Two words, delicious coffee!! Love the decor and relaxing vibe of the place. Met the owner, Jake, who made prepared my hot coffee. He asked me what I wanted, but with so many choices, I was lost. Hake asked me what I liked in a coffee, which was a strong taste of coffee with a hint of sweet. He surprised me with a Pumpkin Spice latte, with espresso shots. It was perfect. Was told the syrup flavor was made in-house. Also, I chatted up with some regulars, all enjoyable to talk to. Will definitely be back to try some food and get me another pumpkin spice!! Great service!

I am a world traveler this was unexpected quality, service and environment for San Angelo definitely coming back when here! Parking: Street side parking Kid-friendliness: Pleasant atmosphere with lounge couches and round tables safe for kids, but like all coffee shops should be mannered children to not ruin the environment for adults relaxing with coffee. Wheelchair accessibility: Short curb, level access.

Simply fantastic in every way! The best avocado toast Ive ever had. Also highly recommend the croissant with Nutella and fresh strawberries. Epic chai, original House recipe. Fast and friendly service - the manager, Chase, is great at making suggestions if you dont know what you want. You can order online if youre in a rush. Pet friendly and good music all in a cozy atmosphere. Dont miss this hidden downtown gem. Vegetarian options: All drinks can be made vegan

Well, I have to say was very excited to try this place. We visited for the weekend and was trying different places of course. Hands down the food was amazing. From the freshness to just everything went well with each other. The coffee there are many to choose from so I would look online also they do have special seasonal coffee on a blackboard inside. But if in the area highly recommend the bagel with the salmon if you like that will truly enjoy it here and the avocado bagel man I wanted to take it from my wife it was very delicious.

My favorite coffee shop in San Angelo. They make the best coffee, using the best brand!!! (Onyx). Tastes the best in town! Also pizza bagel is fire, along with their breakfast sandwich (my fav) and all their other food! I m here at least twice a week! Owner is very kind and speaks to customers as if they are friends, and he remembers his locals. Great environment, cool coffee vibes. Great place to study or have meetings or just chill. AWESOME coffee, Breve Latte with Xtra shot is perfection. Staff & service is exceptional. Drive my wheelchair from Shannon to get great coffee in a cafe that is actually wheelchair friendly. Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of room to navigate and eat with a power chair. Staff is very accommodating.

I loved the vibe of this place! And how quick service is when you ask to get something to go, it s a great spot if you re picking up a coffee before work. Now, just don t get the matcha. Mine was the worse matcha I have ever tasted. If you are a matcha person, you know that if you don t know how to make matcha, you can definitely taste that way to heavy handed on the matcha, it was so GRIDDY. When I opened the cup, I can see all the matcha sitting at the bottom. I was basically drinking sand. That s my only bad thing to say about this place: they just need to improve their matcha hand! I also had a bagel with cream cheese and that was super yummy! Parking: I just wish there was maybe 1 pick up spot. Sometimes you ll have to park 4 stores down because the coffee shop is so packed. (Parking 4 spots down is annoying when you re picking up a coffee for work and you re in a hurry!)

Vegetarian options: Lox bagels are my favorite but there s plenty more vegetarian options to choose from if that s not your style. Dietary restrictions: They will work with you as well as they can. My son stated, I think this is the best bagel Ive ever had. He had the tomato and avocado, which came with egg and everything seasoning. He has it on a jalapeno cheddar bagel I believe. I had Honey and Oats, on a French toast bagel. Both wonderful depending on if you want something sweet and something savory. Vegetarian options: Lots of smoothies and teas available. Kid-friendliness: Not Young kids unless youre grabbing to go. Lots of people working on their laptops working and not a loud atmosphere.

I havent been here in a while and today I was reminded why. I ordered a lox bagel. I made the mistake of not checking my order before I got home. If I had I would have refused the order because this is not the same lox bagel I used to get here. I sent a message with a photo of my order via Facebook messenger. I was told that they decided to change the recipe. I was offered a refund, which I gladly accepted. But I was also sent a picture of the menu that lists the ingredients and told the photo you sent looks like everything the menu lists. Did I make the mistake of not paying attention to the menu? Clearly. But that comment was very unprofessional and unnecessary. I would have been willing to return to this business had that comment not been made. But I will wait for my refund and will not be coming back.

The Grind Coffee and Café was an absolute delight to discover on my trip to San Angelo. I ve been there every day this week, and the coffee has been perfect every day. I also love that they make their own syrups. I did not have a chance to eat breakfast, but the food looked and smelled absolutely delicious. The vibes are great, plenty of comfortable places to sit. I loved the older building and the way they exposed the original brick inside. The staff are so pleasant and the service was exceptional!

Today was absolute chaos and all my wife and I wanted was a 2 vanilla lattes. We saw this place was just off the loop and thought we d try our luck. Turned out pretty lucky! There was a street parking spot in front and no line, but signs the holiday rush had just cleared for now. Smelled great, looks up to date in style which is a welcome change, the coffee shop atmosphere we were looking for. Quick order, made fast, met the owner and had the chance to talk bean roasting, before the masses started moving in. The lure of fresh coffee must have tipped them off. Perfect cup of coffee for a day like today! Made it better that we went over to the park and took a walk and had coffee since the park was so close. I see why it gets packed, coffee is soooo good. I know where I ll be sent for coffee runs from the wife from now on! Thanks Mr. Gilson for talking roasts with us!

With a new owner this local coffee shop has revived its place on the top of San Angelos espresso highlights. Service was friendly and fast, food (coffee cake) was light and perfect for the morning, and the coffee was balanced with a light body. *old review*;Beware the this is not fast food sign. Minus 3 stars for taking literally 1 hour from order time to deliver a single breakfast sandwich. Up 2 stars for the espresso because it was delicious, but hour long wait times for food isnt even normal restaurant speeds. The place was slightly busier, but after 30 minutes there were only 3 tables occupied. We had visited one time before and the wait was only 15 minutes and they forgot one of our items (place was empty at the time). Overall, not a great first nor second impression, so expect to spend at least 15 to 30 minutes for any drinks and upwards of 1 hour for food.

Stopped in to The Grind today for a caffeine fix. I m partial to hot Chai Lattes but I am always a little hesitant to try a Chai at a place I ve never visited because I have had both good and bad experiences. The Grind makes their Chai in house, and they offer a Dirty Chai (dirty = shot of espresso). I have to say that it is the most delicious and unique Chai Latte I have ever had! It is sweet but has a pronounced undertone of one of the spices that I can t quite put my finger on maybe cardamom? The service was wonderful, which is something I am partial to. Cheerful employees make or break an experience for me. I highly recommend The Grind. It s conveniently located just a block off of the North Loop on Chadbourne. Definitely give it a shot if you haven t already!

(2.5) Do not get food from this establishment unless it s prepackaged. I ve tried to give this place a chance again and again with its food but it is always a disappointment. The other day I ordered avocado toast and was given clearly a bad avocado. You can tell that it was bad by the way it smelled, looked and tasted. You absolutely know that an avocado is unbeatable when you cut into it and it not only smells bad but the texture is extremely mushy consistency and the outer layer is electric lime green (putter layer should be darker than the inner layer). I attached a photo of a healthy avocado I had at home for comparison. I ve eaten their chia bowls, bagels, toasts, fresh fruit bowls etc and all are extremely bland but look presentable. With that being said, it is just the food that is loathsome, the cafe itself is cute, well decorated and the workers can be somewhat friendly. The coffee is great, I ve never been disappointed in any coffee they ve made as it s one of my favorite places to get coffee but just not food!

This place is a modern coffee shop with a good atmosphere. Seating is plentiful and the space is open and appealing. This is a great spot to sit for a quick bite or sip a coffee. The coffee and food is priced about average for the area. I got a plain latte and bagel with cream cheese, both of which were good. We have come to this coffee shop many times since it originally opened. We were happy to hear ownership had changed and were hoping for a better experience. I know they just reopened and while the food and coffee are great, the service is still lacking. We placed a mobile order once we arrived, knowing we would need to wait since we waited to place it once we arrived. I notified one of the employees that I had placed it and we would be waiting for it. I placed the order at 9:39am and didn t receive the food until 10:11am. It was just 2 food items and 1 drink. I even had to go back up to ask for it because they set it in the fridge. They also made our coffee iced instead of hot so we had to wait another 5 minutes for them to make it. They have a sign stating that they are not a fast food restaurant and that you will wait longer which is understood but there are many sit down restaurants that are faster than this. It seems to just be a mentality that speed is not important. I want the best for this place and am not doing this just to complain. I hope they can use this feedback to improve because their product is great, the service just needs to match.

It s a nice shop but I m giving a one star because I ordered online which is a 30 minute wait by itself, I go in to pick it up after the 30 minutes and I got to the counter and no one is there, the one worker who is working asks if I had an order online I say yes, and she goes that order just hit my phone so being understanding I say okay And just wait I didn t know she was going to continue cleaning and mopping before she started on my order in total I waited an extra 30 minutes and on top of it, they didn t have the drink I order and they gave me the wrong sandwich

Ive been in a couple of times. The service is awful. The girls behind the counter dont smile, barely acknowledge your presence and dont interact with you at all while youre ordering/paying. I always tip but it really rubs me the wrong way to when you get the cold shoulder from a place thats supposed to be uplifting like a coffee shop. The owner needs to hire some friendly staff. Im currently not drinking coffee so both times Ive gotten a smoothie and a bagel. The smoothies arent great... they lack flavor and are overpriced for such an underwhelming drink. However, the bagels are very good. Unfortunately, I dont know if the bagels alone are enough to keep me coming back after the way the service has been.

I love this place I really do when it comes to the food and coffee, it is soooo good! but I had an awful experience today.. the cashier seemed impatient and kinda rude while me and my mother were ordering our food and coffee. For two meat and cheese bagels and a waffle we waited OVER an HOUR. We got our coffees early which was good but we literally finished them and the ice melted before our food came out. I understand y all now have a sign that says we are not a fast food restaurant but regular restaurants wouldn t of took that long. I could of gone to a restaurant and got and entree with sides and got my food quicker. Usually I understand it does take a while but today was the worst I ve ever experienced. I m sorry I know that comes off as rude but I noticed there is different staff every-time I come in and I feel like it was just bad team work within the staff. First of all, I am very picky about coffee. I roast and grind my own. This is the best cup of coffee that I have had in years. Great aroma, body and taste. My wife had a mocha and it was among the best we have had. We enjoyed our bagel sandwich, the meat and cheese and the loaded BLT. The bagels are gererous and well baked. We also had two of their bowls comprised of fresh fruit, granola and yogurt. Delicious! This place is well worth the visit.

Really cool coffee shop/breakfast place to go and eat on a Saturday or Sunday. The candy bar coffees are some of my familys favorites and I always lover their fruit smoothies. The bagels are great, but waffle lovers should definitely get their waffle with all the fixings. They always use in season fresh fruit to top waffles, which makes them amazingly delicious. If they happen to still have it up, try to stop by to see the Hogwarts Halloween decorations, they are stupendous!

Stopped by this place today for the first time. Nice and clean coffee shop. The barista was super helpful and patient with me while I figured out what I wanted. I ordered a hot latte and a cold brew. Both were delicious. There were several different sitting areas and tables to sit at. I recommend this place and will definitely be back!

This morning we stopped by The Grind Brew and Café for some breakfast and coffee for our coffee talk with them and it was so delicious! Wow! We really enjoyed our breakfast at The Grind Brew & Cafe! I got the Rise and Shine with a french toast bagel (bagel covered in cream cheese, berries, and drizzled in maple syrup) and bottomless coffee. While very sweet the Rise and Shine was actually balanced pretty well between the flavors! My wife got the weekend waffles and they offered to put the toppings on the side so our daughter could pick and choose what she wanted on her pieces. She also got an iced coffee. Everything was fresh and very tasty. You should definitely go. Right now.

I come home to San Angelo to visit family every couple of months and was pleasantly surprised to find this place! This is a shop I would expect to see where I live in San Antonio not a small city like Angelo. It is a very comfy place with very nice staff and INCREDIBLE BAGELS! We all very much enjoyed both our food and coffee. The coffee is strong and delicious, I try to avoid going to that terrible milkshake shop with the star and the mermaid if I can. It is super comfortable and modern inside. You can just chill, enjoy some coffee, and hangout, which is what we did for over an hour. The only con I can really name is the quality and quantity of bacon on their bagels is a bit subpar. The could have left bacon off of my loaded BLT bagel and I wouldnt have noticed. More B in my BLT pls and maybe some bacon with more flavor. It tastes like the microwave bacon you get in a box. I recommend HEB apple wood lol. Other than that this place is fantastic!

i love the vibe here the friendly customer service, the Weeknd & Bruno heavy playlist, all of the beverage options. this was a perfect little spot i accidentally ran into yet spent hours at on this rainy saturday morning. yep, reminds me of home (Austin). the only critique i have is to ease up on the cream cheese on the bagels: cheese cheese shouldn t be caked on, but merely an accent to the pastry (or perhaps ask customers the level of cheese they d like light, mid or heavy). also, a $10 bagel with lox should be kindly presented on the plate open-faced perhaps? just a suggestion. other than that, i loved it here! good vibes all around!

Whoa. I did not expect to love a place from a quick pit stop, but if I make it through San Angelo again, Im going back. Their homemade pumpkin latte was something truly special and my husband ordered something delicious too (forgot what it was at this point, except that we were both equally pleased with our purchase). This is a very solid coffee shop. The coffee drinks are well-made, the prices are reasonable, and you can stay and study for a bit. Although a small thing, the food selection is limited. They have a hot pizza-type option, but not all that much more. The snacks are also limited. I end up typically just buying a drink. I still highly recommend it as a good coffee shop.

My drink was the dirty chai but it wasn t my favorite because it was pretty watery. I would recommend they change the chai mix to big train chai which a cafe I used to work at used and it was delicious. I would not order the chai. I mean this will all kindness. I really hoped this would be a healthy local coffee shop like Austin or in the EU. I feel very frustrated that I cannot support local business as I hoped to. For those who go for healthy and organic ingredients, beware of what they are actually using. Their menu does not match what they actually use. I spoke with the manager, but she told me that they had to stop using many organic ingredients because of the cost. While I deeply understand this struggle, especially with COVID, they still are legally obligated to be transparent about what ingredients are being used for the safety and trust of their customers. The manager told me they were in the process of getting new menus, but it has been at least two months that they have been using different ingredients than those that are stated on their menu. I sincerely hope they return to using quality, non-gmo, organic ingredients. However, I understand the lack of demand in San Angelo for organic quality food. At the very least, I hope The Grind will do the honorable thing and be transparent with their customers. With everything going on in the world, what we need now is more honesty. More transparency even if it s disappointing. I sincerely hope The Grind can become a leader in this movement towards a transparency, especially in business. If you go, please verify all ingredients visually before you place an order if you have an allergy or intolerance. Stay safe out there!

I came in around 1pm to order a drink and lounge. I ordered a cold brew with brown sugar syrup, it was pretty good. The entire transaction took about 5 minutes from talking to having the drink in my hand. The location is pretty and the atmosphere is your typical coffee shop. It was fairly clean and I have no complaints. I would ve ordered an açaí bowl but for 9$, It s a hard pass. 4/5 I will return. It s nice to have something new in town.
