It definitely lost the quality, we ordered a snack and nothing tasted good so we left all the food there. They wash the oysters and they taste like tap water. The ceviches were dry and as if they were from the day before. Also lemonade with a bitter taste. And if they have loud music. Sheet metal and fix the quality.

Everything was especially delicious. Went on a Sunday for lunch when they opened. The restaurant quickly filled which is evidence of how great this place is. Service is fantastic. We ordered a small fish soup. Serving sizes are huge. Aguachile verde, a shrimp cocktail and my husband and I got pescados empanizados. The breading was perfect. Highly recommend this restaurant. It was located less than 15 minutes away from our hotel on the riverwalk.

I was disappointed. Dont be fooled by the rating. The service started with the spoiled and unseriousness of the male waiter. We asked for extra time for the menu and food selection. He left and sent another waiter. Because he didnt like it, and went to those tables who had the tip. The female waiter gave good and nice service. But that bald male waiter is a completely disrespectful person. We even gave up eating because of him and were satisfied with only the first meal that came. The atmosphere was very noisy and they were constantly rubbing the tables. There was a lot of noise pollution. Zero points for the atmosphere. 3 points for the food, minus zero points for the bald male waiter. 10 points for the female waiter. And I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone again...

Extremely small place where they make you wait outside in the heat to get a table. The food is decent but pricy. The rice was not cooked and the consomé was bland. We went at 3 pm and the music was extremely loud. We will not be going back.

Our party of 7 visited this place on July 4th since it was close to where we were staying and not very many places were open due to the holiday. We arrived just around 4:30 and were greeted immediately upon entering. It was already busy but thankfully did not have to wait to be seated. Waitress was friendly and immediately took all of our orders. Unfortunately, she didnt check up on our party or offer refills without us having to ask. I ordered the pescado empanizado which was actually pretty good! I also ordered a side of the Diablo salsa which had a good taste but sadly not very hot. To drink, I had a margarita which was from a frozen margarita machine so it was ok, very sweet and not very much alcohol. Overall, it was a decent visit. The food is good and hopefully the service is better on regular days.

Stopped in on 4th of July as we were limited to restaurants in the area for a weekend getaway. This was minutes away from our stay and decided to give it a try. Quickly greeted upon entry and it was definitely a happening spot. Quickly seated and drink orders take for our party of 7. Service definitely felt rushed but our waitress certainly seemed over extended. There was nothing great about the service - we were never checked on after our food came to the table - no drink refills or anything of that sort so we just made the best of what we ordered. Chicken quesadillas - very well seasoned meat, a good amount of cheese, however extremely oily as oil was dripping all over with every bite. Regular fish ceviche - well seasoned, had good flavor, was a good side portion (medium), and had fresh avocado on the top. Waitress did come out with tostadas and Valentina for this dish which was great. Mixed Fajitas (beef, chicken, shrimp) - these are not traditional Tex-Mex style fajitas with sour cream, cheese, and pico to make your own tacos. This is more of mixed grilled meat with onions and peppers as well as tortillas. Meat was seasoned well and tasted great but my big complaint was for being a mariscos places, the shrimp was not cleaned. Between conversations going on my kiddos, I quickly ate one and felt the crunch grittiness and spit out the chewed up shrimp to see the black shrimp poop in my napkin. That s when I realized none of them had been cleaned. This kind of grossed me out and I didn t clean them out, just ate the beef and chicken on the plate. Beef torta - very well seasoned meat and fillings were ample. Margarita - very artificial/sweet tasting and not overly strong tasting. Not bad by any means but def could have improved in a few areas and definitely coupe improve service. As we were leaving there was a singing guitar player who d just arrived which would be great for ambiance but the place has a bit of echo and with it being busy, it was already hard to hear so adding loud live music would intensify this. Wouldn t recommend for an intimate conversation or small kids or those sensitive to sounds.

The food was ok. Atmosphere though was not! They have live music which is ok but speakers are not necessary. Its a tiny place. You have to shout to hear one another. The food is so-so. The atmosphere was good until the musicians arrived. And theres nothing wrong with that, but when they have a horn in such a small place you have to shout to be heard and having your eardrums hurt is too much.

We went, a party of four, and regretted it the rest of the night. To start, the music was WAY too loud. This made talking IMPOSSIBLE and you need to talk to order. The food was bland and flavorless. I wanted oysters with just lemon, cocktail sauce, and maybe horseradish. I was told I can get them plain or prepared. I told her plain with some lemon and cocktail sauce . The waitress said no, those are the prepared oysters . What I got was a gigantic plate of Frankenstein seafood. The oysters were almost impossible to find under all the other stuff they had all over them. We will be skipping this place from now on.

Wow! This food!!! We shared one of the molcajetes (#56). it was a seafood mix, topped with massive mussels, delicious shrimp, chunky crab legs, 2 grilled octopus tentacles, and some chipotle-coated prawns. The brothy roux was deep and savory, and we couldn t stop eating it until we exploded. The orange hot sauce is garlicky and the right amount of burn. The service was attentive and friendly. The only downsides were the tortillas were a little dry/tough, and some of the rotating mariachis had amplifiers, which was unnecessary for the small space. The parade of different mariachis that came and went was a pleasant surprise, though. Will absolutely come back, and will bring more people, because it was too much food for 2.

I thought this place would blow my mind with its food because of its many reviews, but sadly, my mind wasnt blown. The shrimp cocktail was extremely cold as if it had been defrosted cold. I understand its usually cold, but this was almost Ice cold, and it was very sour. I suppose some people may like that and to each their own, but I like to control the sourness in my food. I got the shrimp plate with green salsa, and it was very bland; it didnt have a good tomatillo taste or cilantro. Its like you could barely taste either one. The green salsa from the bottles they brought was much better than the salsa from the dish. The servers need a bit of improvement as well; I felt judged and not entirely welcome. Will definitely not be back.

Absolute worst price gouging experience Ive ever had at a Mexican restaurant, nationwide. I asked for a whole grilled octopus, which wasnt listed specifically on the menu. The wait staff was great and made it happen. The octopus was just average, real salty and rather chewy in parts. I expected to pay a little bit of a premium for it, but when they brought the check, it listed the octopus for $95!! Are you kidding me?! After some back-and-forth with the wait staff, (who were all very pleasant by the way) a woman who Im guessing is the manager comes over with the check revised to $75 while trying to tell me with an unpleasant demeanor that they pay $80 for an octopus Absolute ridiculousness. Anyone who has ever shopped for an octopus knows that they go for nowhere near that price. You can get decent sized ones frozen at the Asian grocery store for $30 lol. And thats retail, which is almost certainly well above the wholesale price a restaurant would pay for the same item. This dish should go for no more than $50-$60. You can judge from the picture attached to my review. Would you pay $95, or even $75, for what they served me? Considering the mediocre food, absolute price gouging and deafening loud music, I would never go back here .

I started going during lent and they did have lenten specials. Ive had the fish fry, fried shrimp and fried oysters. When I bit into the dish I was surprised to discover the freshness of the meat. It was still moist and juicy yet still crispy and crunchy outside. I have returned multiple times. The ceviche was large and delicious. I will be going again today to try more items on the menu.

Ohhhhh wowzers! Fresh and flavorful fried seafood and ceviche every which way you can savor! Absolutely the best seafood in the heart of cultural San Antonio! The drinks and atmosphere complement the meal. We will be back often. Reasonable prices and variety dishes on the menu!

I m usually very picky about food with beef, but the shrimp and beef fajitas plate really hot the spot! The beef had a really good taste and it was juicy. The shrimp weren t overcooked at all. The rice and beans were The bell peppers and onions were cooked well, and soaked up all the flavors. The plate was $13, and I think a very fair price for the amount of food I got; it was filling. My mom ordered the shrimp cocktail and she said it was one of the best she s ever tried at a restaurant, so maybe give that a try too (:

Despite being in a rougher part of San Antonio, the food I had was great. It is hours later and I am very satisfied. I would definitely go again for the same meal. Ig had a very rich flavor and contained loads of seafood. I added rice to soak up the broth. #BetterThanAsianBuffets. One thing to note, the size of catfish that my wife ate was small. She however, still enjoyed the respite out of the kitchen.

The food was okay but nothing to brag about. I ordered the shrimp quesadilla and the shrimp was rough and rubbery. My BF said his 7 Mar caldo was mainly broth and carrots.

The experience at Mariscos El Marinero was excellent. The food, especially the shrimp in molcajete and the shrimp ceviche, was delicious. The mixed fajitas also stood out. The drinks were good, the atmosphere very pleasant with good music, and the service was excellent. I would definitely recommend it 100%.

Ordered shrimp enchiladas. Menu stated no bell peppers. Received pkate. About 2 cups of peppers on it and maybe about 2 Tbls. Of shrimp in all enchiladas. 2 plates. Cheese enchilada plate, cheese in side not melted. When u tell waitress u cant eat bell peppers, there there should b no peppers. All salsa excessively to hot to eat. Asked for milder, received habenero salsa ans black salsa that tasted like soy sauce. Michiladas only good thing. 2 michiladas and 3 enchilada plates 75 dollars. The worst foid ever. Dont fo here
