Staying at Embassy Suites, which offers Range as their in room dining option. Ordered food that took over 1 1/2 hours to be delivered. Appears server wrote down wrong room number 108 vs 801. Since it was wrong room, food sat in restaurant and delivered after I called to check on it. Hot food was ice cold, salad was swimming in water. Server apologized and asked for credit card to charge me. As I complained and told her I didnt want awful food, she offered to hug me. What a horrible experience for

This was one of the worst experiences. Their food was too spicy. Their service was not well. And I had to pay $22 for four shrimp that we could not eat and the Italian ice drink we ordered taste like bitter seltzer water. I cannot and would not recommend anybody patronize this facility. They could have told that they would not charge us for something we didnt eat or couldnt eat due to the taste and spice. But they did not. But because Im an honest patron I went ahead and paid the $22 for the meal we did not eat. I dont recommend this place as I stated earlier.

I m really disappointed with this Place because my Family and my friends went to San Antonio for Vacations but The Manager and the waitress of this Place turned it into a Nightmare. My Friend and I ordered a Well done Ribeye Steak and there were like a piece of Carbon I kindly asked the waitress to replace them for a good Ribeyes but after a couple minutes the Manager appeared with a not really good manner telling me that he can t not exchange our Ribeye because we asked for a well done and they were well done and if he replace them we must have to pay for them. my answer was that why do I have to pay for something that it was not eatable. He said that if I was refusing to pay he was going to call the Police then all the kids started to cry and no body finish their food and my Friend told me that he was going to Pay PLEASE SEE THE PICTURES

Here tonight for Lobster Fest. Save your $$$. It was horrible!! The first course was supposed to be risotto. We got rice with broth. Gross!! The lobster bisque course was the best course, but I would only rate it a 5 out of 10. The main course was not good, lobster was tough over cooked and salty. Had to send back the dessert course because the cheesecake was room temperature, almost warm and we were not going to risk eating it. Cocktails were also average. The plus, our server was fantastic!! I m done with Jason Dady establishments!! This is our third disappointment with his restaurants.

Food and service were bith fantastic, but... beware of cost is. Portios when it comes to appetizers. Much more laid back atmosphere than the cost suggests. 3 people, zero alcohol, 1 shared dessert = $205 before tip and parking. The food is phenomenal, though. Kiddos the the kitchen staff; the chef needs a raise!! Highly recommend the Filet minion period. And dont forget the Tescan potatoes that come to every table are just the cats meow and the dogs powwow. Only wish theyd serve a little more. Parking: Plan a walk of 2 to 8 blocks if youre dining on the weekend

Despite the 3.9 rating on Google (and against the advisement of Embassy Suites staff) I thought I would try this restaurant because we were too tired to venture out further for dinner food. I ordered the Casarecce (pasta dish with cauliflower). Raquel, my waitress, asked if I would like to add a protein (shrimp, chicken...) I thought it would be great to add shrimp. I expected about 10-15 small shrimp and to pay no more than $10 AT THE MOST. Raquel brought me FOUR small shrimp on a skewer for $15!!! Thats almost $4 per shrimp!!! My original pasta dish that was only $17 is now $32 because they added 4 little shrimp. When I brought the price to Raquels attention her only response was that food prices were not her fault. But isnt letting the customer know the price of the upcharge that YOU suggested your job?

We sat outside as the April weather was perfect for it. Staff were polite and the food was really good. Our party of 4 all ordered something different and we all enjoyed our meals. Its maybe a little overpriced and service was very slow (which is a common complaint in reviews). The restaurant wasnt busy as we dined earlier at 6pm as we had older people in our party, and we all commented on the time it took to seat us, bring drinks from the bar and food to arrive. Maybe they are taking staffing issues? The drinks were however a decent pour and we did enjoy the experience overall.

The Tuscan Beef Bolognese was bland and lacked any resemblance to a real pasta Bolognese. The pizza Margherita was overcooked and I think Queen Margherita was rolling in her grave. Then to top it off we ordered the ricotta cake. Mistake! It said on the menu ricotta cake with orange and almonds, but it was a dense lemon cake with a weird whip cream on top and fruit around the sides topped with what we think were peanuts. Overall advice would be to stay away and save your money. Finally to the restaurant, read your menu and if you cannot serve the public what is says then change the menu or the chef.

This restaurant has experienced a continuing line of bad reviews and im going to be one of them too. The food temperature was not good, the meat was not cooked well, the food presentation was not great for the price. The dessert was decent but thats it. My guess is they are struggling and need a change of management. Its not horrible but man, it is not worth the price. Spend your money elsewhere if youre going somewhere this expensive

The Margherita pizza and cherry tomato cucumber salad were divine. I would return for these items. But, the filet mignon, was just really horrible. If a steak flavored salt lick existed, I imagine that the filet mignon at The Range is what it would taste like. Aside from the salty flavor, the steak was tough, dry, and some bites seemed to have a slight fishy taste as if the steak and salmon were cooked in the same pan. The crispy Tuscan potatoes also had a surplus of salt. Service was friendly, but a bit sluggish considering we dined at a time when the restaurant was nearly empty.

I am not sure where to begin, other than I would not recommend this restaurant. SERVICE - Simply put amateurish, wait staff dropped their trays on three different occasions during our meal. When food arrived from the kitchen staff wandered around the tables trying to determine where it belonged. Once at the table, they had to ask who each meal belonged to. Waiter was not attentive, did not check on our meal until after 10 minutes. FOOD: Every course was bad. The salad had an excessive amount of cracked pepper. The overpowering pepper made it inedible. Our steaks were overcooked, gray and dry. My wifes filet arrived with the string still wrapped around it. Green beans were not snapped....are you kidding?

She was very nice. Lighting too bright. Forget romantic dinner, too loud. Salmon, green beans, and cauliflower were really good. Half chicken too dry. Potatoes that are served with every entree are too over seasoned. No bread is served with meal unless you pay for it. Our waitress couldn t tell us what we were paying for so we passed. When we arrived with our reservation, it took 20 minutes to get out table ready..which when you are downtown, its normally because you are going somewhere afterwards. The entire restaurant smelled like smoke and had a haze. Also, while seated, there were at least 4 tables around us that never got bussed. I feel bad for the waitstaff, they look exhausted and overwhelmed. The food was good, not worth the high price, but it is downtown. The calimari is mixed with zucchini, which is quite deceptive and made with corn meal..which is a unique choice. The Bolognese was good but cold on the outside and warm on the outside. If you want bread, you have to pay per a piece...and it comes charred, but good. Crispy fried brussel sprouts were bitter and not crispy at all. The pizza was super thin and not too bad.

This afternoon we ordered our food at 6:05 pm. No food, no updates for over 45 minutes. Then we inquired and still nothing. Not even salad. Finally by 6:55pm the bartender told us they would pack it to go but said the food was ready. It was not. It took another 15 min (so over 1 hr after ordering) just to take our food to go and stick it in the car. No food before the show. I understand mistakes occur. But someone should have updated us, apologized, or something. It was awful and I dont think a good representation of what Jason Dady wants in his restaurants

Wow what a bad experience!! I am a huge Jardin fan so I thought this sister restaurant would be a great idea for Christmas Eve dinner. WRONG! They sat us in a horrible seat, in the corner, away from everyone, by a door that was open to the outside. The waitress was nice but the service was horrible. It was not her fault though how could service be good when she has 10 tables?! They ran out of bisque by 6pm so I had to get an inedible salad that was obliterated by pepper. It then took us over an hour after our first course to get our second. It came cold and was clearly sitting around. The third course came out about three minutes after starting our second course. All the vegetable were colder than the second course!! The desert was hard and tasted stale. For almost $200 I expect WAY MORE! Save yourself some money and go to McDonalds. At least you will get hot food!

Terrible service. They sat us down right away. They took our drink orders, and they took about an hour before we got our drinks. And took even longer to give us our food. They didnt even give us everything we ordered. I had ordered a margherita pizza . I asked the waitress when Id get my pizza and she lied, told me it was still in the oven. But then she came back to ask me what I had ordered because they forgot to make it. We told them to not make the pizza after all and then they made it anyways. I only ate 1 slice before I got full and I was sick most of the night. I would never come back. The waitress didnt even seem apologetic for her errors. The manager did try to reconcile the terrible service by comping our food but after getting sick, it wasnt worth while. They even offered a free dessert in addition to comping our food, and we waited for that but we never received it after another 30 minutes of waiting so we walked out. The restaurant wasnt even that busy to warrant those waiting times. Many of the staff were just standing around. We were there for about 3 hours before we got our initial food order.

Overall, we really enjoyed this place for dinner. The service was a bit slow, but they seemed backed up with a huge Saturday evening rush. Dinner was excellent, and the attention to detail was apparent in the plating. I had the tiramisu, which could have been better. Seemed like it was not assembled to order as the ladyfingers were soaked for way too long in espresso. I would recommend the fritto misto, a really good appetizer. Also, my daughters filet was cooked perfectly and probably the best I have tried in a while. It would have been nice if the tables were a little more intimate. They seemed close together and seemed a bit crowded. Its definitely worth coming here if you stay at this property. Just be sure to make reservations for the weekend.

The bread was all burnt. The green salad was so salty. Never had salty salad before, but this was so salty that I could not eat it. The greens must have been soaked in very salty water. They took my salty salad away and after a long time, finally brought a different salad. It was OK but the bread in the salad was also burnt. For the main, I had risotto with some shrimp but the shrimp were all burnt to black and could not eat them. I felt like eating burnt carbon for dinner. The chef must like to burn all the food he makes. The risotto was so plain. One of the worst dinner I ever had.

I was less than impressed by the food. The fried calamari was stringy...every bite. Im not sure what thats about. You can tell its breaded fresh, but the stringy thing ruined it for me. I had the half-chicken, it may have been cooked, but the skin was too rubbery. It could have used some more cooking. I only ate one wing and took the rest with us. I doubt Im even going to eat it. I might, but itll need more time in the oven or to have the skin removed. The food, main meal, came just minutes after we started into the calamari. Youd think theyd give you time to enjoy the appetizer before your main dish arrived. Maked me believe the food was sitting in warming trays waiting to be served. Im disappointed, especially for a restaurant that can charge better than average prices. Cotton candy was the best part. Oh, but that didnt require kitchen skills. If invited to go again, its a hard pass. Parking: This restaurant is located inside a downtown hotel. No one parks for free downtown. The parking lot in front of the hotel isnt cheap. Try to grab a street meter if you can. Theres a city parking garage (most reasonably priced) about 2-3 blocks away at the corner of St Marys street.

In my 50 years of life, I have eaten many steak dinners. I can confidently say, without reservation, that Chef Jason Dady created a savory masterpiece for me on 9/4. It was almost a religious experience. Thats a pretty large compliment to back up, so let me get right to it. I am a fast eater. That trait comes from my military background. Once I pick up my eating utensils, I dont put them down till the food is gone or until Im full. I dont even set them down to take a drink of my beverage. The filet mignon Chef prepared for me practically melted in my mouth. The seasoning covered my lips with its savory punch and made me want to lick them after every bite. I literally put both my fork and knife down after each bite in order to pause and savor the full flavor. Anything less would have been an insult to the meal itself. I would take a drink of water after a bite or two so I could minimize the existing seasoning on my palette and re-experience the decadence of the next bite. The asparagus? Rarely do I enjoy this vegetable. What Chef made was undeniable. I had to consume every single stalk. Petite Filet Mignon, asparagus, peach Italian soda, and water. To call this a meal is actually insulting. It is 100% an experience. And for the money? You wont find a better deal. Its taken me 50 years to find this one.

My Wife and I made a reservation within an hour of closing so my expectations on the service were not high. However, we were in love with Raquel and here beautiful personality and great food recommendations. We had the truffle park fries and calamari for an appetizer. The fries were ok (hand cut would have made them pop). The calamari was DELICIOUS! It was cooked to perfection. Very tender with just the right amount of texture and, the batter they used was seasoned just right. My Wife had king Salmon, I had the ribeye, we shared a plate of potatoes, and we both had the Brussel sprouts. The salmon was flaky, flavorful, and moist. The ribeye was tender and cooked exactly like I like it. Both meats had a beautiful and tasty sear on the outside that locked in the flavor of the food. The Brussel sprouts were great with a tangy sweet flavor. The food as a whole is just bursting with flavor and it was the best meal we ve had at a restaurant this year. The Sous Chef Zack even came out to thank us for coming in. We were blown away by how good the food was considering how close it was to closing. The strawberry cheesecake should be considered a national treasure it was so good. Thank you all for an outstanding experience.

Our waitress was wonderful Raquel went above and beyond serving my husband and I. Truffle fries w/ garlic aioli was delicious, calamari was cooked to perfection. I had the king salmon and it was like butter in my mouth and my husband had the ribeye, can you say cooked perfectly just like he asked. We both had the Brussel sprouts because my husband said he wasn t sharing, which were crispy and delicious. For dessert we had the dolce strawberry cheesecake it was a crème brûlée crushed cheesecake topped with strawberries and a vanilla bean looking whip cream. Let me just say it was some of the best food I ve had at a restaurant and the price was right! Highly recommended! Compliments to Chef Zack! We really enjoyed ourselves!

When we arrived it took awhile for a server to come over and we immediately placed drink orders and our food orders. We waited around 30 minutes for our food and didnt even get our drinks until I asked about them when our server brought the food out. There was no apology or even acknowledgement. He just left and came back 30 seconds later with our drinks. After he dropped off our food we eventually flagged him down so I could get a drink refill and after waiting another 20 minutes we had to flag him down again for our check. He ended up bringing the drink in a to go cup with my to go box for my food. Again no apology for the wait and we didnt get the cotton candy everyone else was getting. At that point we were just ready to leave so we paid and left. Honestly, for such a nice place the server had an awful attitude and service was really slow. We wont be going here again during our stay at the hotel.

This was a terrible experience. We were guests at the hotel and decided to eat here because it looked like a nice, upscale restaurant. We made reservations one day in advance. We arrived on time and were told they were running 30 min behind. We were ok with that, however it ended up being an hour until we were seated. When they did seat us, (my husband and I and our two kids), we were surrounded by a strong smell of Marijuana that they tried to tell us was steak. Our waitress apologized for the smell, then took our order. She was nice, but very stressed. She explained that they had taken in a party of 50 guests and could not predict how soon we would get our food. We ordered anyway. An hour later, from the time we were seated, we received one kids pizza. One, not the two that we ordered. At this point it was 9:30, we had been there for 2 hours and only one of us had gotten their food, 20 minutes ago and was finished eating. We asked for a manager who came to the table and asked is what we wanted him to do and used the big party as an excuse for giving us terrible service. At this point my husband asked our waitress who is in charge over that manager. The GM came out and was extremely apologetic and nice and offered to refund the food we had received. The next night we decided to give them another try and called to order desserts for the kids of which we were going to run down to get ourselves. The guy who answered told us they were no longer accommodating walk ins and would not be able to help us (one hour before closing time). So, one hour before closing and we could not order two desserts. This place is a joke and I can not tell people enough do not waste your time or money! We pay high prices for good food and service, but this place is overpriced for bad service, and as far as the food, well, we will never know because the service was so terrible!! I might add that this was our family vacation and we were treated this way. Never will we step foot in any establishment ran by this company and will share this experience with everyone we can so they do not experience the same treatment.

Went here on a Thursday at 5pm, party of 2. We had the Parmesan fries to start, cheese was fantastic and the aoili was good. Fries seemed like the cheap frozen kind and slightly undercooked. He had the filet minion ordered medium and asparagus. The steak was well beyond medium and the asparagus were tough, probably because they were huge. I had the rib-eye ordered medium rare and green beans. I believe that the meat from Texas Roadhouse is actually better. Everything was over seasoned so it all pretty much tasted the same. The sear on both steaks was top notch. Ambience is ok but you can t actually see the river walk and the music was too loud with the upper and lower levels competing with each other. Overall .for the price I wouldn t go for the steaks. Dietary restrictions: They don t have a GF menu, just a couple items designated as GF

This was our first time dining at Range, visiting from out of town. Range provided a really unique experience. The food and drink itself were very good and priced well for what you received. Old Fashioned priced at $12 almost took my breath away, an amazing deal for a popular cocktail! Though operations and service have some room for improvement. We ordered the table side Caesar salad which was phenomenal, but unfortunately our steaks (ribeye and filet) and sides arrived before the salad was even done being prepared. That resulted in crowded table of salad, sides, and entrees. We made the best of it and rotated between items but it would ve been nice to pace ourselves a bit through the night and not have a ton of food staring us in the face. Sides of potatoes were not good and way over salted. The bread should either be free or improved. Under no circumstances should that bread cost money.. what we saved on the drinks we wasted on bad bread. The place looks like it s investing in the right places, just needs to come together a little more. Next visit I ll be back to try it again!

We visited Range for date night and overall very happy with the experience. The food itself was definitely the highlight of the evening. To start with, the Wagyu-Stuffed Arancini appetizer was a fantastic choice. The crispy exterior paired perfectly with the juicy, flavorful wagyu filling. It was an excellent way to begin the meal. Moving on to the main course, the bacon topped pork chops were cooked to perfection, they were juicy and tender with a good amount of seasoning, but I like a lot of flavor. My wifes choice, the wagyu meatloaf, was also a hit. The ambiance was a little more casual than we expected and the service was good overall but nothing spectacular.
