We ordered boiled crab. It was tasteless. Parts of my crab were not warm. The potatoes and the corn were also tasteless. Waiter was too busy on his phone while sitting at the counter to check on us. I had to go to him to get things.

Service was prompt and given with plenty of smiles!!! The food was EXCELLENT!!!!! I had a seafood chowder that was so good, I almost cried! The hush puppies were flavorful and perfectly spiced. The catfish was cornmeal battered, crispy, and taaasty! The seafood boil was generously portioned and SOOOOO deliciously seasoned! But what topped off our experience was meeting the proud part-owner and chef, Jose Luis who put his entire heart in every morsel of food we ate. There was Nuthin But LOVE on our table...100 %!!! We will ALWAYS return to Pier 101. Run, dont walk and see what Im talking about!

We ate here after church last Sunday, and were already planning out return visit to try the other amazing looking entrees we didnt have time for on this visit. Blake, our server, was surprised it was our first time but was more than happy to make some great suggestions. You cant go wrong with the Crab Legs or the Stuffed Mushrooms as an appetizer. Unfortunately that was all the time we had was to eat that, but we are returning this weekend to try the shrimp and grits and cajun enchiladas Fun atmosphere and quaint little building, but fully stocked bar with lots of options to satisfy any level of cocktail to complement your meal. Looking forward to my return this weekend. If you enjoy seafood and a nice variety on the menu than look no further than Peir 101.

My husband and I tried Pier 101 for the first time today. We were extremely disappointed. He got the shrimp boil and it was less than a pound of shrimp and they over cooked it. I got the seafood Étouffée and it was so salty I couldn t even eat it. $60 for two meals that neither of us enjoyed. Definitely won t be going back.

Was told when called that there was no need for a reservation around 5, so of course we didnt make one. My family and I were celebrating July birthdays today. When we arrived however it was a totally different vibe. There were 10 of us (black), and as soon as we walked in the door, we immediately felt that we werent welcome by the look on the hostesses face, and the people inside the restaurant. We were asked if we had a reservation to which I replied no. I told her when we called we were told we didnt need one. She then goes to talk to someone which I didnt understand because all she needed to do is to ask us to wait for a table. We could also see that were tables available in the back. She claimed that they just had a party of 14 to. all, and I probably talked to someone who didnt know. We left after 3 mins because clearly she/they werent trying to accommodate 10 African Americans. I see now why the guy I spoke with earlier said they havent been very busy lately. Prejudice still exists, as my family experienced it today.

Our alligator came out burned and I ordered the seafood boil which was not cheap, being charged for snow crab 32 dollars a pound was not snow crab ......... I had just had snow crab the week before in south texas but the shrimp which size was ok but were so over cooked you couldnt chew them they were like rubber tires ....I told the waitress about it after trying to eat a few because with the price I was paying I didnt want to waist it she told me there was nothing they could do because I had eaten some of it and my husband ordered the coconut fried chicken tenders he received what looked like a kids meal and it was burned ..again the waitress apologized and said they usually dont get complaints I told her its not her fault the food came out like that or that she couldnt do anything about it ...I said usually at least a manager would come and speak to a customer about it she said there wasnt a manager there well who did you go tell about it that told you you couldnt do anything I informed her that some people cant go out and eat all the time and when they do its with money that they had to save for and hope that at prices like we were paying would get better food service....I am not sure if someone was taking a break while making our food but the people next to us food wasnt burnt

It was a nice place to pop into if you re in the area. The service was friendly and quick. I went in the afternoon, a good crowd but not busy at the bar. I ordered to go. It s kid friendly, good amount of seating, good parking lot . Parking: Good open lot. You do have to be a customer to park in this area so that also helps. Kid-friendliness: Afternoon hours are kid friendly. Should be the same all day

I write this review deeply regretting the fact we have lived next door in Fate for 3 and 1/2 years, and last night was our first time at Pier 101. We went to celebrate Fathers Day with my son and his family. We enjoyed a selection of items from the menu. Everything was top quality, full of flavor, and completely satisfying. The crab mac and cheese was probably the best Ive ever tasted. Crawdad boil was full of large crayfish, not tiny ones. The catfish was amazing, as was the gumbo and etouffee. Our server (a younger guy) was an utter delight and perfectly attentive.

I feel like we paid for lunch at dinner prices, but it was all good.

I ordered fried catfish, it came with a lot of the black fat which makes it fishy and unedible. Second of all the crab is so fishy you cant eat it as well. the boil was ok but salty and spicy at the same time, The waiter couldnt say youre welcome to save his life and the service was slow while there were no other tables in the restaurant. The food is over priced and the service is terrible. I hope this changes but i will not be back.

This place is a joke, The Asian lady behind the bar asked how many we told her two she asked if the table IN FRONT OF THE BAR was okay, we said yes it is. So we sat there and waited for a waiter or waitress someone that works at this place to get us menus. We sat and waited as servers passed us in front of us behind us next to us to the next room in front of the bar and yet not one single server approached us and presented us with a menu. So we waited longer and waited and waited. Saw people next to us. Get refills and waited and waited with an empty table. The last straw was when a party of two came in behind us and the Asian lady behind the bar again pointed to a table and asked if it was okay but this time she told somebody to give them menus. At this point it was 15 minutes of waiting to be acknowledged at a table in front of the bar from the Asian lady behind the bar. That didnt do a damn thing. So we make the decision to leave and as we leave the Asian lady behind the bar said thank you for coming. The question is why the hell are you telling people where to say it? If youre not going to give them a menu and youre behind the bar, you werent busy. It was 6:40 on a Saturday evening and he had five open tables so come on. Theres no excuse for that. This is ridiculous, I wouldnt recommend coming to this place because the lady behind the bar will probably tell you if that table was okay and not give you a menu and youre going to have to wait 15 minutes and walk out and then she says thank you for coming. My response is thank you for not letting me pay you any money for giving me bad service.

My husband and I, along with our 4 year old son and another couple went here for dinner. I ordered the Cajun pasta. When it arrived there was a very long black hair mixed in with the sauce. (I am a red head and my friend has maroon colored hair so obviously not ours, especially with it being underneath the bread and had sauce on it). Once I told the waiter he asked if I wanted another one. Update: I still even left a tip and upon checking my bank account they took out an ADDITIONAL charge. Confirms furthermore that I will never go back. Well, yeah. As I was waiting for my food our friend noticed this same long black hair wrapped around his salsa cup/bowl. Like really?? Our bill was over 180 and ABSOLUTELY no apologies or compensation for the hair issues. We won t be coming back. Too bad cause we thought we would really like this place.

We came in with a birthday party on a cold Saturday around 12pm in December.. there were literally only 2 other tables in the restaurant the entire time. Our server did the best he could with our big party of around 15- so thank you! However, the owner/manager whoever the Asian lady is behind the bar barking orders was less than pleasant and just down right rude. When we walked in she just stared at us giving us a dirty look before finally speaking with an annoyed tone when we asked for a high chair. Once we sat down I set our birthday present for the birthday boy on an unoccupied table beside ours.. WELL, this manger told our server to come to our table and tell us to move it. He was embarrassed as he kept apologizing saying I m sorry she s telling me to have it moved, I m sorry. We of course moved it but I thought maybe they had another party coming in that needed the table but NO! The entire place sat dead the whole time we were there. Not to mention the Crab Mac and cheese that I ordered as my meal tasted horrible!

The boiled seafood was excellent! Crab cakes were crisp on the outside and super soft in the middle, perfect. Fried gator was tender and delicious. The gumbo was really tasty! My best invited me to this place & had to do this review being from NOLA & the menu was Cajun. So 1st: I had the Lobster Ravioli. For $30 u SHOULD get a tail on your plate. I believe I had 4 pieces, so I take it that s a half of a tail, maybe. Room for improvement. It comes w/asparagus & ALL I seen was stems on my plate. See pic below. I DONT have a problem with vegetables, the raw the BETTER, but I think for that dish, the bell peppers SHOULD be Sautéed/grilled just a little. I prefer raw peppers on my salad instead, NOT in a pasta dish. Overall the waitress were VERY friendly. Clean environment w/a small bar w/many options & a covered patio. Kid friendly, Cajun, family oriented & GREAT spot for a dinner date.

This was our first time eating there and definitely wont be our last. The food was excellent, especially the tea. Our waitress was AWESOME. Im so sorry, I forgot her name but she stated that she just started back waitressing and she actually made the tea for that day. We came on 7/8/23 between 6pm-7pm. I felt she went above and beyond. It was the service for me and then the food. Its hard to get good service but when you do, that usually makes the food even better. So thank you to the young lady that waited our table. We really appreciate you and how you took care of us and made an everlasting impression. You have 2 faithful customers for life. Thank again for the experience.

We stopped for lunch from our drive in from Garland area. And, though the food was pretty good and fresh, the customer service was horrible - basically it sucked! Thats why the 3 stars only. Never hows your food or is there anything else I can get you, or thank you for stopping in etc. Oh, and they gave us the wrong ticket - and didnt have the decency to apologize for their mistake. It doesnt take much to be curious and respectful.

Waited 2 hours on our food and was seated in a section separate from the other guest. (gotta love grand ole Rockwall) Our waiter was pleasant and the food so-so. The food didn t meet the standards of authentic Louisiana seafood or cuisine.

I ordered the fried shrimp, it was overly cooked. I told the waiter about it, and he said, someone else complained, too. If someone else complained would you not fix the problem. I will probably not go back!

Kinda hit or miss. First time I went the Calamari was great, second time it was like frozed rubber rings. My wifes red snapper was great, topped with lump crab, presentation was nice, wonderful meal. I had the Cajun Boil whose presentation left a lot to be desired. Everything was in a plastic bag along with much of the liquid. It was messy and a royal pain to eat. The potatoes however, soaked up all the flavors and were great. If I could get a bowl of just the potatoes I would. Not worth a return trip.

The gator nuggets were rubbery and teaspoon size (10 for $19.99) only 2 small pieces of corn on the cob, half a crab and a couple of potatoes in the $39.99 seafood sampler. Only shrimp and sausage was in reasonable quantity. The gumbo tasted like beef stew. The meal was disappointing yet pricey. I won t be returning.

In my books, this is Michelin grade food. The bar is elaborate. The drinks are strong. The food is fresh ! We had Blackend King Salmon which tasted perfect. The food on other tables looked good too. The Corn bread was fresh and moist. Hush puppies were crunchy from the outside and soft from the inside. Banana Pudding perfectly completed our lunch. I recommend this gem of a restaurant in Rockwall !

We visited Pier 101 again and had an excellent experience. Service and food were excellent! I recommend some felt slides on the chairs and candles on the tables to improve the environment, but overall we really enjoyed the evening! Dietary restrictions: Plenty of gluten free options. Wheelchair accessibility: Main dining room is fully accessible

Why 3 stars? Customer service should always be key. Be attentive to your customers. Their drinks , their needs , they shouldnt always have to wave you down. Waiter was not good. He was too busy into the conversation at the bar rather than waiting on his 2 tables. Food is really good. Location is quite noisy. Parking can be complicated. Parking: Pretty tough to find a good spot to park.

We got the seafood sampler and added more crab to share. Everything was WAY overcooked. The fried Alligator appetizer, the kids fish, the crab, shrimp, & sausage. ALL were rubbery and tough to chew. The staff was nice. The bathrooms were very dirty. Seafood is definitely not their specialty, but since the name is Pier 101, I thought they would have great seafood.

The shrimp was fantastic, and the fried oysters were awesome. The alligator was good, calamari was great. The hush puppies had too much paprika, and the catfish was to wet when they put the batter on because it fell off when I picked it up. Overall, I will go back and try some more.

Update 3/24/23. Cornbreading is flavorless on the catfish, has no taste - thin filets. Gumbo did not seem fresh, salmon was good though. Waiter served us well. Today, I have dropped from 3 stars to 2. Disappointing, Im not I will be returning.
