How disappointing. This place used to be great. First of all: $16.65 for a cole slaw, fried green tomatoes and small fountain drink is absurd! Secondly, the cole slaw was spoiled - bad, bad and old. Third, the fried green tomatoes were tasteless my friend said the same about the burger - had no spices

Pay attention to the bill. They sneak a charge of $1 for a plastic cup so you can get your own water. The cashier specifically tried to hide it, until I asked what the L1 charge was on the receipt. Update:. Look for an L2 charge. No explanation for why but not mentioned at time of payment. Update: Looks like all hidden charges have been removed. This is where my team goes for our standard lunch get togethers!

I am not usually a fan of burger restaurants. I have a soy allergy and it s just a headache to make something work, but I was meeting a group, so I tried anyway. Everyone was extremely kind and the manager even supervised my meal s production to make sure it was made without the allergen present. The food was absolutely amazing, too! The service rocked and it was very nice and clean inside. We all had a great time. Try Chip s they are absolute rockstars! Dietary restrictions: They were extremely understanding and helpful making sure my allergen was not used preparing my meal.

Food was bland and under seasoned. Our fries were stone cold but the manager did replace them promptly so a plus there! We watched one of the bartendera pick up an order after lifted her ballcap and running her fingers through her hair multiple times. She then grabbed the food to deliver to waiting customera at the bar with NO GLOVES! We also watched the Cashier step into the seat and jump over a short wall to go to the Cash Register to help waiting customera who stood waiting to be helped 8 minutes while the Cashier sat gabbing with friends in a nearby seat WONT BE BACK!!!!

The gluten free bun is amazing! Tastes like real bread. Before coming gluten free I d get their normal bun and it s one of my favorite normal buns out there. The burger has never disappointed. The fries are good too. Not sure if they are considered GF or not. The service has always been good too. We ve never waited on our food for long when we ve been. UPDATE Mar 2024: We were not to be denied. Came here on Sunday, St. Paddys Day and the line was out the door from the cash register. So we went to the Union Bear next door. Its now Wed and came back on the gorgeous spring day to enjoy our hamburgers no line at all. Outside patio area is perfect for spring day. Warm and sunny and good fellowship with friends and family. See photos. (We have been here several times since 2021 just didnt do an update.) OCT 2021: Back for weekday lunch of soup and sandwich. I got the grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup. See photo. Very good. Weekday lunch hour was very busy for staff but there was no delay in our order. Most customers call ahead and do take-out. MAY 2021: Great 1st impression even if customers (and staff) still have to wear a mask except sitting at table. Get rid of the masks sooner than later. We beat the crowd that arrived just after us. Fast order and service. The bun was excellent and with sweet potato fries super. Lots of folks eating inside/outside during wonderful weather on Sat.

The Boardwalk is a cool little outdoor area, particularly when the weather is nice. I like how Chips has a patio area for when the temperature is actually mild (which is rare in Texas). We arrived at Chips around 11:30 AM on a Sunday and were third in line. Great timing, as by 12 PM, the line went out the door! The man taking our orders at the register was very friendly and welcoming. The burger itself was just alright it just lacked that extra oomph factor that some other nearby burger restaurants have.

I am really disappointed with the bartender that works at this establishment. Her name Lilya. I have worked as a bartender, and in my three years of experience have I never addressed someone about providing me a tip which is appreciated, but not required. That is very rude and very unprofessional and definitely is not the way that any customer should be treated. So me and two colleagues went to the establishment after work to have a drink and then go home. I ordered a double shot of Jamerson for 17 bucks and my Ordered a mixed drink for about seven dollars. My colleague left her card at home so I paid for her drink and tipped a dollar on the receipt. I did get a double shot of Jamison which was 17 and I did not tip anything. Now I do believe in tipping but honestly I just came out of a lot of money for Christmas and for this one drink that I had I did not tip. This is my second time coming to this establishment that is located near my employment. The first time she served me I did tip her. She proceeds to tell me Because she did not get a tip that she would not be serving me or my colleagues. I did ask her. What is the problem when the receipt does not require any gratuity and I am not ordering multiple drinks. She proceeds to tell me that being a bartender is hard and they don t make much. I proceeded to tell her that I m aware and was a bartender in the past, but in no shape or form Is it OK to harass a customer about a tip or tell them that you re not going to serve them because of it. If that is the case then Lilya should Not be taking any positions at any establishment bartending. A tip is never required, but always appreciated and I can understand someone serving someone multiple times and looking for a tip at the end. but I come in for one drink and you proceeded to be rude. That is very disappointing. I proceeded to speak with the manager who I don t even really know is a manager, and by the way, never got a name I was told that it would be a addressed , but nine times out of 10 it may not.

Different play on a hamburger restaurant and my first time here was a pleasant experience. The burgers were very good for our entire party of 8. The only problem we had was the meat used for the burgers was not that good. They need to use better quality beef for their burgers and then the place would be great. But using cheap hamburger at a hamburger joint is a bad idea. This is it. I have been looking for a Burger Place that I can call home and I think I have found it. My wife, our best friends and I. tried Chips Old Fashioned out for the first time. So, I just got the standard Chips Cheeseburger with Pepper Jack Cheese. The wife got a Tuna Burger with Ahi Tuna. We split an order of Sweet Potato / Fried Onions and that was all either of us could eat. The burgers are served standard with Poppy Seed Buns which I have an affinity for. They have other kinds of buns available by request. The Burger was perfect except for one thing. I like my mustard / mayo / sauce condiment applied to both buns before my hamburger is constructed. Chips puts that on you to apply them. But the Hamburger is not served open faced, so by the time you get it the juices have soaked into the bun and you tear it all up trying to apply the condiments. However, the condiments are on the table if you are willing to go through the effort. If you order take out it is something to be aware of for sure. So, for that reason alone, I give the burger 4.75 stars. Everything else was perfect. The wife said her Tuna Burger was awesome and I can vouch for what a large thick piece of Tuna it was. And the large sweet potato fries and fried onions split, order was perfect for the two of us and they were awesome. Service was good, the place was clean, even sitting outside al fresco it was a good atmosphere. Our Friends had ½ pounder Chip Burgers and they both thought they were great. Chip s you have our loyalty from now on. It is a little hard to find because it is on the inside of a courtyard, if it is foul weather you are going to get wet to get to the front door, but you will not be disappointed. Five stars from My wife and I. Wheelchair accessibility: Be careful of the unmarked ramp going in off the courtyard. There is a drop of about 4 inches to the right if you do not stay on the ramp itself. Pay attention. I fell when my Right leg stepped off the Ramp unexpectedly. I was too busy looking at the place and trying to see where the entrance was to go inside, so watch your step. My fault but easily done.

Just tried Chip s for the first time and the only negative that my wife and I came up with is how much we regretted that we hadn t tried Chip s in the 2.5 years we ve been living in North Texas! Great easygoing laid back environment with a great view of the boardwalk area. Food was very tasty and was cooked to specification. Very nice burger place for lunch. Definitely enjoyed. Kid-friendliness: The place is very relaxed and has a kids menu.

Casual spot to grab a bite and a drink. The hamburger was delicious and the grilled chicken sandwich is truly amazing, sweet potato fries is a must have. You can eat indoors or outdoors, the outdoor seating area is very nice when it s not too hot. I definitely recommend this place!

I usually frequent the Lovers lane location. The burgers here were average and we got a combo fries and shoe string onion rings and there were cold. I ate a double 1/3 lb and my wife had a single. I am still hungry!!!!!! I won t be going back to that location. God awful .,,

The ambiance is great, and the service is more than adequate. The food looked great; however, the burgers were not good enough because they tasted pre-made, and the fries were not hot enough,but the Milkshakes are to die for. I had the caramel salted shake; my granddaughter, their chocolate . With tip, I spent over $100.00 for myself, 4 granddaughters, my daughter, and my son-in-law. I would definitely go back, but insist that my food be .

The food was meh, but there were lots of options. Burgers can be put on lettuce if you are low carb. Cheese fries were one congealed, inedible thing. Apps came out with burgers defeating the purpose. Dont be fooled by What do you want for your side? It comes with the burger. They will still charge $3.50 for a small amount of soggy fries. The kids running it seem undertrained and confused.

Went as a large group. They have plenty of space for group seating inside or outside.. love that this spot is at the Boardwalk at Granite Park. Perfect place to hang out and grab a bite. Their portions sizes are massive - no one was able to finish their burgers! We also tried fish and chips - best Ive had in Texas. Im pleasantly surprised! Highly recommend.

Amazing experience here on 5/29. Had a small crisis while I was here and Matt was there to save the day. Thank you very much Matt, you really made our day. Burgers get quite pricey once you get some good toppings on. Youll need a few fun toppings since the patty isnt flavorful at all. I dont even think they put salt on it. Overall, if you want a burger with a poppy seed bun, go to Jakes. Much better quality.

My wife and I love this place.....its one of our regular places to eat lunch a few times a month. We both love that you can build your own burger/sandwich, or pick one of the standard menu items (of which there are many). There arent many burger places like this anymore. My wife loves the Santa Fe chicken sandwich, and I usually get the burger of the month, but I also have tried the Philly Cheesesteak...yummy. Beer selection is better than most burger places, which is important to us (we are super beer/brewery fans). And the patio/atmosphere is great. I used to work in one of the neighboring buildings...retired now :)

Just had the worst experience here tonight. After waiting in line 30 minutes I waited a hour to never receive food and had to get a refund. After about 40 minutes waiting for food one of the runners came and got our name card for our order but brought it right back which had me confused because I thought order was ready. 2-3 more runners kept passing by or table saying sorry for the wait but never explained why were we waiting when the customers in front of us had their food for over 29 minutes. I then asked for a refund and still waited 10 minutes to get it. Apologies but no food on a long Saturday starving for food. At this point it s late and I m very frustrated. I want be coming back.

First visit to a Chips and this was what I wanted / expected! The ambiance was great, and they did a great job getting the food out hot and fresh despite the lunch rush. Overall the burger was a good, old fashioned hamburger that was loaded with toppings. Id recommend the 1/2 lb burger patty since the toppings seemed the dwarf the 1/3 lb one! The large tots is enough to last for days or feed four. Chicken tenders were amazing though, and the mashed potatoes and gravy were great as well! Parking: The parking garage usually has openings but is in a bit awkward location!
