1st time being able to see a play at Jubilee Theatre and I was allowed in due to me being a few minutes late. Things happen and there should be a grace. The other party said that it was empty and no one there but yet I wasn t allow to go!!!! If you choose this theatre be super early to avoid and mishaps and lateness.

I love the Jubilee Theatre and have been patronizing them for over 25 years. I realize every show will not appeal to all audiences, but I was disappointed in the type and amount of profanity used in The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds Her Chameleon Skin during this very uneven production. It will not stop me from supporting this jewel of the community in the future.

We bought tickets on the phone for a oroduction. They were emailed to me that day. On the day of the performance, I decided to print them in case the internet was not available there. Upon printing them, I realized they were for the wrong date & time. In fact they were for a date that had already passed even before they were ordered. I called the box office & heard an automatic answer that no one worked there on Saturday. We were not going to go all the way downtown not knowing if we would even be able to use our tickets. Several days later I was able to email the marketing director & requested a refund. She said she would call me the following week. I left her my phone number. This was 3 weeks ago. She never contacted me, even after I sent another email.I am very disappointed in the lack of courtesy shown when the fault was with the theatre personnel . This would have been my first time to visit Jubilee. It will be my last.

Love the Play Black Nativity. How ever the hostess came across mean, she did not have a welcoming spirit. She was rude. Put me in a place I don t like. I do under stand the reason for her directions. But could she could have said the same in a nicer way. The seats was a little uncomfortable for the plus size people. Other than this it was an awesome experience.

The show was amazing. The actors are extremely talented. Great customer service at the box office. They dont allow late seating so arrive early. The venue is small and intimate so late arrivals would interrupt the performance. The seats are a bit cramped. Parking is on the street is hit or miss so thats another reason to arrive early. Cant wait to see another performance here

As another reviewer posted, This theater will allow you to book and reserve for specific seats then double book the performances. If for any reason you were late, don t worry someone else has paid to sit at the specific seat you purchased. It makes it difficult to support us with less than professional service.

The shows pack out really quickly so I usually order several weeks in advance. In 2023, Im considering purchasing Season Tickets, since I visit all seasons lately, so if you havent been, treat yourself to a laughing, singing, foot stomping, hand clapping good time.

First, the theatre had a very historic, warm, & inviting ambience immediately upon entering the doors. In addition, the staff was attentive, organized, & hospitable. My husband and I attended the matinee show for Plenty of Time and enjoyed every minute! The wit, the humor, the historical clips, the emotion, & the exploration of cyclical family hurdles, and how to approach them, definitely made the play worth watching! Also, the MUSIC and dialogue were more than fitting for each decade. PLEASE SEND ME THE SOUNDTRACK!!! Lol! To the director, producer, actors, & supporting theatre personnel; OUTSTANDING JOB!!! BRAVO!!! I loved it and I am glad I was able see this beautiful piece of work in person! I hope to return for other shows in the future!

I always enjoy my visits to the Jubilee but I must give my last visit 4 out of 5 stars due to the rude announcer experience in the lobby during intermission the Sunday before Christmas day week. I asked a simply question about future plays and received what I would describe as a truthful yet rude and short response. I wasnt expecting such a short and unfriendly remark but I hope she would decide to be more cordial and friendly next time. Especially if the person is asking about membership and showing interest. Maya Angelou was correct: People will forget what you say but they wont forget how youve made them feel. Manners Matter.
