Andre was our waiter tonight! He was great, attentive, and very helpful with our questions. I ordered the gyoza, yellowtail collar, fatty yellowtail nigiri and smoked salmon nigiri. I also ordered the spicy tuna tacos. Everything was deliciousssss but those spicy tuna tacos were just so good it was my fav! For dessert we got fried matcha ice cream and that was also so good! Would deff come back when in town

One of the best Sushi joints in town. Scenery was great with all the Japanese art on the walls all thru the building. The wife and I went after a mart at the brick and we really had a great time. For starters we got spring rolls and edamame. Spring rolls were really crispy and packed. Edamame was good and had sea salt sprinkled on it. For the main dishes we split the spicy tuna and Sukeban roll. Spicy tuna was good. Good flavor a just a tad bit of spice. The Sukeban was a staff favorite and recommendation. It was really good. Had yellowtail inside and had a spicy but yet citrus taste at the end. Really really good and definitely recommend. Staff was on top of it the whole night. Constantly checking and making sure water was filled. Pricing is good! For 2 rolls and 2 starters we paid about $43. So good little night out for us and we will definitely be going back to visit.

There were a lot of great things about this restaurant, but also a few not-so-great. The atmosphere is really nice, including the music. The service was excellent, and the presentation of the dishes was beautiful. The tofu tacos were delicious, and they had a great selection of sake. The not great things were the wagyu yakitori, which was way overcooked (and also not yakitori) and the sushi roll that had its flavor overpowered by the piece of lime on top of every piece. Id probably go here again but order some different dishes.

I ordered the chicken teriyaki plate. Simple meal of salad, rice and chicken. For the price, I would have expected fresh everything. Lettuce was already browning and the rice was hard. I cook so I know day old rice when I see it and feel it. Wont be going back Sadly. Parking: Somedays parking is free. I was here on 1st Friday, parking was $15. I didnt want to even find out how far street parking was.

I love Sushi and have had so many great experiences in Houston, Dallas, and Austin. I ve also loved my experiences in the North East, Boston and New York. My expectations are high when it comes to sushi, nigiri, and sashimi. This place got it perfect. The food was excellent. I got the Chef s Special A and it was wonderful. The fish was fresh and freakin delicious. The service was great, too! 100% recommend and will come back again for sure!

Certainly not a must stop sushi restaurant. Overpriced for sashimi. Very small pieces for the price of about $3.75 each piece. Would generally say pass and find same for less or much better quality and serving size for the cost.

Food: Sushi is okay not anything special or crazy. There s definitely way better sushi places around. Gyoza and wontons were definitely store bought frozen. Ramen was ok definitely better else where. Service: Service was awful we had to call our server over every time. Didn t speak English very well so we couldn t ask questions. Atmosphere: Little flies were flying around everywhere trying to fly in your face. Very strange atmosphere a lot of people eating alone the vibe was weird.

We had a great experience. Honestly, we did not expect the food to be this delicious. The spicy tuna roll was first class, tuna was fresh and high grade as well as the avocado and cucumber. One of the best I ve had. The pork gyoza was crunchy and tasty. The noodles were the best plate, the vegetables were crispy and tender, the entire plate just flowed with authentic asian flavors. Highly recommended for a quaint, date night. A modern, contemporary place with a blast from the past. Hard to explain but with a nice, classy atmosphere.

If youre here in the area, its not a bad choice to get a bite but its definitely not a place to make it a worthwhile Dinner. Im pretty sure the rice is bagged because it was salty and most of the food is expensive for no reason and its just not good for the amount you pay. The server/workers do their job well but this isnt exactly a must visit spot in this area. Been twice and felt the same.

Pretty decent sushi place for downtown San Antonio. The food was ok, and Sashimi was good. The appetizers were a little off. It is a good Mid Sushi spot. My complaints are that the place is too small, and the service is kinda non exsistant unless you are with the LGBTTVXQ generation, which I am not. So if youre not into that, dont expect to get proper normal service. they have most of the standard sake. However, the hot sake was kinda bitter tasting compared to most of them. I usually try at other establishments. I try to leave an honest opinion for others and give my 100% honest opinions. If this place was a little bigger or had bigger tables and the service was a little better, I would give a 4 star. Like I said for downtown and a quick bite super. For relaxing afternoon no thank you.

Based on first time visit! Im pretty particular with my sushi having grown up on the east coast, and this was really really good! I got the squid, ikura, and salmon nigiri, along with the Southtown roll. The roll sounded really bizarre to me but I was intrigued so I gave it a shot and wow, was one of the best flavored rolls Ive had! The goat cheese was a great accent flavor and the serrano added perfect spice and a little clean crunch. Theres a lot of disappointments with restaurants these days, so I was really happy that wasnt my experience here

Great location south of downtown with good vibes all around. Service can be a little slow at times so patience is a must. Staff is ok,with knowledge but extremely busy. The food is pretty standard, some items when it comes to raw fish are sensitive to temperature. Most of the plates were not there when it comes to that. Would appreciate a better treatment of the seafood served. Altho Sake bombs are pretty good. If your like me and like those then this is your place. We shared a carafe of hot sake, which was the best sake ive had. i got anitas roll, Which was sweet and savory, the flavor combinations in their rolls are unique and work amazingly - anitas had goat cheese and mango, and the boss girl roll uses strawberry jelly. The peach sake jelly shot was lovely, sparkling somehow and sweet, not very intense sake. Highly recommend this place! Vegetarian options: 2 vegetarian rolls options, a few appetizers.

Pretty disappointed overall. The restaurant has the feel of an old smokers house where everything is slightly dirty including the walls and dishes. Struggled getting the attention of our waiter, who sat at the bar with headphones in for almost all of our dinner. The presentation of the food was done well and we did enjoy the two specialty rolls we got. The gyoza was fried to an almost cracker texture and the tuna tower was incredibly fishy in taste. We did love the saki bombs. Essentially a dive bar that serves sushi

Let me start out by saying that I recognise that this is a sushi restaurant and that I realise they are not known for their ramen. I didn t have high expectations because of this. But I was extremely disappointed with what I got. It took over 30 minutes for the food to come out even though the restaurant had only 4 tables. When I got it, the broth had no flavour to it and there were only enough noodles for 3 bites of ramen. The pork in the ramen did have good flavour. But for this being one of the more higher priced ramens in the area ($18), it was definitely not worth it.

Was honestly not very impressed. My partner and I had a fairly small and quick food order, 3 rolls. They took a very long time to come out despite the sushi bar not seemingly very busy. They seemed to have the service under control and the waitress was checking on us a number of times. Although, she did seem a impatient with us and it made us feel uncomfortable. I did, however, order a plum wine, which I enjoyed. They had the vegetable roll, which I appreciated as a vegetarian. The rolls were not falling apart, but the taste was bland. I appreciated that the restrooms were spacious and clean. Overall I found the experience to be mediocre and I would not likely return.

We got the shrimp tempura and spicy dragon rolls and had to refrain from licking the plate! my MIL had the boss girl roll and her SO got nigiri. Wagyu beef is not real Japanese Wagyu. And don t expect your Pork Ramen to be a typical Japanese Tonkutsu Ramen, neither the broth, nor the pork. However, if you re out here to have a bite of Japanese flavor and specially to enjoy some real Japanese drink with friends, it could be an option.

Excellent little sushi bar, great selection and very clean fresh flavor. The staff had great personality and the location was flawless with many other establishments next to them to follow up dinner.

It s a small place, but on my opinion is one of the best sushi s of San Antonio. We order to share 3 sushi rolls they were fresh and made on that moment, they have the kitchen right in front of the tables so you can see the process of your order.

I stopped in at this spot due to a recommendation from a friend. Since coming to San Antonio, I have yet to find any good sushi as Texas is not known for it. It was immediately apparent that this place was striving to set the bar high and knew what they were doing. The staff was friendly and the waiter was cool. I ordered the rainbow roll, southtown roll, and one custom roll. The fish was super fresh and absolutely delicious. I particularly liked the texture of the salmon as it was pure melt in your mouth amazing. Overall, I left happily full and impressed by the quality. The southside roll brought a unique addition of goat cheese into the roll - this was a first for me. The addition paired extremely well and I would certainly order it again. Great job!

Update from a 3 to a 2 Meh food Tries spicy chicken ramen and it was simply not good. I don t know how else to put it. I ve been going around all of SA trying different places and decided to come back to this place for ramen. Yeah self reminder to never come back. Previous Review: Mushi sushi and the spicy mayo is not in house made. Aka it s shelf brand. The portion sizes are good and the waitress was nice and attentive, that s the only reason this js getting three stars.

Fresh and delicious! I d especially recommend the hand rolls. I got takeout from here about a week ago and everyone in my friend group loved their plates: traditional sushi, hand rolls, rice dishes, everything was great. Do be aware that it s closed on Mondays! Not a big deal or a takeaway from this place, just to keep in mind for planning a trip or an outing.
