimp were perfect. The hush puppies are the best I have ever tasted. The sautéed vegetables were not cooked long enough but that may have been my fault whereas I substituted them for fries. As Topwater has expanded seating and grown in popularity over the years they have lost some of the original luster. Crowds have grown, service time from kitchen to table has slowed, and mixed drink quality has declined. However, wait staff is still good and attentive. Our party of 8 all felt cheated by the mixed drink quality, but our server took care of it. When our dinner order arrived it was good and well prepared. We left a generous tip. In summary we will still occasionally visit, but will likely order beer before and with dinner as weve lost some confidence in the bartending.

I don t normally leave bad reviews but took my dad to Topwater for Fathers Day because he has always wanted to try the place. Upon entering the establishment, the Hosts were not very friendly and once seated we noticed there was a fly issue which got worse once we received our food. Didnt care for the batter that was used on the mozzarella sticks or fish. Other than that, the fish was good, but the shrimp tasted very ocean like and smelled rotted. I could not finish my food. We let the waiter know but he lacked compassion regarding the matter and didnt seem interested. My knife was also dirty. The place was nicely decorated and had a view of the water which is nice but that is not enough to want to keep us going back. For what we got at that price, we do not recommend.

Im not a big seafood person, but we bring a family member here to get his fix of shrimp and raw oysters. I had the boudin stuffed pork chop (pictured). It was pretty good. The green beans were a bit bland for me, and I was so focused on the boudin that I didnt bother to touch the mashed potatoes. I liked the pork chop with boudin, but it wasnt actually stuffed; it was just on top. The family member who wanted shrimp and oysters said that the first shrimp cocktail he got he didnt really enjoy... there were some black spots on it that looked like pepper (which, apparently, isnt good). We asked if he wanted to send the shrimp cocktail back to get a fresh one, and he said no. The second shrimp cocktail was better, he said. He also ate 2 dozen raw oysters, which he loved. I should have checked the patio to see if we could get his wheelchair out there, but we sat inside because it was hot out. Wheelchair accessibility: Unsure about the patio but definitely can access the inside.

Had family in town and brought them to Top Water for late lunch after a visit to the Space Center. We ate waterside on their adorable swinging bench tables. The breeze was great on that 90* day. Our Po boy was overflowing with delicious crispy shrimp, grilled mahi tacos were delicious, the lobster bisque was 10/10, and the Malibu coconut shrimp were HUGE! Called ahead of time to check how long the wait was. The owner answered the phone and stated the wait was only 10 min. Drove all the way from Pearland and the place was packed! While waiting in line to put name down for a table...several other people stated they were also told the wait was 10 minutes. Our wait was 1.5 hours! We were all so pissed off. I asked to speak to the owner and stated I was not happy with the dishonesty. He said he didnt lie because they have tables for just 1 person and there is no wait. As I am looking at all the tables...there was not one single table available. Next...while sitting in our car waiting for the next 1.5 hours...we decided to call and see if they were still telling callers that its only a 10 minute wait. This time another person answered and he said the same thing...just a 10 minute wait. Called back again and asked for the wait of 5 people. Again...just a 10 minute wait.THESE PEOPLE ARE LIARS!!! Dont believe anything they tell you. I CANT BELIEVE THEY THINK THIS IS APPROPRIATE!

Most of the food was really good but the coconut shrimp wasnt very coconutty. Our server was amazing! Thank you Tanya for being attentive, super friendly and patient with us!! Kid-friendliness: My nephew enjoyed the swinging tables and the view of the water and all the birds. He also loved his chicken dinner and ice cream dessert

We have been there for my wive s birthday and had 1 table with 12 adults and another table with 6 children. The food was awesome as usual however the server on the adults table was a little lost and we felt she was in a hurry for us to leave. I still giving a high score based on our previous experience , we believe it is a pontual issue.

Food was cold, service they took forever. The server kept walking back and forth, the server knew we were waiting. We were this close to get and leave. Knowing can t leave the customers waiting no more than 10 minutes waiting. It s all right
