Its been awhile (before the lockdown) since Ive visited The House. It was a great place to eat on Sundays after worship at GACC. It fell off my radar after streaming services, etc. Years later, I had a hankering for a homestyle meal and BAM!, The House flooded my memories. Fast forward, July 2024, the fault was mine, not theirs. Its good to go home to The House. I cant recommend the Liver & Onions highly enough. Melt in your mouth, impeccably seasoned, cooked to perfection, and to top that off, 1, 2, 3 sides. If it werent 4 in the morning, I would be on my way NOW! Get in The House as soon as you can. (They start cleaning up around 1:30; do NOT even try to drop in any later.) I wish I could comment on dessert, but I didnt get that far ) Vegetarian options: Baked potato, salad, broccoli Parking: Office park setting, limited shaded parking

Always feels like I went to my grandmas to eat breakfast, and her friends are always so nice to me. The food is fresh, honest, wholesome, and delicious. I love that they open super early and its so tucked away from the all the ruckus. One of my favorite spots. I always get the migas and the pancakes are amazing.

Best scrambled eggs Ive had at a restaurant! You might be thinking: Scrambled eggs are so simple that a child could make them, but seriously the eggs were cooked perfectly and the taste was fresh! Bacon was delicious and the waffle a perfect golden brown. So yah, I could make this myself, but Im happy my husband treated me to a wonderful meal. Thank you The House Cafe for an excellent dining experience!

Extremely disappointed. We have eaten here before and either they have new policy for food but portion for money spent not worth your time. Omelets look like scrambled eggs and hashbrown portion was 1/2 portion and a very thin flat layer that they were no soft potatoe it was completely all crispy over cooked hashbrown. We were very disappointed and felt like we were stiff on our meal

The food was ok, nothing extraordinary. The waitress was ok too. When asking for substitutions or add ons, it would be nice if they tell you the cost associated with it and not just yes we could do that then uncharge it. Probably wont return as nothing was special or stood out about this place.

Awful. The eggs tasted like rubber, bacon tasted like it was cooked out of a microwave.... booths hurt your back literally. My lower back is still in pain...service not so great. Ask if we want more coffee after we were ready to leave. Also they didnt have a kid menu. So my 6 year old had to order a big portion. Never coming back.

It is an older restaurant, it was loud, the floors were dirty from dropped food. We had eggs which were ok but the English muffin was rubbery like it was heated up in microwave. When we were checking out you could see into the kitchen and saw food that was pre cooked and sitting out. If you are looking for home cooking this is not the place. Everything was frozen food.

I just gave a one star, first time coming, and will never come back again. It went all well would like to give 5 stars to the young lady standing, she greeted with a big smile amd always was nice. Until we had our waitress, she had an attitude and felt rushed, she didnt get my dads order and waited for her to.pass by and I told her to get his order, then she comes up with I thought you where not eating sir. Too me that was amoung rude. And I didnt appreciate at all. With that it triggered me. Just ask the smiling youg lady that I just wanted to pay for the drinks, and she did her job too call the waitress came back and all I said I wanted to pay for the drinks so the waitress just rolled her eyes at me. She doesnt even have good customer service at all. Very disappointing will never be back. Just because the waitress with the 2 braids!!!!! Her name is Roseie. She shouldnt even be working there at all if she is going yo be acting like that.

I have been a long time, occasional customer of the House Cafe in east Richardson. I am reducing my 5 stars to 4 because the last couple of times we have eaten there the food has barely been tepid. The oatmeal was not warm enough, the toast was so cold it would not melt the butter. I dont know if our food is sitting and waiting to be brought to our table without any heat lamps or what? The service staff has been very attentive. I do appreciate the staff closing the Bowser doors during cold weather. Parking: Most drivers are skilled enough to back in to their parking spots but parking can be tight when the after church crowd starts showing up on Sunday morning.

I was here just under two weeks ago with my Grandma after we we tried to come several weeks earlier, only to find out we showed up roughly 45 minutes after closing. I didnt know about this place until my Grandma pointed it out, but Im glad we went to it! I wasnt sure of what to expect before walking in, but the vast menu and employees service were wonderful. After trying the chicken-fried steak with sides of fruit, bread rolls, and fried okra, Id gladly return to and recommend stopping by the House Cafe if youre hungry in central east Richardson!

Hole-in-the-wall place with cheap food. They apparently do not know how to poach eggs because the two people at my table who ordered Eggs Benedict received soft-boiled eggs. The rest of the food was good for the price point, but nothing to go out of your way to try. Parking: The parking lot is an L-shape around the storefront. There are approximately 30 tables, so you can estimate how full the restaurant is by the parking lot. Kid-friendliness: Not an entertaining place for kids, more along the lines of very senior adults getting their breakfast on. Wheelchair accessibility: Not very accessible, but if you really want to get in there, you can.

Service got a 4 because it is seat yourself and it took them a few minutes to get to us. We will be back for sure! Parking: Got to park in the shade for the time of day I was there. Well the cashier/ manager women today was awful. We had a party of 9 (4 small kids high chairs boosters) and she broke us up to 2 tables as she said she doesn t like to have any big parties. Not for fire hazard no law in Richardson. We were there last mos party of 7 and they didn t allow us to sit together then as well. The woman owner/ manager makes up these rules on the spot . The food is basic , nothing special and some waiters r fantastic and many r not happy to be there . The vicinity made this our go to place but since the manager was so awful to us last few times I m never going there again. The food is same as u cooking at home . I guess I ll be taking my biz to poor Richardson cafe or another breakfast place that has superb customer service . Shame on you guys

Im giving House Cafe 5 stars, not for exquisite cuisine or decor, but because they deliver exactly what you expect, each and every time. A full, hearty breakfast; quick hot, and as ordered. Priced a smidge below most of their competitors. Served by a friendly, attentive wait person. Nothing fancy or pretentious. My favorite is the number 3 - thick waffle, 2 eggs over medium, bacon. Over medium is over once, yolks set but not cooked hard, whites fully cooked. Bacon is crispy. Waffle is crispy on the outside, tender inside. Warm salsa on request. The coffe is straight forward with plenty of cream available. This is all I ask from a breakfast place. Their BLTs are also great. Set off Bowser in an industrial/commercial park. I drove past this place daily for years before trying it out. Dont let your perception of the outside influence your decision to eat inside. You will miss a good meal.

I never wrote reviews, but feel obligated to write one for here. Food is decent, place is somewhat clean. The cashier is so unfriendly it is a sight to see. If you make any substitutions, like I substituted bacon in a breakfast burrito for potato - the price triples, no joke. Last time I checked bacon was more expensive than potatoes. When I inquired about this not only did I get a death stare from the cashier, a cook came out to I guess intimidate me to shut up about it. So I paid and wont ever go back. Just an awful business, feel bad for the staff that works there.

Today I went to the house cafe for the 1st time and I would love to give this place 5 stars because the food was delicious. Bacon was crispy, eggs were fluffy and the French toast was perfection. Unfortunately I will only give 3 stars because of the service. Upon sitting down we were greeted by a passive aggressive waitress who became dismissive after I told her I needed to look at the drink menu before I ordered a beverage. She then went on to loudly inform the other staff that those two don t know what they want to drink . After the 3rd time of this I spoke up and told her we re ready now. She stuttered and mumbled ok but never bothered to come back. Thankfully a much kinder and professional waitress took over after the 1st one never returned and took our order respectfully. It only took one rude employee to ruin what would otherwise have been a wonderful dining experience and a 5 star rating.

Im a little confused at the glowing reviews of this place. I had an omlette with hashbrowns it was decent. The biscuits were horrible, heavy, and hard as a rock. Got my daughter chicken tenders. Her whole meal was out of a frozen bag. It wasnt very good at all. With as many good restaurants there are, I dont understand how ones like this survive. Serving low quality food where everything is out a can, box, or bag. Correct me if I am wrong but mashed potatoes and gravy both definitely from a box. Corn from a can. Fries and tenders definitely frozen. Biscuits I think they are frozen but not sure. Never had a frozen biscuit that was so bad. It wasnt expensive but also not as cheap as the quality of food produced.

Your small town breakfast, lunch cafe. Good service, clean, biscuits good, eggs perfect, bacon crispy. Only complaint is the gravy tastes like milk and flour and a bit thick. Secret to good gravy is to make it NOT taste like flour. Maybe add a bit of that bacon or sausage grease. Youd be amazed! Oh, maybe light background music would be welcomed. $13+ with tax. I find that somewhat pricey.

LOVE LOVE their breakfast menu! Lunch portions were comical. Corn served in a to-go dressing container. 1 tablespoon, maybe. And the mashed potatoes small ice cream scoop size portion. Come for the breakfast, stay away from the lunch.

The food was good, service was good and prices were great. We were in town overnight and just did a Google search. Weve gone to Maple leaf diner but the wait is always long. Not here. Seems like more locals here than tourists and we like that. Well definitely be back. Parking: Plenty of parking Kid-friendliness: Definitely kid friendly Wheelchair accessibility: There arent any steps besides the sidewalk going into the building

This was my first time going here today with my husband . We were both very impressed with this place. This place tastes like truly home cooked breakfast. My over easy eggs I got today were perfect done , the bacon was pretty crispy & the hash brown were perfect . The sweet tea was excellent and it s already sweet. I hate it went other places don t sweet it up already. It make a big difference when already sweet. Also the pricing was very very reasonable as well here. My husband already is planning us returning here again next week .

The food here is some of the best food Ive had in a while. The texture was perfect on my pancakes. Even my wife enjoyed their food a lot. The prices here extremely reasonable and the staff is super friendly. This is a diner I must recommend. Try this place, Im sure youll enjoy it as much as we did.

It started out wrong but to give it the benefit of doubt we stayed. When we came inside the restaurant we were seated in the rear of restaurant. We passed by several tables in front. I noticed other people came in after and they had a choice of seating. The food was not good. I ordered the smothered chicken and it was not smothered with gravy it had cheese and onion. The salad was okay and the baked potato wasnt hot to melt the cheese. The best item was the okra and water. Our waitress Eren tried to be nice but I could tell she had little to no experience of being a waitress. Then at checkout the lady that took my payment was not friendly at all. I will not recommend this place to anyone and I plan on telling everyone that I know please dont go there.

Sevice was excellent ! Had a bit of a wait on Sund morning, but that was to be expected. Food came out quick enough. I ordered simple, 2 eggs O.E., sausage, on top of biscuit n gravy. Sausage was overcooked, not quite like a hockey puck, but way over done. O.E. eggs should be runny in my mind. Yolks were squishy but far from runny. Biscuit was pretty hard even with gravy on it. While the overcooking took the quality down, the quantity was low as well....IMO they use small eggs. My breakfast included a small spoonful of home fries. Prices were pretty high for breakfast..... Price to value is upside down. Judys is just down the road...and you can have pie with your breakfast. First Watch is not far away if you want a more eclectic chain type breakfast.

Havent been back in over four years and judging from these reviews, Ive definitely been dodging the b.s. Service was trash from the first time I went til the third and final. At least they were consistent with poor service. A coworker referred me to them and I cussed him out when I got back to work. I walked in the door and seen what looked like at least ten workers and not one time was I greeted. After five minutes of standing at counter waiting, the older Spanish lady talked to me as if I was bothering her. If I hadnt walked there and already starving I would have left without food. Ill never go back, especially since I received similar treatment the next time I went thinking maybe they were just stressed that day. I work down the same street and will continue to pass them up each and every day.
