Hah! 3 stars for the food you cook yourself. Only due to such a small amount for the large price. Hard to rate a place where you cook. It was clean inside. The waiter was good. Definitely could have used more meat on the plate for the price it costs.

A fun place to eat! Theres mood lighting and every table is in a booth style that feels very private. A perfect atmosphere for a date or intimate gathering. It is a novelty, cooking your own meats and veggies and dipping them into the various sauces. If I were only taking the food into account, I would say this place is overpriced, but youre paying for the novelty and atmosphere. The desert is my favorite part, dipping all sorts of goodies into melted chocolate

So ALL of my food was AMAZING! I had the most delicious espresso martini & everything was absolutely delicious .. the problem came when we were leaving right in front of my husband & I the manager came over & stomped & smashed a COCKROACH on the floor right in front of us as we were leaving. & to make this even better I m certain because on our way to the car I spotted a cockroach outside on the side of the restaurant. We were visiting from Chicago & I m not sure about Texas, but in Chicago cockroaches will get your restaurant shut down by the health inspector. Typing this while trying not to puke just ewwwwwwwww!

I m not coming here again simply for the service. The food was great, we got the complete experience meal for 2 for $99 and it was delicious. Drinks weren t endless so you had to make sure not to keep getting refills but they didn t tell us til later. At first our waitress was extremely nice and we had no issues however when we finished up our meal and were ready to leave since it was our first time eating there it was more than we expected. So we left a $10 tip which we figured was satisfactory however apparently to the waitress it wasn t. She asked us if she did something wrong and we said no, then she basically just asked if we could ve given more money and that what we gave was 7% when normally tips are 15%. I ve literally never had this happen to me but it was probably the rudest most awkward experience I ve ever had at a restaurant . I m not quite sure if we were in the wrong given not being at a restaurant like that before but regardless it rubbed us the wrong way and we won t be coming here again. Also the waitresses name was Hope.

This was a nightmare also chef in back is breaking the bechamel which is one of the 5 mother sauces and one of the first things you learn so my cheese what broken and curdled like cheesy sandpaper nice of them to offer free chocolate but I just wanted out of there at that point as fast as possible .

We enjoyed our date night a lot! Our waitress was very attentive and kind. We had the Wisconsin Cheddar for the first course and it was very good! For the entrée we picked the tempura batter and European style fondue and that was delicious and a lot of fun. We werent too impressed by the milk chocolate. Other than that this location was great. At the beginning of our dinner there was a table with a group of extremely loud kids behind us which apparently were dropped off by their parents and I guess the restaurant was supposed to babysit while no parent was in sight. To whoever those parents are: shame on you. Your kids are lacking manners and etiquette and shouldnt behave this bothersome in public. Teach them some manners or dont leave them unsupervised. The staff had to tell them to be quiet multiple times until we all could finally enjoy our meal in peace!!

I have been coming to the melting pot for a decade now and it has never disappointed. The norm is to have four courses, cheese, salad, meat, and chocolate. For me the cheese is the best part of the whole dinner. Highly recommend to make reservations as each dinner could take a couple hours from start to end. I would just suggest to get drinks before or after going, as they can been expensive there. Overall this a perfect place for a date night. For two people it would about at least $100. Parking: Can get full at peak time.

They had a table for us with flowers and a card, which we thought it was a nice touch. The reason I gave it a 3 for atmosphere, and perhaps Im being picky, but when we walked in they took us straight to our booth so I didnt really see the place, our booth was very private but small, we barely mange with all the stuff on the table, a bit awckward honestly, other than that, service was fantastic, food was great, we will go back for sure.

Go to a Brazilian steakhouse instead. On my ticket it says the servers name is Tehya. Immediately was a drab. We came to celebrate a birthday, 3 adults and 3 kids. One of which didnt even eat. We got autograted for a $52 tip. I really hope they tip share because this girl did not deserve but $20. Felt rushed. She would make comments about other people not doing their job, yet, hello mam you were not either. Multiple times left waiting for a drink refill. Something told me not to even bother with alcohol. Constantly being forgotten about. Did not seem busy last night so not sure what happened. My sister loves this place. This was my first time. Im not opposed to spending money on good food, but this server made the experience blah for how much money was spent. Not asking for cartwheels and to talk to our table for a long time, just to at least get some drinks refilled. I guess since she knew she was gonna autograt she didnt care. No manager ever came by either for table touches.

Our host was very nice explaining how everything worked our waiter came to our table he was amazing explaining everything on the menu gave us suggestions on what he liked and what are favorites from guest he took the time to make sure we were sure its what we wanted to order he was very well knowledgeable on menu and food that they serve (not many servers are as helpful or want to take the time). We were there past closing he made sure we were done there was no rushing which we appreciate it from all the staff sorry about that. My nephew did get a birthday card signed by all staff which was sweet. Thank you Eric O for making my nephews birthday dinner that much more special. Prices were steep but will visit again and nothing is to much when family is happy and the experience and service is amazing. Because of the service Eric game we will return.

It wasnt that the place was BAD, but HIGHLY overpriced for what was delivered. When we got in they stuck us at a table for 4 when we had 6 so it was definitely squeezed. First, the staff was kind (when we actually saw them...) the chesse Fondue was definitely over hyped, as it was served with some cold (like refrigerated) bread that was hard, carrots, celery, and tomatoes which typically isnt what I would thing goes directly with melted cheese. Then the process was confusing and unclear and eeven though there were several parties at our table we had could only pick 1 Fondue, 1 way to cook (they have several styles) and 1 desert Fondue because our table had only 1 burner so everyone had to agree on something when we all wanted to try different. Then all the food came in raw with a hot skillet along with directions with small bite size portions. It was like we all had to wait 2-3 minutes between EACH BITE and still couldnt tell if the fish/ meat was cooked enough. Then with dessert the chocolate ran out in no time because the serving was so small. To top it all off our tables bill was over $500 with a mandatory 18% tip when our server did nothing but just being the food. I mean with all the cooking I did I though I would be the one to get the tip! Needless to say, anytime Im in San antonio I will make sure to avoid this place to save $500, my time (which we were there for 3 hours) grill my own steak at home for a literal fraction of the price and I advise everyone else to do the same. No hate to them just the truth.

Great date night place. We come here every year we are in town for our anniversary. Definitely a little pricer than other options you would normally choose, but it s slightly more expensive for a WAY better experience. You get to actually be alone with your dinner partner and not have to worry about tons of noise and a okay dinner experience. The dinner was and is always great. Really good food choices and drinks. Make sure to finish it off with the desert (Bananas Foster), it never disappoints. Do make sure to make a reservation at least a week in advance to get a time you want. Parking: Plenty of spots, especially in the evenings when the other stores are closed near by. But never an issue as this place is never crazy busy. Kid-friendliness: Not for younger kids. We have littles and let s just say, there is a reason you come here as opposed to other restaurants. Older kids will have a fun experience for sure. Wheelchair accessibility: Definitely wheelchair accessible, no problem.

This weekend, we visited The Melting Pot and thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food. It offered a unique and enjoyable dining experience. The only downside for me was their drink policy. Initially, I ordered a Gummy Bear martini, but I didnt like the flavor. I set it aside and when I ordered a different martini, the waitress told me not until you finish that one . I asked why it mattered if I was paying for both. She said it was their rule. I just left it at that but found her choice of words to be rude. My husband ended up drinking mine and I ordered the Blueberry Lemon drop, which I must say, I absolutely loved and was probably one of the best ones I ve had. Besides their drink rule/waitress, everything was great. I m sure we ll be back again but hopefully their customer service will be better.

1st time here on a Friday night with my 15 year old niece, sister & mother...waitress was ambivalent, rushy & rolled her eyes several times...we did have a coupon yet still spent well over 200 bucks & high tip yet she didnt seem to want to answer our questions nor f/thru with at minimum, sub-par fine dining customer service. And I dont say that with contempt nor bias, rather watching the table across from us get amazing service from their server as evident by very meticulous & thorough descriptions of the menu options, showing off with minor yet fun fondue flare & most importantly, a cordial & respectful persona, left me feeling a bit slighted....and thats the dumbed down version of how I truly feel... The icing on the cake though, were 2 very common, traditional service industry expectations NOT MET. 1. Our server seemed very annoyed at me asking to see the wine bottle since I wanted to determine if I was going to buy a bottle or just a glass?! 2. Not only rushing thru & obviously missing a few steps in her attempt at explaining the process of how to cook our own meat whilst rolling her eyes the entire time, grimacing constantly at us and could barely make it thru the intro without clearly exhibiting a I dont have time for this nor yall demeanor. Side note* My father, who currently owns his own bar, restaurant & beverage catering company as well as have taught his 2 daughters EVERYTHING abt proper service industry best practice & precious owner & instructor at The Bartending School of SA(now closed), which we his daughters, were exposed to all of our lives & being in the business for over 40 years, has taught us to always respect servers yet also expect what you pay for & thats usually the food AND the service. That being said, I know I will NEVER go back to this place again. Id much rather just go camping, cook my own food using screwers over a fire & melt stuff in a pot to dip my food in. It would have been a much better experience than this place gave me. At the end of the day, I guess if you desire to go out to a supposed fine dining, reservation only, hyped-up joint for dinner, just to be squished into a small booth with only 1 stove top, cook your own dinner, be rushed thru each phase of the DIY fondue experience (praying you dont end up with food poisoning or a raw meat disease), dont mind double dipping/food contamination from your other guests & pay the equivalent of a months worth of groceries (for 1-2 adults) to eat, then this is most def the place for you. Just know, itll be a 50/50 toss on whether you get a happy go lucky fun server/cooking instuctor or an ansty, no patience wanna be server who seemingly would rather watch dry paint dry than answer a question or empathetically respond to a request like extra napkins or...oh, maybe having ANY ALTERNATIVE RESPONSE to our inquiry for a band-aid or burn cream when the super hot grease that poped into my nieces eye and burned her cheek (from the skillet) just to make her feel better...sigh. I guess it was amazingly helpful that I had my own mini first aid kit in my purse cuz otherwise, our servers exceptionally disregarding response, Yeah, it is really hot so you gotta be careful, & then just walk away as if we hadnt even made a request was utterly preposterous. This place was dangerous, annoying & Id recommend anyone go anywhere else than here based on my experience. Lile maybe a camping trip or a backyard grillathon with your own friends &/or family, pre-purchase your own appropriately portined cheese, meat & other food, have access to larger plates, more space & afterwards, make smores over a fire pit &/or make homemade fudge in your own kitchen and dip fresh, store bought fruit or whatever youd prefer into the leftover melted chocolate pot. Itll cost less & be much more realistically pleasing for all attending. Otherwise, you could leave this place wondering 2-3 weeks later....wth & why did I go there? And why would anyone ever go back? Kid-friendliness: *Warning* Complete lack of care or precautions related to high heat & popping grease.

The ambiance at Melting Pot was pleasant, creating a cozy atmosphere. However, the high prices didnt align with the taste, as the dishes lacked the expected flavor. We had Alex as our waitress, she did an excellent job at explaining everything to us and was very accommodating. The place was nice for the most part but the food was not worth the money. The amount of protein on the entrees are lacking and will leave you hungry. The experience was cool as a cute date idea, but do not come here if you want to feel satisfied afterwards unless you plan on spending an exorbitant amount of money. The bathrooms are lacking in cleanliness and toilet seats need to be replaced, especially for the amount of $$ you re spending for the experience.

Great service, quiet environment, good food. Ambiance could be nicer, lighting was a bit harsh and bathrooms needed updating and a deep cleaning. Vegetarian options: Plenty of non-meat options on the menu. Parking: It was a quiet night but on a busy night I can see how it would be hard to find a spot Kid-friendliness: Saw a family with 3 kids and they all seemed to be well taken care of and enjoying the experience

If you have ever wanted to time travel to a restaurant in the 90 s, the melting pot is for you. Food was mediocre and expensive for the quality. Lightning and furniture have not been changed in the last 25 years. Two stars for the cheese and dessert chocolate. Pass on everything else.

Came here to celebrate my wifes birthday. They did not disappoint. Both our first time at a fondue restaurant, so we went with the 4 course bigger night out with cheese, coq au vin and chocolate fondue for cooking. Since its Texas, this location does offer a alternate grill option we didnt try. Everything was delicious and our server Joey was patient, helpful and friendly with a couple of first timers. Most importantly they made my wife feel special on her special day. Would definitely recommend.

We dined at your establishment earlier this week and had an absolutely exceptional meal. I highly recommend indulging in the full fondue experience; it is unquestionably worth it, especially when you have an outstanding server like Sonya. She truly elevated the experience to a 5-star level. Every single course we tried was exquisite. This restaurant provides an ideal setting to savor both delicious food and each other s company. We were pleasantly surprised to receive a complimentary plate with a strawberry bearing the message Congratulations ___ & ___, and it even featured strawberries that our attentive server skillfully carved into heart shapes. Such meticulous attention to detail created an exceptionally personal and memorable experience. What truly set our experience apart was the personalized touch. Sonya began by addressing us by our last names and even took the time to inquire about our first names. Making us feel like old friends catching up. The level of service and attentiveness rivaled that of our favorite fine dining establishments here in San Antonio. Truly incredible! We look forward to returning and specifically requesting Sonya. Thank you, Sonya, for making our visit so special!

Our waitress wasnt attentive- she missed the first entree, delayed filling our drinks, and our table didnt even have utensils. Usually not a big deal at restaurants but for $80 per person you would expect a little more service and attentiveness. Husband went to the rest room and a worker came out if the stall and didnt wash their hands. No mention from our waitress or menu on the added service gratuity. Experience is fun but not worth the money anymore.

Our experience with them was enjoyable, learning, and interesting. Our server learned that we are deaf and yet did an AMAZING job. They made us feel comfortable and be able to enjoy ourselves. We ordered The Complete Fondue Experience for Two (4 courses). Food and drink were good. The 3rd course was the best because of high-quality and protein. The rest were ok like ordinary. The cheese and chocolate fondues were really yummy, recommended. Inside was neat and tidy. Staff were friendly and polite.

To start our waiter Evan P was absolutely amazing he would always be sure to keep our drinks topped and made sure we knew exactly what we were getting. The menu is a bit confusing to understand but after picking out our foods it came out awesome, the proportions look very small but are very very filling. The place was a bit dim but very clean and lighting where necessary. Everything about my girlfriends and I experience was awesome, my only note is that everything is a bit pricier than seems fit and parking was limited. Overall I think it s a great place for special events!

We were seated quickly. Server got our initial order on time. Then she forgot our 2nd drink order and took way to long. Appetizer came on time. Then 2 other tables that got sat AFTER us got their Appetizers AND then entrees before us. When we asked for the manager a bald gentleman came over and had the demeanor of what do you want and why are you talking to me we said Our food is late. and side note its not like they have the excuse of excessive cook times being the melting pot. Later, after we got our entrees, Im assuming the head chef came out after no timely follow-up from our non existent server nor the offensive manager. The chef seemed like a nice enough guy but the manager and server need to be RE-Trained to ensure BASIC dining/restaurant etiquette can be exercised.

Great experience! If youve never been, its a must. Little strange that you cook your own entrees, but Id do it again. The food was good, the service was good, and its very private in your secluded booth style seating. That being said, for 2 people, its going to end up being around $150-$250 with drinks, after tip, so not the least pricey spot. Worth the experience imo. Kid-friendliness: Yes its kid friendly. But better for a more cozy adult dinner.

Went for date night and we had an excellent time! We made a reservation online, not sure if this is absolutely necessary though. You start with cheese fondu of your choice. We added the charcuterie option to it for the meats. Then a salad, followed by the main course with meats and veggies fondu in a seasoned broth (see pics). It was delicious! Then this is followed by chocolate fondu of your choice with fruits and sweets like marshmallows, waffles, rice cakes etc. We also had a fruit margarita each that we both enjoyed! We had excellent service the whole night. The setting was romantic for our date night, and we even got a bouquet of flowers! Definitely will return for double dates etc. Parking: Parking goes all the way around the side of the building. We had no issue finding a spot.
