Please dont go. We have been wanting to come for so long and was so excited to try it out. We went over the menu where everything is a bit pricey but we ordered the Spicy wings and the Caribbean wings. Once we got our food the spicy wings were very and I mean very tiny. The waitress said she was sorry and thats about it. The flavor was good but thats about it. Once we got our bill they had added a 20% gratuity because we were considered a large group. Its me, my husband, my two teens and my three year old (who might I add just ate fries from our plates) that gratuity was over $15. I thought that was crazy!!! But yeah I give it a one star, we will never go again.

Very expensive!!! The chicken wings are good. But 16.99 for 9 pieces is just ridiculous. No drink no fries. Small condiment cups of ranch are 1.00 , small condiment cup of special sauce is 3.00!!! I ordered a 6 piece bone in chicken, which at 16.99 is already way overpriced, beware you are not truly getting a 6 piece chicken, i got two small legs, one tiny thigh, and i saw that what they did was get an extremely small bone in chicken breast and they cut it in three pieces, so you get a piece which is all mostly bones, a tiny middle section of breast and a tiny chicken breast tip, that makes the 6 pieces, what a rip off for the price. I nicely asked the waitress if these tiny pieces of chicken breast counted as the other pieces and all I heard was the kitchen manager scream angrily from the back of the kitchen, he yelled at the poor waitress because i asked a question so unprofessional. And yes she said that these tiny pieces counted as part of the 6 piece, What a waste of money. The portion of fries for 6.00 was ridiculously small as well. It s not worth it , not for their rude attitude. Save your money. 70.00 for two 9 piece wings, 1 6 piece or what they called a 6 piece of bone in chicken, 1 cup of ranch, one special sauce and three cans of soda and a very small fry.

This place used to be great when they just opened in 2023. Now, I have no clue what happened since. They seem to have forgotten how to run this business. I saw three of the servers this evening just waiting around behind the counter while people in the kitchen are struggling to keep up with the orders as fast as they could, which ultimately lowers the quality of the food. The chicken was not even cooked throughly, and I heard one of the servers telling her coworker, What the hell do you want me to do about it? when she brought the chicken back. I wont be eating here again. Very disappointed to see the way this place went from great to worst.

Starting with the good, the chicken. The outside sign is a bit misleading...thought we were going to get BBQ chicken, so was surprised they only serve Korean style fried chicken. It was excellent, crispy outside, tender and hot inside. BUT I like to have my sauce on the side and was told only two sauces can be done that way, hot or sweet...all the rest of the good sauces had to be applied for cooking Ordered soy garlic. When it arrived it looked like a gooey sauce had been brushed on part of each piece after frying. The leftover pieces we took home remained crispy even though refrigerated. Now not so great...the sides. We ordered coleslaw...blah..semi sweet that seemed right out of a wholesale premade bag...not terrible but not worth ordering. Paid extra for cheeseling fries....total disappointment. Fries were barely cooked then coated with a super sweet dusting of different dry powdered cheese...the ketchup was even sweeeet. I asked for some hot sauce to try to knock down the ketchup...the waiter brought a small sample in a little plastic cup. He said try it first because if he filled the small cup it was $3. We decided we might go back for the chicken, but not the sides. The waiter was trying to help, but when we said we didnt like the super sweet fries...there was no offer to replace with plain fries. Just, yeah theyre sweet. At $16 for 9 bone in wings, its pricey.

Wow this is the best fried chicken ever!!! It s so crispy and crunchy and flavorful. The flavor profile of the original chicken is amazingly green oniony and fresh. It really elevates the natural taste of chicken. It s the cleanest, freshest flavor I ve ever had with chicken. It doesn t taste fatty/ oily or heavy. It s light, crispy, and perfectly flavorful. The chicken manages to stay crispy even with the sauce. The boneless wings are so unique and incredible. You have these amazing thick pieces of chicken that doesn t have fillers holding it together. It s just slabs of delicious chicken in all of its glory. You have to try it to know what I m talking about. I recommend the soy garlic boneless wings and the original flavor. Oddly enough the mozzarella cheese sticks from here are absolutely bomb too. They season them wonderfully and they re these classic thick boys too. My only complaint is it didn t come with any delicious marinara sauce. I mean they were really really good on their own too. But I feel like a nice tomatoey sauce is always expected with cheese sticks. All in all, would order again. Worth the price. I m telling you.

Update 8/2024: Tonights visit was entirely different than before, with careless service, not great food and a.dijing room that needs better air conditioning. We ended up rushing through the meal because it was all going so badly. Install ceiling fans if you cant keep the space under 77 degrees. Its awful. Our server didnt check up on us and basically ignored us after the initial food delivery. Will be heading to Pelicana for KBBQ until this location can figure out these issues. -------------------- While its not quite AUTHENTIC Korean BBQ chicken, the flavor profile is good and its a nice addition to the Asian food scene which is severely lacking in San Antonio. The sauces might be a little too much the same, as they all have a sweet finish and dont run the gamut of spice. Id also recommend asking for light sauce if you want to actually enjoy the olive-oil fried chicken itself... Which is why you came here in the first place, no? The ddeok as a starter is solid. Ive had both their rose and spicy... Both are good. I do wish they would add kimchi fried rice as the other locations of this chain have. It would help out the overly sweet menu. Service is superb. The variety of cold soju is the best in the city. My only issue with this spot is that their AC has a hard time keeping up and when eating, it gets hot in there. Uncomfortably hot.

Ambience brought me and my sun to try this place. We were actually going to mitts didn t realize they close. At first we were excited quickly turned off when the food came out. Had very un appetizing after taste and the cheese fries were sprinkled with awkward cheese powder. Do not recommend cost to what you get was terrible as well.

The best crispiest wings I ve ever had! This will be our new go to for wings and chicken! We had the Caribbean flavor and the garlic honey! They were delicious and soo so so crispy! i love to come here a lot for the specials and such and during a sunday night we came and the two tops were all full, with more than 5 four+ top tables open. they refused us regular seating because it s for 3 or more people since it s busy while no one walked through the door and we are the only ones waiting i get it but like i think you ll be okay with one table being taken up lol girl was rude too i get she gets paid minimum wage but it s your job to be nice in customer service we tried sitting at the bar top but god it s too high and my torso is longer than my legs but it s still too high to do any enjoyable think lol your elbows go above your breasts and the chairs are horrible for anyone with a back lol. lame rules to follow when we just wanted to come and eat rq

Went there for the first time yesterday. I live in NW, so the drive was a bit long, but honestly so worth it. I went down there for a bookstore and this restaurant. The staff were super friendly and our waitress was very sweet and helpful. The chicken was absolutely delicious. We got Honey Garlic and the Secret Sauce. The lunch special is honestly super good value and the medium was enough to have leftovers. The chicken is super crunchy and the flavor is amazing. We will be definitely checking out other items on the menu. The outside looks a little meh due to the strip it s in, but the inside is pretty cute and it was a perfect spot for lunch. The Kpop music is fun, but I will say, it s a tad loud. However, really wasn t a major issue. Will definitely be coming back, just unfortunate it s not closer sadly!

I must say, this place brought back memories. bb.q Chicken definitely reminded of why I want to go back to South Korea. It reminded me of the popular Korean restaurant Moms Touch. I ordered the Honey Garlic bone-in wings (9 pieces) and waffle fries. The total was $23.82 but it was worth every bite. Also, it couldve been my tastebuds but I liked their ketchup for some reason. I am definitely going back to try more flavors and other items on the menu. I would recommend bb.q Chicken to anyone that wants a taste of authentic Korean fried chicken without the long flight .

The only reason I m giving this place a 4 star review is only because the food is amazing it never disappoints, but the service we received today was horrible the girls are all standing around talking to each other or on their phones and not paying any attention to their customers we only saw our server twice and it was only to get the food order and to drop off the check she never refilled our drinks and yet we got charged an automatic 20% gratuity it was a party of 5 I have never heard of a party of 5 getting charged automatic gratuity so I asked about it and ask to speak to a manager because we were not happy with the service and was told their was no manager at the moment and it was their right to charge me the gratuity last I heard it s an option not a right unless it s a party of 6 or more. I would like to speak to a manager about this because that is unacceptable. Our waitress took advantage of not giving good service but she sure did take that 20% gratuity. Overall food is great service needs to be worked on because i am not happy with how my experience was today with my waitress and her service.

This was our second time here and boy they did not disappoint! As usual greeted and sat right away, minute later we were greeted by our waitress. We knew what we wanted to so we ordered most things right away. We were served our Soju right away and even had the fisrt shot poured for us. Few minutes later we got our Rose Ddeok-Bokki! A Classic Korean street food made from rice cakes and fish cakes in a sweet and spicy chili reduction that was so tasty and saucy! we also got our So-Ddeok So-Ddeok which is crispy rice cakes and sausage! Eaten together its like heaven! Saucy, crunchy and savory! Last but not least we got our Gangnam Style bone in wings! The flavor was supposed to be a black pepper sauce but I didnt taste any black pepper... Not to say they were not awesome, perfectly crunchy, sauced and juicy! The restaurant has been clean both times we went and there is K-Pop playing so its very lively inside! The bench seat along the wall is a bit tall for the tables IMO and kind of uncomfortable. We love the food, staff and environment and well definitely be back!

Straight to the point review, first off the outside looks a little bit vague but when you walk in it s a whole different story, cute and hip! Second food was amazing, chicken was well cooked and had great flavor with a hint of honey! (bone in: flavor secret sauce) the golden original was great for our little one. I had a great business lunch at bb.q Chicken San Antonio with a coworker. There s plenty of free parking in the mall where the eatery is located. We were greeted with a smile and had a very minimal wait to be seated. The interior decor looks traditionally Asian, which adds to the ambiance. The service was a bit slow, but we were in no rush to get back to work, so it wasnt a problem. The Gangjeong boneless lunch special had a delicious sweet and spicy combination. Highly recommend for a relaxed lunch spot!

This meal was SO GOOD. It was silent at the table because everyone was focused on eating the rice cakes are a little crispy on the outside and soft and chewy inside, perfect amount of sauce and went great w the sausage. The chicken was delicious. Crunch was next level. Even when covered in the sauce it didn t lose its crunch. I got soy garlic flavor it was nice and savory. Portion is good, I got the medium and was pretty full but there s a large if you want some more. I recommend this place if you re trying to impress someone :)

Earlier this week, we decided to visit @bb.qchickensa for dinner. It s a chain which serves Korean Fried Chicken. They have happy hour until 7pm. Dad had Lemonade, Hubby and I both had the happy hour Modelo 22 oz beer. We tried the Half & Half Whole Chicken with Golden Original Chicken and Secret Sauce Chicken. Despite opening at 11, they do not charge lunch prices until 11:30. I dont know about you, but I didnt go in for breakfast wings at 1100 like they are implying. Monumentally stupid policy and we will not be going back ever again thanks to the absolutely terrible policies this restaurant has in place. The service was also 1 star. We had to practically beg for our items to come to the table. Our water was not refilled even once. What is the point of even ordering a drink if it sits empty the entire meal? There are so many places to get chicken in SA, why settle for anything less than the best? The ranch cups, usually complementary with wings, were $1 a piece. I have never seen what is usually a complimentary item over 25-50¢. Since theyre already robbing you of the lunch price, it seems doubly wrong to charge so much for 3 oz of ranch.

We did takeout for dinner from here tonight. We ordered an entree of Galbi Wings which are a Korean classic of sweet, savory and smoky with green onions and a sesame seed garnish with a side of French fries and a side of pickled Radish. Our 2nd entree was an order of Golden Original Whole fried chicken with waffle fries and a side of pickled Radish. The Golden original whole chicken and the Galbi Wings, waffle and chunky cut fries and the pickled Radish were all excellent. The chicken pieces were quite small. We will return again but this time to dine-in and try other dishes. We highly recommend that you come here and dine in at this restaurant. Great customer service! Visited for the first time and I was totally blown away by how amazing it was! There are plenty of flavor options, bone in/bone out/whole sets. We ordered the Spicy Galbi, Secret Sauce (boneless), and Hot Spicy. The Secret Sauce was definitely the table favorite. Chicken was nice and tender, still juicy even with the perfect crunchy breading. Love that theyre tossed in sauce after, so they dont get soggy or fall apart. The pickled radish is a great palate cleanser between wings! Waffle fries were perfectly crisp and a great way to get the most out of any extra sauce. Definitely coming back with the whole family!

The food was great. The service was fine, though it was odd to need to ask for a knife given the size of the pieces of chicken. On to the weird stuff - the tables and light fixtures in the restaurant are for short people. As in when I sat in my seat in a normal position, my legs lifted the table off the floor. Never had that happen before. When I got up to ask for knives, my head hit the light above the table. All that aside, I liked the pickled radishes enough that I learned how to do a version of them myself and have several jars in my fridge now, so kudos there.

Terrible experience, when I first got it the boxes were wet, but that s because it was probably sitting there quite ahwile when I came to pick it up. But I ordered the original and the original whole and spicy galbi whole, I tried the original and the chicken has a weird cardboard taste, and it smelled like cardboard too. It was such a weird taste and I had no idea why. Then next I tried the spicy galbi, flavor was good but the thing is the meat was very dark, maybe it s supposed to be like that but I lost my appetite. The server said we were not allowed to dine in since we ordered carry out. I ve never had a restaurant deny the customer to eat the restaurants food in their restaurant just because we ordered food to go. I understand if we had another restaurants food but that was not the case. At any rate it would be nice to publicize this rule if you re not going to be flexible, it would have been great if the restaurant would have allowed my family to eat in this one time since we didnt know the rule. So we discovered this place completely by accident, when going on a trip to San antonio. The first time we went it was packed and took a while to be seated but it was worth the wait! The chicken was crispy, and full of flavor! And I had some of the best sweet potato fries and buttermilk ranch! We were instantly obsessed and even got take out the next day and the food was still godly! We went a third time on our next vacation here and the food was just as good! However I would be giving this place a glowing 5 outta 5 rating but we went back again when we came to San antonio and it was a little lack luster. We got take out after an exhausting day at the zoo and the food was just okay this time. The chicken still tasted good but they cut the portions but not the price. And they stuck our fries in those bags usually meant got chicken sandwiches and it made them incredibly soggy. They also didnt put our ranch in the bag either. We figured it might be because we didnt dine in. So we gave it one last go on our last night there and it was better! The food was fresh but the only problem is that we notice that the staff are often hard to come back to the table. We often had times where we sat and waited and waited until the waitress would remember us still there. Even at the end we waited and waited for the check and had to make eye contact with her for her to realize we were still waiting. Awesome place to get some good Korean fried wings. They have so many flavor options to choose from. Our favorite would have to be the Gangnam wings. We tried out the Spicy wings and oh my, not for the faint of heart, they are H-HOTT! (And we consider ourselves spicy eaters). Their appetizers are all great, we like their deokbokki and topoyakki. Atmosphere is fun and friendly, many screens showing constant K-Pop groups.

We like coming here when we re craving for the Rose tteokbokki and cheesling chicken. The food is consistent. The service is alright. The music is good kpop on all the TV s. The only complaint I have is the cleanliness of the dining area. Sadly when I watch the waitresses/waiters clean the tables, the food is just tossed on the floor or onto the chairs. And they completely forget to clean the sides of the table. Lots of sticky stuff from messy eaters! Hopefully the management will have the employees do better with the cleaning. visited this Korean fried chicken and had a great experience with the food; the wings are thoroughly sauced, came out hot fresh out of the fryer, the flavor was phenomenal. i also tried the so-ddeok so-ddeok, it was amazing. so much flavor and texture. really enjoyed the food here; the host was extremally helpful and took time to explain the the food and accompaniments. the waitress however needs better training. seems like i was bothering her and the little suggestions she did make were very vague and generic.

Quick service and the servers let you take a few minutes to look over the menu. Once we ordered the Secret Sauce Medium order, it took about 15-20 minutes for it to come out. A bit long but totally worth it! It came with about 10 tenders, with a small side of Pickled-Sweet Radish. The sweetness was perfect with the spiciness inside the thick sauce.

1 star for service! I ordered food online and paid only for the food-no issues, a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. We admitted were taking the timing into consideration the preparation of these dishes takes up to 30 plus minutes. Upon arriving after placing my order we asked to be seated to enjoy our meal and purchase drinks in store so I could tip. We were informed that because we placed our order online and paid, we could not secure at table. But if I had called restaurant ahead and placed an order that would be ok. They tried to explain that due to come corporate guidelines because of billing or payment acceptance online vs in store. They would have to cancel order and then charge my in store. I didnt want to cancel. I wanted my food. But my money has already been taken., the online order was not accepted for dine in. The add insult to injury, the order will take approximately 30-45 minutes to prepare, which we were fine with hence trying to take initiative and order ahead. Initially upset we said, ok this rule is no where on your website (because i ordered online and rechecked) could an exception be made for this 1 time. We will know and follow guidelines next visit. We were told no, we had to wait for our order and leave. This has to be the most asinine thing I have experienced lately. Needless to say we live 45 minutes from restaurant ,(which we shared with manager) and still no dice. This is very sad as we enjoy the food, absolutely understand food prep timing but just sad to be turned away this way. We waited for our food and left. We will not be back, its just the principle now. Just hope some of these practices can be used an opportunities for better customer service and updates to unspecified corporate guidelines.

The food was outstanding. The breading on the wings is crispy, delicious, and spicy. I ordered the original flavor to see how it actually tasted without sauce, but I also ordered the secret sauce on the side as I heard it was delicious. Well, it was awesome. Meh, was way better 2yrs ago. So, they have Modelo but no lime or lemon. You have to remind the waitress that its happy hour so she can go back and change the price. She makes up for it by being young and cute. Which honestly, best thing about this place. The table will get your sweater nasty from the last customers secret sauce. The fried chicken is juicy and the spicy will burn your lips, which is nice but not awesome like when last here a year ago. Tried this place tonight after looking for a late night bbq place. We were greeted warmly when we entered the restaurant. Service was good, but the chicken was very disappointing. We had the whole boneless chicken which only comes in 1/2 Golden original and the other half is either Secret Sauce or Hot Spicy. We chose Hot Spicy and Golden original. We also ordered boneless Honey Garlic as a separate entree because reviews mentioned it several times as being delicious. We did enjoy the honey garlic. It was sweet and garlicky and delicious. However, the golden original and spicy hot had a very strange smell/taste that i noticed immediately. Plus the chicken was overly tenderized, lacking texture like chicken should have. There was no flavor of chicken, but rather this off essence which i would attribute to a brining solution or marinade used to tenderize the chicken?? After our dining experience i went back online to.see if anyone commented on this weird off flavor that i immediately noticed with the original golden and hot spicy chicken.. One Korean reviewer mentioned a weird/off taste that she described being akin to a rotten smell/taste. I immediately identified with her description, but I wouldnt describe it as as rotten, but it was weird and unpleasant and more of an unappealing and unappetizing essence. Another reviewer described it as burnt rubber and mentioned he and his coworkers became ill afterwards. I wouldnt describe it as burnt rubber either, but it clearly didnt have the smell or taste of chicken and was overly mushy and devoid of texture and without denseness that you would normally experience when eating fried chicken. We also had waffle fries. They were crisp and tasty, but overly priced at $7 for a small portion that equated to $.50 per waffle frie. We also had had Cole slaw...it was decent. Besides the weird off flavor of the Golden original, it was bland so we asked about sauces on the side. We opted for Ranch out of a limited choice of sauces, which included Hot and Spicy, Secret Sauce, Ketchup or Ranch. What Korean restaurant doesnt offer Gochujang as a sauce option? Weird. And the kicker is all the sauces on the side come with a charge. It was a $1 for the ranch. Kind of ridiculous when serving a bland golden original flavor. Unfortunately, not even the Ranch dressing could mask the unappetizing and non-chicken like flavor/essence of the golden original and hot spicy selections. $65 later for a party of 2 (water for drinks)and here I am writing this review hoping to save someone from experiencing the same unpleasant culinary experience.

The crunch on the wings was perfect. Had the spicy galbi wings and secret sauce wings. Galbi wings were very much crunchier than the secret sauce wings but I dont know if they were cooked differently. If the sauces were swapped I would have rated the secret sauce wings 10/10 but since they werent as crunchy the wings were 9/10. I came here with my besties who swore by it and LOVE IT. I, on the other hand, didnt take a liking to it. I am diabetic, so I chose the original. No sauces as all of them are sweet, and I must be careful. I ordered waffle fries too. The good looked amazing. It was fresh hot and served quickly. 1st time visit after seeing it air on KSAT midday show. It was only me, I decided to sit at the bar instead of taking up a table for 2. There were only two waitresses, it did take awhile for one of them to finally notice me. Trash containers on the table?? 12 pieces... not sure I would count the one on the fork as a piece. We ordered whole bone in half and half with a side of fries. Fries came out 5 mins before chicken... cold by the time we received chicken. Music so loud you could not enjoy the food over a regular conversation. $37 chicken and fries, not anything special.

The food was amazing. I got honey garlic and my husband got spicy galbi. Cooked to perfection. Crunchy, crispy, juicy flavor was spot on. We will be returning most definitely.
