Its a great place for a special occasion. If you want to take some out of towners to enjoy the hill country, the food and ambiance, 100% recommended. I would encourage you to make reservations at least a week or more, depending on the size of your party. The place was packed.

My wife and I have birthdays a week apart, followed by our anniversary. A close friend recommended TRATTORIA, I have dined in restaurants all over the world, including some considered 5 STAR . I was amazed that this gem was 15 minutes from my house. You turn off the highway into the trees, a perfect setting ! Fountains, sunset, wow ! The service was impeccable, quick ,yet not rushed. Our server Aaron was great ! Professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. The food ! OMG ! Everything was perfect ! My wife claimed her filet was the best she had ever tasted. My Veal was beyond description. I now have a new favorite restaurant. You can dress up for a special occasion or maybe relaxed suits you, I cant say enough good things about Trattoria. I will say I will become a regular. Frank Callahan Kyle, Texas

As a place presenting itself as mid-high end, this was a place overrun at service time and lacking leadership. Even with a reservation, we were not seated until 40 minutes after our reserved time. The server came once, and spoke only to the end of the table to discuss drink options, then left. We had to ask about the special, it was never offered to us. We ordered two appetizers, calamari and fried artichoke balls. Both underseasoned. The calamari was pale and underfried, again due to the rush. A guest with me ordered ravioli and it was undercooked, leaving the pasta with tough edges. The filling was metallic and left a poor after taste. I ordered the seafood rissotto. A tomato-based sauce with scallops and shrimp, both of which were overcooked. A not so nice pairing in composition. The bill was tremendous. I just think that far too many people have become complacent with poor service and worse food since the pandemic came and went. Our money is being stretched thin and without anything being of quality. Stay home and cook your own pasta, it will come out, at the very least, just as good. But you wont be forced to spend so much.

It is getting more difficult to find a resteraunt where both the service and the food are solidly 5 out of 5. Erik was very attentive on an oddly busy Wednesday night, the veal, and fritters were piping hot, the beet and squash salad was well chilled, could not have found a better way to celebrate our anniversay.

Eric is my guy will never not dine with him. He extremely kind, attentive, hilarious, and able to read his tables vibe. Extremely helpful with the process of ordering and explaining the menu. He never made my friend and I feel rushed or unwelcome. He also made sure we let him know about any allergy and restrictions we may have had. Eric definitely deserves a raise! Overall splendid experience and would come back with nore people.

Trattoria Lisina has been a family favorite of ours for years!!! This is the best dining experience anywhere in the Driftwood, Wimberley, or Dripping Springs area, hands down. Always exceptional food and service that we know will never let us down. The property and restaurant is a very beautiful setting, not to mention the winery next door. Trattoria Lisina has the best salad in the history of ever: The Asparagus Salad here is unparalleled and is standard procedure for any visit of ours. Be sure and do not miss out on an amazing experience of the best gem in all of Hays County, Texas!!!

The owners were having a get together and 2 in our group (including myself) were drinking the Blackberry blush (hope I got that right) and the owners saved all the ingredients for themselves. So they owe me???? Beautiful place with a great atmosphere in the middle of nowhere. Be sure let your feet touch the lush green zoysia grass on the way out... You can thank me later..

August 2024 Trattoria Lisina is one of my favorite Italian restaurants where all the food is made in-house by an excellent kitchen staff. The restaurant is a great place to celebrate something special in your life or to enjoy great Italian cuisine. I recommend making a reservation either on their website of using the Resy app. This place a very nice so dress business casual but I actually wore shorts and a collar polo shirt since it was 100 degrees outside. I ordered the Mezzaluna which the menu described it as half-moon shaped ravioli stuffed with chicken, pork & Italian cheeses, in a tomato cream sauce. I also got a glass of Ca Bianca, Moscato di Asti as a refreshing drink for this hot weather. It was not a perfect pairing for my meal so had a glass water for my meal. My wife ordered her usual off the menu spaghetti & meat balls. I believe it was the Mamma Graces meatballs which was very tasty. The Mezzaluna ravioli was also delicious and had great flavor. It was presented very nicely and truly enjoyed it. Before out meal we also had bread and it was also wonderful with the olive oil. Overall we once had a great experience and walked outside to enjoy the gardens.

We have loved this restaurant. This is the 3rd time over the last 4-5 months that we could not get separate checks. We were a party of 6 & arrived at 4:45 pm (far from full). We eat out a lot around Wimberley, New Braunfels etc & every other restaurant doesn t seem to have an issue with separate checks. All of us had a dinner salad with our meal. I ordered a ranch dressing substitute vs the vinegarette & was charged an extra $2.99. Seems very petty for what you are spending there. Other service issues regarding wait time for food and drinks!! Just disappointed overall.

CHECK YOUR CREDIT CARDS VS RECEIPTS. We came here for dinner, the food was good I will give them that. The drinks were good as well. The wait for the food was a bit longer, but nothing outrageous. The problem is the server tried to tip himself more than I authorized. I tipped 20% on the bill, and after checking the credit card statement I noticed an extra $20-25 charge. After contacting the restaurant they conducted their investigation apparently the server claimed that I told him to tip himself an extra $25. This conversation never happened between me and the server. The manager said he will refund me the difference, but didnt seem to concerned about this. Clearly this was attempted credit card fraud, if it has happened to me I guarantee it has happened to others. The food/drink tab is usually fairly large so most people dont notice an extra $10-20. I will comeback to this restaurant, but I will definitely avoid this server.

When I first moved to Austin, I was a little skeptical of people mentioning how good this place was after moving from a place with some of the best food options in the US. Italian isn t necessarily what comes to mind, usually more BBQ and anything red meat related. I was happily wrong. Truly a gem of unexpectedly authentic food with a great interior/exterior to match. The Tuscan vibes really come through. I ve tried half the menu at this point and everything has been delicious. Staff has always been super nice and professional.

Lots of hidden fees including for plates to put your cake that you have to cut yourself (who does that??), won t split checks (what the heck?), lies about their availability (told a party they were full when there were 20+ tables available), and management is rude. Not accommodating even in the smallest ways. Small cheese pizza is $20+! The pizza was crummy, barely any cheese, and very small! The lights don t work in the women s bathroom. Huge trip hazard! We did our wedding reception with 30 people in a private room which also had a private entrance. (FYI, future weds; we did not try out nor see Trattoria Lisina until the day of the reception. Went based on photos, and reviews; no regrets!) We were in contact with Ashton who was very responsive and professional! The restaurant was very caring and attentive for those who have food allergies and special dietary restrictions. The food was absolutely fantastic!!! We went with 5 course for lunch which was well enough to feed everyone and for them to take some home with which the restaurant was so kind enough to pack for us. Highly, highly recommend Rigatoni con Prosciutto e Funghi - everyone talked about how good it was, there were none left, and we think about it all the time now. Also, tiramisu and mascarpone cheesecake are to die for. Trust me!! Last but not least; the atmosphere is just amazing. It feels like you re in Italy and it s absolutely a treat!! Ordered Calamari Fritti to start, followed by out entrees. The Pollo Al Mattone was overly salty, which could be caused by careless overseasoning since they probably brined it and the potatoes were drenched in oil/butter. The Taglierini was also drenched in lemon butter, but the scallops and shrimps were cooked decently well. Sadly, the overall food presentation was mediocre for a place considered as fine dining. I wouldn t visit again, especially since it took us a long drive to arrive at this establishment.

this was probably one of the worst fine dining experiences Ive had. we accidentally came late because we thought our reservation was at 5:15, but arrived within the 15 minute grace period & were basically given the peasant treatment. not sure if this was because they had a private event happening, but the hostess took us to a table in the back corner facing the wall with only one chair lol. our server was amazing & offered to move the table over a few feet so we werent facing the wall & moved a chair from a different table for us. we thought no big deal we came late so thats fair, food should still be good right? we ordered the caesar salad, seafood risotto, & steak with the mushroom wine sauce. their bread was amazing, but the caesar salad had stale croutons. a different server brought out our mains & said the food came out earlier than usual. I wish they wouldve taken their time because the risotto wasnt cooked all the way, the steak was missing the sauce which we had to ask the server for, & the potatoes that came with it were also undercooked & were cold. by that point, there was no reason to order dessert. i took 4 bites of the risotto & boxed it to microwave at home. our main server was great, but that wasnt enough to make this a good experience. blonde hostess who appointed us to the peasant table didnt even say bye as we walked out, yikes. used to love this place, but quality has definitely gone down which is disappointing. i would say its closer to a 4.2 if youre lucky enough to get food thats fully cooked.

The bolognese was very delicious and a good portion, as was the chicken. Prices range between 35 - 50 for the second course and a glass of wine 14 minimum, so if the plan is with the whole family you can get an idea of what you will spend

Beautiful setting and delicious food! The sunroom looked inviting, but had to stay indoors as there was a wedding going on. Our server was very sweet too, and attended to our needs every moment. We also ordered two glasses of wine, merlot and chardonnay. Everything came up to about $90 including tips. The price could have been a bit lower.

Food was delicious. Service was good but not great. My husband and I were celebrating my birthday and made a trip there, especially for that. We had noted on our reservation as well as my husband told the waiter. When it was time for dessert, nothing was said. I asked for pistachio gelato which I love and the restaurant was out. no other options were given to us. It was very nonplussed. Disappointing. It was a good lunch, not special.

Food is fabulous! Hostesses need to be replaced! When we checked in, we were told to wait closer to our reservation time, which was 15 minutes. No big deal! We came back 15 minutes later and they can no longer find our reservation and we are not in the system . The clueless manager attempt to help find our table while the other hostesses whisper. It was obvious the original person we talked to messed something up. They proceeded to give us attitude while they talked about how there was someone at our table after finally finding us . They put together a makeshift table shoved in a corner next to a curtain. Then the hostess says ok go as our que to follow to other hostess. Waitresses were great, but it s hard to get past the terrible customer service from the start. Super disappointing.

Wow. I ve been here before and had a great experience. I think the food is absolutely amazing. Unfortunately, this time we were treated terribly from the beginning. The two girls up front lost our reservation even though we had checked in 10 minutes beforehand. Therefore our table was given away and they were left scrambling. This wasn t a big deal . Mistakes happen. It was the fact that they were extremely rude to us and when they finally found a table for us crammed in the back, the just said ok, go. Also, the manager was just standing there the entire time hearing it all. Our waitress Jordan was great but honestly I just couldn t get past being condescended by an 18 year old. I ve never had someone be so blatantly rude to a costumer. Who knew that insisting we had a reservation and showing the confirmation number would be so triggering. Will not be back.

Absolutely Loved the entire experience. The food was divine and the service was even better. We met Bri upon entering and my wife commented on her cross necklace. She was a blessing. Then Charlie, our waiter told us of his plans to go on a missionary trip. We also met Charlies brother (Mitch)and mother (Michelle) , who both work there. The whole family blessed us enormously; add to that the exquisite cuisine and we had an experience we will not soon forget. Oh, did mention the manager(Robin) gave us a copy of their cookbook gratis? THANK YOU!! Youll be seeing us again.

This gem of a spot has seen me walk through its doors three times now, and it never disappoints. Here s the rundown: - Bread? Beyond amazing. - Caesar salad? A leafy masterpiece. - Steak options? So good, it s almost unfair to other steaks. - Pasta dishes? Transcendently delicious. - The brick chicken? No exaggeration, it s the best chicken to have ever graced my taste buds. And let s not forget the wine selection it s as outstanding as the view from a neighboring, equally impressive winery.

Lovely setting and decent food, the service is usually good as well. We like to go when in area mainly for the lovely grounds and the gluten free pasta option. Gelato & gluten free desert cookies are good too! Dietary restrictions: Gluten free friendly options for pasta, pizzas, salads, cookies , and gelato. About 80% of the menu is GF friendly. Parking: Always found parking. Kid-friendliness: See kids even small infants in this restaurant, women s restroom has a great changing table.

A charming location but unfortunately out table was in the line of all waiters serving all customers. The ordering experience seemed disjoint and rushed. Our meals were hit and miss. The meatballs were very good. The calamari was a bit dry. The ribeye was overcooked and the pasta dish was lukewarm at best. The bottle of white wine was underwhelming and also not cold. The filet Marsala was excellent and perfectly done. The lasagna was also excellent. Both were dishes to get again.

Ive been looking for the opportunity to take my wife on a date night dinner to Trattoria Lisina for a couple of years. Its taken that long because its 90 miles from our home, so its a drive we need to be prepared for. On a Sunday afternoon, she mentions she would like to go to Buccees in New Braunfels. Well, heres my chance, and we were NOT disappointed. The drive from I35 was fun...lots of twists and turns and finding the entrance was very easy; its well marked. We happened to arrive right at dusk and were afforded the opportunity to watch the sun set over the vineyard. Amazing!! Our reservation was for 7:30pm so we had a few minutes to admire the area and take a quick walk through of the wine tasting room. We were seated at exactly 7:30 and met our waiter, Tristan. The restaurant was shockingly busy for a Sunday night, but after getting our food, I understand why. We started with the most delicious bread and seasoned olive oil....that my wife is now trying to replicate at home. That was followed by the Antipasti E Salumi Misti (starters and mixed cured meats - pictured). We ordered the Bistecca Alla Fiorentina (16oz ribeye) and the Costata di Maiale (grilled porkchop with cherry mostarda). The steak was well prepared, medium rare....how a steak should be cooked. The porkchop was EXQUISITE!!!! Tristan, the waiter, was fantastic. He prompt, attentive, and did bother us while we were eating. If you find yourself anywhere close to San Antonio, Austin, Waco, Houston (haha), I highly recommend making the drive to Trattoria Lisina for an outstanding dining experience.

Too crowded. Needs about 5 less tables in every room. This makes the restaurant too noisy. Cesar salad should not be named award winning as it was boring and the 3 croutons it contained were soggy from sitting in the back for who knows how long. The non alcoholic cocktail came without a flower. The steak and potatoes were cold while the lasagna was pretty tasty. Both desserts we wanted (tiramisu and chocolate cake) were no longer available at 730pm on a Sunday night. Overall was way over priced, too noisy, at least 100 people walked within 1 foot of our table while we ate there and it made us feel super claustrophobic. Wont be back. Far too many better restaurants than this.

First time visiting this restaurant. I will be back! Ill say this upfront, reservations are recommended. The inside of the restaurant is nicely arranged, the staff is well trained, and the food is delicious. We had 14 in our party, and unfortunately, we did not make reservations until about 30 days before being in the area. So, they could not seat us all together at one table. In the end, its actually worked out for the best, having 7 people at each table. Lets just say that better conversations took place. We had the house white ( a Pino) and red wines. I had the red, and it was fantastic! Apologies, I do not recall the name of the wines. I had the veal piccata with green beans pachino, while others at our table had the lasagna alla bolognese, fettuccine alfredo with scallops, etc and I did not hear one bad thing about the main course. Apologies, I was so excited to see some old friends, I forgot to take pictures of the food and place. Parking on this visit was easy. Possibly, because of the time of the year.

Ive rated this place several times before, always 5 stars. Went for my birthday this week and ordered the ribeye. What happened? This time it was thin and tough, definitely not a prime cut for sure. Lacked that wood grilled taste it had in the past. Sides were great, as was the service, but never ordering that steak again. Stick with the Italian dishes.

Yesterday, my wife and I decided to try an impromptu meal, without a reservation, at Trattoria Lisina with a fairly large party while touring the hill country. The host did not think there was availability, but the manager, Robin, checked on a couple of things and found us a table. She came by the table a few times during the meal to check on us, and even brought over some pizza dough for our kiddos to play with - a real lifesaver for them! The food was wonderful, the service was excellent, and we will definitely return. We dont often see a manager go to the lengths she did to ensure that the guests have a memorable time dining out, but she made our day!

We have been going to the Trattoria over the years for date nights, birthday celebrations, and when distant family is in town. The last two times have not lived up to the reputation or prices. We had a lunch with 8 people this afternoon. Both the service and food were not great. Our server was not interested in taking care of our table. Not sure if he was having a bad day or if he was leaning on the 20% auto gratuity added for a party of 8. We were left with empty drinks and he would disappear for long periods of time. The only person that checked on us was the nice girl checking our water. I tried to wave down our server as he was leaving other tables near by and he never looked over. There was also a lady walking around with an ipad. Not sure what she was doing but she looked right at me and kept walking without asking if we needed anything. Our order took 1 hour to hit our table, which is way too long, even for an upscale meal. The food had some issues as well. Nothing major, but not up to par for their prices. One of our party ordered the ribeye medium. It was way over charred, medium well, and had a burned taste to it. Its covered in mushroom sauce so he didnt request it to be fixed, especially with the lack of service from our waiter. I had the seafood risotto. The shrimp was way overcooked and my scallops didnt have any crust on them. More like they were heated up and sliced. The flavor was ok but just a strange issue from Trattoria. Normally we would ask for a manager but we had two kids with us and already waited an hour for our food. We didnt want anything remade. Bottom line...food was just ok, and the waiter service was terrible. They also started covering up the plants for the incoming freeze in front of the windows. This would of course seem normal if it wasnt kitchen staff in a hairnet and full uniform doing it, while the food took 60 mins to hit our table. Very strange experience.
