Great place to get a healthy meal. While this place has the 1950s - 1960s, feel with the decor and music. You cant go wrong eating here as these are the tunes that made America. We arrived and opted for a booth in the room off to the side. Our server, Shannon, greeted us and took our drink orders. Upon her return, we ordered our lunch. Pictured are the kids catfish meal, the salad that accompanied soup & salad menu item, and the chopped steak, with mashed potatoes and green beans. Note that the other pictures are from a previous visit and were the kids chicken tenders, club sandwich meal, and the fish special. All of the items pictured were good to taste. Shannon took real good care of us by stopping by to see if everything was OK and make sure our drinks were topped off. We really enjoyed the music. If you get a chance, visit the bar area and take a look at some of the signs - they should bring back memories, and the prices will shock you. Just know this place isnt just for older people. I think every age group would enjoy the food and decor. I hope your experience is as good as mine. Enjoy ! Parking: There is plenty of parking on each side and behind the restaurant. Note that the lines are a little faded, so park responsibly.

This was my first time visiting, and I ordered the snapper special with capers, tomato, heart of palm, mushrooms, and a delicious sauce. For sides, I had mac and cheese and butter beans, along with a cornbread. The snapper and butter beans were absolutely wonderful I loved them! The mac and cheese, while good, could have been a bit cheesier for my taste, and the cornbread had a Jiffy-like texture, which wasnt quite what I was expecting. I grew up with homemade cornbread, so that might just be a personal preference. Overall, nothing was bad just a few small tweaks would make it perfect! The staff is very friendly here and the service was quick, not to mention the beautiful decor <3

First time here. Just finished a most DEE-LICIOUS early dinner! The chopped sirloin with onions and gravy was done to perfection...not salt-laden and it was savory. The dill rice was yummy. Our server Shannon was engaging and readily shared menu tips. We felt like valued patrons, even though we had never been there before. We will definitely return (want to try the chicken livers) and will recommend 410 Diner to all who want fresh food, comfy atmosphere and good prices. Bon appetit! Parking: Ample. Hubby likes this diner. I could do without it. This diner does not serve breakfast which Ive never heard of in a diner establishment. Been here 3x & my last experience was it for me. I wont return. The waitress got our order completely wrong & I couldnt understand a word she said so I guess she didnt understand me either. My steak sandwich was all fat, stringy, arrived cold with even colder fries. It was not edible. Cornbread was dry. Never again.

Have been going to 410 Diner for 20+ years and just like always, this past Thursday 8/29, the food and service was on point. My wife and I took our friends for their first time and thought it was amazing. Our server Kennedy was very attentive, kept our drinks full and beer flowing. The staff would past by with smiles on their faces and even the owner, Dean came by our table to see if everything was alright. This restaurant never fails our expectations and wil be coming back. Keep up the awesome work!

Place inside and outside looks like a 50s diner. Ordered a special that came with two sides. The special was snapper and the sides I selected were mashed potatoes and carrots. This also came with cornbread. The snapper was excellent, came topped with capers, tomatoes, onions, mushrooms in a sauce that was amazing. The sides were also very good and after finishing the snapper I used the cornbread to soak up the sauce because it was really good. For dessert I tried the coconut cream pie and it did not disappoint. Service was great as not only did the waitress check up on me but two other staff members also checked in. Overall I was very pleased with food, service, and atmosphere while dining here.

This kitschy place is a neighborhood favorite. The menu has items you cant get anywhere else, like mushroom artichoke soup. The owner is super friendly and the only real issue is a long-term problem of waitstaff, which seems to be an industry problem.

Was treated awful and gaslit by the staff. I had amazing grilled mushrooms and margaritas and was so excited to find a place I could be a regular at close to home, I was bragging the whole first part of the experience to my boyfriend. When my entrée came out I noticed the shrimp was mushy and old, it tasted gross, I had to spit it out, Ive never had that texture from shrimp before. Floppy and mushy. I started to get nervous it was clear it had been sitting out for too long, was past time to throw out or poor food handling skills by the cooks, Im not sure. I told the waitress and she barely replied and grabbed the plate like she was going to throw it away and ignored me. I asked if there was a manager and she said no. I said can you take the shrimp off the bill at least, she did but I heard her complaining to other employees loudly saying she didnt know what was wrong and looked annoyed. I walked up to the counter and the owner of the restaurant was there and I asked if he could throw the shrimp away so nobody else eats it or gets sick, he got rude and defensive and said hes owned the restaurant for 50 years and that the shrimp isnt bad, and that it takes 4-8 hours to get sick, I said I know Im just scared/nervous. He then just walked away was angry and went and grabbed the shrimp to show it to me. It still looked old and was in high standing water which wasnt properly covered and he stuck his hand in it saying look its good shrimp. Ummm, okay? How am I going to know what hes showing me is the same he served me. thats not my place as the customer to know or be gaslit in to believing Im wrong. It tasted wrong and sour. I just walked out, I was absolutely shocked that nobody apologized and just said Im sorry or that theyd have no problems fixing the situation. Im really saddened because it was a cute place and I liked the atmosphere. I left the waitress a 15% tip even though she was rude too but its still not her fault. The owner could have easily said Im so sorry about that Ill look into it, is there anything I can do to make you feel better about coming back. But instead he was mad at me and seemed to not care to have my business again. I normally dont complain Ive just had food poisoning before and didnt want it again or for others to get it.

Not gonna lie, the food was really good. Their sandwiches were delicious and the service was great. My only complaint is that their desserts are WAY too expensive for thawed out frozen Marie calendar pies. I dont know if thats what they were, but $22 plus tax for 2 regular pieces of pie and a slice of chocolate cake is ridiculous. I shouldve known better since the dessert prices werent on the menu. Will definitely be back, but definitely NOT ordering any dessert.

The owner was very rude! I bought sea food platter that was very cold and dry. I asked the server if I can change the meal out and she responded I can t do nothing about that so I flag down the owner. He said he s been doing this 20 years and it looked perfectly fine & if I don t pay he will call the cops. Disgusting response, no offer to remake it, nor to remove it. Definitely won t be coming back it was crazy how we were treated we had no attitude just wanting fresh food. god forbid they be nice to a brown family. We were treated like such from the beginning on a $150 meal

410 Diner is a throw back to an early time period in 50s 60s. Decor includes a juke box, Betty Boop figurines, , Marilyn Monroe photos, & Route 66 signs. Nice atmosphere. This restaurant continues to serve comfort food at reasonal prices. We had eaten here a number of times before. AI brought me back recently. Returned several times since bringing along family members. The soups are always great. Never disappointed in flavors. Eaten their chicken livers, chicken fried chicken & other menu items. Plan on returning to supplement my monthly meal requirements.

Amazing off the chain food and service. Theres a reason during lunch you will have a difficult time finding parking! Stopped here for lunch and it was slammed. The waitress new to her role at this restaurant worked our table as if shed been there 10 plus years. The food was to die for. I never had an actual juicy chicken fried steak. Theyve always been dry and needed a sharp knife to eat. But I really only needed a fork to cut my huge chicken fried steak. And it was juicy. It made me a fan of a dish thats only been more of a last resort order off the menu for me. Going to 410 it is easy my first thought. 410 dinner is certainly a place to stop for good eats

Service here was excellent! Mary and Casey were so sweet and attentive. The place was packed and we found out why the food is fantastic. It has been over 15 years since I had eaten there. My friend was treating me to late lunch. Food was fantastic. I had the club sandwich with fries and a cold Root Beer. I am a big guy and half was filling. My friend had an oyster poor boy. Both are handicapped so the staff was very helpful. Our fantastic server was a young woman named Carolina. Oh my friend and I were so stuffed we took desserts home with us. Wheelchair accessibility: The staff helped us get through the entrance and showed us to a convenient table. It s a nice happy, go lucky atmosphere with the waitresses walking around with a smile. The diner is nice and clean and organized. The food portions are OK. The problem is the food has no taste. I had the steak burger with no taste. My wife had the chicken fried steak with mac & cheese. and mashed potatoes each were bland her plate came with cornbread that was at best OK. We finished the meal with a nice slice of apple pie. What a disappointing ending to a disappointing . This was our first time coming here. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants in San Antonio. The atmosphere, service and food were always great. This time was our last visit. We wont go back. Not sure if there was an ownership change or what has happened but it has changed. The burgers looked and tasted like they had been boiled, the chicken fried steak had no flavor at all, the cole slaw was extremely dry and nothing else at our table was good. We literally ordered dinner again when we got home because everyone was still hungry from not eating much of our meal.

One of my favorite places in SA. Food is phenomenal! Every time I go, I leave satisfied. Its one of my favorite spots but they close early. You can tell they make most things from scratch. What a neat place! Its like a trip back in time. I loved the outside of this building and the overall shape. It is truly a gem. Now on to the food which is why most people write reviews on here. I was so surprised at the quality and massive variety here. I got a strawberry milkshake that actually tasted like strawberry which is surprisingly a hard ask for most places. Not this one. I got a veggie plate here. I am calling all veggie lovers. There is so many options to choose from and all of the ones I tried were wonderful. My father got a fried pork chop and it was big enough for two men! I wish there were a place like this back home. Keep doing your thing, 410 diner. What a great hidden gem in San Antonio! Even though I went at a busy time, the staff did their best to take care of me and make sure everything was good. I visited this business this past Sunday. The lunch was fine, but pretty bland. I had to put salt on everything I ordered. My friend ordered their Salmon Caesar salad, and got food poisoning from it. They spent 6 days in bed vomiting after eating lunch here. I have tried to get in contact with the restaurant several times since this lunch to notify them of the bad salmon, to get my money back, and find out if the salmon was bad enough to need to go to the ER over. The manager on duty has refused to give me her name everytime I got her on the phone, and kept insisting that the owner needs to handle all complaints. It has now been a week, and no one has called me back or even offered a refund or anything for the harm they have caused. I will never be returning here, and I will be cautioning everyone who wants to go here to stay away. The customer service is abysmal, and they do not care if their food makes you sick. I plan to contact the health department if nothing is done about this, because it is not okay for this business to serve food that makes people ill and continue to get away with it.

Went with a big group of ladies and had a wonderful time! Everyone raved about their dinner. I can confirm that the fried shrimp is absolutely delicious! Portions are very generous. A wide choice of sides. Reasonable prices, friendly service, and fun diner atmosphere. And the dessert menu... oh my! Come hungry.

Me and my friend went In and the lady took our order she came back pretty quickly with the water.. then 5 minutes later she came back with the food that was a sign right there that the food was not fresh it was extremely luke warm it was not hot by no means that food was prepped the day before and warmed up mind you we showed up right at 11 when they opened so no excuse for cold food, the cornbread was the worst I ever tasted at at restaurant I wrote my concerns on my receipt did not tip and left the waiter chased me outside and told me to never come back because I was rude for saying the cornbread was terrible.. don t recommend I would never recommend

Oh my God. I had the best hotdog of my life. I needed to know which cook served me this big juicy dog. It was so big. I asked the waitress and she said Joseph has the biggest. Im going to ask for Joseph every time. He serves it up 11/10

We went while on vacation in the area. Later we found out that this restaurant was on diners and drive ins. However we had an amazing experience! 50s style atmosphere, lots of pictures and things from the 50s. Elvis and everything!! As a massive Elvis fan, I was so happy. We both ordered the chicken fried steak dinner and it was so delicious, the size was amazing and it was so delicious! Our waitress was extremely sweet and always checked on us and you could tell extremely experienced! I highly recommend this restaurant! Parking: Sort of a small parking lot but its a small intimate restaurant, which makes sense. However we had no issues of finding a parking spot.

Brought our daughter here on a Wednesday when she was in town visiting. Very disappointing. We got the blackened catfish & blackened chicken. The spice was so thick it was salty & overwhelming. The cornbread was also very dry. Came here on a Sunday a few weeks before Bringing our daughter here Outstanding melt-in-your-mouth tenderloin, mashed potatoes & gravy on toasted bread, salad & the lightest cornbread I ve ever eaten!! My wife got the chicken breast sandwich, fries & cornbread so much food we had to get 2 to-go boxes! Go for the tenderloin on a Sunday!

Hello! I visited this restaurant yesterday with my boyfriend. We had a wonderful time, the ambiance of the place is cute and was a nice quiet early date night place 5pm. The food was 3 out of 5 in my opinion. The onion rings and chili cheese fries were GOOD! We also got the 5 vegetable plate, definitely a miss. The chicken fried steak was not homemade, like from a Sysco truck. (pre-frozen) We will probably not be returning but it was a nice little date spot. Good vibes.

I have been visiting this restaurant for about 12 years and was always pleased with my food. This time we went to have a family meal and I ordered the vegetable plate. I was not pleased. Also, they used to give cornbread, no more. The chocolate shake was awesome, and my boys enjoyed their burgers. Our waitress was great, but the love was not there on the veggies (yellow squash, butter beans, senora casserole, a potatoe casserole that was chewy and tough at the same time).

Had the Bacon Wrapped Tenderloin with Broccoli and Salad w/thousand Island dressing. The Meatloaf, the Day special with mashed potatoes and salad. 410 Diner is a great place. I just picked the wrong dinner...The Meatloaf... was mushy... No texture whatsoever. Brown gravy and mashed potatoes was great. Easy on the tomatoes...your house salad. Your Thousand Island dressing was wonderful but next time I have to try your homemade Ranch. Chocolate Cake w/ Ice Cream was good. Will have to come back for the Chicken Fried Steak, Mashed potatoes and Salad w/Ranch dressing. :-)
