Very nice and intimate place for a date night or come hangout with your friends. Food and experience is great but what makes this place absolutely amazing is Ryan!! Not only he was the only server/bartender but he was very nice, empathetic and respectful. When you understand how the restaurant industry works, you dont care about the waiting times and you understand is people like Ryan that make your visit a 5 star experience. Thank you.

Places a little dingy and dirty but its honestly fine, kinda gives it that hole in the wall feel. My only real issue was it was kind of hard to find the bathrooms and they were rather small. The food is fantastic honestly some of the best Korean food Ive had around town. The karaoke playlist is a little bit dated but its all around still a really good time. The prices are great as well Wheelchair accessibility: Place isnt too handicap friendly. They did their best but the corners are tight and the hallways are small

The Micro aggression towards loyal customers is crazy. I ve been going to this spot for two years now and have recommended this spot to at least 10 of my friends who now go here. Never have I been treated like trash until today. My partner and I came in and waited for a while to be seen and no one came to our table. We went up to the employee who was behind the bar, the same employee who sat us down at our table and he was unbelievably rude. A white guy who came in after us got served before we did but that wasn t even the issue we just wanted to find out what the delay was but mainly ask if we can change our table. Before I even got the chance to let him know we haven t been seen yet his response was we re welcome to leave and not to waste his time. The micro aggression and gas lighting was insane. In the calmest way I could I asked why he was being rude to which he responded with I don t need to be aggressive. Honestly as a black person, it s already hard enough staying calm in situations like these because of racist remarks and stereotypes but being gaslighted when I m literally just trying to make sense of a situation makes it even worse. this new employee, who I could not catch his name is the reason we ll never step foot or give our money to this restaurant again. Honestly I m not even upset I m more so sad because this type of behavior is allowed at this establishment. This review is probably not going to change anything but If you re a black person and don t want to be treated like trash then please spare yourself the trouble and embarrassment and not go here. Update: the owners doubled down on how their employee treated us and claimed we were victimizing ourselves. We don t need to lie or victimize ourselves over a lived experience. They are claiming we caused a scene which honestly I m not even surprised by. In situations like these when you stand up for yourself and point out the truth you ll always be accused of using the race card. It s actually tiring.

I come here by myself when the depression has been winning. The food always comes out hot when i order from the bar. When i invite friends they unanimously dislike how unseasoned the meats can taste. The side dishes are nice (fresh) but dont provide much additional flavor. **They dont list all the ingredients on the menu, be safe with allergies

One Pocha in San Antonio offers a vibrant and lively atmosphere, ideal for those looking to enjoy Korean fusion dishes and a unique drinking experience. The menu features a variety of Korean bar food, including favorites like Korean fried chicken and bulgogi fries. The service is generally friendly, and the environment is casual and fun, often drawing a younger crowd. However, it can get quite busy during peak hours, so be prepared for a wait. Overall, its a great spot for a fun night out with friends.

This is a fun spot if youre going with a group and want to do a bit of karaoke. However, I was a bit disappointed with the food & service. It took almost 10 minutes to be greeted once we were seated, and the restaurant only had 1 other occupied table at the time. The dish-ware and cups were not clean. I had food gunk floating in my cup that I noticed a few minutes into my meal. The plates on the table had some sort of sauce or meat-juice on them when we sat, and I had to ask for replacements. They had a ton of Soju flavors & the meat was good with generous portions, but it wasnt impressive quality by any means. Again, fun atmosphere, but some homeless folks let themselves into the restaurant and talked our waiters ear off while asking him for $10 for a bus ride. It was a bit of an unsettling experience. I also ended up getting sick after my meal here. Arirang is right down the road from this spot. Give them a try instead! The food is always on-point.

It really sucks that I have to put this review. Usually I don t mention anything about my experience. However, I wanted to make sure people how this place has changed for the worse. Even though there was barely two or 3 tables occupied. It took forever for service to sit us. The atmosphere has been ruined with the very much obnoxious booth. I m not sure if one of them works here but it seems like it. I would ve understood if the place was packed and very busy. However, I took horrible service and experience as an offense to our group since there was no one here. TL;DR the lack of organize service has dropped the quality of this kbbq restaurant. Except, Kuya Ryan. He s doing everything he can :).

In comparison to what K-BBQ is, this place is below subpar. Do not waste your money here if if you are looking for a fun time. Especially for my soldiers at Ft. Sam. The owners of this restraurant are doing the least and borderline robbing patrons. K BBQ Quality: POOR. There are better KBBQ places in San Antonio that are worth the drive up north. One Pocha had very limited options (kimchi and soy sauce) for sides, food, service, and ambiance. The ambiance was minimal. Walls were decorated with flyers of Soju ads. If you are familiar with Asian culture this decor is almost insulting because it offers nothing to authentically represent the culture. The service is minimal too. We were barely offered the menu, had to get up and get the attention of the waiters, and consistently get up for their attention to order more meat. The vents above the tables were not even turned on and you will leave smelling like meat. Often the smoke was so strong you can t see your friends across the table. Worst of all was the hefty service fee for the Soju and alcohol. For example, we were in a karaoke room and they added a service fee for the bottle that I had to go up to, order, and pick up by myself. This is not how Karaoke rooms are supposed to work. The soju bill resulted in a $20 charge from a $15 advertisement. Even if you order Alcohol at the table during KBBQ they will still charge a service fee. This service fee is how they are robbing people, for a bottle that only costs $4-5 in the store! Karaoke Quality: POOR. They used a tablet drilled to the wall and opened the YouTube app with Ads on it. If I wanted to do Karaoke on YouTube I would have stayed home. At least the price would have been reasonable! Plus their wifi copped out after 1 hour. There are so many more places in San Antonio that offer a more authentic environment for a more reasonable price. This place is advertises $30/hr but really they are charging $30 per person per hour. Resulting in a hefty unreasonable amount! Again, if you re a soldier at JBSA- Go somewhere else! In total, this restaurant is evident of cutting costs and taking shortcuts without caring about the quality they are serving people. If you are familiar with karaoke bars and/or K-BBQ you will quickly see how this place is a sham. They only care about the profit they are making and not your experience. They are assuming you are young, naive, and will take advantage of you. If I could leave negative stars, I would.

I have continously tried to give this place a chance due to the fact that there arent many karaoke rooms in town but I simply cannot see myself going here any more due to the poor service and increasingly outrageous pricing. Not to mention the fact that the male server that oversees the karaoke rooms likes to give himself an extra tip without letting you know. There were only 2 of us in the room so i know it wasnt the automatic gratuity added for parties of 6 or more The food has never been amazing, and nowadays there are other kbbq places with much better service popping up left and right. And if the male server waits on you, you can expect to have long wait times and some parts of your order forgotten completely. The girl servers are always very kind and helpful, so youre better off just asking to be in their sections but unfortunately they alone were not enough to keep our business. Id rather make the drive to Selma to go to TwoPocha then come here ever again.

This place is disappointing and a scam. What was once a fun place my friends and I liked to go is now not worth it at all. We have dined in and we have reserved karaoke rooms here. The latest visit was for my birthday and at this point, we already knew renting a karaoke room was going to be a high bill. But for the karaoke system, the food, the drinks and the service, it is absolutely NOT worth it anymore. The food is just okay, there are plenty Korean food restaurants in San Antonio at this point, so its not a selling point. The service has always been hit or miss here, with the man, who I believe is named Ryan, forgetting our food at times, and serving us the wrong items other times. We started asking to be served by someone else when we came in to dine. For the karaoke, they have adopted a system where you look up songs through YouTube. They dont even have YouTube premium so youre constantly getting up to skip ads. For playing karaoke videos on YouTube and having faulty wireless mics, it is not worth $30 an hour in my opinion. I will be investing in my own living room set up in order to cast on the tv the same exact music on YouTube from my seat on the couch instead of an ipad placed on the wall. Except I actually have YT premium and dont have to sit through ads. This last trip we went for 3 hours, got 2 water bottles (they would not give us water cups, said only water bottles and then later we saw him carrying a refillable jug of water they normally serve at korean bbq restaurants) one bottle of soju for $15 and 2 margaritas for $7 each. 3 hours x $30= $90 + a $15 soju = 105 + $7 margs(x2) = $119 and then I get the rest of the $158 bill was for the two water bottles?? And likely a tip they added on despite us NOT BUYING FOOD AND NOT GETTING ANY SERVICE. We walked up out of the room to the bar to buy drinks as instructed, they did not serve us the drinks and I actually dont think you deserve whatever tip you added on for yourself for handing us a bottle of soju. And all on top of this, the man told us we went over time and that they normally charge if you go over and to be careful next time. If you come here you need to watch and set your time like a hawk because from what we timed, starting from the time we actually started singing and not when we were having problems with the faulty microphones that were missing buttons, we were at 3 hours. For all the money Im giving you for no service and a dingy karaoke room and YouTube cast on a tv, on a night where multiple rooms were available because it was slow, I think you should just take your money and be quiet. If you want Korean food: go to the restaurants around Seoul Asian Market, the new Kpot, Pelicana chicken, or Hon Machi. If you want karaoke: go to Round1 and pay a FRACTION of the price they are charging at this dingy place. You get a bigger party room and better karaoke set up as well. If you want good service: go literally anywhere else.

I honestly had very high hopes for this restaurant but unfortunately, it was disappointing. The quality and taste of food was mediocre, it lacked flavor and was very overpriced. Everyone was served at different times and we eventually had to cancel a couple orders because it took too long to be served. And to top it all off, it was so humid and hot, it made everyone in my party sweaty and uncomfortable. Also, there are a lot of rules and policies that took away from the experience as well. Overall, just horrible, what a shame.

Worst dining experience ever. It was insanely hot in the restaurant and karaoke rooms. They forgot one persons order from our party which made everyone have to wait. Then when going to check out we had to remember our order to tell them what to charge us. They tried to accuse us of not paying for 2 dishes even though we all had our receipts. The food is also very expensive. If I m paying over $20 for a single plate of food I expect to not have to drink soda out of a can. And to top it all off the rules and policies of this place make it not worth your business. The food was TRASH!

They wont let you get the all-you-can-eat as a single person and if one single person (even in a group of 10) wants to get something besides all you can eat they wont let the rest of the table order it. Theyve changed a few times over the years and to be honest: its not worth it anymore. I am and have always been a person who tips well (I was once a server so I basically always tip 20% which is a very nice percentage imho) yet the service I receive from here keeps deteriorating. I had to track down our server multiple times over multiple visits when there was only 1 other table in the whole place multiple times. Im just overall done giving this place my money and getting a worse and worse experience each time I go. Its a shame because this was my favorite KBBQ place for some time. TLDR: service has gone down hill and the management is penny pinching their customers. I dont recommend even though I like the food.

Kimchi jjigae is a very simple dish to make yet I ve had plenty of terrible kimchi jjigae in San Antonio due to kitchens carelessness. The same restaurants serve it near rancid every time. One Pocha makes exceptional kimchi jjigae! So happy to find a place that serves it fresh. Also the banchan served was sooo good! Plenty of variety served with my meal, and not just a few easy to make dishes. So much soju to pick from! Loved it and tasted just like it did in kr!

The flavors were great, but I think that I may have needed to cook them longer. The gyoza and beef bulgogi were my favorite. AVOID AWFUL SERVER, HANDLED FOOD WHILE SICK AND INFECTED US. After several trips to this KBBQ, male server will never fail to literally sit at the bar and give you his back the entirety of your visit we had to raise our voice several times to get his attention (we were the only ones dining mind you), only for him to drag his feet and coldly stare at you when you make him do remotely anything (like refill my drink or even bringing me my next round of meat) the girls are awesome, comparing their service to the male server is like night and day, his service is tier with a fast food drive thru when the girls show it is not hard to be attentive and kind even when you re having a rough shift (every time we visit he s got a chip on his shoulder.. To top it off he was badly congested and sniffling phlegm. I am now sick with body chills and fever missing work because a selfish irresponsible adult handled food while sick. I ve been a server, I ve had rough shifts, he is just a lazy and sassy server. One time he literally was flirting with a male at the bar and would avoid looking at us as we wave our arms and tell excuse me across the room trying to get a next round of meat. INCONSISTENT BUSINESS HOURS. They are not open till 2am their business hours are not set, they are subject to change depending on business . Is a customer walking in right after another table is leaving not business? Posting this on all platforms including yelp: Employees close whenever they feel like leaving, they start to close their shift to go home under the excuse that it is slow, we drove here from across town for our anniversary and arrived at one pocha an hour and a half before closing time, we witness a table getting up from their meal, when we re told with no empathy they were closed. An hour before and a half before your business hours? The male server was clearly done with his shift and didn t want to serve us, one pocha lost $100+ because of employee negligence/laziness. I ve been coming to one pocha for 3 years and rack up $100+ bills every single time at least a dozen times that we ve visited but this was infuriating I will now be going to Arirang and making sure to post this on all platforms including social media. Sorry one pocha, cant enjoy your good food when your server quite literally refuses to do his job and- serve us food?

We came here for the ayce kbbq and honestly I probably wouldn t go back (my SO actually told me he wouldn t ever come back again- I m more neutral on it lol). It s not bad, just don t expect be blown away with the meat quality/freshness or anything. When we were there it seemed that most people didn t really come here for the food but instead came for the karaoke rooms- so perhaps we came for the wrong thing and along the way had falsely high expectations by all the great reviews. All in all I m giving this a four star as a benefit of doubt, but I personally wouldn t recommend this place for the food itself.

Supposedly updated their policy that everyone had to pay for Korean bbq to get the all you can eat. It has never been this way. Why offer other things on the menu if everyone can t have a choice in what they want and are forced to pay $40 a person for someone to not eat it because it s not what they re there for.

I come here very often and always happy with my food and service! The sides are always so good; however, I just want the restaurant to be aware that the past 3 times I have gone, the rice been too mushy/clumpy. I hope they can figure this out because the rice is the best part to pair with the meats. Also the egg was a little too salty this time. This is the first time I have any type of complaint but I know they have a new cook too so I understand.

We booked their VIP karaoke room for a 2 hr party and were quoted $50/hr. While we were there we ordered food on separate tabs. When it came time to leave, each person had unusual surcharges added to their food tabs, and to the room bill separately, that were explained away as service fees. These fees were not disclosed ahead of time and were an unpleasant surprise. After we left about 2/3 of our 7 person party experienced upset stomachs from the food. Do not recommend.

Get that little saucer, add the flakes, sesame oil, soy sauce, and black pepper. Mix it up, add the meat in it, grill. So good! Thanks for curing my cravings.

The place was fine. It was quite dated, they didn t explain the way Karaoke worked very well (they have two options, paid songs and free YouTube karaoke). The WiFi kept cutting out on our songs leaving us to wait awkwardly until it reconnected while we heard others singing next to us. The service was very poor on a Sunday unfortunately, and quite subdued the night. We were appreciative of the staff that tried to make up for the inconveniences we experienced, but while our party was trying to have a great night things just didn t work out. The head host was very dismissive and it took the other female employees to try and make up for the problems. We ended up leaving after only two hours, and they charged us for one hour on the room which we greatly appreciated (considering we really only sang for an hour combined with the spotty internet). Overall, we re not going back unless they make some changes. The food was great, but you can tell that price increases were made quite recently with the taped over numbers on the menus. The place needs some TCL and maybe not try to pinch pennies by understaffing on weekends. I m sure the KBBQ experience is great, we only did the Karaoke. Try at your own expense, it s definitely an experience. EDIT: Since the owner replied, this is even more of an issue. Because the YouTube Karaoke was having issues, it should have been explained that there was a separate and more reliable system we could use that was included with the room. This would have made the experience better so we wouldn t have to wait for the WiFi issues to resolve, and fully utilize our time instead of having an hour of our room usage comped and our time wasted.

Overpriced for terrible portions, food tasted above average but not enough to save my feelings about this place. I had ordered the bulgogi hot pot, honestly it tasted pretty good, but I can assure you that dish itself was 85% just the broth- and taking a look at other people s dishes from other reviews, my serving looked nowhere near as large. Also got an appetizer of the ddukbokki, tasted okay with a bit of spice, but nothing special. My friend had ordered the pork belly, the portion was astonishingly small it was laughable and overall tasted bland- even for pork belly. On top of that, the waitress certainly had a personality, but it definitely wasn t a good one. As for the prices, $18 is insane for a measly portion of actual food in a hot pot, and $20 for bland pork belly you can t even cook yourself is just utterly ridiculous. My group didn t even bother staying to get a room for karaoke the overall experience was just disappointing. edit; I would like to adjust my review after some thought: What Im trying to say is the bulgogi hot pot I received was not up to par with what it looked like in other reviews or the menu, significantly less, which is why I was calling out the prices as I felt it wasn t justified for the portion I had personally received. Pardon my comments about the pork belly, as it was ignorance; but also possibly not my taste for the sauces of sesame oil and soy sauce. Addressing the server, I would like to apologize as I did not quite elaborate what I meant. In terms of actually taking orders and bringing out food, they did well, but they just didn t come off as welcoming if that is the correct word to use in this sense. but at least whataburger gives consistent portions for what I pay for

I liked the atmosphere this is my second time eating here. Food was alright nothing too fancy or noteworthy. I did like the side dishes that came with the food. (Kimchi, potatoes, veggies, etc.) Service was normal, refills on time, decent wait time for food. Price can range from 13-20 for regular meals and i believe 30 for basic buffet and a bit more for premium buffet that includes more variety of meats. Make sure everyone wants buffet because everyone at the table will need to opt in to get buffet option. There were alot of various fees included depending on circumstances like not finishing meat for buffet there was extra charge, gratuity for certain amount of guests, and clean up fees for karaoke. Karaoke quality was decent for the vip room but the mics were set pretty low in volume in which the music over powered the mic at certain times. The karaoke was based on what you can find on youtube instead of chip based karaoke giving pretty good options. Overall id eat here again decent place for buffett and karaoke.

I stood at the waiting area longer than needed ( there was nobody in front of me). I ask for chicken; beef was brought instead (had to return). I had two waiters (a man and female). When it came time to pay my bill was 58.97 and I gave 80 and asked for change. I had call him over a second time to asked for my change. He said I did know, thought the 20 was for tip. I got my change and give the female waiter 10 dollars for her attentiveness. First time at this Pocha and my last at this pocha. I will be going to the one in the forum going forward.

Went here last night for a late night, last minute get-together. We got the basic all you can eat which was $26.99, as well as the yukgaejang (spicy beef stew). To be honest, other than the yukgaejang, everything was phenomenal. I feel that the yukgaejang was a bit overpriced (for the portion), as well as some of the other a la carte items. I would also like a veggies option to throw on to the grill. But, otherwise, the meat for the all you can eat was really good quality and the bulgogi was well marinated. They also have a diverse drinks menu. The wait staff was amazing in keeping our drinks filled, the banchan (small side dishes) flowing and the meat coming. If you love a club vibe, this place is for you. The inside neon lights and karaoke TVs with the music videos playing definitely gave party vibes. Check this place out for great AYCE K-BBQ!

As San Antonio hasnt grown fast enough to have KBBQ places like Gen, One Pocha is stepping in as likely the best spot in town for grilling your own meats. Its small, simple and can get very busy. Id recommend wearing something breathable, as the whole place runs very hot, especially in the Texas summertime. Service is fast and friendly. Prices are reasonable, especially if youre used to eating KBBQ in Queens, Los Angeles or Chicago. The meat was surprisingly very, very good. Marinated and all cuts had good flavor. I dont usually prefer the all-you-can-eat KBBQ places, as they lower the quality of product served, but this was pretty solid stuff. Not Wagyu A5 by any means, but not old shoe leather either. Grills are hit or miss. We had a 2-grill table and one never got hot enough to properly cook the meat. Theyre running electric grills, sadly. Would love to see them go with gas, as its simply a better way to do KBBQ (unless youre at a truly authentic place that uses hot coals).
