This place is such a delight for dining in the downtown San Antonio area. The dining area is VERY spacious. The food was delicious and they have very affordable pricing and lunch specials. The customer service was great and the food was freshly prepared in a timely manner that I wasnt rushed to enjoy it during my lunch break. Free refills are offered for dine-in customers and I would day this is a great family-friendly,and handicap accessible, establishment. Side note: they sell the most amazing frosted tumblers! I highly recommend BUNZ and would say skip the Whataburger crap and go get you a freshly cooked meal at BUNZ Handcrafted Burgers! Thank me later.

Very mixed feelings about this place. I enjoyed my meal, but it had some glaring issues. The pepper and onions on the vegan burger were noticeably cold. The fries were room temp, as well. It may be a function of how long my meal took to come out. I will say the genuine man who wished me well upon my leaving earned an extra star.

Brought our group of 9 visiting from Houston for an afternoon bite. Omg the burgers were delicious! We tried the Cheek Buz, Bunzilla, and the ZBunz burgers. We also had several varieties of the fries!! One member of the group thought she had died and went to heaven after having the Strawberry Cheesecake Shake. Believe me if you are in town..this is the place!! I had to update this review! We(11) came back Friday morning for breakfast! The breakfast burgers were huge and delicious. Eggs so fluffy! On Saturday night the whole crew(13) came back after the Lighting of the Cathedral for their delicious shakes! We loved the staff for their great service!

My husband recommended I come here so I came for lunch. I walked in, saw the menu and my goodness it was interesting. The ingredients used for these burgers are what makes them unique and worth the money. With that being said, their menu was all over the place. Theres a black board. There are printed lamenated posters. There are hand written signs. The disorganization had me overwhelmed. On the blackboard, only 2 milkshake flavors are offered. But on a sign behind the register, there are more shake flavors. And then on a poster is another shake flavor. Different types of burgers posted all over the wall. I almost missed out on trying the award winning crab cake burger. Im so glad I saw it because it was fantastic. The burgers dont come with sides, FYI. Fries and salads are your choices for sides. I ordered a Caesars salad. I also ordered a red velvet milkshake. I was told right away the machine was being fixed and that it would be a while before I got my milkshake. I said thats okay, Ill wait for it. When my food came out, my salad was a container with Romain lettuce, and a cup of croutons. They also gave me ranch instead of Caesar. So I went back up to have the salad fixed. The girl who made the food was in training and needed help with communication. Not a problem. The trainer told her to bring a cup of parmesan and Caesar dressing. The trainee gave me arugula. I went back up a 2nd time to get it corrected and the trainer showed her where the Caesar dressing was. I dont know if this was the trainees first or 2nd day, but I dont think she was ready to be on her own without a trainer watching over her. My salad was fixed after the 3rd try and I was only waiting on my milkshake. I sat down to eat, (the high tops have spinning stools!!!) and I bit into one of the best burgers I have ever had. The red chips with the crab cake and sauce was so savory, to the cook who made that burger...*chefs kiss*. The crab cake didnt fall apart, and the bun was soft with a little crisp. Amazing. When the milkshake machine was working again, my meal was finished and I got to try the red velvet milkshake. Also very good. Not too sweet. A very tasty treat at the end of a very tasty meal. A must try. Vegetarian options: Vegan and vegetarian options are on the menu.

Ordered the Torito Bunz and it did not disappoint. Perfectly cooked with all the flavors I expected to taste. The burger was a bit messy - - I ate half by hand then had to switch to a knife and fork. It was so worth it. The fries looked like potato chips at first but were a great bite-sized French fry, just cut a bit different. Give this place a try. Youll love it!

Best burger ever just a stones throw from the River Walk. We got a Mercedez Bunz and a Cheek Bunz with sweet potato fries. Everything was exceptional. The sandwiches are a perfect mix of softness and crunchiness. Reading on their website we saw that they make the bread as well as preparing the meat mix. The price is excellent for what is served. Highly recommended.

Bunz Handcrafted Burgers at 122 E Houston St, San Antonio, TX 78205 In my first visit to Bunz, I purchased the Chicking Chicking sandwich, which consists of fried battered white chicken meat, topped with Monterrey Jack cheese, pickles, cabbage slaw, spicy honey mustard, and a pickled jalapeno, served on their freshly made brioche bun. I also ordered a small drink and small fries. The sandwich looked very appealing, and the fries were a unique shape that I had never seen before. I cut the sandwich in half and ate it as served. The second half I dissected, and I noticed that the breading on the chicken was thick, and the chicken itself was quite thin. The coleslaw was tasty, as honey mustard is always a good flavor combination. The thick-cut pickles reminded me of the flavor of Wickles, a semi-sweet spicy pickle. The buns were thick, but too bready for my taste. The fries were hot, crunchy, and very good. Cost-wise, I was shocked. The sandwich, fries, and drink came to $22.03 (with tax). Thats just for one persons lunch. VERY PRICY and, in my opinion, not worth the price tag. Overall, while the sandwich had some good flavors, the thin chicken and thick breading were disappointing. The fries were good, but the price was too high for the overall experience.

During our stay at the AC Marriott across the street, my family and I decided to stop by Bunz Handcrafted Burgers for lunch, and it was an unforgettable experience. As someone who has frequented many places serving vegan burgers in cities like LA, Las Vegas, Miami, Atlanta, and my home base of Houston, I can confidently say this is hands down the best vegan burger I ve ever had. The flavors were incredibly rich and satisfying, and the texture was perfect not to mention the fresh, high-quality ingredients that made each bite a delight. The staff was friendly and accommodating, making our dining experience even more enjoyable. I will literally drive back to San Antonio just for this vegan burger. Bunz Handcrafted Burgers has set a new standard for vegan cuisine, and I can t wait to visit again. Highly recommend!

My first time trying and I definitely will be coming back. They have a burger combo for $12.95! I cant even eat at McDonalds for that price! Mixed feeling about this burger spot. Ordered the Z Bunz burger and was extremely disappointed. The patty was not extremely flavorful, and the Signature Z Sauce did nothing for the sandwich. Also, they offered a shrimp burger/sandwich, but did not give the option to put shrimp on my burger, which I wouldve been interested in trying as I was feeling adventurous. The dining experience was saved by the delicious Dynamite Chicken Sandwich, which was 1000x better than the burger. Fresh chicken with a nice kick and the pickled jalapeños were a nice touch! The receipt was literally stuck onto a shrimp when I received it. Ridiculous how many businesses will put receipts in direct contact with food. The ink is extremely toxic. Food and receipt contact should not occur together, period, end of story!

The food is fantastic but maybe there was a new cook when we were there because everything was just too salty. The fries, the meat in the burgers, etc. My kids usually tolerate everything and they were really hungry and yet this is one of the few times they left their food. The chilli beans were left though. Hope they can fix this issue and the food would be just perfect.

We and others had altercations with a local coward. Go with family, friends, or blend in with other groups when walking in the downtown realm.* physical contact was exchanged, and Advocate just blocks your attempt to defend, allowing male antagonist to escape. A rustic family owned with a variety of beef, chicken, and vegan sandwiches. The Chicking Chicken was very good and spicy! Not what Id expected from a burger joint. Soda fountain is self-serve, seasoned or sweet potato fries are both delicious! Sad to say, we will probably not be returning due to the local scum.

This is the perfect place to grab a bite to eat near the Majestic & Empire Theatres. I had the cheek bunz burger, which comes with Boursin cheese, arugula, tomato, caramelized onions, and two strips of bacon. It was delicious and filling. For dessert I shared the pretzel Nutella shake with my boyfriend. It has small, crunchy pretzel chunks. My boyfriend absolutely loved this shake. It s not overly sweet like a purely Nutella shake would be. If you like the sweet and salty pretzel Nutella combination, you ll enjoy this shake.

This place is not San Antonios best burger. The food is OK, if you can finally get them to make your order correctly. I like a regular burger, mustard only. Took two tries and a discussion of what the receipt said vs what I ordered. Like I told the lady I get what the receipt says, but Im not the one pushing the buttons, so I am at the mercy of you listening to me. They also got my wifes order wrong, then said they didnt have tater tots, after the cashier said they did. Photo #1 is under cooked burger my wife asked for well done Photo #2 is well done burger that was not requested, and was attempt number three at getting my order right. All in all, this is a business that doesnt deserve your time or money.

Great food but I had bad customer service. I asked for a cup of water from the fountain, lady said we don t have cups you need to buy from the fridge, I told her you have soda fountain and it has water, she suddenly left me and start cleaning the grill. A gentleman beside her told her was talking to you, she turned back and said I told you that 3 times before. Well, not trying to be picky but even if you don t have cups for water from fountain, you can excuse that but saying we are not allowed to give free cups for water instead of ignoring the customer

So to start off.. the first time I ever tried Bunz was when I worked at Bohanan s prime steaks & seafood down the street, a coworker asked me if I would like to try her burger & fries from there, & I fell in love. About 2 months ago, I had an errand to run downtown since I live up 281 north, so I definitely made a stop to Bunz during the lunch hour, it was extremely busy but I was willing to wait since I knew it would be delicious. It was a little chaotic so I just went up to ask if they had called my order, the attitude & the way the short haired girl spoke to me was very off putting.. also made me feel like I don t matter. So.. I continued to wait.. finally got my food, it was like I expected, amazing.. but I had to leave asap so I only ate half of it in the restaurant. The 2nd time I made a visit to the restaurant, I took a male friend with me, he wanted to eat at the bar across the st called, Double Standard. I kept telling him Bunz is amazing so we went there, we were very hungry to begin with and while showing him the menu, I noticed a keychain display so I spotted one I wanted to buy for my daughter to show my friend, while we were trying to still figure out what burger to order.. the cashier at the time, ran around to where we were while another woman cashier took our order.. I was very confused about that whole transition without being told that she would help us out instead, & my friend was upset since he noticed that the cashier before ran around since he thought we were stealing from the keychain setup they had in front.. Mind you.. I m still confused at once going on & also trying to order for us while raving about this place & realizing how uncomfortable I was feeling at the same time. I ended up just ordering it togo since the restaurant at the time felt extremely warm, loud reggaeton music blaring, and feeling awkward/confused.. I ve worked in the industry for years so I felt that the atmosphere of the restaurant was being overtaken by these employees, and it s sad that customers who love the food & spend money at a restaurant they were trying to promote/share to others because of how great the food is.. creates customers like us to dislike going there etc. It is embarrassing to the owners & the industry, unsettling & also a turn off to customers & to future customers. To make it worse, I was hungry & decided not to eat my food because I was so upset and I wasn t sure one of the employees did something to our food, only because my friend spoke up loudly about the fact that the male cashier was passively accusing me of stealing a keychain that I was asking about the price. Not only that, but the first short haired woman that was rude the first time I visited at that restaurant, she just stood there by us, while I was ordering & gawking at us, as if it was funny that we felt uncomfortable etc. So to sum it all up, one of the most weirdest, uncomfortable places I ve ever been to which did not make sense to me since the food is great, the location, but to make a customer feel that way is unreal to me.. I guess if I need to, I ll take my business to the other location or to Burger Boy. I just wouldn t like anyone else to feel this way at any amazing restaurant.. especially if he/she is a tourist visiting the historic, beautiful downtown San Antonio, Tx.

First meal in San Antonio and it was great. I had the double patty burger only thing I would change is the cheddar cheese. I got the loaded fries and the cheese on them didnt set well in my stomach. Just be aware if you have cheese sensitivity. I would go back again for sure.

One of the messiest burgers I ve eaten in a long time, and well worth it. Bunzai is essentially a hamburger with a North Carolina pulled pork sandwich on it. The combination is delicious. The sweet potato fries were excellent, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

Ok ok ok! Damn best burger ever! In Hawaii, we say broke da mouth when its so damn good. Yuo...broke da mouth!!! It eas a beef burger topped with BBQ Asian pork ribs, coleslaw, tomato, pickled jalapeno & chipotle mayo served on a fe brioche Bunz. I ALSO had a side of Bombardier Fries, they were topped with sour cream, cilantro, chives, goat cheese, parmesan cheese & bacon bits. You gotta try this place when u visit. It was so big I couldnt finish so dinner was delightful too. As I walked out the place smelled decadent chocolate, they were baking red velvet for one of n their shakes. I cant wait to go back n try that!

Edit: 4 months later y all I just dream about these fries. We very rarely eat out so I look for excuses to get them. I told my husband for Valentine s, forget flowers, I just want these goat cheese fries. Please get them and thank me later. Original: The loaded bombardier fries were absolutely out of this world good. Was craving loaded fries while walking the riverwalk and couldn t believe how good they were. Split between 3 adults and two toddlers and we were all happy. Will be back for the fries alone and perhaps to try a burger someday! The pretzel Nutella milkshake was good but nothing amazing. Oh and we did get the fries without cilantro because we don t care for cilantro. But all the flavors were just ugh!! SO GOOD. I need to go back now!
