Wasnt sure what to do when walking in. No hostest stand. So went to the bar to be looked at With no one speaking or acknowledging us! We Finally stopped someone to ask. Sit down and we will come to you we were told. Did that! We wanted simple pours, Ketel and a splash of Soda.... after 10 minutes we finally were able to order. We wanted to order food however after 30 min @ the table w/1 drink & no one cking on us we tabbed out! Never going back! We were charged $2 per drink for a soda..... ridiculous gouging! We all travel OFTEN for work and socially.. Hoped a town like San Angelo would have better service than this. We will not return and cannot recommend! Update: 7/23 - Not only was this a horrible experience, in reviewing my credit card statement, my charge is there and completely posted. There is now a another charge pending for >$30.. This will absolutely be disputed!!!

Flat breads and wine selection were nice. Good size and flavor on the flatbreads. Charcuterie board was tasty but not worthy of price point based on amount. Over all atmosphere and art area were amazing with regular and varying art shows/exhibits. A variety of truffles and other dessert options to round out the evening.

A refreshing take on similar establishments that market themselves as wine bars. As you enter you can appreciate the spacious, historic building with character. The staff are welcoming and accommodating. A well stocked bar, compliments the nice wine selection. There are small plate sized selections to accompany your beverage. It is a nice selection for an event, yet lending itself for a more intimate setting. Raw 1899 has all the sophistication; yet is welcoming as an old friend.

When I lived in San Angelo in a nursing home and in a wheelchair, Raw was the first place I went at my first taste of freedom in over a year. They were so, so kind and always were happy to see me. My life was a medical disaster but I could always feel like myself at Raw. My daughter always spends part of her Christmas vacation with me. She s a big city girl having been raised Dallas and now living in Manhattan. I m a big city girl too. Both of us were pleasantly surprised by the beauty of the space, the atmosphere, and the kindness of the owners and their staff. Not your usual San Angelo experience. I was so happy that Raw survived 2020. They played a significant part in my surviving the toughest challenges of my life. Wish they were up here. Who knows. Maybe, I ll come back for a visit.

Favorite place for wine and charcuterie in town by far. Huge selection of carefully picked wines and meats and cheeses to assure pairings for every palate possible. The venue is spectacular all alone with half art expo store and half wine bar. Out back is a beautiful fire pit and patio as well for the al fresco experience. The staff Thana and Lisa are just amazing people and the bar staff they hire are equally as awesome no matter who I get there. All kinds of interesting people are encountered here each time I go. Its the kind of place the draws in the true wine (and beer) fan as well as those who enjoy a real deal unique charcuterie board to amplify any wine tasting experience. A must stop place for all locals and even the passerby tourist for sure.

We went with our 6 and 9 year old boys for about an hour. This place is small but the staff is friendly and happy to get animals out for the kids to pet and see up close. They have a lot of reptiles but other animals too. Most of the animals are inside so also a good hot day activity. Overall, a nice little side trip.

When you walk in, the warm, small town welcome with the benefits of an upscale art gallery in places like New York or California, make the experience like nothing you will find anywhere in San Angelo. The music plays just enough to set the atmosphere however, not so loud you cannot have a conversation. A great place to take a date, mingle with friends or just unwind with a wonderful glass of wine.

Its beautiful and very swanky, however even though I saw several servers running around, it took 30 minutes before someone took notice of our party of four. Im assuming it was one of the owners who finally came over. If I, as a woman had an opinion about what kind of wine I wanted, you sure wouldnt know it because the owner rudely dismissed me and was only interested in the opinion of my male partner. I persisted and suggested a wine made by a local winery and she was rude again. This place wont be my first choice unless its my only choice.

Wow! This place makes you forget you are in the small town of San Angelo! The technology is so updated, servers have an iPad and know immediately if the wine you ordered is available or if a bottle is already open (meaning you can sample it). Large variety of cheeses to choose from as well as crackers and jellies. Delicious salami and olives. I would have to say my favorite thing is the patio. The furniture is comfy and the fireplace is beautiful. The bathroom is clean and tidy. Such a nice place to hang out and enjoy yourself.
