The food was good, I just feel like the burrito portions are a little small and the choices for kids entrees need to have more variety. Im not sure what the musky smell is when you walk in but I feel like it would make it pretty difficult to sit in there to eat, so Im glad we placed our order over the phone and took it to-go. Overall everyone was happy with the food we got. I know not all problems can be fixed but reading through the reviews it seems Im not the only person who noticed the smell. Parking: Parking lot is small considering how big it is inside Kid-friendliness: Theres only a few options of kids entrees to choose from Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of handicap spots and the front door has a ramp so no need to worry about steps

We visited San Angelo for the weekend and stopped here for breakfast. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros, the salsa had some heat, just the way I like it, and the beans and potatoes (hash brown) were also very tasty. My guy ordered the egg and pancakes, his pancakes were huge and so fluffy. Our gentleman waiter was very attentive. Good and fast service. We will definitely be back!

Update! Still good food but prices are up like everyone elses. But they charged me a non cash adjustment charge of 1.18. For debit. I dont think thats even legal. And beers are $5 each. Not happy with them today as we usually were! -------- We love Hidalgos! They have excellent food and nice staff. Better prices than most places. They have specials monday through saturday available for lunch. The menu is mostly Mexican food, but they do serve some hamburgers or chicken fried steak etc. Breakfast too. We like to call in an order for pickup on our way home sometimes. By the time we drive by, its about ready. Its easy and quIck to pick up, Pretty quick to be seated also!

Me and my family showed up to eat here (05/22/24) waited in the lobby for 15min. We did not see a single employee. I walked into the Dinning area and still didnt see a employee. Best Mexican Breakfast in San Angelo. The breakfast tacos are called breakfast burritos for good reason-they are generously filled with goodness! The shredded hash-browns are perfectly crisp and oh-so yummy. My Wife loves the Picasso (Sp) sauce that comes with her meal and asks for extra. Tall beverages top of the meal. We eat here every time we visit San Angelo from Houston-usually several times. Parking: Parking can be tough-just look behind the restaurant and on the side street next to it.

My husband and I just came from there, those people are very polite, Im 56 years old, Ive eaten a lot of Mexican food, and my green enchiladas, rice and beans were some of the best Ive ever eaten, everything was excellent!!! We will be going there again, I highly recommend it!!!

The food was ok not very flavorful, but that wasn t what bothered me. When paying the price came out to $5 more than what I had added everything we ordered up to be, and when going to pay I wanted to put my own amount for a tip and there system only had 17percent tip or higher which I didn t feel the service we got was worth an $8 tip.

The atmosphere was great. I had breakfast there on mothers day and so it was extremely busy. I wont mark down for how long it took the waiter to get my coffee. I can only suggest that if you like stronger coffee, either request it from the server or dont go there. I suggest having stronger coffee, that would make for a perfect breakfast place. Other than that, lovely place to gather with family or friends.

Sometimes here isnt always the greatest but it was today everything was perfect. I brought home left overs, a couple of days after being in my fridge, I was little hesitant about reheating my food, because I have learned that sometimes it doesnt taste like it did the first day. Service was good. Unlimited Free chips and salsa were really good and a bonus, unfortunately the rest of the meal was not very good. Fajitas were overseasoned with lemon pepper and dry. Didnt come out sizzling like so many other places. Cheese dip had very little flavor and guacamole was kind of watery and mushy tasting. Was really disappointed as we are in an area that should have great Mexican food. Our table was right next to a bunch of paint cans, so the atmosphere was not the best.

Had the chicken fajita salad. I was not able to chew the chicken so put aside and concentrated on the small amount of lettuce, 2 small partial slices of tomato, and a few grilled onion pieces. If I had been dining in, would have sent entire salad back to kitchen. We have dined at that location for years and that salad was the worst I have ever had.

We are a group of 21 people (from different countries and languages) but they wanted authentic food from Mexico, so I came to reserve the tables and a young man 100% HISPANIC or LATINO received me cordially and spoke to me in English, thats fine, its the right thing to do but I ask him for the Menu and I guess I asked him a simple first question in Spanish and he tells me.... SORRY, I DONT SPEAK SPANISH...!!! There is nothing wrong with that... but ........ Who guarantees that what I am going to order for 21 people will be brought to the table correctly??? How do I know that the Mgr or Cosinero speak or understand Spanish??? Im just expressing my opinion, I have nothing against someone who doesnt speak Spanish in a HISPANIC business, but I wont be able to cover the cost of 21 people if I dont have someone we can understand and leave the restaurant happy?

Very disappointed with the service and the food. The quality of food here has gone down immensely. Flautas were burnt to a crisp. Enchiladas were very bland. Rice was horrible. All in all food is not worth it. Server was not very into serving or fulfilling our needs. Didnt come back to refill drinks ask us about our food. Didnt even come back to give us our ticket. Told cashier food was burnt and Server was not very helpful and he just laughed so will not be returning to this place.

I had the moros breakfast plate , I requested that my bacon be cooked on the grill because they normally deep fry the bacon. When my breakfast came out the bacon was as hard as a rock. I requested more bacon cooked like I requested . It took so long for my second request for bacon that I wa finished eating .

Service was horrible. They have really lost their touch. Usually went with some guy named Raul and usually very good. But he seems burnt out on it now where he kinda seemed like he didnt want to waot on us. We are usually very good tippers but my son didnt like the coke and he asked for sprite and they didnt even get a new cup so the sprite was brown. Food wasnt great. And was hard for someone to come and check on us

My mom and i took a chance on this. No good. Service was poor. The food though served in large portions was very poorly seasoned. The chips were standard but salsa was extremly bland. I ordered the chili reonose (sppelling) green peppers ok but they served the whole top with 3 inches of stem attached and the bottom of the pepper with a knob of inside ribs inside the food. Gross!
