My wife and I have been extremely impressed with Sonja and her team. We have spoke to many firms about representing us in an adoption case and they seemed extremely expensive or just collected a consultation fee and never followed through. In 2016 I walked into Ms. Sims office feeling defeated. After my meeting with her, I felt like I had a fighting chance. It turns out that I did!!!! With her at my side, I received the standing to bring the lawsuit that ultimately led me back to my son. During the process, Ms. Sims was communicative and very caring. Sonja and Jason really helped us out when our children were in danger of being taken by CPS. CPS had already shown up to our house twice without our knowledge and got Judges orders to enter our house and take our children. Sonja and Jason put a stop to the action and helped us negotiate a beneficial time for a home inspection. We are very grateful. They comforted us and assured us that they would help us every step of the way. We ultimately were completely vindicated and nothing happened, but it was very stressful before Sonja and Jason got involved.

As a CASA volunteer it is usually hard to get attorneys to follow up on cases, but Ms Sims rapidly returned my calls and ensured I was well informed with every detail of the case I was working on. When I found Mrs. Sims, I was going through a very ugly divorce and I was being represented by another attorney who I still don t think should be allowed at all to continue to his practice. Mrs. Sims was such a huge help and Heaven sent. She was extremely honest and upfront about everything with me and operated with pure integrity. On the other hand, my ex-wife came at me with a nasty bully of an attorney, who really got nowhere with her tactics. I believe that is simply because when you do things with honesty and integrity and pure heart, the right things will happen for you. That is what Mrs. Sims did. She protected me and kept my best interests in mind throughout every step of the divorce. Everything worked out perfectly in the end. To add to that, she is extremely knowledgeable and full of wisdom. I believe that is why she is so great at what she does. I never saw an ounce of selfishness in her. Sonja Sims is, by far, the most remarkable lawyer. Whatever your family is going through she will always go above and beyond for you! Due to my inability to follow laws, I have had the opportunity to have worked with many, many lawyers. All the way from court appointed to the highest paid and none of them would even come close to Sonja. She truly cares about her clients, which is not something I can honestly say about a lot of other lawyers. She was recommended to me by another lawyer when I was fighting a CPS case and from the first time I met with her, I knew she was going to be the best lawyer for me. She is not your typical lawyer, she returns phone calls & texts very quickly, she makes sure you understand everything that is going on with your case, even the smallest details dont get past her. Mrs Sims and all her colleagues, that I had the pleasure of dealing with, were AMAZING! With Covid and just all the uncertainty that goes along with an adoption they made it as less stressful as possible. They responded quickly to every call or email and occasionally talked me through my emotions, we all know that you can sometimes feel as though your on a roller coaster. With everything being virtual and myself not so tech savvy they even helped direct me on how to be prepared for court so there were no complications with that either. No Body wins in family Court I always heard that saying but never understood the full meaning. I came to Sims & Purzer with mindset and a plan to get full custody. I had the financial means and the motivation to get what I felt was the rightful thing. With any case during Covid , things change and outcomes change. I learned that compromise and acceptance is the truly lawful thing when going to battle with a narcistic other party. I had shopped around for an attorney. A client/attorney relationship is critical. I found Sonja after some time and knew it was a fit. Communication was clear and expectations. I almost never spoke to a paralegal. Everything was though text /email, which was amazing since I had to work throughout the day. Direct and fast responses during a stressful time and constantly changing court systems during the 2020 back log. Would I use Sonja again? Yes a 100x over.
