Do NOT recommend. We used to love it here. The past few times there s been 1 waitress handling all the tables and the bar, with no help. The waitresses we ve had were very obviously burnt out and I m sure customers were being rude due to the poor service (at no fault of theirs). How much can 1 person do when they are handling EVERYTHING? Aside from that, the food is BAD. Our burgers were dry, our fries were overcooked, and the chicken tenders were like hard leather (photo for reference) - totally not edible. After informing the waitress of the issue with the chicken, they made another order for us to-go and it was the SAME, so we threw it out and left. It was basically freezer burnt and fried - GROSS. If ownership can t get their staffing under control and kitchen in order, this place will continue to go downhill. After 3 bad experiences in a row, we won t be back.

This place is good for entertainment, but they used to also have great food. Unfortunately, the last two or three times we ve gone the food has been awful and barely edible. The menu used to be great, but now it s just mostly fried food that tastes extremely freezer burnt. I m pretty sure the fries were from the day before and they just fried them again and served them. I don t know how it s possible for food to be rock hard and soggy with grease at the same time, but they ve accomplished it. I get that entertainment is your business model, but the place is empty anytime there s no band. Fire your cooks and get your old one back who had a proper menu. Won t be back.

Went to see an 80s cover band and they were great!!! Its outside seating and the servers are very nice and attentive to the tables. My only advice is for the servers to not open the cans until they are in front of the patrons. You can never be too careful these days with spiked drinks and human trafficking and all. Needless to say, always go in pairs at least. My PSA for the day. The food was pretty good for bar food. The inside bar area is spacious with plenty of seating.

Not a big fan of posting bad reviews but at times... you have to. My husband and I were there on Saturday, the place was packed because they had a great cover band we saw perform back in April and loved it. We got there early to get seats but no luck (naive of us). While the band was getting ready, we headed inside to get a drink and found a dirty open table and we decided to take it since there were not many options. Power went off but they seemed to be operating... The waitress approached the 2 tables to our left and asked if they needed anything and as she was about to pass by ours (ignoring us) after sitting there for almost 15 minutes, I called her attention and asked if we could get help. She apologized and said that they were short staffed (only 2 serves inside). Understandable I guess.. but there were two other girls near the door standing doing nothing (not servers maybe?). So we decided to go outside instead and get our drinks, let our server know, approached the bar and had a short talk with the bartender over when electricity was going to be restored and she said around 10 minutes. We ordered 2 cocktails priced at $8 as per the sign, the bartender said we couypay cash or open a tab. As she was getting our drinks ready the power came back so my husband decided to pay with his credit card. He noticed that the charge before taxes was $18 but if you do the math it should have been $16. He hesitated to say something but I encouraged him to let her know. Turns out the bartender was rude about it and said thats what the system shows, I cant void it, its taxes and walked away. My husband was trying to explain and she just walked away. Its not the money (but it also is if you think about all the other guests that pay without noticing it) its the way she handled the situation. No need to be a jerk about it. I just stepped aside because it was an uncomfortable situation... Apparently the manager gave him the $2 dollars back. I bet not many people notice it but I find it dishonest to show $8 to the public and charge $9. Just update your price chart. An apology and an explanation would have served the purpose, no need to be rude and disrespectful about it... Disappointing. Im sure they dont need our business so were not planning to go back.

RAW CHICKEN - BEWARE. I went tonight for the trivia night and ordered Parmesan garlic boneless chicken wings - I bite into one and the texture felt off so I immediately check and see that it is still very much SUPER pink. I have an image attached below. For anyone who orders anything chicken from here please check your chicken! These kinds of mistakes are unacceptable from any establishment and can cause serious food poisoning.

Great place for an impromptu night out/concert! Great bands, lots of fans to help keep the patio cool during the Texas summer heat. My only complaint is that the food and drinks are extremely subpar. I had three $8 cocktails and I wasn t sure if there was any liquor in it???? Half of the drinks that my group had ordered were good and strong, but the other half were questionable. If you have any kind of dietary restrictions, eat before, as their patio menu does not offer any substitutions.

I I went in the back/side entry, walked straight to the restroom and I noticed they were having a private event So when I came out of the restroom decided it wasn t a time to get a beer but to leave. There was a very verbally aggressive blonde headed manager who started pointing at me and said. YOU CANT BE IN HERE WE ARE CLOSED FOR A PRIVATE EVENT. I said we were just leaving but I d like to walk back the way I came to get to my car. I pointed to the back door, she sad that door is closed whilst it was VISIBLY OPEN. I was so embarrassed, she behaved like she had to THROW ME OUT in front of all the people around us. All I did was walk in to grab a beer and it wasn t my fault that manager did not close the doors in back. I used to love this place and now I don t even think i m going to move back to roanoke as I was on my way to lease an apartment this evening at the magnolia on Oak. Chop Shop Live, I was publicly embarrassed by your angry B of a manager and i was just trying to grab a beer and use the bathroom. DO BETTER with your customer service that was AWFUL for me. and put a sign up on all doors next time.

Was there with a group tonight. Not too busy but the waitress was the only server working tables apparently. Waited over 30 minutes for my burger and thought it tasted funny while taking a bite. Meat was completely raw inside, not cooked at all. Server was very apologetic and took it back to show the cook. I told her I didn t want a replacement as I had no appetite. She did offer me wings that apparently were cooked extra, how does that happen. I told her now as I can t trust that was cooked either. Also had an issue with all the smokers at the outside bar and their smoke coming into the restaurant. Don t recommend and won t return either.

Jersey (bartender) suggested I get the patty melt. Made sense, it was St. Patricks day weekend. Couldnt play outside due to heavy rain all day still people came out and sang along. I really enjoy the Chopshop and the music is always great. My issue on our last visit was with the GM Cara. I reserved the VIP seating for a birthday party. I emailed per the request form 2 weeks in advance. Never heard back the week before the event I called several times and left messages for a return call from Cara. Finally called and she happened to answer, so I was able to make the reservation. She told me the card would be a place holder and everyone could pay cash once they arrived. I informed her I wanted to pay with my card for everyone and that some folks might be early and I didn t want them charged. She said yes no problem I will make sure that happens. Our party arrives and it is cash only even though my card is on file. I was told I had to pay with cash which Cara Forgot that major detail. So the guy working the gate told me to pull money from the ATM, keep in mind this is a large party and their ATM won t allow transactions over $200. So I was forced to make 2 transactions and got charged for each! It was infuriating how poorly they managed the VIP experience. I will never pay for that again not worth it at all. Love the venue and music but Cara is not doing your business any good.

Nice venue for small shows. The layout starts to get cramped once people begin filling the table area. #theJoshuaTree performed indoors and had the crowd engaged. I appreciate that the windows/garage doors could be raised to allow in fresh air. Kudos to the bartenders & wait staff!!! Didnt try any food this time. Guinness is $8

I love this place! Kara honestly makes this place whole. Shes a great manager and keeps the place running fantastic! Chopshop live used to be our favorite bar in Roanoke. Recently a new GM came in and the place completely changed. It s more like an Applebees now (no disrespect to Applebees). The GM will turn off the music that people pay for on the jute box. She s driven out EVERY bartender that was there before she was hired. She was rude to me and my gf when my gf was having a work event. It s crazy how one person came in and completely ruined that bar in like 2 months. I won t ever go back there or encourage anyone at my company to have their work events there until things change and the gm is gone.

Ive been coming to ChopShop for a few years now, and it used to be my favorite place to go. The bartenders and waiters were like family. I would go here to eat and have some drinks a few times a week. I also go every now and then for the concerts and fun events. It used to be a really fun place to hang out with friends, watch football, and listen to good music. Recently, a new GM came in and changed the entire feeling of the place. She is rude, works at the bar with her laptop out, shuts off music that clients paid for in the jukebox, and drove out all of the workers we would go there to support. I recently had my work Christmas party here (which I had booked before the new GM came in) and she provided an awful experience. To start, she ripped off decorations that we had brought and threw them away before we left. She also took some of their things and threw them on the bench without asking if she could touch them. Also, when we were asking if they still had cowboys shots, she was incredibly rude and just said theyre $5. We walked out and will never go back until something changes. So sad. This was our hangout spot in Roanoke and is no longer a place we will support until this GM is gone and our staff is back.

Good bar/restaurant with some nights having live music, really good bands are brought over to entertain. 80s and 90s rock music mainly played. Cool crowd of all ages, more on the higher/mature side. Very spacious with an outdoor area. Ideal for bigger concerts. You have live big games to kept entertained also, like Jenga with huge wood blocks and connect four also body size . One billiard pool table is also available. They have different events for different weeknights, Tuesdays, Thursdays they have different themes; karaoke party is available, if not mistaken on Thursdays, as well as other different theme options. Food is good, burgers, and many other bar food options. Staff is always friendly and ready to serve and help. Parking: Good amount of parking, they have their own free parking lot next to the business. Besides, it has free street parking spaces and a very convenient free parking garage from the city of Roanoke.

Best experience ever! I had to plan a company event at this venue. Let me tell you... I was not disappointed. Kara (manager), the chefs, bartenders and her entire staff were phenomenal. They made sure each guest were and felt special. As soon as I walked in the door Kara was right there greeting our guests. The bartenders were friendly and fast. First visit to this venue, we really liked the feel and look of the place and were excited to try it. The restaurant was not very busy inside and the server greeted us promptly. However, it took about 20 minutes to get our first beer, and the food took about 30 minutes to receive. The food had good flavor but was luke warm and had very little sauce on the BBQ burger. Overall, I would say it was okay and not terrible, but not itching to get back there soon. We thought about staying for the outside performance to come of Like Combs, but based on the service from inside, we didnt think it would be much better where it was already much busier and rowdy than inside. I would have preferred a more positive experience.

This is a really cool club and they have some awesome live music and food as well. I saw Dreams Unwind Stevie Nicks Experience with Little Skynyrd last night. Great entertainment, but I think they need to turn her volume up. Thats just my opinion. Update: Time Thief rocked the Chop Shop last night. A great time was had by all. They have a big fan on the ceiling out in the audience patio area and it really makes a difference. It was pleasantly cool enough to enjoy a patio show. Thanks Roanoke Chop Shop. It was the third and last time I go back to the Chop Shop. I read thru all the other negative reviews before I felt compelled to write this one. Marisa the bartender was busy talking to a male customer when I arrived at the bar. She whisked by me saying hello darling and then disappeared for about ten additional minutes. When she go back the people nest to me grabbed her to place an order while I sat there without service. She finally asked what I wanted to drink. I ordered a glass of champaign and asked for a menu. The menu didnt have the weekend brunch listed on it and Marisa told me to look on my phone they didnt have a brunch menu. She ten quickly rattled off they were out of bla bla and bla. She then brought me a half glass or less of champaign. I questioned it and she snapped back that is a full glass. I was there the other times for brunch and did receive a menu and would never had gone back and brought friends if the service and drinks were so skimpy and the service so shoddy. I asked for a check and left without ordering food!

Fun atmosphere! Great service! Loved the Trash Can Nachos! They had a very good flavor to them. I just wish the bar was facing the inside instead of the outside so we could have enjoyed more of the scenery of the inside of the restaurant. Parking is off of 377. I never would have it if my husband hadnt told me that. Google maps brought me down the small main street in front of the courthouse. Btw...its 25 mph. cuz lots of pedestrians. Parking: Only entrance is off of 377. Kid-friendliness: Just a cool place with lots of colored lights and cool stuff to look at. Nothing you wouldnt see at any other sports bar and grill. The live bands are always on point. We haven t had the best luck with servers. Slow and not very friendly. We have only ordered nachos but they were not very good. Barely any cheese and it s not shredded cheese. It was as if we ordered chips and queso not nachos. The drinks are a little pricy. I enjoyed this chopshop location! It is large and very well maintained. Inside, the bar area seats many. Outdoors, the stage is huge and covered from elements. There are plenty of picnic tables lined up outside. Plus, VIP booths on either side of the stage. Plenty of room. Restrooms in and out. Menu is pretty simple. We got the chicken fingers. Fries were hard & hard to eat. The only downside of the experience was the sound seemed to lose quality over the night. Extreme static and bassy noise towards the end of the show FoH.

If you haven t tried the salmon, it s fantastic. It s bigger than the picture. I ate some then remembered to share the experience. I ve had it twice and will order again. Green beans are great too. Great salads. My husband had the cheese fries that were great as well.

My daughter and I, went there Saturday. We had a blast, my niece joined us towards the end. Clinton was our bartender he was great.... but what a blessing to get out in the fresh air and enjoy a live band. 80s music will never die. . Everyone there was dancing and happy to be alive.

I was here on a Friday and the music and venue was fantastic! I stopped by on Sunday Funday and it was just a desert. Quiet... I thought thered be some Sunday Funday live music?! Soon, I hope! Love it here otherwise.

Staff is rude and unprofessional. I forgot my ID because I didn t realize this was a bar and did not see a sign saying 21+ outside. If the bouncer had simply told me I couldn t come in at all and respectfully explained that to me, I would have understood. Instead, he commented that I looked way too young. He then ignored me as if I no longer existed. Additionally, he never made it clear I could not come in. He simply asked if I had an ID, said I looked too young, then acted as if I no longer existed. Another man proceeded to get a literal inch from my mothers face to explain. I simply walked away. Absolute jerks. I understand there are laws and they likely don t want to lose their liquor license, but human decency if the bare minimum anyone can offer and it is absent here.

Food order was messed up but was corrected. They came to our table at 715 to collect $10 for the band that started at 9 and we had just recieved our food. We did however stay for the band then and they were really good. 80s Heavy metal band.

Unlike my fathers review from 3 years ago, I had an excellent experience my first time visiting. Went to see the Silverado Mullet Country Band and they did not disappoint. Great music, dancing, prompt service and amazing french fries which unfortunately did not last long enough to be pictured. Will be returning next opportunity that arises.

Crowded, due to cold weather, band was inside, they need to expand to accommodate indoor concerts. Tables were limited very inconvenient to have to stand for those over ages 40/ 50, food was ok, prices a bit high, Id recommend the trash can nachos, great for a group to share a snack.

We went for a live 80s concert on Saturday night. The entrance was $10 only cash (they had an ATM there available) and they said also you can pay online in their website. It has inside and outdoor space, you can sit, play Billar or being around or Stand up. Live concerts to enjoy with friends. Food and drinks. Ask for drink specials they might have your favorite. Very nice place.

Food is good. Service is not bad. A good venue to see a band. Warning, the stage is outside. Priced a little on the high side but the food was good. The trashcan nachos were delicious. The burger was a touch overcooked but not worth sending back.

Awesome concert venue. Great food. APlus drinks at a great price. Did a concert for 2, appetizers, drinks, 2 meals and tip for just under $100 for 4.5 hours of fun. Helluva deal. Make it a priority to catch a concert or just a great burger here.

Place was cool but out back for Eagles tribute band we had the worst waitress for our table I have ever had. They control drinks by having her only show up twice for the whole night.
