Completely unresponsive by text (their preferred mode of communication) or by phone if you need assistance. Don t expect to receive service after you check in. A shame because the property and rooms are nice. Management response to multiple ignored texts/unanswered calls/un-returned voicemail feedback was a lackluster apology. Couldn t resolve the issues a day or 4 hours later. An obvious pattern given it happened 2 days in a row. We ll try harder doesn t forgive the headaches created.

**Avoid this place at all costs for celebrations!** We came to celebrate my friends 50th birthday, and the ridiculous policies of this bar made it a disaster!! Although this place does not allow reservations, I had called and informed them that a group of 10 ladies will be there. First off, we ordered and paid for our drinks INDIVIDUALLY at the bar--yet they still slapped on a 25% gratuity just because we were a group of 10 ladies. No table service was provided, so what exactly were we tipping for? We even put back the empty glasses back at the bar counter without leaving them on the table for them to clear. And boy, were the bar staff RUDE or what! They kept a grumpy face while serving us our drinks. Not one was friendly and smiling!! And they made the cocktails so light on alcohol that even after 3-4 drinks, none of us had even a slight buzz! Next, we brought a small cake, cut and served it ourselves with our own plates and forks, yet they charged us $40 for that. The nickel-and-diming here is insane. They initially refused to let us sit in the main bar area, wanting to shove us into a lifeless, characterless boardroom that was nothing but blank walls and furniture, completely devoid of atmosphere. But we refused to move. The bar was half-empty the whole time we were there until 10.30 PM!! To top it off, the manager Cole approved us bringing a pair of 50th birthday balloons, but when we arrived, the other manager forced us to move them to a corner of the dull boardroom, despite us saying it was pre-approved. This place is NOT where you want to celebrate anything!!!! Take your money somewhere that will actually appreciate your business. We certainly wont be coming back!

The Ruby is the perfect place to enjoy Austin while also feeling like you have privacy outside the big city. The room we stayed at was the priciest but well worth it. The ability to take a 20 minute drive into Austin was great. The staff were super friendly and more than accommodating. We had some confusion and they cleared it up right away. For older people the preferred communication of texting might seem difficult. But for more complex situations there is always the front desk. As a younger person I loved that the check in process was completed prior to showing up and you could head directly to your room. It made it that much easier. My wife is an interior designer and loved the style of this place. It was perfect for our anniversary trip and we are very likely to return.

Where do I even start?! Talk of a beautiful property that blends in with nature yet right close to downtown. The history of this place is amazing. The rooms provide such a beautiful view of nature and one could spend hours watching the different kinds of birds that grace this spot with their presence and their singing. I lost count of the turtles swimming in the creek seemingly having a time of their lives the thoughtfulness put in every detail of the rooms is a display of how caring the ones are for their guests.. If you want a tranquil and serene experience at a reasonable price coupled with great service from the welcoming and friendly staff, then this is your place. Im definitely going back there soon. Walkability: Its an easy short walk downtown

This place was amazing! Their service was incredible and they accommodated all of our requests. The rooms were really cool and had a great vibe to them. They were super clean and the way the property is laid out made everything super convenient. The location was super cool too since a it s tucked away in a neighborhood just a few blocks from downtown. Almost everything you need is within a 5-10min drive which was nice. Great food spots great coffee all super close! Their restaurant on site was great. The service was friendly and they gave us recommendations. We hung out inside and they had a live guitarist there and we also hung outside on the patio over looking the creek for breakfast and in the evening. The pool was a tad smaller, BUT even with other people in the pool there was still plenty of space without being on top of each other. Even for a holiday it was super quiet! Thank you Clarissa and Mayra for everything this weekend! We will definitely be back!!

My partner and I live in Round Rock and this place has been on our list to try for years. We FINALLY made it for Sunday Brunch on 5.5.24. Sadly, the Flamenco musician was not there on that day, but we didn t regret our choice. The food was fantastic, the cocktails were absolutely delicious, and the service was top notch. Speaking of which, shoutout to our AMAZING mixologist and server, Jacie!!! Her Peachy Keen is my new favorite cocktail. Food and drinks: The food was very well seasoned, the bacon crispy, and the pancakes were melt-in-your-mouth good. The food portions were very filling. We cleaned our plates, but only because it was sooooo good. The drinks were amazing and will bring us back at least quarterly. Since this was our first time, we tried quite the variety, and were pleased with all of them.

Beautiful hotel and helpful staff. The rooms were nice although next to a creek so do expect some ants or spiders in the room. My main complaint is the $150 they charge me for any professional pics anywhere outside my room. It was my wedding day and I wanted to take some professional pics at the bar and maybe the pool (they don t really have a lobby or any other areas for pics). I ended up just taking pics with my iPhone at the bar since I didn t think a few shots there was worth the $150. I understand a fee for people not staying at the hotel, but I booked one of their suite for three nights. Not cheap. I also feel they should disclosed this in advance. I had called several times and mentioned I was staying there the night before my wedding and two more days after and they didn t mention this fee. It s a beautiful hotel but not offering enough to charge.

Our friends kept gushing about The Ruby Hotel, so my husband and I decided to check them out for my birthday. I have never experienced such pleasant and attentive customer service. Myra (I hope I spelled that right) spent a big chunk of her day helping me pick out my room over the phone. Kyle helped us with our bags and gave us some great restaurant recommendations and April helped us with our bags as we left the hotel. They were all so kind, friendly and ready to help. As for the hotel itself, the rooms are trendy and very clean. They even have black makeup towels. The balconies are small, but enough for two people to enjoy the view. The grounds are quiet and well-kept. We liked the Ruby Bar. If you dont have a creek view room, you can go to the bar to enjoy a view of the creek. Some helpful tips: - Get a room with a creek view. Trust me on this. - Check ahead to see if the bar is open. Its also an event center, so it could be closed for an event. If so, theres plenty of bars and restaurants in Round Rock. DoorDash if you dont want to leave. Youll be fine. - Pack light if you get a second floor room because there are no elevators. The first floor rooms are accessible if needed. - Bring a streaming device like a Roku if you want to watch TV in the room. They do not have smart TVs. Better yet, go sit on your balcony and enjoy the view. - Use contactless check-in if you have health concerns or just want to maintain privacy. They are responsive by text or phone. I never had an issue reaching a staff member, but also remember you are not the only guest. We loved our stay and cant wait to go back with our friends!

My wife and I really wanted to love this place. The front desk person was great - really kind and friendly but we had a lot of issues and we only stayed for one night. They are as follows: - the preferred communication method was to text the front desk. We texted them multiple times and they never replied. - The front desk recommended we head over for happy hour and a bite to eat at the restaurant, but it was closed for an event. There was no way to order food or drinks. We planned to stay at the hotel for the entirety of our stay and it was extremely frustrating to know there were no options for even a reduced menu or way to order drinks...or any indication that those amenities would be unavailable during our stay. - The ac kept turning off at night. I noticed late at night and kept having to reset it over and over again. - There was a miscommunication about breakfast being included with a stay. It s not. I gave this feedback to the hotel manager, and they seemed receptive to my feedback, but I would definitely think twice about booking until they iron a few things out.

We booked a stay for one night after a wedding. We got in late after the a wedding and wanted an extra sheet and blanket so we went to call the front desk. There are no phones in the rooms to call front desk, so we walked to the front and they closed the front desk on a Saturday at 11pm. We needed a sheet and blanket because I spilled my water all over it. We text the number posted on their front entrance door because the was the instructions but no response ..so I slept on wet sheets and I was really cold, but honestly don t stay here. You can t reach anyone if you need anything. It s like a hostel experience. And they don t care if you needed anything, you re on your own once you check in Walkability: Close to downtown

Quiet, clean, and nice. My partner and I stayed with our two dogs in the green room overlooking the nearby creek. The room itself was spacious and modern in design. The bed was large and comfortable and the lighting was great. The bathroom was also modern in design and had a great shower that got really hot water. Within the room my only complaint was that the radio did not work and that the curtains leading to the small patio did not have a sheer panel to let some light in and obscure the room. Just know at night if you tried to leave the door open, out in the rural area of Round Rock, there will undoubtedly be some bugs that want to room with you too but this was not a huge problem. Though we did not use all the amenities the nearby bar had a good selection of offerings and the outdoor pool looked inviting. The 24 hour gym is a great feature which looked like it would be able to accommodate an ample workout routine. This hotel is within walking distance (about a ten minute walk) from the downtown which has a lot of entertainment options. Lastly the service was standout. The ability to text the front desk offered a more reserved and still personal option to acquire more towels or utensils. All in all this is a nice place and I would recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

The 3 stars really comes from the food. I specifically went to get the antonellis cheese plate without having to drive to Austin. It is listed as Antonellis on the menu so I expected high quality and diverse cheeses... it came with 3 hard cheeses, one being cheddar lol aint no way this was Antonellis. We checked out pics of the other food and it really didnt look good. We left after one drink to grab some food somewhere else. The young lady attending the bar (11/29 to 11/30) 2023 was very rude to me the whole week I stayed there. I only went there in the mornings for breakfast but she was always in a bad attitude. Not replying when I said good morning or thanks making me feel totally unwelcome. Terrible way to start your day. I dont know if she is like this with all the customers or she was being racist. Either way this is totally unacceptable. Everything else at the hotel was OK. But I will never ever come back. We come form work for training to Round Rock. I am going to make sure nobody else from my company comes back. Horrible experience. I asked the front desk guy to get a phone call from the bar manager to explain the situation. Not a clean hotel. We checked in for a 2 night stay, for a special event, and the first room we got didn t change the sheets between guests (you could find makeup and stains in the bedsheets). They moved us to a different room where later we found a cockroach in the bath and the bedsheets were also torn in there. The hotel is very remotely distant from the city and has not much to do around. We explained what happened to the staff but they said they can t do anything but they ll pass it to management who will be in contact - no one has been in contact. I would not recommend this hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay and will be back for sure if we are ever down here again! Nice relaxing spot before taking a test. Our favorite part by far was waking up and getting to look out our balcony and see cow/cows in the water both mornings! Only complaint that I have is the restaurant/bar. Monday morning 09/02 we went down for breakfast at 10am and were told they had no breakfast although it states breakfast is until 11am. We then decided to stay and have a drink. I got a mimosa that was made amazing and even better was the price of it for the size! Also it was only my boyfriend and I inside at first while a family was sitting outside until they decided to come in. No biggie, until they became very obnoxious and loud to where we couldn t hear each other and had to leave. Also from what we could see, the food option looked limited so after that we made the choice to just eat at other restaurants in Austin/ Round Rock. Also there are no elevators, just stairs. Over all we would both definitely recommend!! Thank you!!

A cool, relaxing room during 3-digit temps is the way to go. Add refreshing drinks and delicious food as icing on the cake to the midcentury style and classy vibe. Customer service was friendly and helpful. The location is just off downtown with easy access to the interstate when we wanted to explore the area. Treat yourself to The Ruby Hotel & Bar.

This is a unique place to stay. It had the vintage vibe. The gym is a little small but cute I love that the rooms look out at the creek but bottom floor is not the place to stay so make sure you book on a top floor. They have water in your mini fridge which is so nice to have when you wake up dying of dehydration. I love that they have dimming lights. The shower was low pressure and the locks and eye hole covers were Janky but other than that I liked this place A lot.

ROOMS - we stayed in Building B201: not the best view of the creek but the most comfortable bedding Ive ever slept in! Some reviews say bad things about the beds, so maybe they hadnt been upgraded? I didnt want to get out of it! Enjoyed the Nespresso machine with stocked coffee pods! The divider btw balconies doesnt allow privacy; plus it is odd if you dont know your neighbors or if they smoke... Like ours did. So were waited for them to go indoors. SERVICE - the bartender was lovely and went out of his way for me while I was at the pool. LOCATION - quiet and serene with lovely nature trees and birds, plus the little creek in back. The outdoor pool was GLORIOUS! We didnt eat at the restaurant on site, but it looked hip and happening. Safety: I felt extremely safe here.

I would like to first say that the staff were friendly and kind, and the place is so lovely. But unfortunately, we requested that our groups 3 rooms be together, which they said they could do, but they were all separate upon arrival. When I asked that this be corrected, I was told they couldnt fix it. Additionally, we wanted to book the meeting room but the food/beverage minimum we were given was over $1000 and out of budget for our small group, so we made alternative dinner plans. After arriving, we saw a sign at the bar that the food/bev minimum was waived for July/August, but this wasnt offered to us. Finally, we were told by the front desk that we werent allowed to take drinks from the bar to the pool. After using the pool, I saw in writing that this was in fact allowed. There was just a lot of incorrect info given that we based decisions on. All of this was disappointing as we were in round rock for a milestone birthday celebration. When I contacted Ruby Hotel about all these mistakes, they didnt respond.

Despite my three star rating, I actually loved this hotel. It s very well done, reasonably priced, and beautiful views! My family had three creek view rooms, but mine was in the A building and by far the best views. Double-bed rooms in the B building get the short end of the stick views-wise. Still not an issue. Shower pressure isn t great, but fine. Beds were far less comfortable than I expected given how thoughtfully done everything is with the interior design. I loved sitting on the balcony listening to the birds and looking at the creek (the balcony is not private if that s a concern for you). My issue and reason for the 3 star review was my experience with the front desk staff at check out. My room was incredibly hot and the thermostat did hardly anything. It was 77° with the thermostat turned down to 64°. When I woke up it had finally cooled down to 73° but was still uncomfortable and annoying considering I had turned it down and had the fan going in the room (I think the fan was my saving grace to get it that much cooler). My family didn t have issues in their rooms. When I checked out I let the front desk staff know by saying I just wanted to let you know the AC in this room isn t working properly, it was very hot and uncomfortable and explained the temperature situation. The guy working didn t even look up just said okay and that was it. Not even an apology or thanks for letting them know. It really soured my otherwise pleasant experience we had there. Ultimately I would probably stay here again but I expected more of the customer service.

I ve stayed here several times over the past few years and love the place. I won t waste time repeating what s been posted in the other reviews ( they re all true btw). The reason for this is to thank Clarissa @ The Ruby. I traveled to Round Rock at the last minute for a difficult family emergency, but to add to the stress the airline lost my luggage for 3 days and when it did arrive the bag and all my clothes inside were soaking wet. Clarissa arranged to have my clothes dried in the hotel laundry. It might sound insignificant but her kindness helped make the worst week of my life a little more bearable. Good people make the world a better place and a little kindness goes a long way, so again I say Thank You.

Let me start the review off by saying this place has a lot of potential. However, it really misses the mark. We stopped by on a Sunday morning for brunch when it wasn t busy. The service was pretty slow, but it seemed like they were training new staff. We decided to cut brunch short and ended up getting charged for another table s meal. They were able to sort everything out, but the experience left a lot to be desired. We re hopeful that the kinks will be ironed out next time we come. (I d recommend not getting the sourdough - it s basically just one slice of bread split in two.)

The hotel history is interesting and my recent visit had a small travel journal you can write to your other guests staying in the room. I took some nice pictures of the birds nesting across the creek. Theres an bird guide in the room too. Only oddity that I really didnt mind is the bathroom fan clicks (solved per the sign to turn on the fan switch. Lol) and my door took a bit of force to close (just double checked before I left to make sure it was correctly closed). Nearby activities: Theres an all ability playground nearby that I took my family too. Walkability: Not really walkable to any other place. Its definitely one you need a car.

Tori and Austin at Bar Ruby provided extraordinary service and their humble and sincere personality go along way. Diana the general manager should learn from her employees. Her customer service is insulting. She doesn t acknowledge guests and I felt as if she looked down at me. She made me feel uncomfortable. Per a couple of other employees, she tends to carry herself with that attitude most of the time. I m just happy the rest of the staff make our day with their spot on guest service. This hotel is a true gem and perfect for a romantic get away. Its the type of place you both want to rave about because its so wonderful but also want to keep secret before it becomes too popular and you can no longer get a room. This two story hotel is located on on the banks of Brushy Creek in downtown Round Rock. Our room had beautiful big windows and a balcony overlooking the creek. The room was nicely decorated with deep green walls and a few decorations which gave the room charm without being cluttered. The bedding was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was large, clean, and apportioned with lush towels. The hand soap and lotion smelled wonderful. The property and grounds are well maintained. The layout of the hotel is akin to a motel with a covered walkway between the rooms. The walkways had pale green salt on them as they can become slick when it is wet or icy and we stayed a few days before a predicted freeze. The hallways were nicely lit and there were strings of lights lighting up the property at night. There is a lovely pool and several areas for outdoor seating that would be wonderful in nice weather. The Ruby Bar located at the center of the property was the perfect place to share a bottle of wine and an intimate late night dinner. Although the menu is small, it had just the perfect thing for our late night dinner and offered a few shareables and dessert. I was pleased that the wine selection wasnt overly priced and was impressed with the Malbec we had and loved their wine glasses. The bar itself was nicely decorated for the holidays, and offered bar, table, and couch seating. The property map shows they also have a patio overlooking the creek. All of the staff we interacted with were amazing including the woman at the front desk when we checked in and the bartender. That said they have a seamless check in process and we could have chosen to check in and out by text and never have had to interact with staff. Although we chose to check in in-person I like knowing that in the future we can do so by text. And we enjoyed our stay so much I imagine there will be a next time.

However, all our food came out at once. The breakfast platter eggs and hash browns were all cold. The omelet was cold as well. The Mediterranean Trio was the best part of our meal. The drinks were good, however, you have to go to the bar to order your food, order another cocktail, or even get a refill on water. Not one single person came by to check on us. The restaurant was not that busy. Even other tables around us kept asking each other if anyone checks on you. It s ALL self service when we went.

The creek is charming with a host of birds and other wildlife that have made their home on the banks - and a little balcony to stop out onto allows for viewing! The bar opens at 7AM and is a great place to chat with others and have your morning coffee/beverage of choice. Kyle at the front desk was especially welcoming and animated, and the bar staff was wonderful too. Please keep up the great work with this place that has so much character and history!
