I got rice, southern cream and chicken my child got rice, cheese sauce and chicken. Both were very good and had lots of flavors. The southern cream sauce has a good kick to it not too bad but it will heat you up. Definitely something different than you would normally see in a mall food court.

Quentin was super nice and helpful when having my friend and I pick out their food! I had the grits, Cajun gravy, and the swai. My friend had the mac&cheese, Cajun gravy, and chicken. They were both amazing! Highly recommend if you re looking for a quick filling bite to eat!

Have to say I was very impressed with the quality and flavor of what I had. I had grits, cheese sauce l, and chicken and it was definitely on point. Grits were so smooth i thought it was whipped potatoes for a minute. Even reheated the next day and still tasted great. I visited the San antonio Riverwalk mall location, and the young lady that served us was great, even gave us free samples. If you love grits this place is a must try!

I had the fish and grits with cheese sauce and a drizzle of Cajun sauce, and I m not kidding when I say it was the best thing I ve ever tasted. This place is top notch. The service was spectacular. These people are so warm and friendly and they put a smile on my face. I feel like if people would give this place a try they d never go anywhere else. I will certainly be back!

I recently went to im assuming new location in the mall. The food is amazing first time experience the customer service however wasn t great. I actually was a couple dollars short on the 2nd order. Honestly forgot I had given the girl who took my first order a tip. Nonetheless the manager or owner threw the bowl of rice across the counter. Next time I won t even bother but I m sure it won t matter to you Where they do that at as the Southern Grit manager said to me earlier.

I personally had always been a fan of butter & sugar grits. Neveerrr liked savory grits but when I tried these!.. Boy say!! Best grits I ve ever had in my life. I recommend to anyone who has never tried grits to make these the first ones you try!!

Those sweet grits are amazing. I dont eat grits normally unless they come from Southern Grits. This is how I became a Southern grit fan: 4 months ago, when my daughter was 8 1/2 months pregnant, she was having a major craving for some form of cajun/creole food, like she got back when she visited New Orleans. She and her dad happened to come across the food truck on Walzem Rd. Even though she was in the process of closing up shop, the owner went out of her way to make them a couple of to go plates of her famous Shrimp and grits. My daughter and her dad were hooked from that day. To be totally honest, it took alot of restrain by her to save a few bites for me to try. I was a little hesitant to try the food once i heard it had grits in it but I tried it anyway. I am so glad i did because i immediately fell in love with food, especially those grits. The portion size and taste was amazing and well worth the stop. From that day forward, we always check her FB page weekly to see where she will be located The sweet grits mixed with the savory shrimp and garlic sauce is an explosion of flavor. In my opinion, if I could, I would give her a 200+ star rating. Parking: On Walzem she normally is parked in the parking lot near the ATM. You can park in the lot while you wait for you food and not worry about traffic. She has different meals you can choose from sweet to savory.

Southern Grit is a classic staple of southern comfort food here in SanAntonio, TX. The customer service is great and the food is phenomenal! Southern Grit recently came to our neighborhood for our weekly community food truck events and did an incredible job at meeting the many food request made. We would recommend Southern Grit for any catering event, food truck community, or just a weekend of good eating!

Discovered this Young lady a few year back. Everything on her menu is delicious. From the Frenchy, The Grits her Bowls. Oh i forgot the Bacon no words but Fire. By far 5 star Food Truck. Oh did I mention she bakes also. For my friends PARTY she custom made cupcakes for me. Oh and another thing she do private events. And caters for the Holidays. This pass Christmas I ordered a Pan of mac & cheese DELICIOUS

By far the best grits and customer service Ive ever had. I had first seen her food truck on the side of the road and began stalking her Facebook page for her schedule. Finally had the chance to stop by and discovered they had just sold out so they had closed early for the night. Chef Drea went out of her way and made my dad and I some shrimp and grits. They were absolutely delicious and worth the wait. Generously portioned for the price and extremely flavorful. Even managed to convince my mom to try it (she is NOT a fan of grits at all) and she fell in love. Chef Dreas grits are the ONLY grits she eats now. She too now stalks the Southern Grits Facebook page for when she is returning to our spot. 10/10

There is not enough words to describe the greatness Southern Grit is. I consider myself to be a breakfast/brunch connoisseur and Southern Grit checks all my boxes each and every time! From that million dollar bacon from the heavens to the creamy, sensational grits oh my!!!! Consistency and quality is at the heart of their operations. I have personally hired Southern Grit for some family functions as well as a private chef experience for my parent s anniversary (dinner) and will continue to consider them for future events. We first discovered Southern Grit by complete accident. It was Christmas morning 2021 and we wanted some food and didn t feel like cooking. We went looking for what might possibly be open. Basically not much. We saw the food truck and thought, Why not? . They were pretty inundated with orders. It was so good we had to go back. On our return trip we ordered 2 Garlic Cream Shrimp & Grits Plates, and a Blackened Catfish Plate. We went back because the food is amazing!! Everything is seasoned to perfection and cooked just as perfectly. I was never a huge fan of grits, but Southern Grit has made me a believer. The grits are creamy and pair so well with the shrimp, the eggs, the potatoes, the bacon, or all of them together. It s not necessarily cheap in price, but the quality is phenomenal and I guarantee your box of food will have some serious weight to it. They skimp on nothing. The bacon is both sweet and savory, and the flavors on the shrimp and grits is soooo yummy! The potatoes are, again, seasoned very well and cooked perfectly. The plate overall is just about perfection. So many different flavor profiles that just blend well together. The blackened catfish is also amazing. This time around we tried the Mac N Cheese and it was delectable. The catfish sits on a bed of creole rice and is covered in a delicious sauce. I cannot recommend this place enough. I would gladly sit down at a restaurant and pay for any of the food I have eaten at Southern Grit. You should go here and enjoy!!

The food is incredible and is definitely worth the wait. It is worth seeking out the food truck. We had the blackened fish plate and the loaded bowl macaroni and cheese with Dreas signature bacon. The bacon? The bacon is amazing! **Absolutely** do not skip the Front Porch juice. We almost missed out on it and thank heavens we did not! Will be visiting this truck again in the future! Sorry, no photos. The food didnt last that long.

Some food is so tasty it is worth the worth. This is definitely true at Southern Grit. The lemonade pictured here is the sweetest I have ever had. If you crave southern extra-sweet tea you will definitely find this lemonade satisfying. Their sides are so flavorful that you may want to get the Bento box so you can try 3 of them. Get the Creamy Creole Mash, Grit of the Day and the Oh-So-Dirty Rice and you won t regret it.
