Easily the best shortstop I ve been to. I go consistently as it s only 10 mins away from my house and they have the absolute best food imo nearby. Melanie C. ALWAYS goes above and beyond in making sure to remember her customers and get them what they prefer. (I use an excessive amount of ketchup ) I will continue coming here often!

This is an astoundingly bad food value. You can pay half as much at Burger King and get better food. The people that work there were nice enough but my hot dog was cold in the middle and my kid got the burger and the Patty is paper thin. I gave them a one because it seems a lot of these reviews are not very genuine... They read like advertisements.

It was at night. About 9:30pm. Give or take a few minutes. Its out door picknick table or take home. You can call ahead, im not sure about online. The burgers n fries are tastey. And satisfying. There is also a great dessert minue. The kind of dairy treats that everyone who loves food will always think about.

Couldnt have been better. We each got a burger combo and everything was freshly made, and absolutely perfect. We went through the drive-thru. The look of the place from the outside is sort of unappealing, but thats not what important. Before this afternoon, I havent had a Short Stop burger in well over 2 decades. They are just as good as I remember them. Our drive thru server, Maria, was so friendly, very nice smile, and looked to be very organized in handling the orders. We went just after noon and were driving off with our food in about 4 minutes from getting there. I dont remember why now that I stopped going. Id remember a bad experience. I think I just started going to Whataburger, which is really hit and miss nowadays, at least this one closeby. Anyway, even though Short Stop is a little far Ill definitely be back soon. Oh, and they are very generous with ketchups, napkins, and salt/pepper packets. They are more expensive than I remember but everything has gone up.

This is literally a drive-thru kiosk; they have a bench or two in front, but it is a drive thru on both sides and is in the middle of a parking lot, kinda like those coffee kiosks. So, just understand that this is the kind of place where you take it home or eat in your car. Now, that doesnt mean it isnt good food. In fact, its the opposite! Since the entire building is smaller than my own kitchen, there is no bulk frozen food or heaps of burgers under heal lamps--theres just no space for it. Meaning you get a fresh, juicy, piping hot burger and very fresh fries! It takes a little longer than, say, a McD drive thru (since they are cooking everything fresh), but by no means an unreasonable amount of time. The burgers are prepared just right; juicy on the inside and just a slight char on the edges with a dash of salt. I highly recommend; this is one of those hidden gems that is easily overlooked and far more amazing than you could ever expect.

10/22/23 around 3:45pm: My husband and I decided to stop by while we were down the street. It had been years since we ve eaten Short Stop (we don t live near one). We stopped by (they weren t busy thankfully), so we decided to eat our food outside instead of eating in our car. The young man who took our order was so polite. Love to see that, especially nowadays!!! They got our order out quickly. We were extremely satisfied with the presentation and the taste. Definitely stopping by again next time we are in the area. Not happy at all with the customer service this afternoon SMH! Whomever is working the drive thru taking orders should be welcoming and friendly and helpful! NOT pushy and rude! If you dont like your job then find another one. Manager needs to train their employees a little better or maybe they need more training themselves. Also the fries were cold. And yes, I could have went back and said something but dont trust re dos when it comes to food. Cannot trust anyone especially when employees have attitudes like they hate their job. What an amazing experience! My husband and I were looking for a late bite and wanted to try Short Stop. We got there a few minutes before close. We felt awful since it looked like they were doing their pre-close tasks. The staff told us this was not a problem and made us fresh burgers and fries. The food was hot and delicious. I politely ordered and waited patiently. The young lady blocked my view as they prepared my order. The manager was agitated as I pulled up. I got home and not only was my order incorrect, but I found a napkin that had been used to clean someones nose at the bottom of the bag. The first batch of fries was dark brown and not even warm. I asked for fresh fries and the second batch was over cooked. I was so distracted I just thrown them away. The apple pie was barely warm you can tell it has been under the warmer for a while. It wasn t freshly cooked. I was very disappointed with the food I received from this location.

Short Stop is a local, assuming, hole in the parking lot kind of drive through. Their red trimmed little building is not very noticeable because its in the corner of the parking lot, behind two large strip center marquees and trees. The food is good, its made fresh, and its relatively quick. Plus theyre open until 11pm, later than other local drive thrus. The combo prices are decent, but they have risen in the last year, so look at the most recent photos of the menu if youre checking it out before you drive over. The burgers are tasty, with some extra options. The pickles, lettuce and tomatoes are fresh and crisp. The chicken fingers and gravy are also decent. They also have all beef hotdogs for a couple of bucks, which while standard are surprisingly tasty. Other menu items that I look forward to trying include the fish and corn dogs. In my mid-age, the food at many fast food joints causes me acid reflux or generally makes me feel bad after eating it. The food here, even though its fried, doesnt bother me. So its on my short list of ok fast food I can eat. Short stop had your typical sodas and sweet tea, but also offers shakes and floats. Chocolate shakes are made with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup. Mine recent ones were thick and not well blended. The vanilla ice cream is fairly standard, and reliable. Other desert items include fried apple pies, dusted with powdered sugar. These pies remind me of the fried pies McDonalds had when I was a kid and they are very tasty. Other notes: Food is prepared fresh, so there can be a wait is there are several cars in line. However, Short Stop has two drive-thrus, one on each side of the building, which helps. If the one closest to the parking lot entrance is backing up, circle around the building to the other drive-thru. Ice cream cones are less than $2. They are not offering ice cream pints at this time, though it is on the menu. The cherry limeade here is not my favorite. Its a mix blended with soda and I find it inconsistent in experience. In a local culture thats obsessed with its margaritas and limeade, I far prefer real juice ades personally. That said, I think its worth trying Short Stops version once, if you havent. I cant think of anyone who offers a similar tasting experience. Perhaps its your style. They offer a 44oz soda that is not on their menu and is just under $3. Short Stops solitary drink prices are steep on their own, and ok if part of a combo. If you just want a soda, youre better off grabbing that somewhere else. The Shell station a block away has 44oz sodas for 86¢, Sonic across the street has half-price drinks during happy hour, and McDonalds around the corner sells any size sodas for $1 and would be your quickest option for just a drink. Over all, Short Stop offers a decent fast food selection that is decent in quality and price. The service is fresh, efficient and polite. They dont offer discounts or coupons, but there are also no gimmicks. Just good, reliable drive-thru food handled old-school, which we dont see much of these days. I rate them 5 stars for overall quality, reliability and positive experiences. Update: While their menu states they have 100% beef hotdogs, it turns out the corn dogs are a mix of pork and other meats. If you are allergic to pork, like me, or dont eat it for dietary or religious reasons, this is important to know.

Good but a Lil pricy EXCEPT for the drinks THE MEDIUM IS AS BIG OR BIGGER THAN A McDonalds large okay to be fair McDonalds IS cheaper because they are so many so yeah 1 for a large aint bad per say BUT 0.50$ would be better

Even on their worst day, Short Stop is better than McDonalds. Today was not their worst day, but it wasnt their best. Im not sure why every location address Austin has different burger patties, but I wish there was more consistency. This locations were tasty & juicy however seem a little smaller than others. Oh well, I guess I would rather have my meat small, juicy, & tasty rather than big, dry, & nasty like you would at other places. The service was friendly and quick and everything was correct & as ordered, so not much to complain about there.
