New Restaurant Review: Annamia s Mckinney One of my favorite restaurants is Annamia s in Prosper. Last night, a friend and I dined at Annamia s in McKinney and had a fantastic experience enjoying their outdoor patio. The ambiance outside was inviting, with a cozy and relaxing vibe, perfect for enjoying a meal on a pleasant evening. I ordered the Salmon Parilla, and it was a delightful dish and one I order every time! The salmon was perfectly grilled crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. The seasoning was well-balanced, enhancing the natural flavors of the fish. Accompanying the salmon was a Yucatán slaw, which provided a refreshing, tangy contrast to the rich fish. The slaw had just the right amount of crunch and zest, adding complexity to the plate without overpowering the main attraction. The dish also came with grilled vegetables, which were charred beautifully, offering a smoky flavor that paired excellently with the salmon. The vegetables were cooked to the right texture, maintaining a bit of bite without being too soft. Overall, the combination of the salmon, slaw, and vegetables made for a well-rounded and satisfying meal. My friend ordered the tropical salad, which was ample! She opted for the grilled chicken in the side. The chicken had a really nice char and a great flavor. There is indoor and outdoor seating available, and a small bar. I liked the painting selections on the wall and the decor that they went with. I liked the nod to Frida like the Prosper location. Sitting on the patio elevated the experience even further. The outdoor seating was comfortable, and the atmosphere was lively yet relaxed. Its a great spot for both a casual dinner and a special night out. If you re in McKinney and looking for a place that serves delicious food in a pleasant environment, I highly recommend Annamia s especially if youre a fan of fresh, flavorful salmon dishes!

Excellence from all. Angelina, our waitress was on point; The Hostess was amazing, going out of her way to make sure we were all good and the Manager, Juan was the icing on the cake in his attentiveness all the way as we were out the door. The food was fresh, delicious and on time. The restrooms were well kept and importantly the Gracious Hostess immediately cleaned the menus upon being returned. Remember the manager, Juan. Hes the only Juan! Thanks so much for a pleasant experience.

Nice place. GET RID OF THE PINK LIGHT SIGNS! Hard on the eyes, I would be there a lot more often if the assult to my eyes were removed. Seriously those pink lights signs have got to go. Food is good, great patio, prices are ok but are at the top end of the spectrum that this place can pull off. Need to add an IPA to your beer selection. For a Mexican restaurant your beer selection is horrible. Most people want better beer than Dos XX and Coors /Bud / Miller.

If you want EXCELLENT Mexican food north of Dallas, Anamias is the go-to location. Seldom overcrowded, killer tableside Guacamole, an excellent menu...you really cant go wrong. Since Covid, the service is a little slow, but no more than anywhere else. They do great bar, as well.

I hope you have a better time than we did. Food was flavorless and stale. Hot sauce is just heat no flavor. I don t like leaving bad reviews but they need to send in some help at the McKinney location. Service training can be hard but the managers need to be on top of it. No one table touch from any managers. I will not go back. Party of 8 and we didn t like anything. The queso is absolutely disgusting. Yellow jelly that tastes like a metal can. I hope they fix it because they won t last long there.

So disappointing; this used to be a high favorite for us. Not sure what is happening, but cannot recommend this location any longer. Sure wish the Plano location didn t close. Ordered cheese enchiladas with an over easy egg on top. Received chicken (I think but not sure) and the egg was over hard. Ordered two table side guacamole, requested no jalapeños in one and received just mashed up avocados; no salt, tomatoes, onions, cilantro nothing but smashed avocado. One ordered a margarita when we arrived; it came out with the food, and only after we asked about it. Waitress tried, but no. Mgr didn t understand our concerns. Didn t take leftovers, didn t finish meals, none had a great meal. Leftovers going home umm no! This was their third chance and gave Mgrs feedback each time; I actually think it s gotten worse each time. $136 bill; not even close to worth it. Front and back of house issues. Hope they get it straightened out. Really sad.

Nice tex-mex place. Nobody at the counter, but it was pretty late, and only two tables. Did not wait long for my food to come out though. I had to find someone. The bartender was avoiding eye contact, so it was me standing awkwardly for 4-5 minutes kinda peering back towards the kitchen, then someone came up with some orders, and one of them was mine. Food was great. I probably caught them late on an off night.

Great food for a very good price. I ordered the Pechuga Primavera and my wife ordered the Salmon a la Parrilla. Both dishes were very tasty and full of flavor. The meal starts with chips and salsa. Good chips and a medium spicy salsa. We skipped the appetizers since there were just 2 of us. I also did not order drinks because I noticed soda comes by the can and didnt want to pay for each can on my refills. We stuck with water. Tea or lemonade wouldnt be a bad option. The Mexican rice was flavorful and complimented the meals well. My chicken and veggies meal comes with tortillas, so in essence you are eating chicken and veggie fajitas (sort of). Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. I would come back here if some friends invited us to join them. It was very good, but not great. It is certainly worth a trip for a good meal. With such a huge variety of Mexican restaurants in Collin County, there are several other places that make the list ahead of Anamias. Good food for sure, and I hope to be back another time for a different entree, but still not ahead of places like Christinas, Blue Goose, or Glorias.

The food is great! We ve always had really good food here, which is why we keep going back. We were the only people in the entire place at about 1:30pm on a weekday. We waited at the hostess stand for a few minutes before anyone realized we were there. While waiting, we almost left due to the intense and overpowering scent of cleaners/sanitizers. It was this way at our last visit as well. Fortunately, it was pleasant weather so we sat on the patio, away from the smell, both times. I appreciate a nice clean environment, but the smell of cleaning solutions should not overpower the senses. It leaves me wondering WHY there is so much cleaning solution being used.

Maybe one of the most disappointing meals of my year. The chips and salsa were very bland, and uninspiring. My beef fajitas tasted like the remnants of a campfire and were topped with some suspicious looking potatoes. The only saving grace of this place was the peppermint at the door which helped my mouth forget such a traumatic experience. Avoid at all costs.

I have been going to Anna Mias for many, many years throughout DFW. All of their plates are great. If you like chicken and mushrooms, the Pollo con Hongos is excellent! The only thing Ive ever been displeased with was when they stopped serving ribeye fajitas, probably the best dish Ive ever had anywhere (Jay, bring them back?). My understanding is it was very expensive to get the quality of meat they used and freshly store it until it was gone at each location. And by the way, margaritas and Bartenders, you wont be disappointed!

I was immediately impressed with the bright, modern dining room. It was a pleasant departure from the usual Mexican restaurant theme. The menu was full of unique dishes that left me wishing I could order three dishes to try for myself. The service was friendly and prompt. We didnt wait very long for our meals. I really liked the modern cultural music that was played throughout our visit. The brisket they serve is succulent. The brisket quesadilla is a great choice.

By then my family had eaten and my food was cold. They took my food off the bill but I left without eating. As you can see guacamole was very good (we got mild spicy), they will bring the cart and make it in front of the customer. I got grilled tilapia taco (for me it has no flavor), even though I do not eat spicy food but I have had much better tacos in other Tex Mex around DFW. This was quite bland for me, black-beans had no taste. Their service is pretty good and fast. We sat on the outside patios. Its pretty clean and well managed but they should put some fly catcher machines or something for the summer. It was a very bad situation with flies. Their alcoholic beverages were pretty good too(my coworkers got)

It takes numerous times going back and forth to get a waiter, the staff will ignore you and it s overall a bad experience. One of the worst managed restaurants for staff in McKinney but their chef and food is excellent. If the owners would hire a decent manager to bring in the right staff the restaurant would be incredible..

This was plan B and it worked out great as we all (6) enjoyed the meal. I had the beef on rice, brightest yellow rice Ive seen, and was really good. The staff & service were excellent. The manager, or maybe the owner, chatted us up for several minutes and not many do that. Highly recommended. Kid-friendliness: Had a kids section on the menu and both kids ate most of what they ordered. Not bad!

Dined in at 8:00pm Tuesday 3/14. Im wondering where all these good reviews came from. We were seated promptly, but that was the only thing prompt. It then took 10 minutes for a server to come greet us, and 15 minutes to get chips/salsa and drinks. We ordered queso from the server and didn t get the queso until our chips ran out. I asked the server to bring us more chips and it took her 10 minutes to have more chips brought to us. Glad we ordered queso to not have chips. This place was not busy at all, 3 servers doing nothing but standing in the back daydreaming. No manager in site. When food finally arrived at 8:45, it was terrible. The rice was cold and not fully cooked, the fajita steak was the worst I ve had. It was rubbery and not edible. I could think of a million better ways yo spend 100$ eating dinner. Save your time, go somewhere else. Plenty of Mexican restaurants in area that are far superior to this place.

Food was amazing. Service was rather slow. We had to wait more than 15 minutes for water and drinks, then another 20 to get someone to take our order. At least another 20 for food. There seemed to be plenty of staff. This is my favorite Tex Mex place for dinner.

This is a new place for my family. We wanted tex mex and this place delivered on flavor and hospitality. The chips are thick with a wonderful crunch. The guacamole is delicious and so worth our 45 min drive. Definitely coming back for more food.

Employees everywhere, but to to provide service. Very rude Hostess. How long must someone sit at the bar to get a response from the bar tender ? Answer 13 min. Asked if I wanted a drink while I wait? Nope. Acknowledged again until food was ready? Nope not for the 30 min I sat here waiting for my order that should had been ready 30 min before. Was this a fluke, I hope so for them. But I wont be returning as the food was subpar and the portion sizes were incredibly small, a 2 yr old should not be able to eat an entire fajita platter by them selves.. the portions are that small. Im disappointed.
