We were drawn in by the photos of the authentic nachos and other great reviews. We had high expectations and every aspect, food, atmosphere and service exceeded those expectations. Because it was hot we opted to eat indoors and really enjoyed it because it was an attractive space. Although there were large parties which we thought would be noisy the structural design kept it intimate and quiet. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and drinks. The margaritas were individually made and not from a mix, the best we ve had in town. The nachos were delicious and the tortilla soup and salad were exceptional. We give this restaurant our highest recommendation.

First time visiting! Such a great experience. We were kindly greeted and seated immediately. Our first server who took our drink order kindly shared a short story about the restaurant and gave us recommendations. Asked if were were celebrating anything and, after mentioning my mothers birthday, she later came by with a birthday card signed by all the staff. It was a sweet gesture that made my mother so happy. Our second server was very kind and attentive. The food was absolutely amazing and so were the drinks! Definitely planning on going back.

Wonderful service!! Our waiter was so nice and so were the nice ladies at the front that greeted me. Nice atmosphere and great food!! Will be back for sure since I m a local. Parking: Was able to find a slot at Carriqui. It can be hit and miss finding parking, but the Pearl area is a very busy area. Just have to hunt and find a good spot if you can t park at Carriqui. And of course the night time is always busy so happy parking hunting.

Absolutely amazing restaurant! Everyone was very kind & the service was fantastic! We ordered the tuna tostada, classic nachos, picadillo tacos, and the tres leches cake. Although everything was good, my favorites were the tuna tostada and the tres leches cake! For drinks we did the sweet tea, cafe de olla & the spicy piña (non-alcoholic) - highly recommend the spicy piña and cafe de olla! Pricing was around 83$ for 2 people (not including tip) - highly satisfied considering post-pandemic pricing.

My husband and I had our wedding rehearsal dinner at Carriqui and they completely exceed our expectations! We arrived to a personal sign made for us and directed us to our dinner room. The room was spacious and the table was set and decorated so beautifully with fresh flowers. Our server Jose took the time to walk us through the history of the restaurant and was on top of it! The food served was amazing and my family and friends left so happy and full! We live out of town but I will stop by here any time we are in town again and recommend them to anyone needing a place to eat at a beautiful restaurant with delicious food.

My wife and I had a date night here at Carriqui and it was phenomenal! We sat outside and it was perfect. The service was great and the waiter was very helpful and informative when we had questions about the menu. Wifey and I shared the smokehouse platter and everything on it was delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and family. 10/10 Parking: They have their own personal parking lot. This is a big deal in the pearl area because everywhere has to be paid parking. So this saved a few bucks for me.

Went for my best friends birthday as she d been wanting to try it. Boy were we blown away. Reservation was easy to make. Special requests were taken to heart she had a birthday card waiting for her signed by everyone on staff (she loved it). Gretchen the hostess was so kind and helped me 45 minutes before the reservation time set up balloons and gifts at a table of my choosing. The drinks were fantastic strawberry and original margaritas were a hit at the table. The food was delicious. Enchiladas were flavorful and the rice and beans were so good. The brisket plate was top notch had to make two brisket tacos because of it. The churros and homemade vanilla ice cream was phenomenal plus the thick chocolate they have on the side to dip it s everything you need to end the night. My friend loved her birthday dinner and I cannot thank Carriqui and their wonderful team enough for the experience. Parking: A lot of parking in the back. First time here was a bit disappointing. Drinks and appetizers came out in a timely manner but we didn t get our entrees until 1.5 hours after being seated, and then it took an extra ten minutes to get requested tortillas for our fajitas and birria. Our visit and supper at Carriqui was amazing and enjoyable in every way. First, and most importantly, we experienced the beautiful hospitality of the staff. All were very proud of this elegantly restored building and eager to make us feel very welcome. Secondly, the food -- absolutely superb. For starters we had the corn cakes. Made from a recipe borrowed from General Manager Jaime Gonzalez mother, they were sweet and bursting with flavor. For entrees, I had the brisket, tender enough to cut with a fork and delightfully flavored with a mole-inspired sauce. Kay had the Ponchartrain-dressed fish. She did share a bite -- beautifully done and very tender. We had to skip dessert -- the meal was more than enough. We did have their signature drinks at the bar before dinner -- beautifully done! SUMMARY: Exquisite restaurant. Wonderful food. Amazing, old-style hospitality to make you feel welcome and very much at home. And I should add -- very reasonable prices. We are already booked in for a return visit! Parking: We parked a very short distance away in the public lot beneath the McCallister Freeway. Easy walk to the restaurant.

We had a date night while in San Antonio. Alexis was the best server we have ever had any where. He was very engaging and knowledgeable about The restaurants history and the Pearl area. Which is so nice this day and time. We had a fish dish and shrimp dish both were good and the sweet corn cakes are such a yummy and different appetizer. We saw The Carriqui on The Tanji Pattons show so we had to make a reservation while we are in San Antonio. We had a reservation but had to wait 30 minutes. That part was not good due to we ate later than expected and had a 40 minute to our Air bnb but other than that we said will come back for sure. I hope our 1 of a kind amazing server is working. Absolutely wonderful dining experience! Historic building nestled in Pearl district . Beautiful atmosphere downstairs or upstairs. Our sever made some great recommendations. For starters we went with some of the specials roasted Brussels sprouts and cauliflower in a delicious sauce. A small side of roasted herbed potatoes tossed in a butter paprika sauce, very yummy! Our main dishes were smoked chicken with roasted onions and jalapeños with a side of fresh tortillas and the roasted salmon with arugula and red n green tomatoes on melted feta cheese. Everything tastes super fresh. Definitely coming back for the next visit to San Antonio.

Food was ok, got the brisket tacos which was a little too burnt for me. The service was subpar, very slow. The app that they were bragging about the nachos with burnt end brisket was a bust. They put just one small piece of Brisket on each chip. The tables were small and wish they sat us in bigger one for a party of 5.

I recently saw Carriqui highlighted on KENS 5 Great Day S.A. This was our first time visiting the restaurant and we loved it. Since it was my first time visiting I only have two dishes to recommend. The cocktails were excellent as well. We sat at the bar and the bar staff were great too. Thank you! We ll be back soon!

I went to Carriqui for the very first time to celebrate my friends birthday We both REALLY like the restaurant and enjoyed the food. It was fantastic! The only thing that I wasnt too impressed with were the cocktails! I ordered a drink but didnt like it. My waiter was great and offered a substitute. I also thought the price for the drinks was very expensive. The drinks were super small. I would not order drinks again there but would definitely go back for the atmosphere and the food. They had a limited selection and would be nice to have more variety. Overall, I enjoyed the restaurant and would return. The service was great. Parking: The restaurant has their own parking but there is also paid parking around The Pearl

Made a reservation earlier in the day for a Friday night & upon arriving a few minutes early, we were immediately seated! The hostess & wait staff were absolutely incredible! Jose, our waiter was so genuine, brought so much life to his service, and provided a great experience for our group. The staff at Carriqui never fail to make you feel like you re dining somewhere with meaning. Jose helped us navigate the menu, made suggestions, and we trusted the experience. The food AMAZING! Everything from the cauliflower & papas to the chicken, beef, & shrimp were cooked to perfection. The flavors, while sometimes surprising made us wanting more! Go for the food, stay for the drinks (the margs are phenomenal), and return for the service!

I celebrated my birthday here with some friends and family. Our waiter was knowledgeable about the menu and gave us recommendations from both the customers and his personal favorite meals and drinks. It was a great night within a beautiful building (original to The Pearl). I ordered the Texas brisket while others ordered the Carriqui Steak, Burger, fajitas, and the big meat platter. Also, I highly recommend the Tres Leches cake or Carriqui pecan pie. One thing to note. They add a 20% gratuity fee to parties of 6+. The food, service, and atmosphere are definitely worthy of the restaurant prices. Kid-friendliness: The business does have kids menus

This was our first time here and we didn t have a reservation but the nice hostess fit us in. Our waiter whose name I believe was Isaac or Isaiah was so kind and efficient and very knowledgeable. Found Carriqui on open table and after reading the description of the food preparation decided we had to give it a try. We had a fantastic lunch experience all of our food was fantastic, Caesar salad, tuna tostadas, brisket, chicken, and fish tacos. It s not often you want to brag on a place for their Caesar salad but it to was uniquely seasoned. We will be returning to Carriqui on our next visit to San Antonio

I left a review three months ago about the ease for someone with a handicap to come and enjoy the restaurant . Well this is about the people you will meet when you come for food or drink. Since my last review my wife has passed away and everyone has taken over as one of the family. Waiters and waitresses that haven t helped my wife or me, say hi and ask how I m doing. I have one manager sit and talk to me a little bit and tell me about his family. I also have another manager that even tonight sat for a few minutes and we talked about his home that he s redoing. That s 100 years old and about our mutual love of cars. What restaurant cares about each of their guest like that, and make them feel comfortable and at home at a place that meant a lot to me and my wife when she was out of the hospital for a couple days. Then on top of that, you have the wonderful food and if you need an event a wonderful place to hold it in. I hope this review can help you make a choice. And if you re still not sure, try it anyway. Who can say no to a big plate of nachos. Wheelchair accessibility: My wife has spent 50 days in the hospital for open heart surgery. I drove by every day coming from work so first place on her discharge we came here. So since she was still weak I brought the wheelchair to help her out. Place was great, plenty of room and an elevator to second floor. Could not ask for more. Also got a tour of the restaurant even the smokehouse and event center. No problem getting her around to see everything.

We had the pleasure of experiencing the upscale and serene atmosphere here at Carriqui during one of our lunch outings. Chef Jaime and his staff were very welcoming and hospitable. The food was so delicious and carefully created. It was very nice to see such an iconic building that has been in San Antonio for nearly 130 years, be redone and made to look so gorgeous. It definitely played a huge role in our experience. Also, our waitress was amazing at explaining the interesting story of how the name came about. If you are ever in the Pearl area, this place is a MUST VISIT for sure. We cant want to go again.

Update! Celebrated our 8th year anniversary with their brunch and everything was amazing. The staff went above and beyond to make our visit so special. They picked out the perfect table for us and our waiter Jose was so sweet and attentive. The food and drinks are always delicious, but the best part was the anniversary card we received signed by the staff. It was such a small and simple gesture but it made a world of difference for us! Thank you all for a wonderful time. Everything was so amazing. The drinks were on point and worth the price! The food was perfect...we only had apps (shrimp quesadilla and chicken nachos) but it was perfect size. Our server was so nice and had great recommendations on cocktails (I highly suggest you order the Curandero). Overall it was one of the best date night spots my husband and I have visited in the last few months. Cant wait to go back again.
