Great place! Had a great time that evening. Friends Reunion We had a blast. Waitress/servers were amazing They kept them coming for the guys . They (staff) were extremely helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend it. Parking: Open parking lot in the plaza. Security is stationed outside the door of the facility which does add that little extra protection. Well for law abiding citizens that is. Kid-friendliness: Our friends had their 2 year old daughter there Needless to say they are extremely family friendly.

How is this allowed? See photo below. I had ONE beer. And paid CASH! Technology Fee?! Laughable. Of course, no longer going here.

Wow! I don t know where to start. My boyfriend and I went around 9 pm on a Friday night. It was already very packed- but we found a table close by the bar and were almost immediately greeted by a server. Her name was Luna and she was the sweetest. It was our first time going and she was so patient, kept recommending us drinks. They have so many! Not just beer, but also Cider and all sorts of cocktails and they were DELICIOUS. I m most impressed by how FAST everything came out. Everytime we ordered a drink, in 2 minutes we had it in our hands. It made our evening so enjoyable! We tried their Thundersticks appetizer which are two HUGE fried mozza sticks covered in hot Cheeto dust and it was delicious. We also ordered their Buffalo chicken Potachos and they were incredible. Cheesy, seasoned, spicy. The music they played was a variety of 80 s, 90 s and early 2000 s. For about 10 drinks and 2 entrees we paid about $100 some dollars. Very impressed and will be coming back!

Update 9/11/24 - A shout out to the person who mans Messenger! I reached out earlier in the day to ask if they had non-alcoholic beer. I received an answer within a few minutes. We went to celebrate my husband s birthday and had a great time trying different items on the menu. Baja tacos, chicken Cajun pasta. Service was also great. Only comment I have is I wish I could see my bill before paying for it. 4/2024 - Great to get a pizza and beer. There is indoors and outdoor seating. The pizza was fantastic, different combinations. The beer, if you like IPA, flights or single serving were great.

Went to a gathering of friends and family at Howling Rabbits a week ago. The party was out in the covered patio. We all finally arrived and honored my eldest grandson since he was going to be a new daddy ! The waitress was kept very busy, but she held her own and served all 20 who attended ! The food was great, and so was the craft beer ! I had never been here before, but Howling Rabbits was a great venue, and Ill be coming back soon.

Tuesday night it trivia night. It wasn t over crowded like it is on the weekends.I had the fried shrimp basket that came with chingos of fries. They also have plenty of tv monitors to watch any sport. They have an outside area. The waitress was really attentive. Trivia night was awesome it was held by over the fence they have an Instagram so go check them out! Parking: Plenty of parking spaces on a Tuesday night.

My only complaint could be that the patio door was broken and so they had to keep it open, letting in the hot air. Food was delicious, even as leftovers. Burger was tasty, well seasoned beef. Salty delicious goodness. Hawaiian pizza was and the pretzel, rivaling pretzel shops.

Went there for the first time this past weekend. Part of the newest development in Uptown McAllen. It s a happening place with large selection of food and drinks. It s a big establishment with outdoor seating too. Great place to watch sports game and have a drink. Highly recommend.

I heard about this place and decided to try it. After seating, Ive noticed 5 waitresses texting and talking with guys at the bar. One noticed me and continued texting. Bartender noticed me and nothing. One waitress passed by my table and ignored me. Waited for 15 minutes and no service. The place was not busy, and it was obvious the establishment had plenty of staff. Came to Wallbangers, was seated promptly and order was taken within 5min. Oh yeah, the staff was not trying to hook up with the customers.

Howling Rabbits just crowned victor of Explore McAllens Food Madness contest. Yet, my visit left me wondering... HOW DID THEY PULL THAT OFF?! First impressions were promising the newly built joint looks great & has mad parking, cozy seating, and a charming outdoor patio for smokers. With TVs aplenty, looks like a good place to see your favorite sports team or a fight night. The manager on the April 27th was very inviting & accommodating to our needs, especially with three little ones in tow. He grabbed us a high chain for our toddler as soon as he saw him in our arms. But it was our waitress, with her signature SidetalkNYC Tims boots, who truly stole the spotlight! Her attentive service elevated our experience, despite a nasty hiccup with the initial appetizer plates filled with crumbs and past food particles. Our waitress was very apologetic and replaced the plates very quickly. The dirty plates and bland food did not affect our waitress s tip amount, as these errors fall on the dish washer & cook. Now, onto the main event the food. I mean, that s why we re here! While the presentation was on point and dishes arrived mad fresh, flavor was extremely bland. Our fried pickles were the only item that had flavor! The burgers and Philly cheesesteak although large, failed to impress. Its clear that winning a popularity contest doesnt equate to culinary excellence. Despite the disappointment in the food department, I cant fault the staff. Their dedication and warmth salvaged what could have been a complete letdown. However, with a bill totaling +$90, I cant help but wish I had taken my son for his birthday lunch somewhere else. This place is a gem They have their draft beer straight from the vats. Fresh taste and good quality. Every weekday there is a good food special and happy hour from 3-6! We happened to stop in on a Tuesday (Taco Tuesday). They had 4/5/6 dollar taco protein options. We had the two 4 dollar protein options. Each order comes with 3 tacos. The first was carnitas which had both a red and green sauce, pickled onions and cilantro. It all came together very nicely. The second order we put in was for the Gochuchang tacos- pork with a sweet and spicy Asian sauce and coleslaw topping, this was my favorite of the two. As for drinks, I was able to try the two stouts on tap, Bunny Bunches of Oats, oatmeal coffee Stout and Pardon my French, English Stout. Both were very smooth. The Pardon my French was my favorite, it was a sweeter pick of the two. Then we went on to try the Big zam - which had Sweet notes, kinda malty flavour, not overbearing, surprised me because its the strongest beer on the menu but you wouldnt know straight off. Watermelon- very light, crisp, hit first with the sparkling/carbonated feel, left with heavy wheat notes Palm City blonde - light lager, reminds me of a Czech craft brew. Guava - not overly sour, strong fruit notes, light and refreshing. Summer beer, perfect for by the pool. 7.1% alcohol. But dont taste it!

Definitely what McAllen needed. A non-chain sports bar with a good ambience for either watching a game or just casually hanging out with friends. The drinks are great whether its their beer or mixed cocktails. The food is the tacos and pizza variety, but both are unique enough and done well enough that Ive been satisfied each time. The patio area is great with a big screen on one wall and plenty of fans to keep everything cool even in the summer. The service has also been great. Even with packed openings, they seem to have enough people working where I havent felt neglected once. The beer selection has been pretty great so far, and definitely one of the best you can get in the valley. I am hoping for some more stouts and porters on the menu, but maybe in the future. Update: Their menu and beer have both continued to get better, including more stouts! The food is actually great for the price, and the beer continues to improve and there is a good selection. They have also kept the place well staffed and we have not had any issues with the service. Love this place.

Very okay overall. I was looking forward to checking this place out for a few days. For me it was a 3, but if I was just looking for a place to have drinks and listen to good music then it probably be a 4. I would say this is a good place to drink and then maybe get some drunk food, but not a place to go if food is your first goal. The Ribeye Street Tacos were incredible greasy! A stream of oil came out when you picked them up. Thats not an exaggeration...it wasnt quick drops of oil...a stream! The burger was ok, the Philly cheese was ok. The outside tables are ok, a little wobbly, but the chairs are definitely on the uncomfortable side. I only had one server, so I cant judge the place on one experience, but, the service was ok. It wasnt bad, just nothing to get exited about. I was hoping to order a second beer, but our server got a little scarce at the end, so no second beer. They also do the thing where the server just brings out the card reader and tells you the total instead of providing a receipt for you to review. I still asked to review it, and it wasnt a problem. The tip options start at 18% and go up, or you can select custom to leave something different. It wasnt 18% service. The best part was the atmosphere, its a cool looking place, the music was really good and the right kind loud, but not excessively loud. I live pretty close by so I wish I could become a regular, but I dont think thatll happen.

I havent tried the food but the pizza over there looks amazing the atmosphere is fire lots of people especially on Saturday nights I go there to watch UFC no covers for fights ..! Which is awesome.. lots of room they have an outside patio and best of all they have TV s everywhere you look absolutely perfect you wont miss anything. Bartenders are fast and service is on point. Our server Danni was awesome! I couldnt decide between the Tavern Burger & Philly Cheese Steak, so I asked her if they could put the Philly peppers in the burger with Mozzerella. She noted the custom order without a second guess and these guys hit the perfect 10/10 burger. We had also ordered chips & queso, so adding the queso to the burger made it flawless!!! I got flashbacks of Texadalphia but this was better. Please add this burger to your menu!!! Oh, and the chips were perfectly crisp & seasoned. Im more of a fan of darker beers or bocks and the Red Hare is my favorite since its not too hoppy... My wife got the Baja Fish tacos and she gave them almost a perfect 10/10. The spiciness was great, but hit her harder towards the end. Next time, sauce on the side and they would be flawless.

Honestly, had an awesome time. When it came down to pay I took care of it with the server.. Few moments later had a second server come and charge me for a second time. I was with 2 other couples, and all of us had to pay twice. Completely embarrassed with the whole situation.. The manager was completely disrespectful about the whole situation. First i will start with the atmosphere. your casual sports bar , usually playing the more popular games, but the volume is not /overbearing loud, its just right to have an open conversation between people, and as well as able to tune in when you feel like it . With the 3 jumbo TVs one outside 2 inside , it was easy to choose if i wanted to be inside or out. when requested for heaters outside , they were swiftly turned on. Drinks were great! have yet to find a place to have almost crystal clear ice as this place. and im talking glass clear ice. Which is important for the drinks! less watered down drinks. The food was amazing! a bit pricy for some things but nothing overpriced, pretty normal for a sports bar. I tried a regular pepperoni pizza, Hot Cheetos pizza and the lemon pepper wings with ranch. both pizzas are a bit small but tasted fantastic! almost peter piper flavor! The wings were a bit lacking in flavor, but order two rounds of them. Needed more lemon and pepper .... but were decent enough. The service was great! did not catch the name of our server but she was a great person to assist. 9/10 would def recommend! especially for the drinks!! clear ice is a huge plus in my books.

This is an interesting place. If the management was able to figure out how to get their service team to provide better service this place could be great. Weve been here a couple dozen times as it is within blocks of where we live. Unfortunately, the service here has never been great, and borders on awful. We have watched the service staff sit in a side booth sitting and talking as if they were the customers, and twice we watched a waitress sleep in one of these booths. The last time we went in, we sat at the bar for 10 minutes while 4 service people were behind the bar busy with their duties, no one said hello, no on said could be help you. You might think, they were busy helping other customers, maybe, but we counted 9 staff and only 8 customers. The food tends to be pretty good here - recommend their sweet and spicy pizza, Gochujang taco, and texas philly; their beer, needs some work, they come up with recipes that are different but have not appealed to our palate, Well stick to 5 x 5. Sadly, we gave up after 10 minutes on our last visit and went to the other end of the building to a new burger place, and glad we did! Well come back, but wont make it a weekly destination.

Good spot for beer and straightforward menu. Service is good and attentive. But they allow smoking in the covered patio. So that s a big (although I understand that this area being outside allows for this. But the tables are very close together so not kid friendly spot. Or for anyone that dislikes smoke)

I give them 3 stars only because it took a while for a waitress to come on over and ask if we needed anything. My friend had to go and ask if one could come to our table. Drinks and food were good, but when I asked for a twisted tea can the bartender looked at me and and said it was 7$. I looked at him and thought that was a crazy for a canned beer. I live in Austin and even they don t have canned beers that high priced. Then I asked for a sticker to add to my cooler and they said it was 5$ which is crazy as well since all other breweries had her 2-3$. So yeah, cool place but overpriced for drinks you could get from a 12 pack. I almost bought I was at a strip club paying those prices.

Stopped by a few days ago and service was amazing! Ask for Mel if you want great chit chat and service. She will help you find the perfect beer for you and tell you how it s made. She really knows her beers. Food was delicious, try their pretzel and kale salad. Beers are spectacular, you got to try their blondes and IPAs. Will be coming here more often!

This place is amazing from the big screen tvs, spacious outside patio, and mouth watering food and drinks the only difficult thing here is to decide where to sit and what to eat and drink luckily one can never go wrong on any choice as its very well made. There is plenty of parking here. The place itself was full but not crowded owing to the spacious building. The place is surrounded with wall to wall TV screens which were easy to watch. The place was clean but still needed a little sweeping as I could see bits of food on the floor at some tables, but not enough to raise concern. Regardless, the tables were sturdy and spacious and the tall stools were comfortable. The restrooms were very clean which Im sure is a big deal for most customers. We had a selection or flight of four of their house brews which were tasty, $20 and snacked on an order of giant cheese sticks $11. My date had a domestic beer which was priced accordingly at $5. The service was excellent as our service member was extremely attentive and cheerful. We tipped her well. We were there for a little over 2 hours sipping our beers and spent a little over $40. Money well spent in my opinion. Although, I usually like to visit a place three times before I complete a review, Ill go out on a limb and recommend the Howling Rabbits if only for the beauty of the place, the uber clean restrooms, and outstanding service. We will be sure to visit again soon. Parking: Front of the building, clean, paved, enough room to maneuver. Kid-friendliness: Children were present and owing to the openers of the place, were easy to keep an eye on.

Food was great. Service was awkward. Server could learn timing and when to interrupt to ask if we need anything. Better yet, master non verbal cues and reading the room. No shade to them, its just a skill to be mastered in hospitality. Music was very loud. Not what I was expecting from a brew pub experience. It felt more like a shot bar or club. I thought maybe Im just old but looking around there was lots of people my age or older. The food was tasty and the prices were very fair, and the menu looked intentional and well curated so Id definitely give it another try, maybe during lunch time when the vibe is a little less intense. Tried their house brewed beers and I enjoyed them so Id come back to try some more. Hoping it was just an off night for them because I want more stuff like this in the valley to succeed.

Me and a group of friends went for my birthday during a saturday afternoon (7pm) , we were serviced by the lovely Ale, who was always looking out for us, awesome service. I loved the flight of beers and also the paloma (made from squeezed grapefruit) was so good. I ordered pizza but it was a little salty to my liking, everything else was awesome. The atmosphere was good, I chose the patio and music wasnt too loud and they had boxing and ufc on which was great. Awesome place, i will go back pretty soon.

Food was a bit disappointing. Had the chicken strip entree and the katsu chicken sando. Either the chicken strips and katsu were just pre-bagged frozen chicken strips(think Tyson from HEB) or it was made in house and they were just not that good. Same with the fries. Pretty sure they were pre bagged. Just not worth the price tag. The drinks were great though. Well mixed cocktails and the in house beer was pretty good.

Howling Rabbits really has an amazing selection of in-house beer brewed on site. I have yet to try a variety of the food as the beer usually has my attention, and I typically stick with the pizza. But Ill definitely be trying out more of the food on my next visit. This will be a great spot once the football season revs up as well.
