After seeing this beautiful place, we couldn t pass this place up for our wedding. During our wedding, we were told by our attendees on how cool the historical tours that this place hosts. We ll definitely be going back to take one of them! Don t pass the tours up neither! Chris, was super helpful throughout the wedding process and during. He did a phenomenal job on decorating our wedding. Ladies and Gents, go with fake flowers they look real! And this place is such a reasonable price for your wedding. We had so many compliments! My Husband and I, are super grateful to have had this beautiful place as an option. We have zero regrets. This place is one of a kind, not just for weddings but the history behind it. You can definitely see the significance this place holds.

My dear brother and I visited the George Farm and we enjoyed this visit as we learned about the development of American society. For your information, the historic George Farm was opened in 1988 as an educational partnership between the George Foundation and the Fort Bend Historical Society. It includes four historic home sites: the 1830s Jones Farm, the 1860s Ryon Prairie Homestead, the 1890s Victorian Davis Mansion, and the 1930s George Ranch and Ranch. Learn more about the park and its key historic sites.

Went here with my daughters first grade class for a field trip. From the very beginning the lady that was giving the rules, stopped her whole presentation to reprimand a child for playing with something in his hand instead of listening. No one in the whole group knew what she was talking about and it seemed weird to stop your presentation to reprimand something that was not even disruptive. But, after hearing the rules we moved on to the next part which was seeing a cabin. The 2 guides continued with strange and rude comments to the kids, and the parents. We were all tryin to be respectful and follow instructions but they just seemed unhappy to even be there or give information to the kids. The cowboys were super nice and informative with the children, and the blacksmith was great. The other gentleman who was giving the tour of the 1800s cabin just flat out spoke down to the kids with any question they asked. This was a group of 1st graders! I am wondering if they just need higher age limits for these tours because they seem to have very unrealistic expectations for how these kids should act. Our group is well behaved and we had plenty of parent chaperones who were invested in helping the kids pay attention and learn. But I would say overall a very off putting experience, due to three staff members who seem to just not like kids or their jobs or both.

One of the original 300 ranches in Texas. The George Ranch celebrated its 200th anniversary in 2024. Very very rare accomplishment indeed. If you enjoy history, cool, architecture, ranching, and serving your community, this is the place for you. George Ranch is still working ranch. George Ranch still serves community of Fortman county and a great many ways. You re looking to host an event, they have several venues available on the property. They have incredible events at Christmas, they do a rodeo, they do a pioneer day. And it s all very very cool.

Very nice but we were behind another large group and it was difficult to get attention, one person even did not want to give us the tour because he had to save his voice for the next large group, there were around 25 of us. The lady of the Victorian house refused to give us a tour of the second floor. I only keep the 3 stars because of the blacksmith shop guy who gave us a great demonstration, and the rodeo guys were excellent too! A lot of walking, wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Its okay to come once but I wouldnt go back.

When I came to Texas and wanted to meet a cowboy, I was thrilled to be able to meet one. They will guide you through the buildings according to era. There was a cowboy show. After that, I saw a person living in a small building with a chicken. I was shocked by this. When I heard that the person living there was a third-generation Japanese American, I felt even closer to him, and he let me hold a chicken. happy. You can ride it on a tractor that guides you around the farm. There was no restaurant inside, so I thought it would be a good idea to bring something with you. There is a shop

With our two children (11 and 14 years old) we were at the ranch for a total of over 3 hours. The tractor trolley goes from station to station, or you can also walk everywhere. The history of the house and the family is told in the buildings, and the cowboy show is also very entertaining. We saw 3 alligators on the nature trail. A great destination for families! Also ideal for foreign tourists to learn more about former farm life in Texas.

Where do I even begin? If you grew up in the Fort Bend area, you likely visited the George Ranch in 4th grade. I never imagined I would have my wedding here. We looked at a few venues around the Sugar Land/Houston area- all costing a fortune with no real benefits. We thought wed see about the George Ranch... upon meeting David we were hooked right away. He was so kind and didnt feed us any BS- straight to the point & took care of all our questions and needs. The cost couldnt be beat. Davids vendors were phenomenal- from the food to the music! As the planning steered more into decor and other fun stuff, we were introduced to the coordinator Chris. He is the BEST. Just like David in that he was also very responsive and took care of everything. Everything I asked for, Chris was right on it. Sending lots of pictures of table settings and ideas. He has such a great eye for decorating and making your visions come true... actually he surpassed my visions. I saw the hall fully decorated when we arrived the day of the wedding after our church ceremony and about cried- it was more beautiful than I could have dreamed. Chris went above and beyond, the hall was gorgeous. The charm of the historic hall really gave our reception that extra special touch. Our guests had nothing but nice things to say- everything from the decor, the food, the bar, and atmosphere was fantastic. David was in attendance and danced with us, while Chris buzzed around making sure everything was perfect and that we always had a drink in our hand. We can never thank David & Chris enough for everything they did to make our wedding so wonderful; they have both really become part of our family. If youre looking for a venue that will genuinely care about you and what you want for your wedding, I highly recommend booking the George Ranch. We wish we could relive that day 100 times over!! Ill have to post more pictures when I get them back from our photographer!

We used George Ranch as a wedding venue. The second I stepped foot on George Ranch Historical Park, I knew it would be the perfect venue for us. They offer an all-inclusive package that literally has everything and anything you could possibly want for your wedding. We decided to use some of our own vendors, for example we hired a pizza food truck, and the workers at George Ranch were so easy to work with and beyond accommodating to our requests. I have to give a special shout out to Chris; he decorated the chapel and reception hall for us and was so easy to talk to and work with. He let us make any changes we wanted, and his wife even helped put together flower bouquets for us. After our small private ceremony Chris drove us around the park with our photographer to get some special shots at the historical sites. Then during the reception, he was actively ensuring everything went to plan and on schedule.

David was so responsive to every (I mean, every) question I had as we coordinated all the wedding things, and he very much put me at ease in knowing all the details were being handled. Chris was also SO hospitable and helpful with all things logistics. The venue is absolutely gorgeous our guests raved about how it was the most aesthetic wedding they ve been to in a while, and how the chapel and hall really felt like a Texas wedding . The vendors recommended by David were outstanding, food was incredible, literally cannot go on enough about this dynamic duo and all their work they put in to ensure a wonderful time. From the bottom of our hearts, Maciej and I thank you both, David and Chris! And we will always, always, hold George Ranch in a special place in our hearts!

Wonderful piece of fortbend history hidden in a beautiful working ranch. You time travel through centuries. You get to see how people in each Era lived and worked. There are 4 houses, each set in different time period. There is a working black Smith shop. And live stock including horses, chicken, pigs, long horns. And you get to ride in a tractor from house to house. There are guides who dressed up like they are from that time. It was a marvelous experience.

If youre interested in getting married at George Ranch then you need to contact David. He is very professional and was very receptive to our wants and needs for our special day. There is a Gazebo if you want an outdoor wedding ceremony, or a Chapel if you want an indoor wedding ceremony. David was kind enough to set up both options for us so if the weather was clear we could have gotten married in the Gazebo, but since it rained we were able to get married in the Chapel. For the reception there is an indoor location, or there is also an outdoor covered pavilion that we chose to use instead. George Ranch also has multiple places for wedding photos on location (both indoors and outdoors). George Ranch is also located in a low traffic and quiet area where you can enjoy your wedding with family and friends. George Ranch is also VERY AFFORDABLE and depending on your wants and needs David can work up a price that is good for you. We chose our own catering service for food, but David does have connections to catering services to get all your meals ready for your big day. Lastly, we chose George Ranch for our wedding instead of Galveston and a bunch of restaurants and banquet halls around Houston. George Ranch is a spot you can definitely enjoy your big day. Photo spots : Gazebo, Chapel, Pavilion, Fields with flowers, Houses, Tree House, Flower Areas, Paths & Walkways, and a bunch of other places we didnt even use. Time: Early morning, mid-day, or late afternoon. Parking: Huge parking lot fits easily over 100 cars and maybe even 200-250. Price: About 1/4 of the price everywhere else was going to charge us. We did have a small wedding and did own own catering. I think the venue for 4 hours was about $600 and then we did our own catering for about $600 also. Lastly, David didnt tell us no a single time. He was very accommodating to our wants and needs. The answer was always yes he could do it.

They have bad attitudes, yelling at students and parents to move, unfriendly, would not answer questions and just didn t seem to like their jobs at all. The field trip was poorly directed and we even missed a huge activity because students and teachers were not given proper direction. I wouldn t go back. Today s trip just kinda put me off. Never saw a food court or cafeteria, so bring your own food.

This is one of the best places to host an event. The park is immaculate and the staff is very friendly. Kristi Farquar who is Director of Sales and Events is very knowledgeable and responds to requests very quickly. I highly recommend them. Melissa

Living history is a wonderful way to learn things and George Ranch gets the immersive aspects rights. Details are wonderful. Lots of walking. We went on a Tuesday in January, and things were pretty trimmed down from normal operations, it seemed. At least one of the exhibits was not manned. The Cafe was not operating, but other reviews make me think that was a good thing. Biggest complaint was visiting Mr. Jones stock farm. The person portraying Mr. Jones was deep into character, probably too deep. He was very knowledgeable but he had very little patience with kids. During his presentation, if my kids squirmed or expressed surprise or wanted to ask a question, he was very curt in demanding quiet until he was ready to entertain questions. At one point, he indicated that he wanted my six year old to leave, because he squealed with excitement when a chicken ran by and Mr. Jones caught it. It was embarrassing for my son. I understand that Mr. Jones was treating the cabin as his own, and expecting all of us to do the same, but he seems to have forgotten that we were paying guests. Additionally, there was no warning or information regarding the expected behavior of the kids. Now, on the plus side, he patiently answered all of my other kids questions, and spoke with us at length about his life However, he basically ruined the visit to his farm for my youngest kid, and so upset my wife and me with his rudeness, that it was difficult to enjoy the other exhibits.

The Historical park is a beautiful location outside of Houston. They have a collections of houses that tell the history of the area and the start of Texas. The staff and volunteers are very knowledge, friendly and excited to share the history. Such a marvelous place.

Loved the Texian Days!!! Took my 16 and 21 year old sons out to tour the houses, watch the battles, experience the rich history of the high school that bears the name of the working ranch they have graduated from and attend currently. The stories and activities were fantastic and the tours in each house gives you a perspective on time pieces. The working ranch is still a working ranch and they have a tram to carry you from house to house if you need a lift.

Love it here. We went on a super slow weekday and there was barely anyone else there. It was great! A little hot but the tram they have helps out a lot with that. Very helpful staff and volunteers. Everyone was very sweet and informative. Sat with some of the staff and chatted for quite a while. It was really nice. We will definitely be back! Glad to have something like this so close to home. Love the self paced atmosphere and tons of historical facts and information. Cant wait to go back when its not 90+ degrees so we can walk more than wait for the tram.

Went for the Texian Market Days with great battle reenactments on Jones Stock Farm with Santa Ana and Polly Ryons brush with the Civil War battle. There were many dressed up characters for interactive activities, tours and displays. We toured 5 houses, watched cattle demonstrations, and enjoyed the cannons. The ranch has an awesome history and captures true Texan ranch history.

Ehh. For $40 entry fee for my wife and myself I expected a little more. The houses are nice to see, but if not that interesting. I enjoyed spending my day with my wife but could have done that at Brazos Park where we were intending to go or anywhere else. My main complaint is the entry fee. $20 for both and bit $40 and I would have been ok with it. Still I probably wont be back.

Neat place to learn Texas history and see a real ranch in action. Make sure to visit all stations/stops and make sure to see the cows jump in the bath! Very entertaining. Ask about lunch events too- great food and fun facts presented by the staff.

Interesting place with historical buildings from various eras of the George family. The tractor can take you around or you can walk. There are horses, cows, pigs and chickens to see and old tools and machines. Be prepared to spend at least half a day in the ranch. Each house has a person taking you around and explaining the history.
