Kerbey Lane remains 100% family-owned and is a true representation of the food that made Austin unique. I dont know if the queso has ever won an award but from someone born and raised in Austin, you win the Best Queso on Planet Earth. If you dont know what to get, order the Migas with queso sauce and sub the sides for pancakes. Oh, and get the Pumpkin Pancakes when they are in season. Gracias Kerby Lane! :

This is my go-to place for lunch meetings. It s also the place I can bring anyone from out-of-town to give them a taste of Austin/Round Rock. Everyone can find something they like at Kerby Lane. The food is great at Kerbey Lane, however service is a big part of the dining experience. I actually had to get up and leave my table halfway through my meal to find my server to get my drink. She was chatting with someone near the bar. I reminded her that I was waiting for a mimosa. At the end of our meal after the table had been cleared, we waited for the check. And waited. I finally went to look for our server. Once again, she was chatting with people at the end of the bar, holding our check print out and my credit card. This is unacceptable. It seems socializing is a priority and customer service at the bottom of the list. We will not be returning.

This place is outstanding and staff is always very friendly. The orders come out quick and the quality of the food is incredible. The thing I love most about this restaurant is the consistency! It taste great every single time no matter what you order. I am completely hooked on this dish right here (Pan seared salmon w/reg mashed potatoes instead of basil) The salmon portion is huge and cooked to perfection. The mashed potatoes are so creamy and flavorful, and the sweet tangy, tender Brussels sprouts melt in your mouth. A bite of ALL flavors combined together will make you want to slap your mama back to the Stone Age. I ve been here about 12 times now and I can tell you this place will not let you down!

Today I want to give credit where credit is due. Im taking back a bad review I left a couple of years ago after a terrible experience. Today we tried again after a LONG pause and I need to brag on the excellent food, service, and atmosphere we received today. We were greeted warmly and promptly by the hostess, and Andy, our server, was friendly, attentive, and courteous. The food was hot and cooked to perfection. Everything was clean and orderly. In short, theres a new vibe about the place, and its now back on our list of local favorites.

The food is okay as long as the order is taken correctly. Service was really off today on top of a significantly incorrect order for one in our party. Young women seemed like she was new even though she said shed been there a couple of years. Maybe stayed out too late the evening before. There was no offer to comp any part of the incorrect order despite our elderly member having to wait until others were almost finished before receiving her easy straight off the menu order.

Kerby Lane is a must! The nitro cold brew and the Eggs Francisco are my favorite. The seasonal pumpkin pancakes are delicious too! Went for dinner and it was pretty good. We tried the Mediterranean chicken and the chicken fried steak. The cinnamon roll pancake is a must! The patty melt is delicious! Tried the smash burger for the first time and it was delicious. Cooked perfectly and super simple. That bun too!

The food and the service were excellent, it s just the only negative side is the ladies bathroom is dirty, water on the floor which is slippery and you could possibly slip. Where seated close to a table that supposed to seat 6 people but they were 10 people that are all seated and they were all to loud. My husband and around us couldn t hardly hear each other when we are talking to each other. Other than that everything is good.

I m visiting round rock from New Jersey and was looking for a good place to get breakfast in the morning. The word good is an understatement to what this place actually is. This place is outstanding! I had the pleasure of having Andy and Amanda and their hospitality is above and beyond. First day I got pancakes and next day I got French toast. 7/5 Came here today for lunch with family for a birthday. Good was excellent as usual, but we probably had the worst service weve ever had at a restaurant Things that went wrong: Asked for a table for 8, got a table for 5, and had to stand around while they figured out how to fix it Got served our food without ever getting silverware and napkins. We had to ask for them and then one member of our party was handed a stack of forks to pass around! We had to ask for knives and some people had food they couldnt eat without knives and had to wait awhile before the knives came. KL, shouldnt the silverware be wrapped in napkins or something??? Our waiter never came around to see how we were doing and ask if we needed anything. Or empty plates stacked up with no one removing. We had to flag someone down to order a coffee. Never got a refill. Waters didnt get refilled promptly. Had to get up twice to get a check sent over and to get to go boxes. My daughter was offered a birthday pancake and that took forever after wed already been waiting for a waiter to get a check. This time would had been a good time to clear our table and refill water and coffee. We could see the waiter standing around and talking to one table for a long time, like they were his buddies. All in all, the food isnt good enough to put up with this kind of service. Have gone several times to get omelettes with roasted brussel sprouts and spinach for sides. They could punch up the spinach a bit! Its pretty plain! Otherwise delicious and thankful for the flexibility to order vegetable sides and not only the carby breakfast sides. Great meal tonight. PAN SEARED SALMON* (GF) Sustainably raised salmon seared with house spice. Served with tamarind glazed Brussels & basil mashed potatoes. It was so good!!! 5 stars!!! I was super hungry so I ordered a side of sweet potato fries and they were kind of mushy and not super hot so that was a disappointing end to the meal.

Omg so good! I got the chilaques with wueso and an order of 3 different kind of pancakes because I m special ;). I got two cinnamon swirl pancakes (ask for extra topping) and lemon pancakes. They were so good! The balloon animal guy made the kids balloon animals. Those animals loved the mimosas! Kid-friendliness: There is a great playground outside for the kids to enjoy!

The prices are fair and their menu has plenty of options. They serve gluten free bread ($1.50 extra) and gluten free pancakes {$1.50-$2.50 extra), which is always a bonus for me. I ordered the chicken pesto panini on GF bread with fries. The fries seemed like they could have been cooked a bit longer. My husband got Davids enchiladas with cheese which he said tasted good. June 16, 2024 I understand that we came on a Sunday and on Fathers Day but management should have prepared for that. We came in for breakfast and the wait wasnt too bad. Maybe 5 mins before we were seated. Thats the end of the positives. We waited a little over 10 mins without being acknowledged. I had to get up and find a server that was standing and talking with another server by the register. She was very apologetic and took out order. Another 10 or so mins went by before we finally got an Apple juice, a coffee, and a couple waters which was brought to us by our actual server. ANOTHER 10 mins went by before our food came. It was brought to us by, what I believe to be, a manager. The food arrived nearly room temperature. Like, all the food. The same manager walks by and asks us how everything is so we tell her. Again, very apologetic. Asking if we wanted them to make us more food or whatever. We declined as we needed to get going. As our daughter was eating her food we waited for ANYONE to come speak with us and another 15 or so mins ago by and no one stops so I wave down our server. We find out our food had been comped, which I would say was a given. The lack of communication between the staff and management seems to need a lot of work. The food that we tasted was good but I wasnt going to eat cold eggs or anything cold that isnt supposed to be for that matter. My daughter loved the home fries. We ended up spending a little over an hour there. We watched people that had been seated after us come and go. All in all we had high hopes and we were very disappointed in the whole experience. Thank you for apologizing but that doesnt really help anything. I doubt if well be giving them a second chance.

I normally have really great experiences at Kerbey Lane, so take this review with a grain of salt: My most recent visit was a bit on the frustrating side for a couple of reasons. We had a party of 5 and we waited for more than an hour to get seated, which I understand happens - but after that hour plus wait, they ended up just squeezing us into a booth which we all barely fit in at the end anyway. The food came out really fast which is great, but the fries were ice cold which was a bummer. Our server was great however!

To celebrate Easter Sunday, we visited Kerbey Lane Cafe in Round Rock for lunch. Since the location in Round Rock is always busy, we tried the online waiting list feature and it was awesome since we got seated shortly after our arrival. I highly recommend taking advantage of the feature. On this visit I ordered Davids Enchiladas plate and a side order of Strawberry Banana Walnut French Toast, theyre delicious. The food and service have always been excellent and this time was not an exception. For any friends or families visiting from out of town, this is definitely a place to treat them. April 2023 update: Strongly recommend limited time Sunshine Menu and Banana pudding pancake... Yummy beyond believe. November 2023 update: I tried their Kerbey Double burger and it was excellent. The service received was great, too. April 2024 update: We ordered takeout. The process was very simple and the food was ready by the time we got there. Excellent!

There was about a half hour wait which isnt a shock since it was Saturday at noon and a few days before the eclipse. It was our first time visiting this location. There was plenty of parking, seating, and they had a nice playground for the kids. The kerby double burger was really good. Had plenty of cheese and perfectly cooked patties and came with fries. Daves enchiladas were delicious. Came with two chicken enchiladas, savory black beans, and yummy rice. The kids had pancakes and eggs. The pancakes were pretty big and had leftovers for later. The coffee was really good.

So I ordered my food online and in the email it says Call the location when you arrive, and we will bring your order straight to your car I called the location and it said I had to go inside to grab my order?? Why offer that service and then not provide it. And then I ordered a regular chocolate milk and they gave it to me in the smallest cup possible! A 8oz red bull can is bigger than that lol this is not the Kerby Lane I grew up with. This is trash

The chicken was COLD on the greek chicken plate. The poppy seed french toast was more like cake than french toast, and it tasted stale and was obviously reheated. The bacon was reheated as well. We had to ask for coffee refills. It was a terrible experience overall, especially for the outrageous price. $4.00 for a cup of plain black coffee is over the top. We will never return. We have been going to Kerby Lane since 2002, its too bad.

Everytime we come down to Roundrock we try our hardest to get to Kerbeys for breakfast. Everything we have tried has been fantastic! The people are amazing and the cooks are awesome! Please keep doing what youre doing! Love you guys! Its a good place. Be patient. You are gonna wait for a minute. Dont get in a hurry. Relax and love life!

We were seated at a table that did not have enough space for 8 of us + a stroller. For 20 minutes no one checked up on us even though other people were seated afterwards and had their order taken. A server, after passing us multiple times, checked in on us but by that time it was 25 minutes so we left. The experience was disappointing since we are only from Austin and were visiting for the weekend.

Walked in and seated really quickly, until we waited approximately 25mins for an any service. Not a single time did they check up on us. Very disappointed and was hoping to witness all the great reviews. I come to Austin with friends and family all the time and we will definitely cross this place out!

Host sat us down & literally waited a total of 25min while the other server was attending ppl. Server didn t greet my family at all. When I finally told the server we were ready she immediately said I m not your server, I think your server is in the restroom in the restroom for over 25min? I strongly believe she didn t want to serve my family & I. Felt discriminated. Only reason I say this is because other ppl were seated & the same server greeted & started taking their orders. The ONLY server in that specific section. My family & I noticed the discrimination & left. Definitely do not recommend.

We re visiting Austin from Spring Break and wanted to try this cafe. We arrived and waited for 20 minutes. No one checked in with us or acknowledged us. We had to speak up with a server that had come around the section at least 5 times. Our server never came but it seemed like no one was interested in taking our party of 8. We were all very disappointed.

One of the nicest coffee places ever been to in Austin suburbs. Start was not great as we had to figure out the reception and where to sit, but this place lived up to great coffee and food. Would definitely recommend.

This place has changed. The culture was different. It seems management has not prioritized training staff to provide good customer service. Nobody to greet you and seat you. So when you default to the bar you are ignored for 5 minutes while they chat back and forth. Then they finally ask what you d like to drink. Another 5 minutes passes by and they ve forgotten you again. I still enjoy their food, they just make it difficult to want to do business with them. At least this location in particular. I ll still try other locations. Hopefully it s a different story.

Visited here from out of state. They sat us outside when it was in the 30 s. Yes the area is enclosed, but the cold air sweeps under the bottom of those blockers and it s cold even with heaters. Me being 7 months pregnant was uncomfortable the entire time. If they re gonna make the outside area comfortable they need to make it to where no cold air gets in here because it was not a pleasant experience.

Kerbey Lane is known for being an amazing place to work, with fair wages and respecting its employees as well as its customers. The food they have is very good, and they are a staple of the community in hosting/allowing meetups, group events, scout sales, etc. The only reason I didnt give 5 stars is that the bar drinks are ridiculously overpriced for their size and strength. The cocktail I got was delicious, but there was hardly any alcohol in an already tiny glass (I watched it being make, it was not worth $8 in ingredients or prep time).
