I ve been to this place 2 times and every time I give the door lady 100 I get back 30$ for only paying 20 plus 10 dollar tip , why even tip if they are gonna take your money anyways . My business colleague and I were very disappointed. And dose not recommend coming here . Thank you

Tonight, my wife and I decided to venture out for a long-overdue date night with a group of friends at On the Rocks Pub San Antonio, we hadn t visited this place before. As an African American Army and Air Force veteran I ve faced my share of challenges, but nothing quite prepared me for the blatant racism we encountered at this establishment. The evening started well enough. The bar itself seemed charming, with a cozy, rustic ambiance that seemed perfect for our first night out together in months. My wife and I found seats at the bar and I ordered 1 drink for my wife as I DO NOT drink alcohol. The staff seemed courteous at first, and we settled in, relishing the opportunity to catch up after being separated by my wife s deployment. As we talked and laughed, my wife leaned her head on my chest in a simple, affectionate gesture. It was a small moment, filled with the comfort and love we ve been missing for so long. Unfortunately, that moment was abruptly interrupted. The bouncer approached us with a stern expression and, without any prior warning, told us we had to leave. When I asked why, he coldly stated that they didn t allow such behavior in their establishment and they did not want to take a risk . I was taken aback. We were just sitting and talking, like any other couple. My wife, feeling comfortable and loved, had simply rested her head on my chest. I explained that she was my wife and that we hadn t seen each other in months and we haven t even had ONE drink yet hoping for some understanding. However, the bouncer remained unyielding, insisting that we leave immediately. The hostility in his tone and the looks we received from other staff made it clear that this was not just about a risk it was about the color of our skin. As there wasn t any other African Americans there at the time. The experience was deeply hurtful and completely unwarranted. We felt targeted and judged for a simple, innocent act of affection. It was a stark reminder that racism is still very much alive and can rear its ugly head in the most unexpected places. We left the bar feeling disheartened, but more determined than ever to find a place where we could enjoy each other s company without judgment. No one should have to face such hostility and discrimination for simply expressing love and affection. This establishment, with its racist staff and unwelcoming atmosphere, won t be seeing us again. We hope that others especially military and prior military can learn from our experience and choose to patronize places that celebrate love and respect for all. I was so disgusted by their actions that immediately after this situation I took my time to write this review. I hope the owners don t share the same type of values that their employees do.

The manager Roy kicked me and my friends out saying I was too intoxicated after 2 minutes of being in the building. This is interesting bc I decided not to drink tonight and got a water as soon as I walked in. Idk how that conclusion came about. Furthermore, if I was too intoxicated idk why I wouldve been allowed entry in the first place by the 3 bouncers at the door. He made us leave and throw out the waters we paid for. When we asked if I was being mistaken for someone else he threatened me and my friends. He also wouldnt speak directly to me and instead decided to only speak to my boyfriend about the situation like I wasnt there. He told my boyfriend to get his girl. Sexist and disgusting human, idk how he got a management position but he should be reevaluated for the position. Also, upon further questioning the bouncers said they didnt understand why we were kicked out and it mustve been a misunderstanding. Many better places to spend your money downtown. Roy also made it seem like he owned the establishment saying things like get off of my property . Fear not though, they have a number to call on the sign outside if you have any complaints that does not connect:) All in all, if you want to waste your money go ahead and burn it instead. At least it would be going to a better cause!

(UPDATE: I found the girls Instagram .. @kitty_taylor96 on Instagram please do better. ) I moved to San Antonio 5 months ago and been wanting to go to this place since I ve drove by. I finally got the chance to go tonight and my experience was horrible. Im never the type to write bad reviews but this certain bartender really ruined my whole night. I asked for a mixed drink and 1 beer and gave her a whole $20 and only gave me $1 back and when I asked for my change she got upset and refused because supposedly she gave it to me in 1s. It was a few dollars so I brushed it off but im sure she ll probably try to get over somebody else thinking that they re drunk.

Place was good until a bartender had drama with her boyfriend and a person we knew. Went to ask for a water not knowing the situation that went on between them. The person that she had an issue with was not even there and she was upset with me and another friend for no reason as if we knew what happened between them. So the head of security and one other security kick us out as if we started something with her a fight or intoxicated.The sad part of this situation is we know all the security that works there only with the exception of one that kick us out. This was a person issue that had nothing to do with us. I feel that issues like this one should stay out side of a business, that s there to make money not drama .

I don t normally accuse a bar of stuffing bottle but my regular set of drinks when I go out is Casamigo Reposado and a Corona premier. I ordered one Casamigo Reposado chilled and it tasted like a cheap Tequila.. damn near rubbing alcohol. I m not the super Tequila aficionado.. but I drink this normally and I know what better quality Tequila taste like! I told the bartender that I wasn t happy with the drink.. asked for a replacement drink (gin). She poured out the drink and charged me for both. When I questioned her as to why she charged me and the authenticity of the drink, she had security escort me out. Shady shady shady. The drinks are not what they say they are. I paid for the drinks.. lesson learned. I will not be referring anyone to that spot. 22 years in the military.. bars all over the world, never been asked to leave for questioning a bartender about my drink. I ll definitely let my military brethren know to beware of this spot. Shout out to then door man. He was cool!

Im in San antonio at the doubletree Hilton down the road a short walk to this bar. Friday night at 11 wanted to go out to get a few beers. Went into this place to try it out. Probably wouldnt have stayed but I was talking to the bar tender and she seemed pretty cool. I was mostly watching the Colorado football game on TV which went to over time and I had one beer. Some fat kid with long dark straight hair was staring at me aggressively once and I ignored it and went back to watching the game which was in OT. I was standing at the bar the whole night minding my own business except a few words with the bar tender. When I ordered my second beer the fat kid with long hair came out of no where and told me I have to leave the bar. I didnt say a word and just walked out of the bar and was heading down the street to check out the next bar down the street. He yelled to me that I was being cut off for being too drunk and any other night I was welcome. I said really? I only had one beer. And he turned ignored me and walked away. It was the weirdest thing that has ever happened to me. I was shocked to see that a ton of reviews on here are saying the same thing happened to them. I would have thought it was just me. I was treated like street trash. Im a Florida licensed real estate broker in town traveling through for business.

Honestly, I had a good time. HOWEVER, what kind of a business doesnt have a working phone number? I went, left my debit card somewhere. This is the last spot I was in before I went home where I paid for drinks. The phone didnt work, so I messaged the Facebook page. They never bothered to get back to me. They saw my message, asked me my name never bothered to even get back with me. Ive messaged the page 2x since no response and days later the phones are still down. Having a way for your clients to contact you is just the absolute bare minimum, and they dont even have that. Unprofessional to say the least. Sad cause, I had a good time but.... Ill definitely never go back. That ship has sailed.

I really needed to take the time and make my way here to leave a review. Our first bartender from 10pm - 12am was awesome! However, the 2nd bartender that served our group had the worst attitude I ve ever experienced in my life and I m 52 years old and have been to several different establishments around the globe. Her blatant disrespect and attitude was truly heartbreaking for my guests and I. We were in town for a conference and this bar tender was aggressive and cursed at a group of professionals several time. When I asked for a copy of my receipt she said it was none of my business. I visited this place on May 24th, 2023 and she worked the closing half of the shift. Please check your staffing schedule and address this with her. Stay away from this place if you are interested in having a good time. I will never step one foot back into this place. Terrible, terrible, terrible.

An experience starts when you enter the establishment. I get security is important but the bouncer at the door was very rude and has some god complex. My favorite bar I visited in San Antonio. Its by the Riverwalk but doesnt face the River so you get more locals than tourists. I prefer meeting and fratenizing with locals when visiting tourist destinations so this place was perfect. I met lots of nice people. The music was great and drinks were cheap!!! Great music and staff is quick with your drinks. Pub Run nights start here for First Friday Pub Run and creates a great vibe! The DJs play great music plus the LED screens are awesome! Located under Mc Ds in downtown San Antonio is a great place to have a quick drink with friends or spend the night dancing away! The staff is friendly and the beers are cold. Went with a group and sat at one of the side booths by myself drinking my drink and scrolling my phone. Honestly went with my wife and not big on the bar scene so I took a brake. Needless to say bar staff approached me and told me I was nodding off and falling asleep so they kicked me out. Told them I was with a group and asked if they could vouch for me, I was ver respectful and offered multiple solutions but they weren t having it. They even got someone to back up the original person that approchaed me. Again pleaded my case and they took my drink and poured it out. Avoid this place at all costs! Tried to find a dress code on their website, but unsuccessful. We were turned away because my husband was wearing a Spurs jersey with only a tank beneath and shoulders must be covered. I was also wearing an outfit bearing shoulders but was deemed appropriate. After looking at reviews it seems the location filters the patronage. Website pics show little diversity, proving their efforts to cater to a specific demographic...in a diverse city such as San Antonio.

Stopped for a drink at around 5:30 in the evening. We sat outside about two tables away from the outdoor bar. five staff members were sitting at the bar chatting. After several minutes, I asked if I should come to the bar to order, and they said oh no well come take your order. several minutes later, a staff member finally did come over (we were the only people there at the time). I asked for a lime with my beer and the bartender said Ill cut some fresh ones for you Ten minutes later, when she was back behind the bar chatting with what were now no less than six staff members, I walked up and asked if I could get a lime. Solid place. There are pool tables and plenty of places to chill. Dj area and a dance floor for when it gets lit. The Dj also played really good songs all night long. Went on a Saturday and it got pretty busy around midnight! Drinks are not overpriced. Had a good experience!

Made a comment on their Facebook page and it was deleted. Gave them my card at the bar. They swore up and down they gave me my card back in a black folder. We never got a black folder with our card nor could they provide proof that we signed for the tab. We were approached by two other people that they had their cards missing too so we told other people not to give their card either. Minutes later we were told to leave the club because we were telling other people not to give their cards. Total bull$hit. I wasn t even half way through my first drink and this bull$hit. I literally had to go to the bathroom and cancel my card with the bank. I m celebrating my 10 year anniversary. I have over 10 grand in my bank account. I m a veteran and my husband is a paramedic. We have no reason to make this $hit up. Worst experience ever. If you go here DO NOT give them your card.

My husband and I supposed to have a good time until he told me that he feels uncomfortable. The waitress supposed to be nice and not be flirty to the guest. My husband says the waitress try to give her number to him. We went there on Sunday night.

This club was a hidden gem. We were originally at Coyote Ugly and the atmosphere was wack. So we ended up at this place and we had a blast! Bottle service was a little pricey but the drinks themselves were priced wonderfully. Most of us went a little too hard. Were definitely going to come back next year!

The manager wouldn t let us in and didn t refund us at all for being in there for 2 min. half of our party who was waiting for us to arrive and had checked in not even 5 minutes before we left. Spend your money somewhere else. These people literally got our money and didn t care about our experience. DO NOT GO HERE
