After living in South East Asia for several years and eating their cuisine daily, for what should be obvious reasons, I can say with confidence the people in the kitchen know how to make it taste as close to authentic as possible. To make it even better the wait staff is also excellent. I have gone when they were busy and when it was slow and the service is always fantastic. I have yet to finish my drink before they offered a refill and I tend to drink fast. The Massaman Curry and Tom Kha Gai are two of my favorites while my daughter, who is eight years old, is hooked on the Combination Pho. I order the large in the hopes that I can have some for later but she somehow finishes it more often than not. Kid-friendliness: The staff has been very kind to my daughter. When I am checking out they have given her quarters to use in the gumball machine and that type of kindness is something you do not get everywhere. They interact with her and treat her and I am honestly grateful, as a single father, when the female waitress is kind to her in this way since it sets an excellent example of how to behave when socializing.

Though I havent eaten here myself I often recieve orders here. The food is for sure good because I often get orders from the same customers! Customer service is good and friendly many of them there are working hard to make sure food is out to match the door dash timer! Love coming here cause I know itll be smooth almost everytime

This restaurant serves Thai food. Ambiance not great, good location, cleanliness average, service could improve a bit but the food makes you come back over and over. Servings are not so big to overindulge but enough to feel satisfied . Prices are average. Not cheap but not to expensive . Drunken noodles my husbands favorite. Sushi is also good. Fresh.

I was just told that its always a problem with my dish when the kitchen always gets my dish wrong. Its not my fault the kitchen cant get my dish correct. I usually alter my dish because I am vegetarian, maybe it is somewhat confusing for thr kitchen? I come here faithfully for the pad thai and I dont appreciate that it was assumed as if I am a problem or am lying about my order being wrong. They were literally about to forget my tofu If I hadnt reminded cashier but now its a stretch that they forgot to add peanuts?

I moved away from San Angelo 2 months ago and not a day has gone by that I haven t thought about the Pad Thai at Basil in San Angelo!! HIGHLY recommend! By far the best Pad Thai I have ever had! Became my weekly out-to-eat place! The staff are always so kind and welcoming! I have tried many of their other dishes and have never been disappointed! 10/10 recommend if you re looking for good food and good portions!

Attended for supper with my partner for our first time. She had the yellow curry with steamed rice which she loved and tasted divine. She mentioned the potatoes could have more seasoning. I had the beef brisket pho with all the toppings. No cilantro as it was not offered and there was no sriracha either. As a pho connoisseur, the broth was not up to par and lacking the flavor. I did not appreciate the flavor at all and could not finish the pho. The service was wonderful and the pricing is very reasonable. Also- they do have filtered water.

Our book club met for our end of year celebration and the service was delightful. Non intrusive, prompt and the food was delicious! Hot was hot and cold was cold. Very pleasant experience. Vegetarian options: The shrimp and vegetable tempura is wonderful! The shrimp is NOT overcooked and the tempura is light as air. The crab rangoon is the best in town in my opinion.

When they get busy, they kinda lose the quick service they normally have (understandably) but otherwise the food is great, the service is wonderful and the ambience is pleasant. Better than I expected actually. From the front (knickerbocker) this place looks like a hole in the wall (the old and basic signage doesnt help). The place was EMPTY on a Thursday evening which is rare in this town so I was a little concerned. However, the food was amazing (combination pho and pineapple fried rice) and the service was good. The menu is pretty intimidating; 5 or 6 pages of it, and much of that is entrees. We will be back.

Upon pulling up to the restaurant, we were greeted with a strong smell of cigarette smoke. Stepping inside the restaurant, we were greeted with an unpleasant smell as if the restrooms were right by the front door. It was already late or we wouldnt have continued this new restaurant exploration. Besides, sometimes these things happen and the food can still be good (as per the reviews of many patrons). The restaurant itself seemed clean. Sometimes you run into a sticky table/chair situation but that wasnt the case here. So we decide to still give it a try. The food was quick (there was no one else in the establishment). BUT this is where it fell apart. Once we got home, we realized that one of the sauces had leaked out into the bag and had covered everything in sticky brown teriyaki sauce. THANKFULLY, none of the bags had holes or that would have been an unpleasant and messy situation. For both meals, very little meat was included. You would have thought we ordered vegetarian. The taste for one of the meals was good but ended up giving me a headache that lasted until I fell asleep. And the other meal did not live up to expectations. Overall, we wouldnt try this restaurant again because its not worth the price, the smell, or the possible sauce leak.

I got my food delivered, and it was delicious. I got the soft shell crab roll and even though I got it delivered in a white plastic box, it was still amazing. Great job at taking away the craving!

This place is delicious, and I routinely went here during my time living in San Angelo. Best Thai and Asian restaurant in town hands down. Don t expect fancy dining, but friendly staff and family owned. Portions in the to go boxes are generous. Drunken noodles and pad Thai were my favorites. At first I was skeptical because I really enjoyed the Indian cuisine that was served by the previous owners of the restaurant, it was upsetting to know they closed and I wasnt sure if this new restaurant will be as awesome as its predecessor. However, since the first time I visited Basil I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty the food was. I have visited it now three times and it has not disappointed me even once. Their appetizers are the best though, I specially like the pork egg rolls and their crab Rangoon, plus the California rolls are delicious and cheap! Their drinks are also great. I especially like their bubble tea and smoothies. Their service was great and the server was always nice and attentive, they checked on me and my friends for anything we needed often and was an overall a good experience. 10/10 would go again.

Food was sloppy and staff were rude. We got a pad thai and drunken noodles. The pad thai was too sweet and drunken noodles tasted like pure salt. We didnt want to make a big deal so decided to mix them together to balance the taste and asked them to reheat it for us which they refused. The manager shortly arrived and was so rude to us, asking us: why would you mix them? Its your fault then...I dont know where you ate it before but thats how we make it here in OUR restaurant... okay youre all set Then walked straight away. No need for the attitude at all. Im from SE Asia and the food wasnt even close, embarrassing for them to call themselves a SE Asian restaurant

Neat and spacious restaurant and very comfy. Waitress was very nice and friendly. Food was good. Spicey hot is truly hot so be sure you can take it when you order.
