Always enjoy eating here. The food is always delicious no matter what I order and the service is impeccable. Nice, cozy and quiet place to eat and the coffee is amazing here for dessert! Love their chicken fried chicken plate with scallop potatoes, green beans and corn. People who complain about the prices need to stick to McDonald s dollar menu or something and they can eat that cheap low quality food. I d rather have a homemade meal that really fills you up and tastes amazing with a touch of home away from home.

Was drawn to this cafe by a recent post and I love supporting local businesses. I was not disappointed! For starters I will definitely be returning. The atmosphere was great, very inviting. Friendly and respectful staff, the waiter, whom for the life of me forgot to ask his name before I left. He was very attentive, respectful, friendly and professional. The food I will rate 4/5 as I have only tasted a small amount from their menu. Although what I did have was very good! When you take something as simple as scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and potatoes and have it come out as good as it did. That s amazing. The biscuits and gravy were soooooo good! Probably the best biscuits and gravy I ve ever had. The waffles, pancakes along with the fresh fruit (strawberries) were also very good! I was greeted immediately as soon as we walked in the door and the wait time for the food was proper. So please support local and come out and give this cafe a try!

The turkey plate was VERY good, especially the stuffing...some of the best Ive ever had! All good regarding the food. The service was a bit lacking. We could tell the waitress didnt like that we asked our table be wiped down. It was dirty and it was 1 of 2 tables available and the other seemed to be used by employees to place their belongings and drinks. We felt rushed even though it was an hour before closing time. All in all, a different server experience would change my rating significantly....and the turkey plate is definitely worth going back.

There are lots of places to eat out when stopping in Harlingen, but when finding Chyann s I found this small slice of hospitality, reminded me of home. The coffee is nice, the food is amazing with the smell making my knees jump with excitement, and the serving staff made me feel so welcomed! I d stop by for chicken and waffles and their breakfast sandwiches!

Extremely disappointed with this place, had been waiting to try for a hot minute. I walked in early morning with the intention to have me a good breakfast and as soon as I stepped in a Caucasian server said we re closed mind you the sign outside said open and the door was literally unlocked. Hospitality was terrible. A word of advice for that server, a good morning, unfortunately we re still closed sorry about the sign error outside would ve been a lot better

Sign says wait to be seated , which is no problem, we don t mind, but what is very frustrating is the staff will see you walk in, see you standing at the front, will look you dead in the eyes and still not seat you or even bother to acknowledge the fact that you are waiting there. They will continue to walk right past you for stuff they need and still not even a hello or we ll be right with you . We eventually did get sat by someone other than the waitstaff. Once seated the two servers were walking right past our table looking right at us and acting like we re completely invisible. We waited a good 15 minutes before even getting our drink order taken. They didn t bother taking our food order and walked off. We waited another 10 minutes before my husband had to get up and figure out who our waiter was going to be so we could finally place our order. Our order was taken in a passive aggressive way by the blonde waitress. On their Facebook page they advertised kids eat free but when we went to pay the same girl who took our order said you have to ask for a free meal you can t just order whichever kids meal you want I then said that they re Facebook page didn t say that in the advertisement and she said well that s what it is . My family and I will not be returning which is unfortunate because we really liked the place.

A very nice change of pace from the typical breakfast tacos we eat. Chyann served us a delicious buttery croissant egg sandwich with potatoes & the waffle/ pancake combo with eggs, bacon, & sausage = both yum yum. We enjoyed the food very much & the atmosphere was just cool & eclectic. Definitely give this place a try; we will be back.

I was very disappointed with the avocado toast. I was expecting a little more than what I was served for the price I paid. Nothing special about the bread, avocado was lightly used, small slice of tomato cut in half and half a slice of bacon. Sadly will probably not be going back and thats a shame because place and service was awesome.

There are so many places to have a Mexican or American breakfast, but if you want something a little more quaint and personal then this is the place to go. Tried the croissant breakfast sandwich and waffle spread with a peanut butter iced coffee. Dang it was all so good. Highly recommended.

I went and had brunch with my daughter. We arrived and literally waited for 30 mins to get waited on. The server didn t tell me right away that there was a 2 limit on mimosas. I ordered the chicken and it was so dry that I felt I was choking. The server was rude and more worried about other things than the people at the tables. My daughter also had her baby shower catered by Cheyennes. The chicken sandwiches had a weird taste to them and the chicken was dry as well. I don t recommend this place at all.

I was actually looking into this little place to host a baby shower. Had some family go on a Saturday to try their breakfast and see the place. It started off with them not having croissants and I had to have my sandwich on wheat bread. Fine, no big deal.... I also asked for double muenster cheese. When I received my sandwich I took several bites and decided to take the first bread off, because I wasnt a fan. Well, after doing so, I found that I indeed had 2 slices of muenster cheese... and it had the paper that is used to separate the cheese. I found this after I had taken several bites...They took my plate and they didnt charge me for the sandwich. Just wanted to make people aware to check your food. I know mistakes happen, but, I wasnt a big fan.

We partnered with Chyann s for several meals during our wedding weekend and we did not regret it! We hosted our rehearsal dinner at the cafe and it was the perfect space for our party. They served the most delicious Italian food and allowed us to decorate the space! Our guests were very complimentary of the food and service provided by the staff. We also had them cater lunch as we were getting ready the morning of the wedding and they worked with us to come up with a nice light but filling menu of chicken wraps, parfaits and fresh fruit. At all meals, they even helped to provide an option for some guests with dietary restrictions. Chyann and her Mom were wonderful to work with from start to finish providing friendly service, competitive pricing, awesome communication and delicious fresh food! Would highly recommend them as an option for any event or catering needs! This is a cute spot with great atmosphere! But some things struck me as odd about our meals. We ordered and avocado toast, coffee, and 2 everything hash meals. The toast and coffee were phenomenal! But the hashes... Both were ordered the same way, one came with 2 pieces of meat and the other came with 4? And totally unseasoned, not even salted?? It was odd but they had condiments so we dressed up the food, and shared the meat so we each had 3 pieces each.

I visited Chyanns for the first time and first impression was that it was cozy and homey. The service was excellent. The only problem was the food and drink. The peach tea and strawberry lemonade were all made from mix using unfiltered water. I ordered the mash with Hasbrowns eggs and meats. The bacon and eggs were cooked perfectly but the hashbrowns lacked crispness. Not to mention there was a huge blob of what appeared to be velveeta or cheese slices over much of it. That much processed cheese only belongs in mac n cheese. I asked for butter for my toast (it wasnt provided, nor jam) but to my disappointed it was margarine. I havent eaten margarine for years. Did I mention they use dill in their chicken salad. That was differently different. My friend got the chicken salad sandwich and left 80% of the chicken salad in the plate. After a 20% tip the bill came to $20 per person. I honestly think its a bit pricey for the quality of food. You expect to pay that at like Cracker Barrel, but the CB food is far superior. Most everyone who gets waffles seems to like their food so keep that in mind if visiting and get the waffles.

Im not going to lie - I felt very disappointed. Wanted to try the turkey dinner and had been looking forward to it. Got there at 1145am and was waiting to be seated when someone walked up to flip the open sign to closed. Felt more like disorganized as opposed to sold out. All the staff were walking around with deer in the headlights look in their eyes. There was a party of four who appeared to have been seated for a while and were bravely waiting for their order to be taken and another party of three that had been seated and suddenly just got up and left before even placing an order for drinks. I felt like I had wandered on to a rudderless ship. We walked out with the party of three. My mother in law tried to warn me. Ugh. Giving two stars because the young lady at the front seemed to be trying her best.

This was my first time eating at this cafe and i don t understand where the bad reviews come from. The staff were amazing and seated me so quick, i ordered a simple waffle with a Americus Coffee and a water. The coffee was amazing Props to the barista and the food was made fast and delicious and the presentation was just beautiful. I would highly recommend this place if you ever want a authentic cafe experience. Compliments to the chefs making the food and the waiters always asking if i ever needed anything. Today 9/21/23 we celebrated my sister s birthday , for my second time being here was the most horrible experience, the wait staff took forever to bring our drinks , they are not experienced enough to run a restaurant they looked like if they didn t know what they were doing, we asked for drinks and they would get very offensive, they time frame on food being brought to the table took 25 minutes and they were not attentive to our refills we needed to flag them down for attention, we got our food the special of the day which was the turkey plate the stuffing was burned we could see the burn on the stuffing we let the waitress know she got offensive and told us it wasn t burn but it was then my sister ordered gravy and biscuits and found a hair on her food we let the waitress know and she got angry with my sister so I didn t mention the food was not good it was burned and a hair was found in her food then we told management and got offensive again with my sister we will NEVER go again very bad all around.

Real butter (like kerrygold or other grassfed) and syrup (real maple from costco) would help, but the food was pretty tasty. The pancakes were great. My daughter was very excited to take me to Chyann s Cafe for a Mother s Day gift, sad to report epic fail. Wait time was 1 hr. (Not a problem since it s Mother s Day and we understand it s a busy day.) finally got seated (a simple smile from the staff/servers should be part of the uniform not the case) waited over an hour for a breakfast plate which consisted of eggs, bacon and potatoes and toast 2nd order 1 waffle and 1 pancake. No refill on the drinks while we waited patiently and NO FOOD in sight. We simply got tired of waiting because now we were really hungry. No bueno .what I did see while the long wait was people at other tables being served one plate at a time. Finally gave up and offered to pay for our drinks our server apologized for the long wait time and and didn t charge us. Many moons I worked at a restaurant and with 18 years of being a server, manager and a patron. This is not acceptable hopefully this was an off day for the cafe as we were looking forward to eating at one of our local establishments . We ended up at Wing Stop. Happy Mother s Day.

I was excited to have finally tried and made it on time to a local restaurant that was on my list to try. We arrived at noon, and they closed at 1 pm. The food and atmosphere were excellent. Customer service, on the other hand, was missing. From the very beginning of our arrival, I had my toddler wiggling in my arms, and not one of the staff or waitresses came up to me and asked if I needed a high chair. My mom had to go and find one and bring it herself. I brushed it off, hoping that wouldn t be the service for the rest of the visit. Unfortunately, it was. The staff wasn t proactive and took the initiative to ask if we needed anything else for our coffee, check on us for refills, etc. I had to be a squeaky wheel and be persistent on what I needed. I m only writing this review to bring awareness because you have a great business, and I would hate for someone else to leave a negative review and never return. Hopefully on our next visit it will be better.

My husband and I wanted to try something new so we decided to try it out. We arrived at Cheyenne a at 1:30 pm and ended up having to take our food to go because they had never made it. We waited for about 50 minutes to get our food and we had to take it to go. Service sucked, the owner never came to our table to apologize and we still had to pay full price for our food. Never will I go to this place again. For our first time it was a terrible experience and was really hoping to enjoy this place.

Didn t even get to eat despite their hours stating they close at two. They said they closed earlier for a wedding they have to cater. I checked their Facebook page. The last thing they had was that their phones were finally working and their menu for the day. Nothing about closing early. The gentleman at the door said I should ve called earlier. I explained I was coming from Edinburg. If they knew they were going to close early. Please post it. We came just to try their food. Extremely disappointed.

The food is delicious and the ingredients are fresh. The waffles are crispy, and the cinnamon infusion in the waffles and pancakes makes them flavorful without having to add lots of syrup. Their tortilla soup a few days ago was great. Excellent service with servers who are friendly and attentive.

Couldn t leave a second good review on Facebook since I last visited their first location, came to their new location on Jackson and it s just as I remembered when I first visited super cozy great location, had gotten the stuffed chicken and had to try out the pot roast along with the strawberry lemonade. Everything was chefs kiss cooked to perfection, my friend enjoyed every bite as well it was their first time trying out Chyann s and they definitely will be making a visit. This hidden gem has impeccable service and delicious food. The specialty coffee was amazing and the waffles were crispy and light. The eggs were cooked to perfection and the pancakes were amazing! I visited the new location, the atmosphere is very nice. Tables are a mixed matched variety. The menu ranges from breakfast sandwiches to Arroz con leche. There are various coffee choices. I split the breakfast board with my friend. The food came out quickly, and the presentation was beautiful. The bacon and sausage was a highlight, the waffles, eggs, and pancakes were fluffy and light. The service was attentive and timely. I will visit again.

Original Review: Call ahead if you plan to dine here to make sure they have enough ingredients and ask about wait times. Complete failure in the kitchen today where they stopped serving brunch by 11am and then took an HOUR to make three sandwiches. Chicken noodle soup was very salty and wasn t a soup. BLT had one piece of lettuce, half a slice of bacon, and two slices of tomato. Inexcusable to keep patrons in the dark about the situation and for the dishonest assurances that my order would be ready soon when they knew it was nowhere close.

Had the stuffed chicken breast, (bone in). With side of corn, green beans, and scalloped potatoes. Nice and scorching hot . Very tasty. Chicken just slightly overcooked. Green beans, good, but I prefer fresh Haricots and the corn could use some oomph. Like grilled corn, with sauteed red onions, red Bell pepper, and charred sliced Poblano. The scalloped potatoes were good. But overall, it was really good. This was the first time I ate from there. Will need to try their breakfast.

No me gusto or in English I didnt like it while looking at your empty plate, is the ultimate expression of saying I loved it! (Mexican idiom). Dining at Chyanns Specialty Cafe was such a Treat, my preferred word is Experience. I am glad I didnt get a speeding ticket driving through Tyler Ave. from our awesome Harlingen Police Department as I drove into town to experience for myself of this place that my sis Carolyn recommended. I was immediately welcomed by the friendliest employees in the RGV. The owner and inspiration for this great establishment, Josie Ann Olivarez, and her manager, Miguel Chip introduced themselves and welcomed me as well (even Chyann came and said hello!). Needless to say, blown away because that shows you what their priorities are, the customer. The place is beautifully decorated and intimate. The prices are unreasonable (low that is). The presentation of the food when it arrived (which was super fast considering everything was cooked to order - fresh and hot) was pleasing to all five senses. I have to mention - Complimentary mimosa! I had the Pancake Board - I love the taste of whole wheat grain baked goods. Absolutely delicious! For bacon lovers, yes it was just the right crispiness and texture. The eggs were fluffy and seasoned just right. The fresh tart blue berries and sweet tangy strawberries complimented the entire dish. This Harlingen locally woman owned and operated business is exactly what we need in this community to create memories with our friends and families (and business meetings too). I cant forget to mention. They have outdoor seating. Seriously, that is so rare, but shouldnt be. We live in the Rio Grande Valley after all. This should be standard restaurant practice (IMO). They also have a drive through in case you have to take-out to the office, home, or events. I cant wait to go back again (and again and again).

My mom, a lifelong resident of the area, called every place she could think of to find a vegan cake. The options were limited to McAllen until the chef and owner, Chyanns mom, was the only person in Harlingen to agree to bake a vegan cake. The vegan chocolate cake was delicious and enjoyed by my meat-eating family. I thoroughly enjoyed my birthday brunch at this friendly spot with a picturesque pumpkin patch outside, too.
