Food was pretty solid and many vegetarian options for a smokehouse. The outside patio is lovely but we had some very pesky bees bugging us the whole time. Its odd that we have to go to the inside counter to order,.. it would be easier to just scan a code and order food to the table.

Ordered the Smoked Steak Rice Bowl $14.95 for delivery. Suggestion: Please include some kind of tool for eating. Portion and taste: Protein to Rice ratio is 1:5 (6 cubes of steak) The steak is chewy and the smoke flavor is artificial. Conclusion: Overpriced lunch

I get the hype around this place. Good vibes, great set up and quick service even when crowded. The best thing for me is that it has new flavors and original dishes. As you can see in the comments, some people dont like the food because it is spicy (not even close for me, though granted, I am a Mexican) or too outside their expectation in some other way. If you dont like to try new, unknown and strong flavors, this is not your place. Else, definitely worth a visit. Only other caveat is that it can get crowded. Best to come early.

Went on a busy Friday night but managed to snag a table quickly. The atmosphere was lively, and the staff was attentive despite the rush. The standout dish was the wonton chips with Thai green salsa! Crispy, light, and plenty of chips. The Thai green salsa was reminiscent of chimichurri. Another appetizer I enjoyed was the chicken karaage perfectly fried and seasoned, with a great balance of flavors. The ghost pepper mayo added a nice kick without being overpowering. I tried the crispy smoked chicken sandwich, but the sauces didn t blend well. The chicken was juicy thoigh. The char siew pork belly rice bowl had flavors similar to thit kho, with an interesting fish sauce. We ended dinner with the chocolate crème brûlée rich but not overly sweet, with a nice crunch from the cocoa nibs. Unfortunately, I felt nauseous, possibly due to the indoor smoke. Still, Id recommend this place for anyone wanting to try an Asian fusion smokehouse.

Loro is bar order, non-service, food joint thats set up like tapas. (Grrr) Because they want you to eat tapas style its really not inexpensive, the portions are small, and for the beer garden style setup they have it really should be cheaper. The food presents itself as really classy and good ... but I got the salmon and it was definitely overcooked and way too sweet with the sauce that came with it. Wasnt particularly impressed with the price/quality ratio of any of the food. Had two meat entrees and three of the side/appetizers. My recommendation to the business: Either make the food at higher quality, not just presentation and plating, or lower the price.

Loro is a very casual, self-ordering on-bar kinda restaurant, and I love it for that. I keep coming back to Loro, although it is a pretty long drive from my home. On our usual order are always chicken karaage, corn fritters, sesame noodles, and oak smoked beef brisket sandwiches. All in all, this place is a very good restaurant you cant miss when visiting Austin. I was also in Domain the other day and saw that we are opening a location there, so I am excited about that!

Loved how vibrant, social, and at the same time, laid back the atmosphere was here. I appreciated the attentiveness of all the servers even though it got quite busy. It was refreshing to hear the servers take time to name the dishes as they laid them on the table, and answer any questions regarding the menu. Ive gotten accustomed to waiters delivering the plates, and leaving as quickly as possible right after. For an appetizer I ordered the chicken karage and oak grilled edamame which were both full of flavor and unique in their own ways. I also prdered the pork belly rice bowl which was flavorful and filling. I ordered a flight of margarita slushees, with Mango Sake, Vietnamese coffee, and Peach Aperol with my favorite being the Mango Sake. My friends enjoyed the food and vibe here as well. Looking forward to next time. Dietary restrictions: A few different gluten free options

When Happy Hour is going on, the inside dining area is large. It is also loud, busy, and congested. Beautiful surroundings and our seating arrangement, for the 4 of us, was less than desirable in its L shaped configuration. Overall, perhaps a different time for us to arrive would solve this issue. Went in for lunch so it was self order which was fine but the busser came up to my table and took the plate in front of me without even asking if I was done. The restaurant was full so I expected it to be quite loud but the people sitting behind me were obnoxiously loud, hollering in front of our table as they walked to and from their table. The food was nice but the burger my friend got was heavily smoked, overpowering the rest of the dish. The portion size was small for the price considering there was no customer service.

A couple of things that are important to note about Loro. You seat yourself and order at the bar. It can get packed inside and there s plenty seating outside. But I just can t with Texas heat. Also, some plates worth trying are only served after 4pm, ribs and brisket. They bring food over but rest is self serve. I love bbq and first time I went, I felt some sort of way. Reason being is that it s bbq with an Asian twist. I felt like I was cheating on Texas bbq. But they won me over. It s tasty and different. We loved their peanut noodle cold salad and pork belly. The hamburgers are not for me. The potatoes looked crispier than what they were. But I enjoyed their drinks and ambience. It s something different and I will go back. There s extra parking in the back.

I visited Loro again to try their burger this time. The taste was exactly what I was hoping for, smoky, juicy, neatly organized- but subject to debate- the lettuce was on the top. That is, all the juices of the meat soaked the also delicious bread. The hamburger is medium in diameter but high in construction. Unless you turn your sandwich upside down, the bread will break. I learned that lesson halfway through. It got messy but still worth a repeat. I hope someone can tell me why the lettuce was on top; or, was it an engineering oversight? If you have the meat well done it may not happen so beware carnivores.

Rice noodle is lacking flavor - not sure what it s trying to be a Korean bibimmyun?Ramen noodles were chow mein - too thick and not authentic. Karaage was good - crispy like a good karaage. The mango sake slushy was really good.

I only ordered from the happy hour options and this might be why nothing was memorable but it was still good (just good). Coming from Europe, I thought the crispy chicken sandwich was spicy (but tolerable) and reminded me of buffalo wings sauce and simple coleslaw. The brisket tostada was a bit salty for my taste but good, the wedge salad was good but seemed like a take on Caesar salad, and the best was the salmon dip which had an amazing smokiness and herbal flavor. I wish the dishes were more Asian fusion and creative. Having said that, the restaurant is beautiful, the service and atmosphere where great. I ll have to order from their regular menu to fully form an opinion. I give them 4 stars because of the happy hour price/taste.

Got the tofu bowl, the chicken bowl, the corn fritters, and the Vietnamese coffee slushie. Every item was amazing, the atmosphere was perfect and the food came reasonably fast with how busy it was. Super great flavors and unique dishes! The restaurant has indoor, outdoor and covered patio seating.

Say you can t decide if you want Asian noodles or smoked brisket, well, Loro is a unique way to dine Asian bbq in Austin, this smokehouse is something amazing. Their approach is rather unorthodox but worth trying. The staff is able to help with selections if it s your first time and you will not be disappointed. Far east flavors meet southern concepts. There is a not a single menu item you will not enjoy. There s plenty of both, indoor and outdoor seating. As well as enough parking space. The atmosphere is something chill and relaxing.

The Good: I mean the food is phenomenal, and you cannot beat the atmosphere anywhere. Easily some of the more unique dishes I have ever had in Austin so far. The Meh: I just feel like the whole mill around until you get called and then when you do get a seat, you have to basically order for yourself at the bar (where you just went to order popcorn while you were waiting for your table), and then you tell them your table, and they bring them out as they are ready is just unnecessarily confusing, time consuming, and not conducive to going with friends since one of you ends up standing in line for 35 minutes, (at least once during your meal and once to get an app while you wait) while another waits in another line for drinks. I spent more time in line than I did with my friends. Hard to justify doing that again with a group even if the foods good.

Excellent service and fast. Great dishes with layers of flavors. Perfectly seasoned. They nailed it. Don t miss the chocolate creme brulee.

I recently visited an exceptional restaurant in Austin that left a lasting impression. I found the Austin branch to be superior to the Houston branch in terms of ambiance and overall experience. The atmosphere was vibrant and the vibe was fantastic, creating a truly enjoyable dining experience. The outdoor areas were particularly noteworthy, offering beautiful surroundings that are definitely must-visit spots in Austin. As for the food, it was absolutely delicious, and the service was top-notch, further adding to the overall positive experience. Im already looking forward to my next visit and will definitely be returning.

Loro s food is outstanding. Really. I haven t had food this tasty and well thought out at such a reasonable price before. I m not saying Loro is cheap, but it is absolutely reasonable. For example, we tried the Pork Belly, Smoked Turkey, Corn, Edamame, Noodles, and Crispy Potatoes all for under $60. Sometimes I can t get out of a place like Chili s for that price. Service is odd because you have to order at the bar, but the people are great it s just an unusual experience. Atmosphere is fine, but there were tons of people when we went. The tables are a mix of individual tables and cafeteria style seating. Even with tons of people, the food came out fast! I m not good with crowds so we ate outside and it was shaded and nice.

Staff was so so nice, love the staff, especially the bussers working hard to keep everything clean. On the plus theres also free water! But, once seating ourselves, and having to find a physical menu after scanning the qr code menu, and wanting more information, we were sad to see no actual smokehouse. No pictures for food items to know what were getting or looking for, no one to really ask either. We ended up getting the butchers cut thinking it was going to be the smokehouse of it all since they dont serve the actual smokehouse except on the weekend according to the menu. The picture made it seem (on the qr code menu) seemed to be pictured completely different when we got it. For being the most expensive thing we ordered, youd think there would be something to show for it but it was the smallest plate, and it had a huge chunks of cilantro on the smallest portion of meat. It was honestly embarrassing to recieve it. I didnt want to be that person and take it back, so we kept it. Also got a chicken sandwich, which I had tried previously and liked, was sure it would be okay. I literally couldnt eat it, it was so so spicy, to the point of not being enjoyable or something I could finish. And I like spicy. I wish I knew before hand. It felt like such a waste of money. I do wish we had had someone to ask about the food, or even just more pictures on the qr menu, but the only person to ask was taking orders at the bar, and had lines of people to attend all ordering. So if i and my group had wanted to even ask, wed of had to have all gone inside, wait in line, only to bother this man who should be taking orders to keep the flow up for the restaurant. Im not saying dont go, Im not saying anyone is at fault, I just think that it was difficult menu to navigate and myself and my group overall were unhappy with the experience of the meal but not of the vibe.

One of my favorite places with the BBQ - Asian infusion, fresh ingredients and consistently fun atmosphere. If there is a wait you can still go to the counter to get a drink and snack to bring to outside waiting areas. If you don t mind sitting at the bar counter it s quick and great service. You order at the counter and the full menu can be scanned from QR code in each table - ask about any specials! Sharing is always a good idea. I love the rice bowls, corn fritters and always the wonton chips with 2 dips. But there is so much more. An Austin staple and everyone we recommend here loves it!

Smoking is the only way you ll enjoy the food here. First, service here is entirely self-paced. Not that big of a deal on its own. The food was mostly awful: The Loro Burger I ordered was overdone, the lettuce was slimy, and the patty itself had a thick char that ruined every other bite. The Malaysian curry chicken my friend ordered was near rancid. The rice was mush and the chicken was unseasoned. The sauce with the dish smelled like death. The chicken sandwich was mostly alright other than slimy coleslaw and forgettable chicken. Regarding sides, the Potatoes were unseasoned in some spots, and covered in salt elsewhere. The Mexican Sweet Corn was drenched in a gross sauce that just burned. Lemonade was good. Prices simply did not make sense given the quality of the food. Overpriced and overrated, hoped for better.

This place is a gem. Amazing food, good variety, lots of fresh tasting vegetables, and delicious sauces. Strongly recommend getting several dishes to share with your group. You do have to go to the bar to order which can be crowded during busy hours, but they bring your food out to you very quickly. Bonus: Close to downtown but just far enough out that they do have their own dedicated parking lot.

The service routine is a clusterfluk. Find a seat (inside is noisy, outside is full of flies... hey it is Austin in the spring) Pull up menu on phone, go to bar to order, pay and tip (before you actually get any service), get an electronic disk, go back to the seat (grab your own silver and napkins) and your food comes out in a haphazard parade from the servers. The food was pretty good, I cant complain about that, albeit kind of small portion plates. This is probably a great place to meet and drink for Gen Z after work, but for relaxing for a good meal and being served, seek your accommodations elsewhere. Im sure the methodology of service was designed to lower the cost for the restaurant, not the cost to the patron in either dollars or service.

For some reason it took them over half an hour just to reheat(it arrived near cold) it and by the time we were done with our meal we didn t feel like waiting longer for it so it never made its way back to us. I feel like it s pretty unacceptable to allow a refire ticket to go that long, especially in this restaurant.

No matter the occasion, Loro IS & always will BE THE SPOT! In the most extraordinary way, you get semi-fine dining food in a casual spot, that brings hospitality, comfortability for any occasion, whether that s you going on your work break, or studying for school or even just to get a light snack or a meal. This place does it all, and they do it RIGHT. Pricing is never a concern here, locationally in such a general spot of downtown. They perfected the concept & I can t get enough. Probably my #1 go to spot in Austin. Parking: Huge lot which they extended

Relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, if not chaotic service. Its a self-seat bar service kind of restaurant. You find a table, then go try to find someone to take your order at the bar. Once you have placed your order, they give you a buzzer. The food came out shockingly quickly, but they got the order wrong. You self-serve drinks, napkins, silverware, etc. Think more like `picnicking`. The food was excellent and somewhat unique. The Loro Burger was surprisingly good. The rice bowl meat/rice ratio was slightly off, but you can fix that by ordering a meat side. Beware, much of the food is pretty spicy. If you like spice, this wont be a problem; if you want mild food, you may be surprised. This restaurant is not just kid and dog-friendly, its a place where everyone feels welcome. The staff, despite the occasional chaos, is always friendly and accommodating, making you feel right at home. Step outside and youll find yourself in a charming setting, nestled under the shade of live oaks and the warm glow of cafe lights. The indoor bar, though small and dimly lit, adds to the overall cozy ambiance. Its a perfect balance of mood, lighting, and music that sets the stage for a memorable dining experience.
