Visiting from Atlanta and was craving a good steak. Many restaurants to choose from but I went with my gut feeling. I m glad I did!!! I am very critical of how steaks are prepared. Outside of my home , this is the best steak I have had, and I have been to the fancy steak houses. The seasoning, amount of salt on the steak, down to the salad, atmosphere, friendly service: A+ Well done!!! I wish there was one in ATL.

This evening was not as excellent as previous visits to prados, this evening was a total miss on a fine dinner. Our appetizers were on point as always, when it came to the ribeye tacos as well. Now this time around our ribeye plates were a disappointment due to the quality of the ribeye meals. All in all 2 of 3 visits to this restaurant have been excellent this third visit wasnt the one. Its a taquiera that sells steaks. Also there is no beer or any kind of alcohol. The corn ribs are pretty good. You can BYOB but I didnt feel like dragging an ice chest in. The chicharrones de ribeye are pretty good, and paired with some amazing salsas. We were treated well, I just wanted to have a nice cold draft, but no beer available.

The first time at Prados food and service were impeccable. We had to go again. BIG MISTAKE, JUST LEAVE IF THE PLACE IS PACKED!! It took over an hour and a half to get our food on the table. We had been sitting already 30min when the people that arrived next to us were somehow already eating the food they ordered? I asked the waiter what was taking so long with our order? It was just tacos and enchiladas. Everyone around us that had ordered after us were already eating and finishing up? He said, Its been busy all day! We noticed the waiter take some panchos to a table that was done eating, and the table returned the panchos. Here comes the waiter offering us FREE panchos! Wonder where those came from? Its not a great experience the second time around. The tacos and panchos had a lot of meat nerve and fat. If you know your business is getting attention due to social media, please be prepared? Also, they had run out of charro beans, so we could not get that either.

Prados never disappoints. If your ever traveling down South or if you live in or around the RGV make sure you stop by. The food is absolutely delicious. The meat is always cooked to perfection, it melts in your mouth, its juice, and flavorful. The tea is fantastic! I order unsweet tea, and for me it was smooth. As the wife of a truck driver, I have been blessed to travel all over. And I could never find good tea until now. I can only imagine what the sweet tea tastes like. The service is attentive, and the atmosphere is great. The Owner always makes an effort to greet his customers, and he will ask how was your meal. Hes really approachable & down to earth. Its a big thumbs up & 5 Stars for me. If you havent tried Prados your missing out.

We came in from Dallas and we saw this place on a Tik tok so we decided to try it out. Let me tell ya this place knows how to make a damn good ribeye. I ordered the ribeye aguachilis, cooked to absolute perfection and the toppings all went really well together. The creativity of this place goes crazy for a ribeye and the options are endless. I even had Cant go wrong with really anything here. Service is great and they care about their customers. I don t write reviews, but had to after eating here. And the owner is really respectful and treats all his guest as family as soon as he see s you walk through the door! Amazing steak restaurant with outstanding Ribeye dishes. The wait staff was extremely professional and efficient, making suggestions for plates to try for a 1st time visitor. I was flabbergasted by the immense amounts of plate choices with Ribeye as the primary meat choice. The roasted corn ribs were scrumptious and finger-licking good. We were two people. Interesting place, we ordered chicharrón with guacamole, we ordered corn ribs, empanadas and aguachile ribeye. The chicharrón did lack more meat and more in quantity and with only 3 tortillas although they are made by hand and they were tasty But for the price I DO NOT recommend them. The corn is a little better but they need to be cut in half, those were more or less. But the revete and the empanadas are very good, the empanada mace is very delicious and the meat and cheese are excellent. The aguachile ribeye was also very tasty and cooked well and the sauce had a very good flavor and was spicy as it should be. Oh and I lacked the variety of drinks, it also leaves a little to be desired, little variety for a place like this, they lack a minimum of whiskey or beer with the type of food. The flavored waters did not taste natural. If I would return. I missed that there is live music that is a little loud but it gives a good atmosphere.

I had not even noticed this place, but was invited to a small gathering to celebrate a birthday. My first impression as we walked in was friendly smiles...I also noticed there was only one couple...with a smile on their face.. which speaks louder than words. The staff was attentive and we had our chips and salsas served.. not the best, but not bad.. after-all their pride is Ribeye Steaks.. and I must say...I was impressed, my steak was cooked to my liking, medium well, and oh my word!!!...Mouthwatering piece of delishiousness, I enjoyed our 20 oz steak from the first bite...our plates were everything we expected... The downfall for me was, no wine menu and no cocktail beverages, BUT BYOB!!! Overall I was impressed with the service, and the food was just what I expected.. 4 stars overall, because I believe there is room for growth. Definitely going back!

I had come across the restaurants page on Facebook and it looked good so I decided to give it a try. First time I tried going I was disappointed because I saw a big lock on their door so I thought the place had closed down. A few days later I saw a post so I got to try it out after all. When walking, in we were greeted from across the restaurant and told to just sit anywhere. Can t really complain about the food. Everything had enough flavor and was very tasty the food did take a while though and that s because there was only 3 tables in the restaurant at the time. When I first walked in I thought I was going to regret coming here. Small restaurant with homemade furniture. Everything on the menu had ribeye in it. I just knew that the steak was going to be a tough piece of jerkie that some steak joints try to pass off as a steak.I had resigned myself to get the swiss mushroom burger, I didnt think that would get messed up. I sat across from this picture of a juicy ribeye and grilled vegetables. Looked so good I changed my mind and ordered the 12oz ribeye. I wasnt disappointed. They delivered a juicy tender, perfectly cooked ribeye steak. One of the best Ive had in the valley. The vegetables were tasty, even the tea was good. If youre looking for a great ribeye this place is a hidden gem. I highly recommend you try this restaurant.

We were very excited to finally try this place and we were not pleased at all. We sat on a table on our own, menus were given to us but then it took about 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us about 5 minutes later I requested a server. We ordered our food and drinks at the same time to avoid another delay. We ordered 3 steaks: one medium well, medium rare, and well done. Medium well was over cooked, medium rare and well done were bleeding and very undercooked. Half of the steaks were fat. Sides were okay but the serving of fries was ridiculous. The manager or owner was too busy waiting on his friends that he neglected his customers. Never again will we eat there. I do not recommend this place at all. Prices are way too high for the quality of food given. The server was very friendly and funny.

Not sure if we went on an off night or something; I was excited to try this place after the good reviews. The service was good, but all else was not. The food was presented well and the steaks were cooked correctly, but the meat just still tasted extremely salty and chewy. Perhaps their marinade dried out the beef not sure, but I had my steak medium and my mom s was medium rare and even hers was chewy. They also had LOTS of fat - so much we wondered why it wasn t trimmed more. The veggies were also super salty; the beans they give you as you are seated were salty; the salsas were salty; the salsa on the corn ribs appetizer was salty. It seems they use the same seasoning on everything and it s just so SALTY. And this is coming from me, who loves salt. Since everything was so salty we only ate about 1/2 of the meal and felt like everything was overpriced because of this. We told the wait staff at the end about the saltiness but since it was infused into EVERYTHING like salsas and the beans - we didn t think it d be worth the wait.

They served chips and 3 different salsas. a Green salsa, an Elote sauce that has chilepikin with hint of lime & my favorite the habanero salsa. Spicy but delicious with a kick at the end, the charro beans were yummy. I tried the Ribeye Sincroniza, it came with lettuce, avocado, and tomato on the side. It can probably can feed 2 people. The lemonade was bomb, served in a huge mason glass jar 32oz. Carolina my waitress was attentive and brought everything in a timely manner. also the ower was there he was really nice as well.

Definitely recommend to all you steak enthusiasts. Let me tell you. Flavor in every bite, and im not just talking about the steak. The sides are delicious. My personal favorite is the mac n cheese, roasted baby potatoes, greens. You must try the corn too. And don t even get me started about the beans . Make sure your not in a hurry, keep in mind all the food is fresh and made to order so its not going to be ready instantly. Its worth it 110% and no im not sponsored.

My fiance and I went, and when seated, our server didnt even try to speak English. Alongside the fact that there was a kid screaming bloody murder through half our time there, I received charro beans in the beginning, and I basically just got the soup with hardly any beans, bacon, etc. My fiance and I then ordered burgers (which on the entrance sign said it was $14.99). He got the American burger, and I got the one with grilled mushrooms. My fiances food came out with mushrooms, which wasnt on the description. He had to send it back. Then I got mine, and they had put bell peppers (not requested) and onions that werent sautéed, as stated in the menu. I basically was given a Philly cheesesteak. When my fiance told them I had a small allergy to bell peppers, their response was to offer a free meal. Ultimately, we walked out disappointed, and for two burgers, a water, lemonade, and with a 4% non-cash fee, my fiance ended up paying $50. It was a very disappointing experience.

Not a fan. We ordered the lonches. 2 orders, very over priced in my opinion. Too much going on, the bread was a bit stale and not fresh, you could tell by how crispy and hard it was after it was fried. The lonches had beans, melted cheese, salty ribeye that tasted like it was marinated in Italian seasonings (not a fan of the flavor), and more queso fresco. Lonches progreso dont go with beans and I get it, everyone makes them different but at least list what goes on them on your menu. We didnt like them at all and basically threw away $60 bc we didnt eat them. The $10 corn was frozen bagged corn, very over priced. Agua fresca was the only thing worth the $5 bc it was served in a big mason jar. I also ordered a $2.50 ribeye taco for Taco Tuesday to taste and well, I never got it so didnt get to taste it. Now I know why this place was completely empty, we were the only table the entire time. Its overpriced and the flavor and quality is not there. Save yourself $60 and go to Taco Palenque instead!

Well, as a first time visitor to this restaurant I had high hopes based on the reviews on here. First the good. We ordered the Mexican style corn which was very tasty. We also had the cheese fries and they were good as well. Now for the not so good. We ordered 2 ribeyes with Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. Ribeyes are normally soft but both were quite hard to chew. One medium well and another medium. I expected the medium to be softer but to my surprise it was pretty tough. The mashed potatoes had hardly any flavor and the Mac and cheese left alot to be desired. The server was quite attentive and the atmosphere was fine. At least for us, we will not be eating at this restaurant again. I guess we will stick with the national chains.

Wanted to eat a good steak but didnt want to go to a chain restaurant. Found this place on google maps. Made the drive from Harlingen to McAllen. I got to say it was worth the drive. At 1st we thought the place was closed since we got there at 5pm. The place is small but very inviting from the inside. Sat down and started up with the corn.. I was blown away with the flavor and tenderness. It was just amazing. My wife and I shared a 16 oz steak.. It looked more like a 20oz. We didnt even finish it. There was no words to discribe flavor, the tenderness, the presentation it was all a great experience. We will most definitely make the trip again soon. This restaurant is worth drivinflg thru all the construction. You all keep up the great job and the flavors. Service was also great. The whole thing was just amazing..

The ambiance is very homey and inviting. We had the opportunity to try their 16oz ribeye, ribeye papa, chicharron de ribeye, and corn. I heard about this place and wanted to see the hype . Idk if it was a bad day to go but barely anyone in the place and took a long time for the food to be served, the beans were delicious, so I was ready for the same results with my steak After what it seem to be a very long time for the food to be served as soon as I took the first bite of my steak my wife saw me and knew that I was not pleased. Very good food portions to be honest but in my opinion the taste was not there the corn tasted undercooked and the mac and cheese was not on point. For food that took so long to be served the mac and cheese was not warm enough in my humble opinion I paid way to much for my dinner sorry I was really expecting something else

Went on a friday evening place was empty, shouldve realized why. Limited menu no flour tortillas, bottled salsa, can soft drinks no alcohol meat was bland their elote preparado was a small cob with a few sprinkles of chili powder. Do not waste your time and hard earned $ skip this place. Only positive were servers they were friendly did their job still tipped them not their fault the place was empty and an overall bad experience
