2.5 stars This seems to be a place that is family owned and operated, and I m sure they are very proud of their restaurant and product. Looks like they have a good following, and loyal customers. They seem like nice people. As far as my review, it really depends on where your bar is set for barbecue. My bar is set pretty high, so I ll try to be reasonable. it just may be the best barbecue location in Rowlett. I am aware of another spot down the road across the lake, but it looks to be more of a home cooking/barbecue place. I haven t been there yet either. I was very clear when I asked for my brisket on what I wanted. Very specifically asked for lean brisket, cut from the end of the flat anyone who cuts meat for a living knows exactly what I m saying. Yet, that s not what I got. It was Liane, but not , the same. The smoke ring was very minimal. The ribs I thought were pretty great. The sausage was very middle of the road. Mac & cheese was very runny and had very little flavor. The beans were actually really good as well. You have to buy drinks by the bottle, which I m not a fan of since there are no refill options. The place was super quiet, mainly because I was the only one there until another lady walked in. If you re in Rowlett, you want barbecue, I would probably recommend this over Dickies. They have established, set hours of operation. However, I tried to have lunch here on Tuesday, but they were closed. Possibly because it was the day after Labor Day and they wanted another day off. I decided to visit on Labor Day for the first time and I really enjoyed everything The bbq was amazing and tender. We had brisket, turkey, ribs, macaroni and cheese, charro beans, potato salad. We will keep this as a #1 BBQ place we can visit. Lico s is excellent and has my highest recommendation. It s a shame that Lico s does not have great curb appeal because I suspect that affects their foot traffic. It s a very good BBQ place. I mean very good Ate there today with a friend and had brisket (perfectly smoked and juicy), fries (excellent and tasty) and a stuffed baked potato (HUGE and the potato was perfectly baked). This is a very good place with mediocre curb appeal. The owner and staff are nice as well. I encourage you to forget about how it looks from the parking lot and give Lico s a try. You will be impressed. I m confident of that. Enjoy.

My first time having Licos today. I got chopped brisket, sausage, and ribs and the flavor is amazing. The BBQ sauce has the right balance of sweet and spice. Service was great and the prices are fair and on par for BBQ. I highly recommend and I will certainly be a return customer.

Went here to get dinner. Waited there for 5 min as the cashier talked to what seemed to be a regular. The little man came and cut meat just for the regular and left. The regular moved out of the way for us to come to the register and the cashier refused to address us or make eye contact. We were the only other people in this establishment. We walked out, it s not good customer service to not acknowledge patrons.

The owner runs the meat counter. He really takes pride in his cooking. He smokes marbled and lean brisket with an unbelievable black bark seasond fub finish, outstanding vlavor. The pulled pork is great as well very juicy. Im gettin ready to taste his turkey and okra tomorrow as well at a get together. Ill keep ya posted. Seriously, really good BBQ. Oh, the sauce is very good as well, his own mixture. Clean and better.priced than most established BBQ places. You can eat.there and they have lunch specials on certain days of the week but mostly a great take-out place.

Nice portion size of meat, sides pretty standard. Brisket had nice smoke ring but a bit on the dry side. Not as tender as one would expect, and sliced VERY thin. Sauce was thick and overly sweet totally overwhelming the flavor of the meat. OK for a neighborhood bbq place but lackluster when compared to the many good bbq places around.

Today, my husband and I wanted to have barbecue. It is a Tuesday. For some reason, two of the bbq joints in and around Rockwall are not open. So, that all worked out to our advantage. We searched in Rowlett and happened upon Lico s Barbecue. What a delicious, delightful find!!! If you want fork-tender prime brisket, wonderful sides, tasty rolls, friendly and polite staff, go to Lico s. Wish we could give more stars for the food, it is that YUMMY!!!!!

Licos was reccomended by a fellow member of the community and it did not disappoint. The ribs were cooked divinely to the point the meat slid off the bone. The Mac and cheese was perfect as well. They are friendly, I asked Mr. Lico, who taught you how to bbq? ? He laughed. Those ribs were good, portion good, fried okra was good too. Finally! After residing in the Rowlett/Wylie area for about 8 months, weve found a delicious, local BBQ spot. The food was so delicious that I completely spaced and forgot to take some pictures and just focused on chowing down. For protein, Id highly recommend ribs and jalapeño sausage. We also tried some lean brisket and turkey, which were delicious and moist in all the right ways. The bbq sauce was wonderful, but you dont need it because each meats flavor profiles and tender juiciness were on point. For sides, we loved the coleslaw - just your traditional, no-frills coleslaw that did not disappoint, beans - both regular and charro (DOUBLE YUM), mac & cheese - which had a bit of a sweeter taste to it than I preferred but the sauce was very rich/had the right viscosity, and fried okra - which, youd be shocked, but some folks still manage to mess up fried okra. But not Licos. Everything delivered major satisfactory units. We cant wait to support this local, family-owned business again and try more menu items! Definitely most interested in some of their lunch plates & specials for the next visit. So thrilled to have found a wonderful BBQ join nearby.

Let s start with the customer service 5 stars. Friendly, professional, but not stuffy. The food was delicious. We had the Turkey, sausage and brisket. All of the meats were tender, moist and not overly seasoned. Smoked to perfection without being over bearing. The green beans and corn were seasoned to perfection. The Mac n Cheese some of the best I ve ever had. Then the banana pudding and peach cobbler were the perfect finish to our meal. We will be back! The price? Fair and money well spent.

I m almost hesitant to make this post because it might get so busy I won t be able to eat in! Lico s BBQ - 10/10. I am ashamed to say I have been neglecting this place since it opened because I didn t think it was possible to have great BBQ only minutes away from my home. I was BIG TIME WRONG. I got the chopped brisket sandwich with mac and cheese, and green beans! It wasn t good, it was great! I finished it off with some peach cobbler but I ate it so fast I didn t get a pic. Overall it was an excellent early dinner! Typically BBQ spots are not very good on off-peak times (after lunch, and before dinner) - I came by around 4:15PM and I was not disappointed at all! Run over to Lico s BBQ off of Hwy 66 just before Rowlett Rd. In the Rowlett shopping center. Also as a disclaimer, like any other good BBQ joint - items will be sold out so do not get upset if and when that happens.

Finally tried out Licos. Wish we had come here sooner. Grabbed take out and the food was delicious. We got a three meat plate and everything was very good. The meat has a great smoky flavor to it and the sauce is really tasty. I never like fries when we do take out, but I had a bunch of their fries, they are seasoned so well! My daughter and I tried this place out yesterday. It was very good. The brisket was excellent; sides on point. The family (employees) were extremely friendly. We will be back.

I highly recommend trying out Lico s. The ribs were perfectly cooked and so juicy. Just enough bite. The sauce had a slightly sweet flavor, but it was so good. The Mac and cheese was also very well made. I ll definitely be stopping by the next time I m in the area. Only $13.95 for 5 bones and 2 sides!!!

Attempted to get dinner for 2 people, Wednesday 6pm. Walk in, absolutely NO ONE dining ( 1st bad sign ) Cashier, I guess, just sitting. Asked if it was for carryout or dine in. Being our first time, we thought wed dine in. So, after seeing a fabulous loaded baked potato on FB post, I asked for 2 loaded potato. Guy looked in a drawer and said we only have 1. So, your telling me, you advertise on your menu of a featured Loaded Potato but only have 1, at 6. 2nd clue it was time to go elsewhere. Horrible joint that clearly has no clue on restaurant basics. Shut down if your not properly staffing or preparing foods on menu. For a new place its a shame. Wish the German place didnt close.

Today was my first visit to Lico s Bar-B-Que Smokehouse. This is the best BBQ Restaurant we ve had in the city of Rowlett in a long time! Had lunch brisket that I ordered moist. The brisket was tender, but NOT too fatty. Both the sauce and meat had great flavor. The fresh-cut fries and Mac and cheese were really good as well. Fried Okra was just ok. Appeared to be poured from bag into the fryer basket. The Borracho beans were amazing! Staff was really nice. They made sure we enjoyed our meal. We will be back on a regular basis! The prices were good except a 12oz can of soda is $1.5 and a 20oz bottle is $3. You can tell they are new and figuring things out,but the foundation of great smoked meats with good sauce goes a long way with me!

Tried the new Licos BBQ location. Walked in had quite a few customers. The layout is roomy, i remember the previous restaurant that was here. Love the aroma of BBQ in the air, will get better with time. I ordered the stuff baked potato with brisket and toast on the side. The brisket and add-ons were great and the portions were generous also. Only issue I had seems the brisket was a little cool to the taste. Most other places l visit seem to be warmer to hot when served. Still good to have another BBQ choice in Rowlett.

Not impressed - very low amount of brisket on a potato for 12-15 bucks - not much sour cream - the sides looked like they came out of can - not much interaction from cashier-

Friendly owners. Great brisket with good smoke flavor, it is tender and smoky. Hot links arent too spicy but still delicious. Ribs are very meaty and juicy with good level of smoke on them. Charro beans, green beans, and okra are perfect. Mac and cheese is mac and cheese, not bad but not good. Would definitely recommend and will be back soon.

Have never been a big fan of BBQ places but my grandson wanted to try it today. I have to say, it was one of the best lunches I have had in awhile from a restaurant. Had brisket sandwich, charro beans and potato salad. Every bite was very good! Lots of flavor. Very nice customer service. I will be back for sure! Welcome to Rowlett Licos!
