Disappointing experience. My husband and I came in during a non busy time, we were seated as soon as we walked in. There were 4 servers standing around and waiting on surrounding tables. We locked eyes several times with multiple servers, and what appeared to be a manager and no acknowledgment. After roughly 7 mins of not being acknowledged we left.

I have been dining at Sakura for a bit over 4yrs now! We really enjoy this place from the staff to the food and everything in between. I want to express just how much Joy means to my kids and myself! They always want to be sure they say hello! She knows every single one of my children s names (I have 7) There is no wonder her name is JOY she is so pure! We love you Joy! We visited this past weekend just my (only) daughter and I, to have some time together to celebrate her 8th birthday, Joy was sure to do something special for her! Best Sushi I tried in Texas so far, the chicken teriyaki is superb and the tempura delicious, both the veggie tempura and the ice-cream tempura! The service was excellent and the best is that prices are not expensive! The place is very well decorated, not just the functional good food but average atmosphere one; well done. Delicious! This place hit the spot for a last minute date night decision. Service was pretty ok (it was not a packed night), and the food was worth the drive out of the way from our hotel suite. For nigiri we ordered baby yellowtail, salmon belly, escolar (super white), Japanese red snapper, Seabass, and sweet shrimp. Rolls ordered were the French kiss, sashimi roll, and butterfly kiss. Worth the visit, and we would definitely come back and try new things. Hopefully service is a little more on point next time.

THIS is our absolute favorite sushi restaurant in North Dallas! The staff is super friendly and very accommodating. Henry was our waiter tonight and was AMAZING!!!! He was so kind, so quick, and seemed impressed we finished two entire plates of sushi! At the very end of the meal they treat you to complimentary orange slices and it s quite literally the most perfect lasting impression! You leave feeling very full but clean, citrusy, and fresh! 10/10 recommend! They also offer gluten free options!!

We were pleasantly surprised! It was our first time and the sushi was delicious! We got the French kiss, rainbow, angry wife, and spicy salmon. Everything was fresh and tasted great. My husband doesn t usually like imitation crab in his rolls but he loved every roll we ordered here. The noodles were ok. Highly recommend this place! We ll definitely be back. It s also super cute! Customer service was absolutely terrible front host guy did not seem like he wanted to take my order and when he did he didn t ask me if it was to go or dine in all he told me was sit over there when I got my food I told him it was dine in and he started unwrapping it for me at the table instead of making it dine in on a plate he also did not bother to ask if I wanted a refill on my drink the whole time I ate I wasted 30$ on some half decent sushi that I could have bought from Kroger s will not be going back here again

I came on a Monday night and though it was a slow start to the evening, the fish was fresh, rice was cooked well & served at the perfect temperature. I enjoyed the cucumber crunch roll, classic California roll which was basic and good, and lastly I had a simple salmon roll. The ratio of meat to rice was just right! I met the manager at the end my dinner and she was so great to chat with. I highly recommend this spot for delicious rolls, freshness, and good service!

Cute place! The decore was elegant. Found the seating and layout to comfortable and intimate. Food choices were impressive with very reasonable pricing. Watered-down soy sauce was a bummer.... However, it was a solid first experience having a salmon tower... presentation and portion were spot on. Octopus was chewier than I remember!!! I m not often inclined to leave a review, but tonight s dinner was such a disappointment. We travel most of the year, and we eat a lot of sushi because it s my daughter s absolute favorite food genre. We are here visiting family and walked in to place a takeout order of 5 rolls, 2 sushi, and 2 salads, quoted 15-20 minutes. Returned after 15 and was told it would be another 15 because another order has come in. Bummer. Once home, we were disappointed to see that all rolls mentioning crab as an ingredient actually contain crab salad. This might be a regional thing because we ve noticed it at other Texas sushi restaurants, but we still felt duped because they are not the same and taste very different from each other. The larger rolls were all stretched out like grandpas elastic britches after Thanksgiving dinner, and we basically had to eat them as deconstructed pieces right off the tray. Another bummer. Even the wasabi seemed tube fresh with the texture of apple sauce. Hrmph. Honestly, we should have just picked up some sushi plates from the prepped counter at Sprouts and saved ourselves 20 minutes and some cash. Next time. The ambience inside seemed lovely though. Not all restaurants need or bother with a reservation system. Sakura does. Two weeks before dinner time we called to reserve a specific booth, and be sure to have it ready for our Mother s Day evening. We called the day before to reconfirm and make sure that everything would be as reserved. It was confirmed. It was with great displeasure that, when we arrived to the restaurant, we were guided to a cold and dark table in the back of the restaurant. Furthermore, we were told that certain booths required a minimum of four people to be able to reserve them. When entering the restaurant, we saw a couple of them with only three people. When we asked how this was possible, we were told that they were very important friends. Obviously, a privately owned restaurant can do what they want, but discrimination will never be taken well. The staff lies on the continuous basis, are very unprofessional, and the restaurant should never be able to operate with such management. This restaurant is a scam. The serving staff is otherwise friendly, and the food is passable. This one star rating addresses specifically the lies and games this restaurant plays. I would not recommend Sakura. This area has several better options, Edoko being one.

First timer and definitely not the last! We drove by this place many times and finally got the chance to stop in and try it out. Surprisingly there was not a wait on a Saturday evening. They have a wide range of options, from sushi pieces to hibachi meals. We chose a few sushi pieces and 2 rolls (Candy and Geisha). The quality of the yellowtail sushi was good! Did not taste fishy at all! Both specialty rolls were good, the Geisha had shrimp tempura inside which could ve been a little crispier. It was a little soggy, which didn t give the roll a crunchy texture that it should ve. The candy roll was good with good quality tuna and white fish on top. Henry, our waiter was very nice and attentive! Everyone there seems to be very nice as well! The ambiance was lovely, good music in the background yet not too loud. Overall, good quality for the price point. Definitely will be back!

The sake sampler was awesome. The shrimp shumai is my absolute favorite dish. I also got vegetable tempura and a baked Alaskan roll, both of which I loved. Update: Went back and had the bento box, absolutely the worse I ever had. California roll that came with it had brown avocado, hard rice not seasoned, can t see nor taste any cucumbers, and all smooshed together into a dark green, brown center. Two gyoza must have been re-fried, skin is very hard rather than crispy, soup was very watery and tasteless and little bits of tofu clearly are from dehydrated tofu, tasted rubbery. I had the salmon that was not fresh, overcooked and even the thick sauce on top can t mask the tasteless rubber, normal Bento comes with a bowl of steaming warm rice, their rice was hard and dry, same as the rice they used for rolls. However, the salad dressing was very good, wonder what brand it is. We also had the lunch sushi combination, this time, the sashimi Salmon had lots of veins that made it chewy, Kenny s Burger Joint next door uses a better sashimi grade Tuna for their tuna sandwich which one can ask for medium rare. No wonder there is only one other table when we went during busy lunch hours. I take back my 5 stars. Original review: Had chef selected of sashimi lunch special. Qualities of each pieces were good and fresh. Reasonably priced. Server is very attentive and had a great sense of humor. Decor is comfortable. Will be back to try their dinner menu.

Very cozy booths (but the general area tables are uncomfortably lit in a surgical-light way, hope they will consider changing that). We had salmon lover(simple and pure), unaji (a tad bony, but better than I could find in other Dallas sushi restaurants so far). Love-love rolls. and BTS (asked to custom make them without crunchies and they kindly fulfilled the request, which also means they def.make them fresh). And something else, dont remember, but we had to ask for a box to go, because it was a lot; portions are not tiny. Will be coming back! :)

It was a great dining experience for us. The service, sushi, and decor were very nice. We ordered the most expensive sushi plates - sushi boats - on the menu and the BIG BUMMER was they forgot to give us ginger and wasabi which are very essential for any sushi dish. When we ordered them again they gave us just a bit and WASABI was from the CHEAPEST QUALITY possible from any Asian grocery - slimy and light taste. This is sacrilegious for a great sushi place.

The sushi is quite tasty at this restaurant, but the prices seem unnecessarily high. My wife and I ordered 4 sushi rolls and two glasses of wine and it ended up costing over $100. I absolutely loved the sushi and thought Id need to get a side dish like teriyaki chicken or maybe chicken fried rice to make sure igot enough food. The first time I visited this place and we had excellent customer service and Sushi. I give 5 stars for the first visit and 3 stars for my second visit. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with my second visit. We walked into the restaurant at 8:40 and were told they were closed. Brought some clients here for dinner and had a pretty good time and overall experience. The ambiance is nice and relaxing. We had a party of 8 which and the service was outstanding. We had a trainee as a waiter but she was great! The other servers helped out as needed while made the experience extremely pleasant. The rolls were good. About what you would expect from your higher end sushi stops. While nothing really jumped off the page...everything was still good. We did order a sushi boat and while the presentation was incredible...it was average in quality of fish and flavor. For a 700 dollar tab and for client dinner, I might suggest another stop might suit you better... but for date night...I think Sakura would be just right.

Great service but average sushi in my opinion. Disappointed at the wagyu sushi (nigiri) since it didnt have that signature wagyu tenderness. Salmon sushi (nigiri) was also pretty good tho as well as the Tango and Candy rolls. If youre looking for solid sushi and a modern clean atmosphere this is the place to go!

I ordered lunch from here through a delivery service that comes to my office. Usually what shows up is less than excellent and certainly does not come looking like what would be plated in house at the restaurant where it comes from. I was shocked to get a meal with a nice presentation, still warm, that tasted great too. Well done Sakura! I ordered a shrimp tempura bento box that came with 4 pieces of California roll, gyoza , egg roll, potato korokke, and steamed rice . Also they included all sauces needed for the items. Packaged with care .

Tried it for the first time. The decor and environment are very nice, the staff very friendly and serviceable. The food is very tasty, with a variety of flavors and combinations. Reasonably priced. We had 4 rolls and a tuna tataki, a glass of Prosecco and a Mai Tai. The only negative is that we tried the butterfly kiss roll (showed as popular) and although the flavor was great, it was poorly made and fell apart, which made it impossible to eat until we got a fork and. Understanding it s a riceless roll, they should find a way to make it more compact so it can be ate as a roll i.e. had many riceless rolls at RA and other places using a fish or cucumber as the roll and they stayed compact). I asked the server and he said that it s supposed to be that way, which is definitely not the case. The other negative is that they had a very busy menu, too many rolls which makes it a bit confusing. Some people like to have 30+ rolls options but for me, a simpler menu would make it easier to pick.

I always have a great time here when I m in Amarillo! Alyssa is such a great bar tender and Adriana gives THE BEST SERVICE! If you ever have these girls you are in good hands. Sakura Sushi & Sake Bar was a very cozy and luxurious restaurant that has left the best impressions on our first visit. We had David as a server, and all the staffs and managers were also really friendly. This place was cozy and well decorated too. They had a huge beam projector on the wall that played romantic Videos the entire time! It was a great place to have a good memory with. They had delicious dishes, a beautiful presentation, a wide wine/sake list, and wonderful desserts! Definitely fine dining. Love this place and will continue to visit. This is our second time ordering there. We initially LOVED the taste of the sushi. However, both times we have experienced it having msg. That s an absolute no. I have an allergy to msg, and my mouth will get very dry. I also will get full very easily and bloated. I can tell almost immediately. I had forgotten from the first time, since it had been about 6-8 months. There is clearly msg consistently used. If you re sensitive to that, do not go here.

I order Uber eats for the first time from this restaurant and sadly I didn t receive half of my order. After informing the manager whose name was Mein over the phone, she told me, it s my fault for ordering from their restaurant through Uber eats and it is what it is. After being stiffed $30 worth of food and being mistreated by the manager of this restaurant, I won t ever be ordering from this restaurant again. Other great restaurants I have never had troubles with are not too far from my location and are great all across the board on service/food/packaging. Please do yourself a favor and don t order from this place unless you want to deal with the same problems I have dealt with.

Pretty good I guess. Got the Tonkotsu Ramen and Jalapeño bomb both takeout. It was surprisingly not bad. Only complaint is that they don t allow takeout for bento boxes which is so weird. Bento boxes are literally made to be taken out lol.
