Great Atmosphere. Wonderful food. Big bar selection with various craft drafts. Line was entirely to long. With one cashier to take orders for a line of around 20 people. Great location with an awesome view of the Concho River. Parking is tight in downtown San Angelo but not to bad for its location. Kid friendly but with a bar for parents.

The food was good,warm, fresh, well done like I asked also fast service.The staff could be more attractive. Im not sure if theyre supposed to wait the tables? But nobody came over to check on us. They were fully staffed . Probably about I dont know 15/20 people that work there.. I must say there was a gentleman back and forth wiping the tables off at 11:30. Like wiping them off from the night before. The milk shake was watery and not cold at all. Did not care for it. When I look at some reviews. People were raving about them. So there you go. Sry but the place was very filthy and dusty. Bathroom stall , walls and doors. The bottom of the toilet and the front of it was so dirty. The chairs,windows,mirrors,doors,Drink machine just filthy. The fan had dust flying off it.Cob webbs. Decor very neat but dusty. Needs a good very good cleaning. I know they see that stuff. They need to close down for a week. And put all those people to cleaning. I cannot see the kitchen I wonder how dirty it was.

Disgusting!! Ceiling fans covered in filth, entrance covered in trash, cashier, stuffing her face with customers waiting to order, doesnt wipe her mouth, or clean her hands and is still chewing while tending to the next inline. AC broken, smoke everywhere, its at least 80 degrees inside. I was quick to grab my own cup as I could only muster to order a drink. DISGUSTING DISGUSTING DISGUSTING!!

Everything I ate was fabulous. Braden was wonderful behind the bar. Austin and Xavier were attentive to the customers. The only thing that would have made it a 10/10 experience would have been if the air conditioning was working. I was sitting at the bar with sweat dropping down my face. Also, the online menu does not reflect what is served in the restaurant.

The food and drinks are excellent with super friendly bartenders. The atmosphere used to be great as well, but the AC is currently broken, and while they have a lot of TVs, they do not have a package that allows them to play major games. Anybody want to watch Troy State? They re on but no UT or A&M.

Im from Florida and was in town for the weekend. A friend of mine suggested I visit this place. After exploring the town on foot i decided to go there. On Saturday 14th 2024 at approximately 2:15pm I entered the restaurant and decided to seat at the bar for a cold citrus beer. I waited for 15min before any service was provided. When the bartender finally decided to serviced me, I stated Ive being waiting for 15 minutes while he was chatting away with another employee. I asked if they had any citrus beers. Instead of apologizing for my wait, with attitude he says they are out of citrus beer. I said thank you and kindly got up and walked out of this establishment. In a short distance away from this establishment I walked in to the (Angry Cactus restaurant) where there was much better bartenders and service. I do not recommend Twisted Root Burger Co. Go to Angry Cactus restaurant for much better service.

The vegetarian quinoa, black bean burger is very crumbly and falls apart. I had to scoop the remainder with a spoon. I would love to see them have a more cohesive veggie burger. I do give them points for it being housemade and natural though.

The burgers are ok. I m a big meat eater. I order 2 8iz Pattie s but I know that that was not was 1 lb of meat so be prepared for that if trying to order a lot of meat. The Pattie s themselves don t have much flavor so ketchup and mayo needed. They need seasoning. The atmosphere is cute and service was good but definitely need to work on flavor. Need some seasoning.

We ordered takeout for my wifes birthday. My wife has been here before and loves it, she says the best thing is the freshman 15 and the fat Elvis. I ordered the the Verde burger with a side of fried pickles. We both enjoyed our meals and even when doing take out it tasted amazing. The kids loved the hotdogs and hamburgers and ate every last bite, for my kids thats a plus. The service was great, some things that concerned me was when I was trying to place my order over the phone, the person in charge kept having to tell the other employees to take food to certain tables but overall he was helpful and attentive. I would recommend coming to check this place out. P. S. If they are still doing construction on chadbourne go to avenue A south of the restaurant and then turn on to chadbourne heading north and you can get to the parking lot.

Had the Smores shake and the Spicy Goat burger with a venison patty. The venison was super tender and not gamey - delicious! And they put a looot of goat cheese, which I was very pleased with. The shake was huge too! Lots of whipped cream, 3 hot roasted marshmellows on a skewer, and graham cracker. Ill be back

I suppose the restaurant being slow on a Friday evening should have been a clue about what to expect. The restaurant was overall dirty (particularly the fountain drink machine, pickle bar, and mens restroom), the staff had an obvious attitude that they did not care & were just marking time until they could go home, and the food was served at or just above room temperature. Total wait time between ordering and being called over the loudspeaker was about 45 minutes (for 2 burgers and one order of fries). While we were eating, the staff started closing up the dining room (stacking chairs on top of tables, packing away condiments, etc.) with about an hour left before closing and while there were still several customers still seated and eating. To his credit, the manager did notice and stop this, but that should give you insight as to the attitude of the staff working at this location. If youre having a craving for Twisted Root and absolutely must go visit one, just go to the one in Abilene instead. Its much newer, cleaner, and with better quality staff. Parking: Free limited onsite parking is available as well as free street parking

I expected more. I had it before in Waco it was great! Just here it was meh. The burger I had got was a classic elk burger, for one, buns: untoasted and soggy, the patty probably covered 2/3 of the buns, like actually slider sized. At Waco I had gotten probably 5 onions for my burger less so the case here. Wasnt worth the price at all really honestly just tasted like your average beef patty which is not my usual experience with elk.

A bunch of us came down here for dinner. The place is definitely unique, and the prices are great. The burgers are big, and they do not skimp on the fries. My strawberry milkshake was delicious. Im looking forward to coming back here again. Tries friends sweet potato chips, tasted a bit too much cinnamon or nutmeg, was the only thing I disliked. My burger, fries, and shake were delicious, though. You order when you go in, and then youre given a card with someone famous, and thats how they call you up for when your food is ready.

Great food and service today at Twisted Root. It was the annual Firework show downtown and the place was packed. It was perfect to eat our meal and then go watch the show. Came here because its supposed to be dog friendly but its not. I asked bar tender where dogs are allowed and he said back patio. Twisted Root is always one of our stops when visiting San Angelo. Everyone in the family has their favorite burger and some love their shakes. It is a popular spot especially on the weekends and at times youll have to wait in line for a bit. We usually try to make it an early dinner. During pleasant weather, sitting outside is very nice. Should anyone in your party have hearing issues, please be aware that the background noise is pretty loud and can make it difficult for the hearing impaired.

Y all this place is absolutely filthy. Mold in the toilets, everything is sticky, the floor is dirty, the condiments are gooey. The food was okay-ish, but sitting at our table we could see a cook in the kitchen eating french fries, and could hear the bartender cussing. Also just as a personal annoyance, a sign that s says this restaurant is dedicated to the Lord in the same room as a sign that says running will make you look good naked, but so does tequila is not a good look.

I usually live the burgers but my last trip left little to be desired. I waited 20 min for sweet tea that was removed from counter to refill and then just left behind the counter. I actually had to ask 4 times before someone got me tea. Iordered the freshman 15, the burger was over cooked and dry in my opinion and sadly the egg asked to be overeasy was over hard. My other visits were outstanding so still give them an opportunity the food can be amazing!

My first time to eat in this establishment and will be my last time. The gentleman behind the register with the red shirt that read manager couldnt care less if youre there or not. He didnt greet me and as I greeted him he gave me one hell of a look. During the ordering process he even decided he was going to take a personal call. There were a number of tables in there that were filthy. Filthy as in dried ketchup that has been on top of the table for who knows how long. The young lady giving out the order names was next to impossible to understand at times. The employee dragging the two trash cans from one side of the establishment to the other was obnoxious. Let me emphasize, he was dragging two big trash cans that were full ,did this three different time. DRAGGGGGGGING OMG pick them up or use a dolly. Now comes the time to try our two burgers and fries. Both hamburgers were nasty, it was the meat itself that had a borderline rancid flavor to it. I was worried if I took another bite I may possibly get sick from eating it. The fries were great! To sum it up I personally feel that the staff and the cooks all take cue from the manager, who couldnt care less!

We ordered 2 burgers, 2 sides, 2 drinks, and a milkshake that came to about $40. I ordered my burger a medium and got it well done. It was dry and dense. I sent it back, and the cook was kind enough to re do it. Other than the burger, the parking is small and difficult because if there is no parking, you have to reverse to exit the parking area. The menus are dirty and water damaged. They were hard to read. The cup caps were swimming in water, for some reason. The straws are dumped in a large bucket with no individual wrapping, so every hand that goes in there is going to touch another straw, or 4. The pickle bar is dirty with pickles and juices everywhere. The patio tables are dirty with caked on sauces. The indoor seating is just dirty and has not been bussed since we arrived and left, just about 40mins or so. The floors are dirty, you can imagine how dirty because of the condition of the tables. The place hasnt been dusted in a long while. There are cobwebs. The sides were tasty. The shake was good. That is it.

What a fun place! My family enjoyed the restaurant. Being able to pick out a variety of pickles for your food is so much fun and unique. All of the food was good. The vegan burger was tasty and what made us try this restaurant. My kids enjoyed their burgers and chicken. Just be prepared to wait in line to order your food. Took about 25 minutes to get to the register, but it was so worth it.

Good and shakes were incredible!! Pickle bar is great. Only thing was they didnt have enough staff to wipe down tables, but you could see they werent fully staffed, so not holding that against them so much. Again, food, shakes, atmosphere are incredible.

Just what you might like on atmosphere. Not too busy or noisy. Food good. Bathrooms a hoot. 2nd visit a little later in evening--no wait, but much more activity/crowd/noise around 7 pm. Hamburger buns are that slightly doughy soft sweet white bread that I love from West Texas burgers of my youth. Burgers all medium well-to-well done perfect. Sadly, they were out of buffalo! 8(

I had been here before, a few years ago, so I vaguely remembered how it worked. However, when I walked in, there was nobody at the first large counter. I asked the bartender about ordering, and she said she would get someone to come out and get my order (patio). After at least 15 minutes (FAIL #1), I gave up and went inside, where there was now staff at the counter. After I ordered, I was given a unique card (no explanation), which I assumed I would put on my table so they could deliver my order. After 15 more minutes (FAIL #2), a staff person came and asked if I had that card. Apparently, my order had been sitting inside the whole time. Overall, I cant remember the last time I have gotten such poor customer service. I am giving a two-star instead one one-star because the burger was good.

Atmosphere isn t bad for typical grab and go service. I think it s charming how they use celebrities to call out orders, although it can be very hard to hear when it s loud. I got the chicken sandwich, which was probably not the best choice for it being a burger joint. The chicken sandwich was good, but not worth the $9-$11 price tag. The fried green beans are pretty good, and the fries being only $2 are worth it to get to dip into the milkshakes.

Wanted to try a local burger spot while in the area and saw this place, had good reviews and whatnot, came here early afternoon and walled right in with no line, cool atmosphere with lots of stuff to look at like the big traffic light. Forgot to take a picture of the menu but others have it posted here, lots of options for sure. I opted to get the Kevin Bacon burger with a wagyu patty and 2 sides of ranch with fries and a drink. The total came to just under 20$ which to me was a bit expensive for what it was but not a deal breaker as I got the upgraded wagyu patty and sides of ranch. However was kinda disappointed with it, burger was fairly thin and doubtful being 8oz it was stated and the extra bits all I got one was faded small peice of of lettuce and like a silver dollar size of onions, like laughably small amount of onions which was sad. See pictures. The burger itself did taste good but was small portions and the one leaf of lettuce and minuscule amount of onions which was probly the cheapest part of the entire burger was a dispointment. The non sweetened tea I got wasnt bad though and the fries were generous portions with the ranch on the side definitely being better than normal ranch you often get elsewhere. Still though with the small portions on the burger with it all being nearly 20$ was disappointing and left me wanting to eat more. Maybe I came at a slow time or something Im sure its a fun place a little later in the evening with the bar area but in the middle of the day just wasnt the best experience.
