Beautiful park. First time here, picking up trash with the San Antonio River Authority. There was prior flooding, leaving loads of trash on the riverbank. This park is very rich in biodiversity and very peaceful.

The park is very clean, and the grass was well kept my kids had a plast running around in it near the Pavillion. Toilets: The pavilion is near Portapottys, if you go down the road towards Militarys entrance there is a restroom with flushing. Dog-friendliness: Very shaded trails near the SA river that allows a nice cooling breeze

Visiting Espada Dam. Great fishing spot, no luck but fun practice. Go earlier in the day for cooler waters. We parked in the roundabout near the pavilion. Brought our umbrellas, chairs, small cooler, and fishing gear. I sat under the trees but there are also nice cemented steps for far casting through out the trail. Lots of history and wildlife to explore you can either walk or bike. Toilets: Nearby, search Espada public restrooms should pop up. Picnic area: Pavilion and multiple picnic benches with grills. Large shade under trees.

This place is great for almost any outdoor activity. Waking, running, fishing, biking, grilling, picnics, photos, etc. There is tons of wildlife including turtles and birds and lots of activities. It s a world heritage site so the missions are rad to check out as well. Stop on in and see what the fuss is about. You ll be glad you did.

I walked a little down every trail and they are all nice. I saw other walkers and people with dogs. Theres a lot of picnic tables and even a huge covered picnic area that you can call to reserve. There was minimal trash and I saw people walking around, picking up the trash. There was plenty of shady areas while you walked any of the trails. Its really cool seeing the river so placid in some areas and more furious in others. This place would have five stars from me except the portapotties were absolutely disgusting and I saw a worker poke his head into one before walking away from it. Toilets: Two disgusting portapotties.

A beautiful place for a stroll with family or pets and many tables for a picnic/barbecue. There are red birds, torture and ducks that fly around you or swim on by.
