I disliked it because the food was awful, truly completely awful, on top of it extremely expensive. The pasta felt like eating a bowl of canola oil , chicken was scary to eat also... Their service and atmosphere were amazing, however, for the prices they need a new kitchen.

I cannot believe the level of disrespect and rudeness I experienced at this restaurant. From the moment I walked in, the staff made it clear that they did not want to serve me. The waiter was incredibly rude and dismissive. I couldnt even enjoy my meal because of how uncomfortable and unwelcome I felt. I will never be returning to this establishment and will be sure to warn others about the terrible customer service they can expect to receive.

The only thing I have to say about this restaurant if you re hungry do not come here because the portions are very, very small and very expensive. The risotto and maybe 1 tablespoon of rice in it. I m not sure where the chef is buying the shrimp but is the smallest shrimp I ever seen. Gnocchi extremely salty, and the service never returned to pick up the table.

We were searching for something not knowing what. On the river walk there are so many restaurants it really hard to decide which one you give a chance to try. The feel and ambiance as we walked by Zocca fit perfectly for the evening stroll. To our surprise and delight the service was the best. We sat on the patio overlooking the water with boats filled with people pass by. No expectations on what dinner to experience we started with appetizers and drinks. Finally selected the awesome filet and a bowl of Texas chile (no beans). If you order the Texas corn bread you will not be disappointed. More food than we could eat, the service was fantastic.

Exquisite dining experience! From the charming river walk side ambiance to the impeccable service, this Italian gem deserves every star. The menu boasts authentic flavors crafted with precision, tantalizing the taste buds with each bite. Whether indulging in creamy pastas or savoring wood-fired pizzas, every dish is a culinary masterpiece. Pair that with a stellar wine selection and breathtaking views, and you have a dining excursion worth savoring. A must-visit for any connoisseur of fine Italian/texas cuisine!

If you can get a negative star.....It was a Sunday evening. The place was half empty. The service was horrible. The waiter admitted to putting breakfast toast in the toaster instead of the usual nice Italian bread. The food was bland. It came out sporadically. To add insult to injury, 18% service charge and 18% suggested tip.....GO ELSEWHERE!!!

We went to dinner at 5:30pm on Sunday April 7. Waiter didn t stick around long enough for me to give this honest review in person. I spent $180 here and I m still dealing with swollen ankles from eating here because of the sodium content. We were not served quality Italian food at this restaurant. We ordered the seafood risotto tonight for dinner in addition to other food and it was basically creamed corn with a few grains of rice. Very disappointing especially since it was $31. The food overall was over-salted. The margarita was too acidic, the Negroni was really sweet, when it s supposed to not be. The drinks were not good. Ceasar salad had 2 anchovies and was not evenly dressed. Polenta had a ton of the same kind of corn that was in the risotto dish and was too salty. I feel bloated after eating here. On the plus side, it s on the Riverwalk, but there are plenty of restaurant here. I would not come back or recommend.

We were unable to eat here. First, despite having a reservation, we were made to wait while they sorted tables, trying to find us one. Next, we get in, sit down, and wait. We wait for 30 minutes with no one coming up to us even to ask for a drink order. Finally, after going up to the hosts stand to ask for a server to come to our table, we are only then informed that due to being backed up, food orders are taking upwards of 45 minutes to come out. I am empathetic that they are busy and have some organizational issues, but that should have been communicated to us right at the start. Incredibly poor service and communication.

Worth the wait! I did the build your own pasta with the gluten free pasta & parmesan cheese sauce, which was delicious - being able to mix & match their pasta options to all be GF was great. Husband got the chicken parm & absolutely loved it too. Portion sizes were very generous! We chose 4/5 as for an Italian restaurant, we were hoping for a bread appetizer that most restaurants offer, but we didn t have that. And we do agree with the other reviewers that it is a little slow, but it s absolutely worth the wait. Staff were all very kind & personable!

It was our one year anniversary. I received an email from Westin inviting us to a private Mardi Gras celebration on the riverwalk, so I reserved our spot. When we got out there, they said that that I didnt pay the deposit, but nowhere on OpenTable said that I had to pay a deposit. Then the manager from Zocca said that the people outside paid a lot of money to get those tables, Almost as if we couldnt afford it, That was the bottom line, They didnt do anything to accommodate us. The Westin Hotel concierge,Phyllis, helped us and found a great place to eat at the last minute.

Ill start off by saying the food, when we finally got it, was excellent. I had the Seafood Risotto and my wife had the fish and both completely cleaned our plates. The service, however, was lacking in a number of different ways. The server, while a pleasant guy, was not very present and we had to ask three times to get my wifes water refilled. Our initial drink order took about 20 minutes to make it to the table, and our dinners took about an hour and a half. The server explained that the kitchen was really backed up, but this was at 6 pm and the dining room was about 75% full, so a busy night must real throw them for a tizzy. There was no identifiable manager on the floor talking to people and trying to engage in any kind of customer service. Overall, while the food was good, I would not recommend

We were in town for the marathon this weekend and had made reservations for 6:30 knowing it s going to be a busy weekend. We got there at 6:20 and were told they are backed up and running a little behind. No problem until an hour later we were finally seated and were told the food is AT LEAST going to take another hour.. we called around and found an open spot at a different restaurant so we ended up going there. We wanted to eat at 6:30, ended up eating at 8:30 at a different place because the hostess was not honest about the wait time and the restaurant was NOT prepared for race weekend. There were MANY open tables at Zocca. I realize they didn t have the staff but that s probably something to make sure to take care of on a weekend where a lot of things are going on in the city including a marathon. Can t comment on the food because we didn t get to try it.

The food was pretty good, and the atmosphere was amazing. The only reason for the 4 stars was that the pepperoni pizza for my daughter had a vodka sauce. It was new for her and myself as a pizza sauce and honestly mid for me. Its not a bad idea, just poor execution, I may have liked it more if I knew in advance that it was not a marinara base. The peaches and cream is not what I imagined in my head. However, it is a delicious start to the meal. It is more of a cheesy deliciousness that pairs well with the salad and bread. The pasta was cooked nicely, once I realized it was a hollow noodle.

We were on the Riverwalk for the first time in years enjoying the quieter, less touristy area of the river and we saw the beautiful riverside patio area at Zocca in the Westin. Since it was Saturday in November, we stopped in at the bar for a midafternoon snack from the happy hour menu and realized the college football games were on their big screens. The bartender (Priscilla, I think) was very busy, but she made sure everyone was happy finding their teams game. She was efficient and friendly, placing our order while juggling patrons from a cultural festival going on. She even got our order placed with a few changes requested to the food. It was a relaxing and accomodating experience.

Our server Stephanie was really nice and friendly. However when I asked her why my Pollo No-Impanato doesnt come with pancetta and she said it doesnt come with it so I checked the menu again and it says in there that comes with it. Food. Food it was ok, I ordered Pollo No-Impanato and it was too lemony, pasta and chicken was dry and no Pancetta. thats why I ordered it because of Pancetta. Its ok maybe they are too busy and not enough staff the time we went there 10-2-23 at 7pm Atmosphere. It was amazing! From the settings, design of the place was great. Ill be honest with you, I was extremely disappointed. I mean the food is okay I just barely could eat it. Vegetarian options: This restaurant does not offer many vegetarian options which I am only a upset about this because I cannot eat most of the meats that they serve at this restaurant, for example Im unable to eat pork and many types of seafood that is why I was disappointed to find that they were few foods I could actually eat. Dietary restrictions: Not very friendly towards dietary restrictions. Do your research before coming. Kid-friendliness: So this is advertised its an Italian restaurant I would say its not very kid-friendly because on the kids menu I can clearly see that the foods they served were American and while I understand that most Italian foods in America are you know Italian-American and that is why theres such a difference in many foods, I do not understand why you cant try finding Italian dishes that children might enjoy. I come to enjoy talian or at least Italian American cuisine when I come to an Italian restaurant. Of course I am not a child so I do not eat off the childrens menu but I think that if I was a child to be kind of disappointed.

I did not want to create problems our waiter only filled out water twice also ridiculous for him to walk out there where there was no reason tables were available we did stay at hotel 5 nights and had breakfast inside.

Atmosphere is very nice, especially outside. Staff are very friendly but at times can be a little slow, which is not a big deal considering it can get pretty busy. The food is not worth the price and is what I would consider below average, however, I understand that you are also paying for being on the river walk. Would only go to have drinks and sit down in a quiet place with my family, not for the food.

Stopped by for brunch due to the restaurant being conveniently located in the Westin where I stayed. Had a mimosa, Texas tea, and shared the chicken salad wrap. The wrap was really good and included grapes, celery, and the chicken was flavored nicely. Drinks were good also. Available seating outside on the riverwalk and inside. Very clean and staff were very friendly. Live music right outside among the tables was nice. As other have said, bread/oil is not provided here, but many really good appetizer/shareable options available.

Extremely disappointed with this restaurant!!! My family and I had high hopes, being that it is located inside the Westin and is on the Riverwalk! The food took almost an hour and a half to get to us after ordering, and some of the meals were either cold, dry, tasteless or all 3!!! The sad part is the restaurant wasn t even that busy, so not sure what was going on in the kitchen. Will definitely not waste my time or money going back there!

our server was not great, we were left sitting for a very long time. at least the view of the river was great! my husband ordered a pasta dish that was supposed to have shrimp, anchovies, olives & capers; he gets a plate of pasta with red sauce and nothing else! we told the waiter thats not what we ordered, and showed him what we ordered on the menu. he argued that thats what it was! once we convinced him, he brought him the right dish, but it was missing half of what was supposed to be on it!!

They are friendly but extremely slow in service. The food did not stand out in good taste, very normal. It is difficult to believe that in the US a place is not prepared to receive more people than normal at a convention that happens every year. And they use that as justification to the customer who is upset by the bad service.

My wife and I stayed ate at Zocca on two separate occasions during our stay. Both times, we received excellent service and delicious food. Zocca is located on a quieter part of the riverwalk which I really enjoyed and find to be a nice relief from the crowded and loud parts elsewhere. For lunch, we got the burger and the lemon chicken sandwich. Both were good, but we both agreed that the lemon chicken sandwich was better (and the focaccia was delicious). We also went for a light dinner and ordered mocktails, appetizers, and a salad to share. The mocktails were delicious and a lot more thought out than just virgin cocktails. My wife (pregnant on this trip) really appreciated the non-alcoholic offerings. The food at dinner was also great with unique offerings such as the peaches and cream (pictured). My wife and I both enjoyed the restaurant and would recommend it to others.

There aren t enough adjectives to describe my disappointment with this restaurant. To begin with, they don t serve pasta for lunch. What self respecting Italian restaurant doesn t serve pasta? That s like McDonald s not serving cheeseburgers. We arrived at 1:30 pm and ordered a pizza and sandwich by 1:40 pm. There were maybe 6 to 8 tables of customers and less than half a dozen people at the bar. The restaurant was 75% empty. Despite this and the simplicity of our order it didn t come out of the kitchen until 2:20 pm (they close at 3 pm). By that time I had enough and told the waitress we were leaving and would not be eating or paying for the food. We left and found a real Italian restaurant shortly thereafter. If a kitchen is this dysfunctional completing your order, just imagine the conditions of the kitchen. The only positive was the location, but plenty of places along the river walk have the same view. Avoid this restaurant at all costs.

The food was 5 stars! And so was our waiter, Michael! If I didn t have such a terrible experience otherwise, they would have gotten an actual 5 star review. All of the staff, with the exception of our waiter, was awful. We were the last table in the section and they decided to completely tear apart the dinner section to get ready for breakfast- while we were eating. Nothing better than complaining staff, people clanging silverware in your ears and sweeping all around you to make you feel like you re on a date. Appreciate y all rushing us out- we won t be back. You need considerate staff. Preferably some that know how smile. Absolutely ridiculous.

The experience was ok. My roommate and I picked a place close by because we had plans later. When we got there, the bar was fairly full but one larger party left and two people that came in at the same time as us went to the bar and there was one table of two people. It was understandable why the hostess wasn t there because it hadn t gotten busy yet. But I watched multiple servers standing there looking at us. It was maybe 2 minutes before one of them told us the hostess would be right with us. The hostess was nice and tried to seat us close to the back of the restaurant. There were two servers in the back that looked less than pleased and told the hostess it wasn t good there and then she moved us to a table in the middle of the restaurant. (Note that by the time we have finished and left only one large table was occupied in that area. All the other tables were empty still) The server was fine neither good or bad just fine. I have had better service in cheaper restaurants to be honest. I ordered a cocktail it was $16 and packed to the top with ice, had 4 slices of fruit, and did not have much to drink. I have paid the same for cocktails at nicer places and have gotten much more to drink. Our appetizer we ordered said on the menu it was supposed to come with artisan bread but it was like a cracker. Which is so strange because another table had actual bread with whatever appetizer they got. The appetizer was ok. My roommate and I both got the gnocchi, which we agreed was greasy and was just expensive Mac and cheese with uncooked Brussel sprout leaves dispersed on the top. And the meat that was supposed to come with it, was dried and sprinkled on the top. It reminded me of bacon bits. Our gnocchi was $29 each. There was a smokey smell coming from the kitchen like burning wood. Upon paying our bill which was the most we saw our server, we left. Keep in mind I have worked in restaurants for years and always try to be understanding. I don t believe in wasting food so we ate everything we ordered. I also don t eat out much and this was so disappointing and just a waste of almost $100. Just go somewhere else.
