This was a birthday gift and I had the best time eating it all. My favorites in rank were: 1. The bone marrow, which was surprising because I normally dont like beef tartare. 2. The beef tenderloin, the meat was super soft and juicy. We ordered it cooked medium. 3. Chocolate bar, you could taste the coffee and it was just sweet enough. Butter cake, this was yummy. 4. Charcuterie board. For this one I only liked the Prosciutto di Parma, Big Red Wagyu Salami, LaGrein cheese, Honeycomb, Green Cerignola Olives, and the Calimyrna Figs. I was not a big fan of the Daneko Blue cheese. 5. Georges Bank Sea Scallops, I liked the pepper-jack cheddar Anson mills grits. The scallops were alright, this was my first time trying scallops. 6. Braised & charred octopus, I liked the potatoes. The octopus was alright, first time trying octopus.

Ive dined here many times and usually love the scallops, but this visit was a letdown. We started with the octopus, and while the flavors were off, it was manageable. The steak tenderloin, however, was drenched in an overly salty chimichurri, and the sharp cheese in the potato gratin only added to the dishs lack of cohesion. Even the cauliflower carried the same overwhelming saltiness. A simple approach with salt and pepper would have worked better. To top it off, everything was crammed onto a small plate, making the presentation feel clumsy. Ironically, the best thing we ate was the bread service-which isnt even made in-house; it comes from Bread Box. Overall, a disappointing experience.

To the manager that is working tonight that started mouthing off about how their restaurant isnt on favor and that they dont deal with delivery companies. You need to be retrained or push back to server. I have screenshots and proof that your restaurant is on the favor app. I hope the owner sees this post so he knows that his manager tonight which is Tuesday September 10th cost him an order that was going to be more than $300. And if the owner wants proof I do have screenshots or you can go download the favor app once you download it search for Bliss Restaurant and it will show you how your bliss order can be delivered by favor

Decided a little Bliss was in order to celebrate my birthday. This was a perfect way to kick off another year of taking in everything San Antonio has to offer. I had the tenderloin, he had the braised short ribs. Both were matched only by the potatoes with which they were served. Every bite was better than the last. We topped off the night with dessert, of course. The butter cake and chocolate bar... Goodness! The atmosphere and our server, Maricela made a lovely evening even better. Thank you, Bliss for a wonderful birthday experience.

Someone in my party made a reservation for inside and we got put outside upon arrival. The restaurant week menu was mandatory that the entire table did it, or no one at the table did it. This made people in our party make concessions for food they didn t want. My steak was ordered medium rare and it came out blue rare. $200 to feel like customer satisfaction was the bottom priority.

My reservation got changed by the restaurant from inside to outside without my consideration when it was 98 degrees outside. Waiter was rude and pretentious, treating us as if we were inconveniencing him. We were told we were not allowed to order the menu items we wanted because of our table mates orders during restaurant week. My husband s medium rare steak came back blue rare. Staff does not consider customer service and unaccommodating.

I enjoyed the overall experience. We ate outdoors which was hot but made it possible to get in on our schedule, so we didnt mind. They kept us well hydrated with cold water. The service was attentive and pleasant from the hostess to our server to all who supported the server in bringing out food. The appetizers were creative and visually appealing though the flavors of the oysters and hamachi didnt stand out very much. The bacon/pork belly(?) bits were my favorite part I think. The short ribs and mashed potatoes were delicious but the mushrooms seemed to have too strong of a flavor and I didnt appreciate the horseradish in the sauce but thats my personal preference. My friend found it delightful. For dessert, the butter cake was lovely both in flavor and presentation. Id definitely like to have a full portion next time (I tried my friends). The lavender cheesecake was pleasant. I dont usually enjoy flower flavors, but I enjoy cheesecake, blueberry and lemon curd, so I decided to risk it. The presentation was delightful, the lavender didnt dominate, but the cheesecake flavor didnt pop for me, so it was good but not great for me. Really a pleasantly situated restaurant with many highlights. I will say, I regretted not tipping more. I was a bit rushed and calculated slightly low for what I think was warranted for the situation and experience. Still well over minimum but just didnt think it through, so apologies to the servers on that.

This restaurant was a very nice experience. From the customer service to the food there was nothing I could complain about. At first the parking situation did put me off but Id happily wouldve walked a mile to get to that restaurant. I started with the Arugula salad, had braised short ribs as a main course, and ended with the butter cake. The staff was incredibly attentive but not so much that they were overbearing. It was such a nice relaxing place to enjoy your food and the people you went with. It really was pure bliss. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options Dietary restrictions: Gluten Free options

40th aniversary so we wont discuss price. Service fantastic. Octopus, duck, strawberry watermelon salad, scallops so perfectly cooked and plated like I never had before. Great wine selection and craft beers wonderful. Beef bone marrow not to my taste but kinda unique. Tenderloin tartar little sour on top of marror. Coated it with coarse pepper myself to make it better to me. Others seemed to like it alot. All in all a great experience for me and my lovely wife. We will be back to try the chef taste meal. Things on chefs meal are not all on the Al la cart menu. I found that strange but I guess it works cause were going back to try it out. Parking: Close to door, plenty open even with full house.

My family and I recently dined at Bliss Restaurant, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we walked in, we were captivated by the warm and inviting atmosphere. The service was impeccable, making us feel welcomed and well taken care of throughout our meal. We started with a delightful combination of cheeses that set the perfect tone for the evening. For our entrees, I chose the beef tenderloin, which was cooked to perfection. The recommended red wine pairing was spot-on, enhancing the rich flavors of the steak. My wife opted for the Georges Bank sea scallops, and she couldnt stop raving about how excellent they were delicately seared and bursting with flavor. Our son enjoyed the Duck Gras, a unique and flavorful dish that exceeded his expectations. His fiancée had the braised beef short ribs, which were tender, succulent, and simply divine. To top off our wonderful meal, we shared the chocolate bar for dessert. It was the perfect sweet ending, indulgent, and beautifully presented. Bliss Restaurant truly delivered on all fronts exceptional food, outstanding service, and a fantastic ambiance. We cant wait to return and savor more of their culinary delights.

Not bad, but not excellent. Like most places in San Antonio, over salted, much like here. NOBODY gets it. Salt is one of the fickle amendments to food. Too much, it s ruined, too little and the dish falls short. However, if less, one can always opt to tailor their plate to the way they like it. The service was 6 star! Atmosphere, mmmm, okay. Not high up there. Food was way overpriced for what one expects to receive. Bathroom clean & acceptable. Anyway, much better (all around) places to dine in SA for the price. This place could change for the better, but that would entail a full time chef to be checking the food and preparation. I can guarantee this ain t happening, 100%. My thoughts is that a chef creates the menu, trains some staff, and then lets them go at it without follow up. Anyway, that s what I got for you. By all means, go check it out for yourself. But after the meal, don t tell me I didn t tell you so.

Had a phenomenal time at Bliss! The restaurant is tucked away, which allows for an intimate dining experience. The Braised Beef Short Ribs were tender and cooked to perfection. The flavor, which was perfectly paired with a Horseradish Creme Fraiche, was so excellent I relished each bite. The sides of Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Candied Carrots, and Snap Peas all had their unique deliciousness as well. The George Banks Sea Scallops were also seared to perfection and were a great size. They were served on top of Pepper Jack Grits, which was the icing on the proverbial cake. Highly recommend this spot if you are in San Antonio searching for fine dining.

My husband and I had an amazing dinner at Bliss! We went to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. We thoroughly enjoyed our server, Bret s knowledge and recommendations. He shared fun facts about the specials and perfectly described the dishes we were interested in. His drink recommendations were also perfect! We started with the hamachi tostada and octopus. Both were incredible. The hamachi is really bright and flavorful. The octopus was so tender! I enjoy octopus when done right and Bliss does it right! We cleaned this plate off. My husband who is not an octopus fan loved it as well. We then had the arugula salad. I loved the combination in this salad. Our main course we split their special - 17 oz akaushi steak. If they have this during your visit, I highly recommend it. It was incredibly juicy and flavorful. Topped our night with the butter cake, which was warm, delicious and not overly sweet. With Bret s recommendation, we took a lavender goat cheese cheesecake home and so glad we did. The goat cheese and lavender weren t overpowering at all. So I think if you weren t a lavender person but like goat cheese and cheese cake, it s worth a try. We re definitely going to come back and try more of their regular menu items. I was eyeing the scallops but couldn t pass up the akaushi beef I think the only things that left me disappointed were that they asked if we were celebrating anything and didn t do anything special. I see they sometimes write sweet messages on your desserts, but that didn t happen for us. And lastly, we were sat by the wall under a vent. So the condensation from the vent would hit me occasionally which left me to wonder if it would get in my drinks or food I looked passed it though as I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner and a very rare night out with my husband. It was also a busy night and didn t want to bother asking for a new table, but that s completely on me. So can t complain. Overall, this was the best meal we ve had in San Antonio.

I came here for a meal because it was my birthday and left after being heartily congratulated. The staff kindly congratulated me on my birthday. It made my day great 1. Only one Crispy Oyster can be ordered. I like the smell of garlic and it was perfect as a finger food to start a simple meal. 2. The octopus dish came with potatoes, and the potatoes were fragrant, crispy, and had a nice peppery flavor. The octopus is crispier than potatoes, and the inside is soft and tastes like well-fried chicken. Even if you dont like coriander oil, I highly recommend it because its made sweet! 3. Grilled Bon Mero is recommended for inexperienced people and is enough for 3 people to share as a wine snack. 4. The goat cheesecake has a heavy feel as a dessert because the blueberries capture the unique goat cheese flavor well, but I recommend trying it.

Such an amazing restaurant! I put down the reason for our reservation was our anniversary, and the waiter congratulated us on our anniversary and even put a candle on our desserts for us to blow out and celebrate! It was a small detail but it made our visit so personal and intimate. Our waiter was also very good at making sure all of our questions were answered and helped us chose wines to pair with our main courses. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to try amazing food with a great atmosphere! Review of the food: -We had the arugula salad and charred octopus for our appetizers and they were both DELICIOUS! I ve never liked octopus until I had theirs! It was so tender and perfectly seasoned! The arugula salad came with dried figs and they were such a great addition to the appetizer and gave it a sweet note to the peppery arugula. -We ordered the braised beef short ribs and scallops for our main course and they were just as amazing! The scallops were buttery and so well cooked, and the ribs were so tender and juicy! The ribs came with buttery mashed potatoes and mushrooms that were pan fried to perfection! The scallops came with cooked spinach and grits that were seasoned perfectly as well! For dessert we had the butter cake and chocolate bar and it was a perfect end to our date! The chocolate bar was rich and smooth with mousse and some sea salt sprinkled on top to make the dark chocolate flavor pop, and it came with a scoop of coffee ice cream as a palette cleanser for when the chocolate cake got too rich. The butter cake was like an apple pie cake and came with a scoop of ice cream on top which made it the most warm and cozy dessert to enjoy!

This place is phenomenal. We went for the second time, and it was 10 out of 10, just like the first time. It happened to be restaurant week, so we went ahead and picked our items from that portion of the menu. We went with the arugula salad, beef tenderloin, Mediterranean branzino, pumpkin cheesecake, and the butter cake. Everything was done to perfection. Im not big into sweets or deserts, but the pumpkin cheesecake was outstanding. Bliss has exceptional service, top-notch food, and a great selection of fine wine. They do not have cocktails/liqour due to being within a couple hundred feet of a school/church, but you can actually bring your own if you wanted to. The outdoor area is lovely as well, so keep that in mind for when the weather is nice.

Their arugula salad was fresh and had a great blend of textures and flavors. They made a wonderful charcuterie board with different meats, cheeses, and accompaniments to choose from. My boyfriend s quail dish had one piece not thoroughly cooked well enough but the waitress and chef quickly remade the dish and we did not have to wait long at all. The Chocolate bar was nice as well. The coffee gelato complimenting the dish had nice deep coffee flavors to it as well. Enjoyable dining experience, would love to come back again next time we visit town!

Were fortunate to have a restaurant like Bliss in San Antonio. This establishment remains a local favorite. Each visit here is consistently outstanding, and the staff consistently exceeds expectations in creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Whether its a romantic date night, a celebratory dinner, or a special occasion, this place never fails to impress. My go-to is reserving a seat at the bar and indulging in Oysters accompanied by a couple of glasses of Champagne. Heres to many more memorable moments at Bliss - Cheers!

Wow! This restaurant is on top of our list for fine dining now. Their reserve wine list is pricey but definitely worth it! We got the bone marrow for appetizer that went well with our cabarnet along with our ahi ceviche appetizer and better than wagyu steak (rib-eye cut) entree (both were off the menu) were phenomenal! We truly enjoy our dinner especially when you let the waiter, like Brett, make recommendations on any pairing from your fave wine.... it will not disappoint! 5-star all the way!

This wonderful restaurant lives up to the reviews! Lets cut to the chase! Each and every individual food stands on its own flavor. This restaurant was cleverly developed from a 1930s gas station! The hostess was very friendly and welcoming and our server Candace was very attentive. She helped us make a couple of choices that we were thrilled we made. I had the short ribs and they were the best Ive ever had! Super tender, full of incredible flavor topped with a horseradish crema. Served alongside snap peas and a candied carrot. The desert was a decadent flourless dark chocolate cake! Everything was amazing and well be back soon! This restaurant lives up to its name... Parking: Parking is awesome! This has been one of our favorite restaurants in town, but Ive come away disappointed the last two times. Though the branzino and scallops were very good, Ive had better. Enjoyed the arugula salad. Thankfully, because the starters havent appealed to us lately. The goat cheese cheesecake was better in concept than execution. I didnt taste any goat cheese but rather a too strong hint of lemon. Maybe I was extra hungry on my recent visit, but for the first time, portions did seem small, as others have noted. Service, which has been a hallmark at Bliss, has been solid but perfunctory. I keep hoping theyll move beyond beer & wine only, but that doesnt seem to be the case. I would offer a wider selection of beers, then. The main inside dining area can feel crowded, though the back area is more comfortable. The food is almost always delicious, but I feel the overall experience has declined.

Let me preface this by saying that everyone was exceptionally nice and the food wasnt horrendous and they did get our order right. We started with the Hamachi tostada, that was fantastic. Everything else was downhill, lions mane mushrooms were overcooked and lacked flavor. The Quail was ok, it NEEDED SALT(Which they dont keep at the table). The skin was sad and tastless. The garnish (compote) the layer on top of the parsnip puree ruined it because the smothered it. Sometimes less is more which theyve seemed to learn with the portion sizes of the overall entrees but not overly sweet garnishes. The red snapper has skin thats soggy, not crisp. Its under seasoned, on top of a bed of cilantro risotto that did not taste like cilantro, it tasted like butter and cream. Dont say something flavored if it doesnt taste like that. The butter cake was gritty and dry they smothered it in sauce and ice cream which helped but overall a disappointment Overall it was a bland 250 dollar meal that I will not repeat. Im no stranger to fine dining, this just wasnt it.
