The office in New Braunfels,TX by Christu Hospital Dr. Holly Chapman she rushes you does not seem like she cares did not addres my concerns the office always stunk cant describe the smell my vist was on 6/25/24 for a well visit Ive had better ones before too long of a wait for everything and there not that busy oh she was not prepared waiting for test results on my fibroids I think she went and saw another patient

Ive given this office chances and after our last visit plenty of time before writing a review, hopeful that this was not the way Dr. Grunn would allow her office/ staff members to treat her patients. To our disspointment, inhumane, discrimination, neglect, disrespect (the list could go on) is being allowed. I would not wish this type of treatment we recieved by this staff particularly by the front office receptionist and her clinical director. When I say we, a CHILD was involved. Make sure you check all your charges, and follow up with any complaints you may have. Those go through the worst part of this office and Im almost certain arent seen/ heard by the doctor whos reputation is being represented by these certain type of employees.. With many complaints from multiple people nothing has changed and they have allowed them to still work there. The ONLY reason we have continued to try make it work with this office is Sierra the PA is AMAZING! Grunn has been good for quick basic visits but never has appointments, from what Im told she is slowing down, so we dont see her much. Just sad she is allowing her pratice to loose respect and value.

I have tried to set myself and daughter up for an appointment to see the allergy lab here for two months. The front desk did not return calls and did not help at all. I understand you re understaffed, but I felt like the customer service was lacking.

I like Dr. Tanya Grun she is a pretty good dr. I havent had no complains. Ive been with them for many years. Yes some times like other doctors offices there some confusing but I was able to fix the problem so far.

This Dr is no good I have been coming here for 12 years and for the past year they have gone to hell Dr is never there they will not keep my appointment straight they dont keep up with meds they have become a big waste of my time and money Dalia is the only one here that even trys to help solve my problems Dr grun is never here because they tell me shes always out sick and she is the only one who can call in my meds so they are always over due I just got ran out of the office this morning because VICKIE was rude to me i was told to FIND MY OWN MEDS SO I DID I WENT BACK IN TO TELL HER WHERE I FOUND IT AND ALL SHE WOULD SAY IS IlL TELL DR GRUN i said how are you going to do that when i havent even told you where i found it she told me to leave so i had a few bad words for her and then i left because she said she was tired of me ha what a joke this place has become

I was informed that you are charged separate fees for talking about such things as allergies or just simple concerns with aging. Not asking for treatment, just concerns. Nurse was super rude and PA was just looking out for herself.

This doctors office is terrible do not use them. Something wrong is going on there. Won t refill prescriptions on time, can t get an appointment easily, and their billing situation is so screwed up. I m a cash pay and they have a bill racked up and cannot reach anyone to fix the mistake

I absolutely love the team here. I ve been seen by this practice for years and have had very positive experiences. There was even a time I had a very bad panic attack at another doctor s office, they reached out to my PCP here and that evening I received a phone call just to check in on me to make sure everything was ok. They genuinely care about your well-being, and don t minimize your concerns. I have never been rushed through an appointment or ever been made to feel like I wasn t a valued patient. Any recommendations they have ever had for my care have been discussed WITH me, and never forced on me. I have Sierra as my provider and she is the best!! Vicky at the front desk is always so awesome, too! This team is definitely professional, compassionate, and respectful. I m very grateful for their care!

I was a patient of Tanya Grun s practice for less than 2 years. I never once met with Dr. Grun and was never even given the chance to do so. Every 6 months, I was required to (pay out of pocket) for an ADHD test that was literally a waste of my time/money. When I needed refills, the receptionist would then tell the PA that I needed a refill and I wouldn t hear back from them for at least 2-3 business days, sometimes even longer. I got sick and tired of their convenience fee for calling in my prescriptions so I went with another clinic. I m so happy I did because not only so I not get charged stupid convenience fees but I can call in my refill and they have it filled within a few hours. I have had countless headaches with this place and overall they were decent, I wouldn t recommend!!!

I have been trying to get ahold of the billing department with this clinic since APRIL. The receptionist Vicky keeps telling me she will have someone call me, then another time they said Emily will call me. Nobody ever called me, finally yesterday was about the 8th time I called to try and resolve this billing issue and I told her to have the billing people call me, it was really weird when Vicky called back and told me that she spoke with billing and they said that payment was never received by insurance and that insurance didnt cover it and I would have to call them. I then asked her what CPT codes were used to submit the claim she said she didnt know anything about it(which is why I asked for billing to call me), I figured maybe it was how it was submitted(this was for a new patient wellness visit). Then I asked why isnt billing calling me like I ASKED a thousand times over? She then said ok I will let them know to call you. Like ok, I asked that already from the beginning numerous times, and theyre acting like its some new thing never considered before. I call my insurance and come to find out they PAID this clinic back in April 28th, (my visit was April 4th), and they accepted payment May 2nd from the insurance. I have the EOB to prove it from my insurance, but yet this clinic claims I owe them $25 no show fee(which I canceled the appt 2 days prior), and they are also charging me $194 for the one and only visit. To which my insurance said thats a red flag because the $194 doesnt even match what the actual charges were being billed to insurance so we have no idea why they think theyre charging me anything at all. I paid my $30 copay. Fast forward to an hour after I called them to let them know what insurance told me, and she picked up the phone and LITERALLY HUNGUP the phone on me. I heard her cough before it clicked off, so I left a message. I will report this clinic to the Texas Medical Board and the Texas Health & Family Services if they do not return my call FROM BILLING and get this all resolved and done with. This has GOT TO BE the WORST clinic in New Braunfels, my experience has raised my BP and stressed me out this entire time.

I received a steroid shot in January and as a result the injection site atrophied. I now have a very large discolored divot on my bottom. I hope to warn others so this doesnt happen to anyone else. This deformity had caused me severe mental anguish. The office hasnt returned my phone call.

Went to this clinic, new in town. Seen one of their NPs, she was very bland. Didnt really seem to care or was interested in my concerns, I wanted to possibly talk a plan to tackle my concerns in future and I was rushed through my visit. Very basic run through, Ive seen many drs and medical visits so it was things I already knew. Felt like it was a waste of a visit. I told her about symptoms and concerns I had and she looked absolutely uninterested. Also, this office is extremely hard to get ahold of anyone, ever. And one older lady at the front always seems aggravated and annoyed and very standoffish, as is most of the front desk receptionists. Hard to speak nicely to her when she is very short with you and quips back. Also, trying to cancel appts is annoying because theyll end up charging you no show fees even though you canceled days ahead of time. So beware. Not worth going here, there are better clinics elsewhere with better manners and medical staff who actually care.

This is the first review I have ever left in my life, simply because it was the worst experience I have ever had. There is a complete lack of care in this facility. I scheduled an appointment as I was feeling unwell and wanted to get blood work done due to frequent hormone imbalances. I went in, was able to get bloodwork done and scheduled a follow up a week later. I took off work only to sit in the Dr.s office for an hour, and then be told my bloodwork wasnt ready. Dr. Hunt asked me if she could give a a call the next day. She called the next day and basically said everything looks good. I said okay, well what about my estrogen levels...her response Umm, its still pending actually. You could tell she had not looked over my bloodwork before even calling me, and did it in the moment. Then proceeded to tell me she would have to give me a call back the following week. I have never experienced such a lack of care rom a medical facility. Please, stay away from this place.

Both my kids and I have been patients of Dr Grun and her practice over 13 years and couldnt be more happier with them. The staff and doctors at Abundant Heath have always been amazing and super helpful. Anything weve encountered from immunizations to serious illness, they always make sure we are taken care of. Most recently, weve been seeing Amanda and she is awesome!! Does a great job connecting with patients and making us feel like our concerns are top priority. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for a medical provider.

My Mom was extremely confused shortly after my Dad passed away. I was able to get her in quickly. Blood work, urinalysis and chest X-rays were ordered. All came back negative. We were both treated with compassion and care from everyone in the office. My phone was constantly ringing and they waited patiently for me. Staff called a couple of times to check on Mom after the appointment. Office manager helped me with the appointment while she was with her very sick father. I am also a patient of Abundant Health and have been for years. I receive Adult ADHD care also. I am pleased with the testing process and all it entails. It has been very challenging for everyone in the medical field since Covid. I always appreciate the care Mom and I receive.

I ve been a patient here since before they moved location and have had some of the worst experiences. Sierra is lovely, but I had to stop going because of the receptionists. They are always extremely rude and even caused me to have a panic attack. Today, I called to make an appointment out of sheer necessity and was once again met with the most awful woman i ve ever spoken to. I have on multiple occasions been refused refills on my medication, even if my appointment was a week away, because I hadn t been in for a check up. A few months ago, I came in for my appointment and the receptionist told me she wasn t able to tell me how much my appointment was going to cost. I tried to leave as I wasn t comfortable being seen without knowing the cost, and she charged me a cancellation fee. If you want your health to always be a question mark, this is the place to go -I was contacted about this google review by the manager. After being spoken over, my concerns disregarded, and being discriminated against about my age, i was then hung up on and called little girl . Since leaving a review, instead of them trying to see my point of view, I was dropped as a patient. Clearly, they do not care about anyone or their experience, they only care about how their office looks, even though they proceed to be awful. To the manager I spoke to today, if you re so concerned with your office s image, maybe treat your patients with a little respect.

Never have had problems with check in/check out, and I ve NEVER felt more comfortable with a healthcare provider than I do with Sierra! I will stay with her as long as I possibly can. She is one of the few that really listens to patients needs and never shuts me down. Highly recommend for people struggling with chronic illness/mental health and felt like they haven t been heard by past providers.

As someone with a chronic illness, I am very familiar with the headache that is the hunt for a good doctor. Abundant Health has been AMAZING thus far, thanks to Amanda Hunt. I have never in my life actually been *excited* for a Drs Appointment, eager to talk about how *well* I am doing. Amanda is so sweet and welcoming, and really takes the time to listen and find out what will work for you. 10/10 would recommend and Im so thankful that I found her!

I am now an extra $800 in debt for no reason because of this office. I went in for severe back pain due to an injury I received as a teenager, and now that I have insurance I wanted to finally find out what actually happened and if there was treatment. I was unable to see an actual doctor, and had to see some PA named Sofia who was just TERRIBLE. She didnt introduce herself, she asked no questions about the injury, she didnt perform any sort of physical exam, she clearly wanted to be done as quickly as possible, and as a result she ordered an MRI on the wrong area. She also interrupted and talked over me the entire time and made me feel defensive, like I had to explain myself to her. She was aggressive and abrasive. They asked me to come back in to go over the results and any concerns I raised were interrupted and brushed off completely before she shared a bunch of anecdotal experiences that had NOTHING to do with me (then again, she never asked questions so thats not surprising). Then she handed me two pieces of paper with info I had already been told over the phone, and I had to pay for this visit. I made it very clear I wanted allergy testing done in this same visit (really the only reason I came in, I already knew the results) but they scheduled it too late in the day. Went to someone else that actually asked questions and he realized immediately that its far more likely the injury is in my neck, and not my back, due to the nature of the injury. Abundant waste of my time and money.

Have had her as my Family Practice Doctor for 5 years, but have never met or been introduced to her. When I asked to make an appointment with her, I was told she doesnt see patients. I only see her PA. That is the reason I changed FP doctors. Didnt feel I was important enough with DR. Grun.

I cannot express how blessed I feel to FINALLY connect with a medical professional as I did on my visit with Sofia Luna, PA! From the initial call to Abundant Health, I felt as if I found my provider. When Sofia walked in the doors, I instantly received warmth and peace, which I had been looking for. I have been struggling with Asthma and breathing issues for over 4 year. Nothing seemed to help. Every night when I would go to bed fluid would build in my lungs causing me to wheeze and cough. This caused me not to be able to get full nights sleep in many years. That all changed when I finally met with Amanda Hunt. She took the time to find a prescription that worked and has changed my life ever since taking it! Due to her taking the time to understand what I was struggling with and her knowledge of what would work I have finally been breathing better and sleeping all night or the first time in Years! While this past year has been hectic for every medical establishment, Dr Grun and her staff have went out of their way to see patients and take care of their healthcare needs. Sissy Williamson here. I have only positive things to say about Abundant Health. Ive been seeing Dr.Grun and her PAs for over 10 years. When I had pneumonia several years ago and developed another issue that required surgery, Dr. Grun and Sierra took care of setting me up with a surgeon and a Pulmonologist immediately. All turned out well thanks to them. I never feel rushed when I have an appointment and get answers to all my questions either from the medical staff or office staff. Love all of these women!!!

Was my doctor before I moved to North Carolina returned a year later and did not want to make an appointment for me UNTIL paperwork was completed on line....I explained I couldnt do it.....to them Paperwork is more important than the patient....turned me away when I was sick and needed care.....glad they did cause I found a much better doctor at Guadalupe family health.

I was looking to find a new doctor. I called the office, first of all I was to ask if I filled out the paperwork online and I said no, how was I supposed to know that? Then the lady on the phone told me that the nurse practitioner is the only one that see s new patients. I can t see anyone else but the Nurse practitioner for a new appointment. So I decided not to do this because I don t want to see a nurse practitioner. The nurse practitioner is the lowest on the totem pole they wouldn t even let me see a PA or a doctor. So I won t be going to them.

I Was pretty happy with service at first but it s been increasingly negative. For example I ve been sitting in my truck for 30 minutes in the parking lot waiting to go in for an appointment that was scheduled half an hour ago and can t get anyone to pick up the phone. The reception staff can be very short and come off as rude sometimes. I don t know, I think they could improve on making their patients feel a little more prioritized.

All of the staff is very kinda and work fast to get you inside. They do health screenings before we go in and there is a bit of a wait but its understandable, its like waiting in a waiting room but in your car! This office who we have trusted for the last 10 years has gone down hill hard. The staff is absolutely Unorganized and dismissive. Originally just me and my husband went here but after we had a child they said they seen children so he s been going there as well. Initially everything was great but within the last eight months when you think that you should be able to rely on your provider the most they have been extremely dismissive they have lied and made seeing your healthcare provider a nightmare. And then when I put a review up about being displeased with not getting any calls back with my child was sick, And how they Canceled our appointment while we were sitting in the parking lot it had been waiting two months for this appointment, Over vaccinated my child and then told me he would need more vaccinations because they wouldn t count, They really just hung us out to dry when we needed them. So because I wrote a review I got this letter in the mail where they no longer want to treat us! Not that it was a surprise because we already had established a new doctor because we just could not take the lack of care there. More details to come

We love the PA but since covid started it has taken 15-20 minutes on average just to pick up a prescription. They wont answer the phone or the door and if you try and flag one of the staff down while they are doing curbside screening of patients they tell you to call. If they are going to do it this way they really need to have a line that forwards to a cell specifically for picking up scripts. Once they do answer you still have to pay $10 for your wait. EDIT: When my wife called and spoke with the office manager she asked why they are being so negative and rude when clients express frustration. She was told its better we just dont come back. We try to always give constructive feedback and we did say we love the medical professionals just not the delays lately. We presented a few ideas and were met with hostility. Looking at other negative reviews it certainly seems like a pattern any time someone offers any opinions. Customer feedback makes or breaks businesses and it is very unfortunate two office staff members tarnish the reputation of some fantastic medical professionals.

Jeanette is the best PCP I have ever had. Ive been loyal to this establishment for PCP because of her. I have gone through some incredibly difficult times and she helped me through it. She is so kind, pleasant, and listens. I also want to give a shout out to Rachel, their allergist. She is phenomenal and always making me laugh when I come visit. Dr. Grun please do not ever let these women get away!

Yesterday I posted a derogatory review about one of dr grunns staff members. After posting this message I was immediately hit with an anslaught of calls and threats of legal action against me and out of my better judgement and respect for the neighbors of this staff member whom she has been constantly tormenting and harassing!! Im sorry but the truth needs to be told. This stafff member is a horrible person who says horrible things to her neighbor whom she constantly harasses cause she thinks shes someone who has been given authority over others and that everyone is below her! Two of the neighbors of hers that she harasses are of very poor health yet she continues to exert her nasty negative opinions of their daughter to them.! Something must be done to end this womans harassment and bullying of these innocent people who just want to live a peaceful life like any other person does!! Who likes to have the busy body super nosey over intrusive and overbearing neighbor that is from hell and of terror stories? Who even said or asked for her opinion in the first place? Dr grunn Im sure is a wonderful and amazing Dr. ! I know she has been here in NB for a long time and its unfortunate that one of her employees is just really a bully and a cruel, bitter rable-rouser. Who cried wolf when she has no proof of anything. I am stunned to find that a woman who is as angry and ugly as this staff member is even in the field of helping others??!! I cant say this staff members name but she isnt a Dr or a rn Im pretty sure she does financial or something like that?? I will attempt to disuade anyone I know from going to see Dr grunn as long as such a bike staff member is knowingly employees there. If you think you legal action to take upon me then please do what you deem necessary bad good luck. Worry bout your own family and leave your neighbors alone you big bully!!!

Abundant Family Medicines staff is exceptional. Jeanette Naschke and Sierra Santellana, as well as their medical assistants, give me their complete and undivided attention each visit. Every complaint is gone over by the PAs thoroughly and each visit is personable. When I signed up for this offices program the paperwork was clear that I would be seen by a Physician Assistant and Im very appreciative for the work they do at the office. I will definitely remain a patient at this office as long as possible.

I recently had an appointment and expected to see Kacey Glasscock instead I saw Jeanette Naschke. I was extremely happy about this change. She really listened to me and seemed to actually want to help ME. I felt like more was accomplished in that one appt. than in the entire time I have gone there. I am pleased to have her as my doctor now and I reccomend this office now after the recent changes. The staff has always been professional and and welcoming. I never have to wait a long time to be called back which is great. Also my grandmother sees Sierra Santellana and is also very pleased with her time there.

Since moving to New Braunfels my wife and I both go to Abundanr Health and have been seeing PA Angela Nolan and her nurse AJ. We have always been treAted by Angela and AJ as family. They are always very professional and genuinely care about our well being and strive for us to lead a healthier lifestyle. I would highly recommend these 2 professionals to anyone that asks for a referral. Sadly though yesterday was Angela s last day at Abundant as she is to open a new chapter in her life and profession. Primarily I see P.A. Sierra, and at times I have seen Jeanette. They are wonderful! Even though they are very busy, Sierra always takes time to talk to me and makes sure she explains everything before I leave. All of the staff are so kind and caring. It s hard to their kind of compassion anymore. I would highly recommend them.

Called this morning for an appointment for my brother. They actually had several appointments available! We saw PA Kacie, she checked my brother out and looked at his medical record. She told us he had been in for the same symptoms in April. At that time she told us it was allergy related. She advised us to take Zyrtec and mucinex-dm for the cough and congestion. Also if he had trouble sleeping he could take a Benadryl. If he didn t feel any better in a couple of days to call back.

The physician assistant my wife and I saw was outwardly nice on our initial visit. We were directed downstairs for labs. Nothing went well or logical after that. I had to refer myself and find a specialist on my own due to no one helping in this office. I called several times for referrals or opinions and after several voicemails left, no response. No response. After a second opinion on my situation, and my wifes labs, everything turned around for us to the positive. The lab downstairs is apparently affiliated with this Dr, ok, but the treatment I received was not comfortable. The labs on a second opinion were different also. That being said, the only thing that prompts this review is a perceived lack of follow up caring or response unless your a favored patient.

I have normal middle age issues, been to many doctors in the area for them..my health care changed and I had to change doctors. I could not be more grateful. The staff are amazing and super super sweet. They literally got things done for me that other doctors lagged about for years and sometimes never got done. You will be meeting with a PA but these PAs are amazing. Grun herself is a classic old time do everything family doctor and now hosts the entire establishment. I really would not want my family anywhere else and we are super super pleased. 5 stars.

I received horrible service here. My referral was sent to the wrong type of specialist the first time. The next referral was never sent. I have to call to follow up even to get prescriptions sent to the pharmacy. I have to call multiple times to follow up to get anything done.

The wait time was always way too long. I needed records faxed for life insurance and I called 5 times and every time they transferred me to someones voicemail who never returned my call and never faxed my records. I finally had to show up and wait for over an hour to have my records faxed. I go somewhere else now.

I called and specifically asked to see Dr. Grun, for my husband to have a yearly checkup, he has some serious health issues, diabetes, heart colon, and was told shes not taking patients. I explained he was not a new patient but an existing one and she said that she wasnt excepting any patients? I told her it was okay if it would be a few weeks was not needing in right away. Im sorry but this is confusing to me? Its HER practice but shes not seeing patients? This has been going on for a long time. The front desk staff is very rude and treat you like your bothering them. I would not recommend this office to anyone.

Ive been seeing Michelle, one of the NPs (or she may be a PA. Im not sure which one) at this office for about a year now, and I have never had any problems! Really good experience working with PA Nolen. Established a good working relationship with her and have not been disappointed. They have been very thorough in treating my various ailments and diagnosing preventive therapies using the latest best industry practices and best medications. They have been working extra hard to meet my insurers questions concerning prescriptions and previous lab work (done at a different facility in a different town). They will go the extra mile for you if you are willing to work with them. Dealing with pharmacies and insurers are always a challenge but they will stick by you.

I can not say enough about Dr. Grun and her staff. I feel blessed to have found her. Angela works at the front desk. She is one of the sweetest people I have ever met. Shes always smiling and quick to answer questions. AJ, Dr. Gruns nurse is the most incredible nurses I have ever met. Shes charismatic and attentive. Shell have a conversation with you. I know that Dr. Grun is seeing less patients now but trust me when I say that ALL of her PAs (which by the way, are not the same as nurses. They diagnose just as a doctor) are top notch. Each one has a different personality and they all consult with Dr. Grun. I will never another doctor. Shes my Primary for life!

I went to this office once, and I regret it and will never go back. Since going, I have spoken to 17 people, who report almost identical experiences with being billed for appointments they did not make and for being prevented from speaking to the person in charge of billing and the office manager because they were told these individuals were not in the office and unavailable (during the days and times the office is posted as being open). I made the appointment when I first moved to the area and did not know anyone to ask for a referral. All I needed was a standard prescription refill on a medication I have taken for over 10 years. Despite this simple request, I still received terrible service. The practioner rushed me, did not listen to my questions, and was too distracted checking her watch and computer to listen, as evidenced by her asking me questions that I had just answered in the last breath. The office staff was unprofessional and was to busy arguing amongst themselves to allow me to check in and out. I did not make another appointment because of the terrible service I received; however, I received a bill for a missed appointment several months later. I wanted to be finished with the office once and for all and paid the fee. I just didnt have the time and did not want to go through the hassle of contesting it. And wouldnt you know, despite my paying immediately for a missed appointment that I did not make, I continue to receive monthly bills for the missed appointment. In order to address this, Ive called 13 times during posted hours of operation and also ensuring I did not call during lunch time. I also document date and times that I call and document the first and last names of each person with whom I speak (most have the last name Grun). Everytime I call, I am told the office manager is not in the office. When I request to speak to the person in charge of billing, I am told she cannot be contacted because she works off site. I leave messages to request a return call and I never receive calls back. When I request an email address, so that I can reach someone, anyone in the office, I am told they do not have an email account and do not use email. I have never even come close to dealing with something like this. I am sure they are used to people being too busy to keep track of bills and insurance and they just pay like I did originally - or people get so fed up with not being able to speak to the people they request to speak with and when they never receive return phone calls they are forced to pay charges that are incorrect. I am following up with the better business bureau in hopes that no one ever has to go through what I have with this office. It has been a 10 month ordeal.

BEWARE - HUGE health risk, very unprofessional. I have been left without meds important to my health because I changed insurance plans. I have been under Dr. Gruns care for some time now. When I showed up for my appointment today, I was coldly rejected because I signed up for my new BCBS insurance on the Market Place. She is in network and I am in good standing. I understand it is the Doctors decision on which insurance to take. But, as a current patient, who switched insurance plans (the new one still showing her in network), I would have expected to be treated professionally with some kind of exit plan that had my well-being in mind. I am distraught to say, this is not the case. I was flippantly turned away at the door. So, if you are a current patient (or are considering becoming one), lose your job and think you are doing the right thing by signing up on the Market Place, be ready to be treated like a second class citizen and be prepared to find another Doctor.

It all started when I moved to New Braunfels, TX from Phoenix, AZ. I had to get a local primary care provider and my wife wanted someone she felt comfortable with so she chose Tanya Grun. Well not being that particular about my doctor (as long as good service was provided) I decided to set an appointment as well. The first thing that struck me when I stepped into the office was that it resembled a renovated home of sorts. The second thing that hit me as quite odd was the fact that I never got to see the doctor. What I saw was some Nurse Practitioner instead. Well I wasnt one to rock the boat but I had come in for a full physical examination. What I got was five minutes with a nurse practitioner and blood and urine samples taken. Im 50 at the time of this appointment and I think they should have done a DRE but they didnt. They did suggest a colonoscopy because of my age and I also decided (not at their request) to get a skin cancer screening while I was at it. Fast forward three months: Im traveling out of state. I get a severe gout attack (which they were made aware of when I was in the office for the exam) while on the road. I call Dr. Gruns office to have them phone in a prescription for me so that I wouldnt be hobbling around for the entire trip. I left a message with the prescriptionista I think her name was D something. She never called me back. That was at 9:30 a.m. TX time on a weekday. Fast forward: I call back a few hours later. Im informed by D that the Nurse Practitioner that I had seen was out sick and that they couldnt prescribe anything for me until she said it was okay. She also assured me that she would hear something that day and call me as soon as she did. I thanked her and hung up. Fast forward: 4:30 p.m.: I call. Im in severe pain. The phone is busy for about ten minutes. I finally get through. I get to D and she sounds a little miffed. I asked her about the prescription. She said that she hasnt heard back from the NP. I asked her who would write the prescription for the NP if she didnt make it back in. She said: Dr. Grun. I asked: Is she there now? She said Yes. I asked: Can we have her write the prescription? She said: Well thats not our protocol. PROTOCOL? REALLY? Youve got a patient, out of state, with a medical condition and in PAIN and youre going to tell me that you have PROTOCOL? I told her flatly that I travel for a living and that if I cant depend on my primary care provider to give me service while Im on the road that I was going to have to change providers. Here was Ds response: YOU DO WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO. I asked her, in desperation, if she could call me back within an hour with an answer either way. She hung up on me. I never heard back from D at Dr. Gruns office. So I fired them. I strongly suggest that anyone who wants a real doctor who will really treat them like a patient instead of a number and see them instead of pawning some NP off on them while charging real doctor rates then seek treatment elsewhere. I had to go out at night, in severe pain, in a strange town, searching for an after hours clinic and fortunately found one that took better care of me in one unscheduled visit than my entire experience with Dr. Gruns office. Stay away from these people. Theyre just taking your money.

The staff is incredibly helpful. We contacted my HR partner to get my updated health insurance. I have twice been able to get appointments on very short notice because they do not over book. In a previous visit, Sierra was amazing. She always listens and really cares about you and helping you with whatever health issue youre facing.
