Decided to get a burger today and found this spot. Idk if this is the norm, but you seat yourself. The staff seemed friendly and were all smiles. My waiteress was polite and did check on me a few times. Food: 1/2 order of cheese fries. Can I say l like they used shredded cheese instead of cheese sauce as the fries were not soggy and I could take my time eating them. It was served with ranch, but Im more of a sour cream girl. The Tailgater burger. Really nice bun and burger combo. You need two hands to eat and napkins. Id be nice if it was served w the secret sauce as the bun absorbed it all. I added an egg to mine which was cooked right! Drink: Ruby Mule. Now Im not a heavy drinker, but it was light on the alcohol content and Id rather have stuck with just drinking water or ordered a soda. As this is my 1st time here, idk if was random or if thats the standard. Ambiance: Its sorta an indoor out door place. Really appreciated that they had fans and water misters. Even tho it was 101, if felt warm with a lovely breeze. I did not sweat if feel uncomfortable even though I was in the outdoor seating. Theres a good sized tree too that provides shade. Overall would def come back for a burger, hold the drinks.

Lots of MSG, definitely salty, it was good, 2 drinks later I could start to feel my mouth getting back to normal, hours later all I could taste was salt, but Im also not a fan of salty, or MSG. The service was great. If I go again, Im definitely going to ask to hold, well you know. Good food doesnt need it. What I could taste outside of salt, which wasnt much definitely didnt need it.

Took the family to Shadys tonight. Not the first time and not the last time, but possibly the first time that I have reviewed the experience...and tonight I am compelled because of our server (more on that later). This is a good review. Our most recent visit was on a Monday night at about 6pm. As expected, the restaurant was fairly busy, but not so much so that we couldnt just walk in and grab an outdoor shaded table with views of the Olympics and MLB on TV. The atmosphere was just as you would expect...welcoming and warm and clean. The drinks, starters, and burgers were as dependable and tasty as usual. The big deal tonight was our server. First of all, he was about 7 feet in height. We very quickly moved past that because he was right on top of server duties. To be quick - he brought us waters, took our drink order, came back and took care of starters and dinner orders. He was extra attentive without being weird or intrusive. Totally great in accommodating a couple of special orderings on our part. However, the icing on the cake, was that late in the meal, we ordered an extra meal for my Celiac daughter who was joining toward the end of our dinner experience. We ordered a burger on a gluten free bun and fries...he was very quick to let us know that the fries would be cooked in a fryer that did not discriminate between gluten and gluten free. He went so far as to let us know that the fries could be a concern for people with Celiac. He might be the very first server, at any restaurant around the country, that we have encountered in the past twelve years who connected gluten free with Celiac! He was very considerate and even presented the to go meal in separate bags so as to not cross contaminate the gluten free burger with the fries. I cant say enough how about how appreciative we were to have a knowledgeable, thoughtful, and generous server. Go check out Shadys if you are in Canyon Creek. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free burger buns that hold up. Parking: Easy to park on the obvious days and times. Kid-friendliness: Tons of kids and plenty of room to let them roam and have fun. Wheelchair accessibility: I dont recall that there would have been an issue for wheelchairs.

The food was very very good for the price point. Solid delivery on the Tailgater burger. It was cooked to perfection and very delicious but nothing fancy (not a problem at all though!). However, the shining star was the cheese fries!! The fries underneath the cheese were perfectly crispy!!! This is a difficult feat to achieve and I have had some of the best cheese fries on this planet (unfortunately, before I started reviewing restaurants lol). I didn t go all the way with bacon and jalapeños this time but I don t think it mattered. Hands down some of the best cheese fries ever! I will be going back soon to try some more of the menu. The service was excellent! The woman I had was very nice, pleasant and accommodating. The atmosphere is laid back (as a good burger joint SHOULD be. There are TVs at the bar area which did host some repeat locals from the looks of it. I highly recommend checking this place out!

We have been dining here for years, but it occurred to me on a recent visit how lucky Lake Highlands residents are to have a locally-owned, reasonably-priced casual restaurant just minutes from home.Great burgers and sandwiches, fresh salads, cool drinks and more in an open environment with attentive service.On our most recent visit, we enjoyed an order of Cooper s tacos and a Slim Shady burger in a bowl. Food and atmosphere were good but service is a bit lacking. Our water cups were not well cleaned and have oil residue floating around and our waiter not once asked if everything is okay or switched out our drinks. My husband and friends ordered beers and had to remind the waitress twice before getting their beers. Hopefully, the service will be better if we decide to visit again in the future.

Shadys is a semi-open air bar & restaurant on Custer, tucked away from the tollway in a quiet, shady part of town. Its a nice place for lunch, especially when the weather is nice. The price is reasonable, and the food is good. Ive had their burger, and their Marg Chicken salad, which were both good. Its a great lunch spot to chill for a while.

Ive been working in Richardson for the past year. Sky Rocket, Kennys and here are the best burgers Ive had in the area. You want Instagramable burgers that actually taste good? Kennys. You want no frills, impeccable grind mix? Sky Rocket. You want the best of both? Shadys. Solid regular menu great blend and seasonings, and always an interesting special of the month. Their chicken sando, wraps, and salads are amazing too. Fantastic spot for a legit local vibe, good service - which can be slower at peak hours, but that should be expected anywhere - and in spite of that, they all still make you feel seen. I dont mind if something takes a bit longer, especially during a busy night, but the fact that EVERY time Ive been here, the servers have let us know we were still on their radar and I appreciate that. Daniel behind the bar is awesome. I was craving a white Russian (they dont have cream) and he improvised with some of their ice cream for their shakes as a substitute. Nailed it. If youve never been here, you need to try it. Fried pickles when fresh.. chefs kiss Seriously. If you havent been, get here. These people get it. Kid-friendliness: Yes, this place is kid friendly, but maybe its indicitive of the parents or the nights that Ive been here.... Ive never experienced issues with screaming kids, or the opposite, an atmosphere that would make me hesitant to bring my own here (if I had any)

Food was good and service was good. We had the blue cheese burger; fish tacos and chicken kids meal. The chicken was good, but not really kid friendly it was large fried tenders. The burger and the tacos were good; the tortillas weren t the best. It s so easy to get good tortillas here that it was disappointing they weren t better. The chocolate shake was a hit. The birthday cake shake was good. Loved the patio. They have a beautiful large tree shading the patio. It was so nice to be outside in the shade. The one downside is that the server didn t tell us there was an extra charge for extra blue cheese. Felt like she should mention that. It s a nice thing to tell someone up front. [11/2023][$30] I ordered fish and chips. They were very tasty with fantastic fries and sauces. I think it was only $13. The big place was at least 65% full on the night the Rangers Won! the World Series. We got there when the baseball was just starting. The waitress was very nice and the restaurant felt very cozy and comfortable. Our food was fantastic and had great value. The service was fantastic, and our food was no more expensive than some hole in the wall greasy burger joint we went recently. People were in good mood. This is good business and good restaurant.

I consider Shadys burgers to be one of the best burger spots in the Dallas area. The reason being that they combine great food, along with fantastic service, and an amazing atmosphere. One of my absolute favorite traits is that the burgers are not dripping with grease! It s has some of course. But the bottom bun is very dry, giving the burger a very clean feel. Secondly, their service is top notch. Even when the place gets busy, the servers are constantly checking in. The food always comes out fast and our orders have always been accurate. For reference I ve been going here 3-4 times per month for 2+ years! Lastly, their patio is one of my favorites in Richardson and Dallas as a whole. They can keep it cool, warm it up, or mitigate the wind. Even on a hot day it is usually enjoyable. But if it is not, they have the a/c pumping inside and will set up giant fans if need be. It s also really nice not being near a major street. Many great patios around town are ruined by a nearby highway or busy street. This patio feels much more secluded. Their vast selection of entrees, appetizers, and beers keeps me coming back to try something new. Every time I try a new plate I m always glad I did! They also have great lunch specials. Lastly, it has the advantage of being in Canyon Creek Village which has a ton of great places to go. After Shady s we often get dessert at Sweet Firefly and/or play in the small park in the center of the area. I can t recommend this place enough! Vegetarian options: There is a vegan burger along with wrap options. Parking: It can get crowded every now and then. But more often than not I have no problem parking close by. Kid-friendliness: Being indoor/outdoor, it is good for kids. That way they can be a little loud without you having to stress out about upsetting everyone.

Shadys is one of our absolute favorite places to dine. With the dog-friendly patio, it helps us take our pups and tire them out a little bit here and there. The food is always great, service is great (the servers are so nice, many have become friends), and prices are reasonable, especially during happy hour (3-6). Even the owners are great. Im incredibly happy I stumbled across this hidden gem. Easily one of the best burgers Ive found in Dallas. Fries and onion rings are great, and I absolutely loved my chorizo burger. The only negative was my wifes burger was a bit dry but I think that was due to asking for medium instead of medium rare on our end. Pro tip, order one side per two people. We didnt come close to finishing our fries.

I came here for a lunch with a coworker and the restaurant has a great atmosphere. The service was fast and they had an extensive menu. I got the French fries and the patty melt. Both of which were delicious. My coworker got the Philly cheesesteak and the tater tots and was equally pleased. Ingredients were fresh and the meal was made to the order. We got it to go but this is such a cute place and I would love to dine in when I have more time to! The food was so delicious and everyone was so sweet and helpful. My family and I were having a rough day due to a plumbing issue and coming here made our day!

Great food and an open atmosphere. Belly up to the bar or hang out on the open-air deck. I usually go for the Shady Burger while my wife enjoys the Club Shady. I have to admit when I am not being good, I go for the fried pickles.

Walked in lady greeted me as I walked in , she asked me dine in or carry out. Dine in please, she said great have a seat anywhere you like. Ok I sat on patio, and sat and sat and sat .No One I mean Not not one server took my order. Table never got cleaned or anything. IT WAS NOT CRAZY BUSY. People walked in after me and well.... they got their order taken. I sat 20 mins. Thank you Shadys for the experience and now I know where NOT TO GO AND NOT TO RECOMMEND to ANYBODY.... PEOPLE DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!!

I cant believe this was my first time here - it was great! The fried Pickens were really crispy, but they were also too salty for my taste. Positives: Great burger place. Amazing service, even with a big party. Came here on my brothers school spirit night, so it was really noisy, but Im not counting that against them. The patio is great, fans if its hot, lights if its hot, closed off sections. They have a bar and its nice and open outside for kids to run around. Neutrals: Giant burgers, the staff wear their own clothes. The only negative: the floor on the patio bounces if anyone anywhere on it moves. Im really being a critic here, this is an amazing place. Got a tee. Vegetarian options: There is a non-meat burger. Kid-friendliness: Large patio for kids to run around on.

I had the Patty Melt and onion rings...enough to share or have 2 meals off of....we all shared the fried jalapeno rings....enough for 5 to share. Others had the original burgers....able to have 2 meals with...the Buffalo chicken wrap was also enough for 2 to share with tater tots. The childrens hot dog came with fries and a cookie. The boys each had a shake....Funfetti cake flavor and a caramel pretzel flavor. The frozen margaritas were great! All at a decent price with great service! A fantastic place to meet after morning soccer games and before baseball games started up. We sat on the open patio. Beautiful day!!

Experienced some microaggresions here today. The waitress would ignore me if she could. She would come to all her tables to apologize for how late the food is coming, asking if their food is alright, basically giving everyone else good service but me. And Im only POC in her section. Its a lovely feeling when you spend ur money then feeling like they wouldnt wanna serve u. Im no longer supporting this restaurant from now on.

Burgers are great, great open air place to eat. Only bad thing i have to say that one of the waiters took my plate while I was eating from it still, didnt ask if I was done or anything. Thats the most disrespectful thing done to me. Not coming back
