I went into 1 Watson on Sunday 9/22, and was charged twice from my debit card. One cleared, and one pending. It is still pending 6 days later and when I called twice to speak to a manager no one is never available. I left my number twice for a manager to call me back and release my funds as I can not use this debit card until funds are released but have yet to receive a call back.

On September 14, I visited this place along with my wife for brunch. After 40 min of having ordered, our food hadn t been brought to us so we had to ask another waiter for our food. It seemed like the food had been ready for a while, just that our waiter never brought it to us. After receiving our food, we asked for tabasco sauce and ketchup to 3 different servers (they all told us they would, but never did). After my wife stood up and talked to another server, they brought us tabasco, but not the ketchup. We had to ask once again for the ketchup until they finally brought it. After we were done eating, a waiter brought us a flask with water and ice that was left from an outside table party of like 10 people. The flask had been seating there outside in the terrace and since that other table did not used it, they decided to recycle it and give it to us (Disgusting). We decided to leave so we asked our waiter for a box to go and the check, to which they never brought. We had to ask once again another waiter for a box and the check. They only brought the check but not the box to go. We waited there for someone to pickup my card and pay but no one did. I had to stand up and go to the bar to get charged, pay for my meal and ask the lady one more time for a box to go. They brought us the box, my card and check for me to sign. I spoke with my wife and we both decided to not leave a tip due to lack of attention and the laziness from more than 3 employees. The service was awful and the over all experience was disappointing. So I proceeded to scratch off the tip amount and sign the check for the total of our meal only. A couple of days later, I get an update on the charge and it turns out they had added themselves a 20%charge tip for the total amount. I called them and explained everything. I gave them all my information and they told me they would get back to me in a couple of days. 10 days later they hadn t gotten back to me so I called them back. I spoke with Jessica Rodriguez on the phone and she told me they would look into it again and get back to me. About 30 min later I get a call back from her and the restaurant just to tell me that there is nothing they can do because they have a receipt with that tip amount and my signature on it. I told them that I had not allowed that amount and that it was fraud on their end. They told me that they could only forward me a copy of the receipt to my email and that they couldn t do anything else about the situation. About 5 min later I received their email with a picture of the receipt, and as it turns out, they had forged my signature and added themselves a 20% tip on a different receipt. Since the restaurant did not offer a resolution, I am still waiting for a resolution from my card. This place aside front the view, has nothing else to offer, awful service, no integrity from their employees, and no resolution from their management. Stay away from this place and avoid yourself a bad time.

Went on a weeknight by myself. There was no wait for indoor seating (hot mid-Sept) and Taylor was attentive and accommodating (asked for her to wait a bit before submitting my entree to the kitchen so that I could enjoy my cocktail). Cocktail (the last stand) and entree (branzino verde) were top notch! Will be back with friends. Parking: Rand garage $6/hr

I had made a reservation and they didnt seat us until 30 minutes after my reservation started. My whole party of 7 was there, standing around because our table was still being occupied. When you book online it states that each table has a time limit and they did not live up to that. They tried seating us at a table that was too small for my party and were not helpful at all. When we finally got seated the waiter took 30 to 45 minutes in between each time he came by and the food all came out separately. They only brought us forks and knives when asked (like why would you not bring it w the food) and when my friend asked for extra napkins the waiter responded with there s ONE right there. Service was horrible, it was a terrible experience and they definitely ruined my birthday. I will not be coming back.

Terrible experience and such a disappointment. Took them 50 minutes to get two drinks, despite asking for help twice. Decided not to order food and stick to drinks considering the service. In 3 hours we were only served 3 drinks. Was hoping to see some sort of dress code as well, a lot of swim trunks and jeans/flip flops, and walking around, standing by the tables at the rooftop area without a table. I would recommend finding a different view for better experience and service.

The ambiance is nice. They had nice jams playing from all genres it was a nice vibe. Customer service was fantastic. All our food came out in a timely matter. Restaurant is over looking downtown. Very close to the river walk. Beautiful scenery. We tried the braised short ribs and mash potatoes absolutely delicious! The brisket tacos a very fulfilling and packed! Cocktails are delicious and get you right. I would definitely come back!

Beautiful rooftop lounge, with the best views in the city. Their drinks are sophisticated and nostalgic and the tapas style menue is diverse and delicious. Would have been a five-star, even though the evening drink prices were pretty outrageous. The views are amazing and weve had a great happy hour experience there before, but the front receptionist, copying an attitude and basically throwing shade at my wife and her girlfriend and the rest of us because of the color of our skin was absolutely uncalled for. Itd be one thing if it was a general job, but the job specifically is about greeting and ushering people in and presenting & fronting for the business courteousness and professionalism, her only true job!

We went here for my birthday, and our whole group had never been before. Jeanette was our server, and INSTANTLY our new BFF. She was so friendly and helpful and kind and amazing and soooo wonderful. She instantly became part of our crew so naturally, we had to get a couple birthday photos with her. Thank you Miss Jeanette for making our visit the most wonderful one. And then, of course, the views and the atmosphere were AMAZING. But well always remember our beautiful server over it all. We definitely will be coming back.

Stunning views, delicious food, and a good drink menu. Who could ask for more? The restaurant has a great view of a square below, and at 9 & 9:30 you can watch the light display show on the church cathedral walls from this rooftop location while enjoying the best jalapeño poppers in town and a refreshing cocktail. They even have a live DJ. Come in on the weekend for brunch, which offers the fluffiest French toast I ve had this side of the Mississippi. 10/10 would recommend!

Everything from the food to the views was absolutely spectacular. I will say make reservations early if youd like to sit outside. Parking was simple with valet, was seated quickly, and the sever was attentive. Excellent place to see the sunset and the view of the city lights. Will most definitely be back.

I recommend 10/10! Johnathan, the manager, is a remarkable soul! As a fellow veteran, He shows an expectation level of service! I stayed at the hotel for a week before coming to the rooftop bar. During my stay, I was exhausted and getting over a cold. I didnt look anything like myself. When I returned that night, I stopped him to thank him for the excellent service during my stay. He didnt recognize me at first because I didnt look the same after recovering from being sick. His level of service was the same excellent! I appreciate his kindness, and my friend and I had a great time!

First time visit. Extremely impressive! Did not know what to expect until we walked out onto the rooftop bar and ALL I CAN I SAY IS THAT IT IS A BEAUTIFUL VIEW!!! The food is incredibly tasty and reasonably priced! We enjoyed the appetizers of chips and cheese/salsa along with the order of street corn and chips. Our meals were the SA chicken salad w/Chipotle salsa, the Brisket street tacos and the 3 season Shortrib. Our server, Carter, was on point with his constant returns to see how we were doing! I highly recommended everyone to give it a try. Guarantee that you will not be disappointed.

HORRIBLE SERVICE! We came for the R&B brunch with a reservation at 1pm. At 2pm we still hadnt had anyone take our order. Ridiculously long wait at the bar to get a drink. I had to go to the host to ask for a server to be sent out to our table. When the host finally came to our table he asked who took our drink order as if he was irritated that we didnt just ask that server to take our order, I informed him that we had to go to the bar to get a drink after waiting for over an hour for a server. After one server took our order another server came over a few minutes later and was irritated that someone else had already taken our order, as if the disorganization was our fault. This was my second time at 1 Watson, my first time was when they first opened and my experience then was also a bad one. Obviously they have not improved their customer service in that time, I will not bother to come to 1 Watson again!

I hate to be disappointed by this beautiful place. It was my second visit, first time it was good but not outstanding could ve given the five stars though. This second time, it was horrible. We were put on a waitlist of 30 minutes at 9:20, we decided to go to the hotel bar to wait and I m glad we ate there because more than an hour went by and no notification was sent. We decided to check out and go to the elevator and we told the host that we were on the waitlist, all she said was oh well kitchen is about to close (this proves we were pretty close to 10:30/:45 and still no message for our waitlist) so we headed to the bar since we had already eaten downstairs. My husbands drink was okay, and I asked for one of the two mocktails on the menu (I m pregnant). It was supposed to have muddled cucumber, pineapple and mint. All I got was shaken pineapple juice, no cucumber no mint no attempt at garnishing, nothing. We had a drink voucher but were planning to drink more. Well we couldn t even do that since the rude bartender with the mustache literally ignored us COMPLETLEY. Didn t ask if my husband wanted another drink, didn t even look at us for the next 30 minutes we were there. We were going to leave a tip but couldn t even do that since our service was non existent and no tab was provided (probably bc of the voucher but that s where they could ve offered another drink). Highly disappointed by this high end bar we here bartenders think shaken pineapple juice is a cocktail. Btw, we went on a Wednesday night, so by the time we got up there the place was more than half empty so it s not like they were overwhelmed with a rush. There was only two other couples in the bar and like 4 tables outside.

We ordered the Shrimp Tacos, Ceviche, and Classic Burger. The Shrimp Tacos have lots of flavor and were spicier than expected. The Ceviche was very good also. It was different than other Ceviche dishes Ive had. I liked it. The burger had great presentation, but lacked a little in flavor. The atmosphere was great. Music was at a decent level (not super loud). You could hear each other talk. The bathroom was clean. The patio had great views of the city and had plenty of seating. The only things I can say bothered me was that my Pepsi was brought to me in a broken glass, but was quickly replaced after I told my waitress. The other was that you cant get to this restaurant from a floor in the hotel. You have to go all the way down to the lobby and get on a separate elevator to go all the way back up to the roof. Other than that, it was a great place to visit.

Traveled for Mother s Day to celebrate with my wife. Waited 1/2 hour before they took our drink order, waited another 1/2 hour before they came to take order food order then 195 minutes later they brought my order but not my wife s until 20 minutes later which I don t eat until my wife gets her plate. We went to this bar for the first time and we also celebrated my husbands birthday. It was so much fun. First of all, our dinners took a little longer and they had no problem moving the reservation. Love the vibe here for a date night or as a starting location for a night out with the girls. I made reservations on OpenTable for a Friday night and had zero wait for our table outside with a view of San Antonios downtown skyline. Service was great. We enjoyed a bottle of wine and shared a Taste of Texas charcuterie board, street tacos, and jalapenos poppers - all delicious. Plenty of photo opportunities with the colors of the sunset. Of course, if you choose outside seating, be aware of the weather and temperature - this is Texas! Definitely recommend - well be back soon.

We had brunch at 1 Watson. We were not impressed. Our drink glasses were dirty, my husbands had a hair in it. We ordered the Biscuits and Gravy platter. Wasn t bad, but wasn t great for the price. Ordered an appetizer and other peoples main course starting coming out before our appetizer. We had to cancelled the appetizer. Slow service. We ve been looking forward to come here since they opened but our experience wasn t that great. I believe in first impression is your last impression. We were meeting family and friends for a bday get together. When we entered the host was under trained, so I think. She was rude and pretty much was making us leave because we didn t have reservations. We noticed a couple walk to the bar and we asked if we go to the bar and the host, very rudely said, yes but you can t seat on a table. I did complained to a manager, but who knows if she took me seriously. Over all beautiful view and drinks were ok.

Beautiful venue. Terrible service and management. Website and Open Table offer reservations, although they are moving away from them. Followed website instructions to make reservations for a small, caters company party. No response for a week. Followed up work daily calls, but no one answered or returned messages. Finally found email of F&B director, who was indifferent and vague. Huge disappointment for a Marriott property. We will be taking our business elsewhere Moon Daughters or another local rooftop bar that actually either answers guest calls or manages their websites to properly update them with relevant information. Service was subpar. Our drinks took 15 minutes and a different waitress brought us the wrong desserts. My date ordered the filet mignon and it was medium well! What a waste. Got one dessert to go and they threw it in the box. Not sure if they expect me to eat the jam smeared on the box. We will not be going back or recommending. Made a reservation for my wife and I well in advance, asked for some request to be made and that was not met so idk why it was asked if it is not going to be done. Also the waitress we had was nice when she actually came around , was mostly never to be found. Out reservation was at 7:45 , she came by our table real close to 8:00 to just say she will be right with us and didn t even take our drinks? She came back again around 8:15 , we asked about the menu no menus were ever brought and the website was not working or loading , we explained it she didn t seem to care. She took out drinks as we explained it was our 1st time there , she then proceeded to take our drinks and didn t even wait to ask or explain the menu. She left didn t see her again till almost 8:45 with our drinks and to take out order. It was nearing 10:00 pm when we finally got our VDay dinner which was $85 a person not including drinks which was another $35. Trying not to spoil the night i had planned out for my wife on Valentines day and knowing every other place was going to be swamped i allowed the night but then our food came with raw filet minot that was still bleeding when i told her medium for her and well done for myself. The food was cold because im sure the waitress was doing what ever else she was doing and i was disgusted. We looked for someone else to alert manager since our waitress was nowhere to be seen and she replaced our food but we were then told it was going to take another 30-40 minutes we ended changing our coarse meal only to have it brought again cold and our appetite has already left the building so basically we paid $85 per person only to take it to go and give it to someone asking for food outside. No discount for the major inconvenience was given or an apology from our waitress she came later explaining she was told about it but that was it. It was an awful night but luckily they had an amazing scene of downtown but i would not recommend food here it is basically good for drinks at a bar with a scenery!!! Idk about the other food but definitely not worth it! Even the desert was dry and had hard pieces , the chocolate inside wasn t even melted and someone guy brought that out because i am assuming our waitress was no where to be found oh and the ice cream was completely melted?? The manager knows we were disappointed just by our faces and i wAs even more upset because i had planned this for her to be anything but that for VDay!!! pasta tasted like hamburger helper cold pastrami Desert was hard dry and melted Filet minot was tiny for price. And so was the crab , asparagus was alright but food was all cold!!

My husband and I visited San Antonio earlier in the week and we asked the guest service where is a good place to eat that was close and she sent us rite upstairs to the 15th floor. The Brisket was amazing! We had the tacos with the pickled onions. I m not into pickled onions but I tried it and was not disappointed. I think my server said the Chief was Richard! So compliments to him..seriously perfection. Super tender and tasty. Also the ambiance is elegant. City lights and the fireplace was cozy. Will definitely stay at that hotel again. Just for anyone thinking about trying it out.

Our night there was AWESOME!!! It was our date night and had never been there but thanks to the staff we really enjoyed it and would definitely return! Thanks to Valerie for seating us and moving us as needed to make us comfortable with the cold, and for the great server Taylor for following us as needed. Overall awesome atmosphere, drinks and good music to come and relax. Didnt mention food as we didnt eat but we heard its good might try next time. Thanks Valerie and Taylor!!!

I had made a reservation for 9:30 last night, when I got there I was denied entry because they have a 21+ policy after 9. NOWHERE on my confirmation email and NOWHERE on the site i booked my reservation did it say that I should know this. Hours of getting ready and a 30 min drive only to get denied please add this very important information to the email on things you should know before coming or make it obvious when you book a reservation after 9:30. Very unhappy with this. All they said was to just come back another time like i didn t waste my time this first time.

I cant spend my night there. They told us we have 2 hours to dine in with them. After that time, a lady approached and told us your 2 hour time is up; your group has to leave. We had had dinner and bought drinks and a bottle, and she still asked us to leave, and there werent even many people that night. I love this place, and the service was good except for the fact that they asked us to leave

Absolutely the worst service Ive experienced in a long time. Our server took our order and peaced out for the night, we were really confused as to why no one was coming back to see if we needed water or another drink after we ordered. We had to flag down a few different few employees to get anything additional. Checking out was a disaster since they didnt really know what we ordered. We really had high expectations but unfortunately this place is pretty awful. Sidenote: 1Watsons clueless manager stopped by our table after we were finished to see if we needed the check. We filled her in on how our server never came back and that we were disappointed. Her response was pretty much it is what it is. I wasnt planning on writing a review and chalked it up to $100 down the drain, but her terrible attitude and indifference to our experience was enough to motivate me to write this novel at 11:30 pm on a Friday. Came for the first time for a friends birthday and this place is BEAUTIFUL drop dead gorgeous! The atmosphere is amazing! Rooftop bar with dim lit atmosphere and plenty of good jams! The staff was very polite and on their game. Food was delicious just slightly over price in my opinion. The ceaser salad is HUGE! And the Brisket Jalepeno poppers were also amazing!! The hostess staff needs to get it together. I made reservations early to watch the solar eclipse. I had reservations at 1045am and was one of the first customers when I arrived at 1035am, shortly after opening. I called earlier in the week when I made my reservations and requested an outside table. The person on the phone told me she saw on my reservation that I had requested an outside table and said it won t be a problem at all. Upon my arrival, the hostess tried to seat me at an inside table. Literally no one else was inside. When I told her I talked to someone earlier in the week and said I requested an outside table, she rudely replied well I can t seat everyone outside. The patio only had 4 tables seated outside and the rest were empty. I was very unhappy and asked our waitress if we could sit outside. Thankfully she said it wasn t a problem. They were not staffed appropriately for the eclipse as food and drinks took a long time. Nonetheless, the atmosphere is great here and it was a beautiful view from the top. Alex, our server, was very sweet.

We had a birthday celebration of a very good friend and had reservations that they were not told about the time limit . We moved to the high table area, and there was four of us who went to the outdoor area to get some air (it was warm inside). The table did not have any reserved sign and two waiters approached us asking us to leave since it was a reserved spot but without a sign. One waiter walked away, the other one I requested we would leave when he walks away. He threatened to call the security if we don t comply. Mind you we were dressed appropriately, birthday celebrant is a known executive and travel agent business owner. We got up and joined our party inside but I spoke with the manager who was apologetic and graceful. I did tell her that the lady who serves us was excellent (her name if I remember correctly is Alex) but I was so upset that this disrespect could not be tolerated. The ambience was great, but the warm weather didn t help the indoors. I m not too sure if I would recommend this place.

We made reservations for a 6:30pm on a Friday and were seated very quickly. They gave us a beautiful outdoor spot that we very much enjoyed for the 2 hour slot we were given. Expansive city views, great service, delicious food, and a well curated bar... 1 Watson is a great addition to the Downtown San Antonio dining scene. We brunched on a Sunday and enjoyed both Watsons sweet and savory options, and our server Jessica was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. In fact, the entire team was wonderful. The only pause had nothing to do with Watson. The parent AC Hotel valet charge has to be paid at the hotels front desk, not the stand or restaurant. The wait to pay was long and the set-up odd. First of all, this place wasn t as expensive as I thought it was going to be. I wouldn t go as far as to say it s budget friendly, but the prices are on par with most downtown venues. The great service (attentive and friendly) outside on the roof top was accompanied by awesome views of San Fernando Cathedral, and the historic courthouse. It also has a great view looking west, so it s perfect for catching the sunset if you time it just right. We had the corn skillet and the brisket tacos. The flavors in the corn skillet struck a perfect balance between sweet and savory, while the brisket tacos were tender and seasoned with a mix of well-balanced spices. Don t stay here too late folks. The jet set, trendy, Instagram folks come out a little after sunset, and pose over and over in front of the side railing to get the perfect shot for their Instagram feed (yes, we have those people in SA).

It seems as if none of these roof top bars have competent bartenders, who actually appreciate the business and the craft they are in. I also went to the moons daughter thinking the craft cocktails would be great but I left very disappointed. I don t know what it so hard about ordering a cucumber martini and having it double strained I mean come on who wants to be drinking seeds in a martini?where is the passion where is the craft? Also don t bother asking for a moscow mule if you think you re gonna get a copper cup well you re not, you re gonna get it in a rocks glass, but that wasn t as nearly as offensive as getting a Moscow mule in a collins glass at the moons daughter down the street. I mean you have 2 great bars with great views of downtown and the craft cocktail industry has the potential to be something really great, but this was just a let down. The view was cute though.

* Update* ugh, I took my mom to celebrate her birthday yesterday and the menu has changed. There are several things that have been removed from an already limited menu. The ceviche and shrimp tacos were good. But the burger has changed, it was smaller, dry and flavorless. It was served with house made potato chips that were overcooked and too salty to eat. Bartender was rude slammed drink on the counter. This was our first time here, stayed at the AC Hotel and went to the Watson in the evening for drinks and some food. This place is HORRIBLE. I went here recently to celebrate a late Mothers Day and the service was absolutely horrible. I also ordered a cocktail, a very expensive cocktail mind you, and had the pleasure of finding little black hairs in the drink. I asked for a replacement drink and that one also had little black random hairs floating in it. The waitress didnt even make sure everything was okay with the second one. I was super annoyed and shocked so I just paid and left. I had planned to have an entire dinner there and make it super special for my mom. I heard very negative reviews about this rooftop . But i still wanted to give it a chance . We went there on a Saturday night, they were extremely busy and overwhelmed . The bartenders were in a terrible mood . The first person took our order but then forgot about us, then someone else came later to take our order again, we were so confused . Once we finally got to place our order, it took so long for them to make it . The bartenders were complaining the whole time about how busy the place is, and I kind of get it because it must be tough to work under so much pressure . Took my boyfriend here for his birthday to celebrate, the interior design and very welcoming and warm. Lia was our server she was great keeping up with us. We did look through the menu it lacked entree options unfortunately we had to go elsewhere for actual food but drinks and appetizers were lovely and the view outside is incredible

Lynn at the rooftop bar was the BEST!!! So sweet and accommodating!!!! Had a great sense of humor, and you could tell she really likes her job, and people.

Place is pretty good. The views are nice, the food and drinks are good and the service was good from our server. The only thing that kind of ruined the experience was the fact that they sat us out directly under the hot sun and denied our request to move tables when there were literally only just a few other couples there. The restaurant and bar was mostly empty. They should also validate parking and expand their menu items. The food menu was definitely lacking variety.
