I came in on a Wednesday morning around 8:45 am and had both the cold and hot sweet potato lattes both were absolutely delicious! My waiter, Tess, was excellent, and everyone else who helped me was just as amazing. The food runners who brought the drinks and food were so cheerful, and I noticed that even the employees in the back were smiling. The ambiance and vibe in this place are incredibly comfortable and uplifting. I originally just came in for coffee and a croissant, but I ended up staying for over an hour, enjoying a full meal including chilaquiles. Highly recommend LaCasita Bakeshop in Richardson, TX!

The Aztec chocolate corn cake is so authentic. I can practically hear the ancient Mayans chanting as I eat it. Its like a time machine for my taste buds. This creation is more of a worthy sacrifice than when they chopped each others heads off for the sun God. The chef behind this dish is going places with this absolute creative, inspirational pastry

Definitely recommend this spot for their coffee, breakfast, and gluten free baked goods options. The only down side is that I wish they had MORE of the GF options!! :) They were sold out of one item I would ve liked to try so get there early if you re looking for something specific. The staff was very kind and helpful. I appreciated the chill vibe. Prices were fair and the restaurant was well-kept with creative decor. They obviously take pride in their business and we will be back to dine in again! Dietary restrictions: Gluten friendly options. Kid-friendliness: We did not have our kids with us but we saw lots of kids there of varying ages.

LaCasita is our favorite bakery in the area, and my biggest flex on out of town friends is saying it s my neighborhood bakery. The coffees are divine and no such thing as a bad pastry from this place but the best items are the chilaquiles croissant, corn cookies (usually in the fall, but don t miss these!) and literally any flavor of canales. Sandwiches are amazing. I can t complain about anything apart from the amount of $$$ I ve spent here since being in Richardson almost 3 years. Love you, LaCa!

I ve been visiting La Casita about once a month for almost 2 years (thanks monthly pastry menu!). I ve tried their pastries, bread, sandos, breakfast, and ordered pastry catering for a party. I wish they could prepare my breakfast every morning (LOVED my soft scrambled eggs and I m not even a big fan of eggs) and feed me dessert every day. Thankfully, I have SOME sense of self-control and don t go as often as I d really like to go, but I do find any excuse to go. Maricsa and her team work magic in that kitchen. I also want to give a shoutout to Elizabeth, their Events and Catering Specialist, for working with me to get mini cookies and brownies for my recent baby shower - see y all again for my next event! If you haven t tried LCB yet, just do it. You know you want to.

1st time visit Saturday 9/7/24. I am impressed with the variety of the menu. But. I got the ham and cheese quiche. Taste was ok, but it was just barely cooked thru. The sour dough toast I had was awesome, even though when I asked for it, I wasnt told it was a separate cost. As good as the toast was, however, it was worth it. I got a cinnamon roll to go so didnt really look close at it until later. It was delicious, as well as the icing. However, it was a whole lot smaller than I figured it would be... maybe 1.5? I had anticipated a bit larger for $3.50. The everything bagel is awesome, which I also got to go. Also, i got the crispy potato sandwich to go. Id have to try it again at the restaurant to tell you if it was good. Even reheating each ingredient in a fry pan didnt make it good. Service was great for the 4 of us, except I was never offered a water refill, which is all I had to drink. This could be a dangerous place for bread lovers like myself.

Cute bakeshop with good coffee and pastries. I ordered the sweet potato latte, chicken Tikka masala sandwich, and some pastries. The latte was really good and I enjoyed the sweet potato flavor it had. While the sandwich was good I didnt think there was anything special about it, but the chicken was crispy and I liked the Tikka masala sauce on it. The pastries I got were the churro cruffin, ham and cheese croissant, and pesto croissant. I would come back for the coffee and pastries as they were the highlight of the place. The pastries were flaky and crispy on top. I would recommend any of the pastries I ordered.

What good does it do your business to have snarky employees that act as if you re ruining their day by being a patron. 4/5 experience becomes a 1/5 instantly. On the right is a cinnamon roll, dry as can be. On the left is a pesto Parmesan savory pastry which is exceptional I must say.

I came here a few times for their drinks. I love their Turkish Coffee, Salted Honey Matcha and Albuelita Mocha. This was my first dine in/brunch experience. Drinks were excellent as always. But the food were not as great as I expected . I came here because of The Best Breakfast award from D Magazine, so my expectation was too high, I guess. French toast had a great coffee taste, but soggy, not crisp in the outside like the french toast should be. Chocolate croissant.. this is interesting. The coffee shop near my home sells Chocolate Croissant from La Casita that I love because it is always fresh!!! But why, when I got it from this original La Casita location, the croissant was dry and stale??? The churro Croffin that has high rating, also dry. I gave the stars for the creativity, service and drinks. But the food and pastries are not consistently great.

I bought over $30 worth and the cashier wanted to put it in one bag on top of each other like I was buying $2 doughnuts. SMH. They couldn t find the proper packaging and had the audacity to have a self-righteous attitude while my 3 mins trip to get coffee took over 10 mins bc the staff didn t know what kinda of packaging had in stock. SMH great service can only truly be experienced when things go awry, bc it s easy to be nice to someone when everything is going smoothly. But how do you treat someone when things are going wrong? Not only did I wait almost 10 mins just to get my purchase packaged properly, the person who made my drink was sour as well. As if I was to blame for wanting my purchase packaged properly. You don t put high end pastries on top of each other in a bag!

Very cute and cozy coffee shop and restaurant. I actually love seeing all the bakers and parts of the bakery. Theres lots of seating (informal and formal) so you can sit and chat over coffee or at a table and order a meal. They do offer 1 vegan pastry and a couple of gluten free pastries (although I would say these are still probably not safe for celiac due to high possibility of cross contamination). Their coffee is absolutely amazing though and they are very aware of whats in their syrup which is helpful!

I have been eating the delicious pastries from La Casita since 2018 and the food is always absolutely amazing. But I felt compelled to post a review today (which I almost never do) due to the absolutely superb service we received at our most recent breakfast out. We came in with 4 little ones aged 4 and under. The staff were incredibly accommodating from the start - grabbing high chairs, bringing out crayons and kids menus to color. Unfortunately one of the littles spilled her chocolate milk, making a huge mess on the table and floor. Our amazing waiter (I m so sorry I can t remember his name because he deserves a shout out!) immediately came over and helped clean everything up with such a kind disposition. He immediately placed an order for another chocolate milk AND if that weren t enough brought over (unasked) 2 little cookies to comfort our little one who was feeling super sad and embarrassed due to the accident. I was just so impressed with how they go above and beyond and how welcome we felt as a family with small kids. Thanks yall!

First, the good: the service. The staff was incredibly welcoming and warm. I came solo with two young children, and the hostess helped open the door for me and my server went above and beyond. To any mom with young kids, this is worth its weight in gold. At the end of our breakfast, I ordered some pastries to go. I thought the boxes were quite large for the order I had placed, but didnt think much of it. When I got home, I was pleasantly surprised that they had given me a bunch of extras to try out! What a nice surprise!!!! Five starts for service! Now the bad: the food is just ho hum, especially the pastries. This is the second time Ive visited and felt hugely underwhelmed across the board, which is SO surprising! Ever since living abroad, Ive been on the hunt for a great bakery with amazing croissants and sourdough bread. Im evening willing to drive 30+ minutes on a highway multiple times a week to find my spot, but this place doesnt deliver. The croissants tasted tough and bread-ish, not flaky, crisp, or tender. The flavor was also lacking, like poor butter or flour quality possibly?! The pop tart dough was soggy, and many of the other items like the pesto parm croissant just felt greasy, like the butter had leaked out of the dough. Also the ham and cheese croissant felt like the actual ham and cheese was nonexistent. On my first visit to La Casita, I had thought maybe the croissants had just gotten stale quickly or lost their crunch in the heat during transport, but thats just not the case. I was in Paris two weeks ago, went to a standard corner bakery and ordered 2 pain au chocolats and brought them back on a 10 hr plane ride. I got in at 4 pm and gave them to my children and husband the next morning for breakfast and they were still DELICIOUS! If I can travel home with croissants and serve them 24 hrs later, surely La Casitas should last a drive across the metroplex! Presumably, its not the drive but the products themselves from the get go. Now the bread. Yes, it tastes better than the pastries, but they wrap the loaves in plastic bags that trap the steam inside them, making the loaves weepy, obliterating any possibility of a delicious crunchy crust emblematic of a great sourdough! Why?! Also, the bread is just not my cup of tea. Im on the hunt for a sourdough bread that has larger air bubbles scattered about, like what comes to mind of the bread from Tartine in San Fransisco. This is not the type of bread that La Casita is serving. That said, this might be what they are going for. With breakfast... it was okay, but nothing to write home about. For the kids menu, I am really surprised that they are serving a fruit cup in plastic (think Dole fruit cup). If you dont want to serve real fruit (Its costly, I get it!), please find a more creative alternative. Nowadays, moms want their kids to eat fresh food too! Also, when the menu says pancakes with maple syrup, I assume real maple syrup. Most other places will just write pancakes and omit any mention of syrup on a menu if its the artificial stuff, but when you go out of your way to print maple syrup, I think its a bit misleading. The kids pancakes also tasted like they were made with bisquick mix. If I was headed to my local greasy spoon breakfast spot, I wouldnt think much of it, but not here. Overall, I think I was just expecting a more artisanal experience. I will say the coffee was great! In the end, I write this all with the hope that ownership can really reevaluate their products, so that we can all have access to a better bakeshop in greater Dallas! In the meantime, Ill still be hunting for something better.

Hannah, our server quickly got our drink order and guided us through some things on the menu we were unfamiliar with. The food was DE. LI. CIOUS i personally had the Tikka Masala Sandwich & i could not get enough of it. My eyes almost rolled back with that first bite. We also got to try several of the specialty pastries and MY GOODNESS . I literally closed my eyes and raised my hands when I bit into the Mango Basque Cheesecake. The manager Jesus stopped by our table and was so kind & shared some of the history behind the bakery. We laughed bc my friends and I were all wearing Hawaiian shirts and that is the owner s favorite fashion choice. Alex (the owner) came over and was very sweet and hospitable as well.

And then there is the food. The cinnamon rolls, cruffins, and croissants already set the bar high, and then their themed monthly specials surpass that! Their limited-time-only pastries incorporate food trends, seasonal ingredients, and encourage food exploration with a number of cultural references that range from Mexico to the Asian diaspora, the tropics, and beyond. It s inspiring. It is impossible for me to visit and not leave without a big box (or two). The contents never last long. Bussin all day, as the kids say. Brunch here is also a treasure. I love that I can enjoy a meal that the food-nerd in me appreciates for its flavor innovation and technical execution in a casual, non-stuffy atmosphere. I also love that I can bring friends and family who aren t as adventurous, and there s something delicious for them too. Jesus also shared that there are weekly brunch specials, each of which give me FOMO (I SO wish I had been in town the week they served kimchi carbonara!) Today it was cherry clafoutis, which enveloped us in its warm, custardy pudding of a hug. Tess brought the drama with a generous pour of vanilla bean crème anglaise to finish just before we dug in. I mean It is clear that Maricsa and team incorporate the values of diversity, kindness, inclusion, and belonging in everything they do. As if all of the above weren t enough delicious reasons to continue to visit, this crew alone cements their place in my heart and as part of my community. One special request - can the canelés come back? They were the BEST and I don t know anybody else that makes them in DFW. Vegetarian options: The vegetarian options are hearty and satisfying. I ve had the veggie hash and the mushroom toast and both are delicious. Dietary restrictions: We were asked if anybody at our table had any dietary restrictions none did, but it was a considerate gesture. Parking: Large parking lot, easy to access. Kid-friendliness: Loved that a kid menu and lots of crayons were supplied, and kids were treated so kindly.

My favorite place in the Dallas area to go to for brunch! Last time we went, our server gave us so many great recommendations, everything we ve had there has been amazing. My personal favorite is the mushroom toast and the chilaquiles. Sometimes there is a little bit of a wait but this is a perfect excuse to get a pastry and coffee at the coffee bar while you wait, and the seating area is very comfortable and cozy. I can t emphasize how good the service is, the manager came by our table to let us know about the seasonal pastry menu and gave us some to try. I can t wait for them to open another location! They re great.

If you are contemplating a visit, stop wasting time and JUST GO. I have had the pleasure of being a patron since their early pre-order only days and have loved watching this business flourish. Whether its a quick pop in for a salted honey matcha(the cold foam and little flecks of vanilla bean make me so happy) or a more luxurious brunch visit with friends, coming in is always worthwhile, and actually necessary because of the seasonal pastry menu. Im so lucky to have this amazing business in my backyard. Shout out to front of house manager, Jesus for the amazing hospitality and conversation today at brunch. I will always be back and bringing more friends along the way.

This is honestly the best brunch/lunch place that Ive ever been to, and I dont say that lightly. The food, bakery items, and staff are out of this world. Martina assisted us today and was great, the perfect amount of attentive and lovely friendly. She said the new blackberry basil spritz was her favorite, so we had to get that. She was not wrong; all of their drinks, particularly the new addition of spritzes are flavorful and fun. I love how they try new things and keep tinkering until its just right. The entire staff is welcoming; It feels like home.

Tried a cinnamon roll and it was not good. Faintly small. Icing was decent and had cream cheese flavor but it was too thick and just a blob randomlh sitting on top of the roll. The breading was also very dry. Top of the roll was also blistered from heat like it was a dinner roll or.something. would not be surprised if they just used the same dough to save money and time. Bro this is a sweet baked product, not a dinner roll. Ive had softer and fluffier dinner rolls too. Seemed like there was close to zero butter. Also there was barely even any cinnamon or cinnamon flavor. Easily the worst cinnamon roll I have ever had, even worse than the one I randomly made on day on a whim. Basicslly its a spiral dinner roll with a blob of icing on top. No bueno. Shocked it was as packed as it was. Solid pass. Even the cinnabon cinnamon melts at wendys are better than this. Also bought a loaf of bread here and it was undercooked. Unbelievable. Unbelievable. Interior was very moist, smelled like yeast and was faintly translucent. The businesses in this metro are just embarassing and terrible. Wouldnt last a day in any other city. Americans cant make bread to save their lives. You can tell they tried w the interior, but this is an old strip center and not well maintained by the property owners. Cracked asphalt w potholes. Many vacant units with dirty windows and junk piled up inside. Place is not a vibe either. Just depresses your mood coming here.

If youre looking for a slice of heaven in the form of a bakery and bistro, look no further than La Casita Bakeshop! Nestled in the heart of Richardson, this locally-owned gem is an absolute delight for anyone with a love for fresh brewed coffee and tea creations, delicious pastries and a creative, delicious brunch menu. From the moment you step through the door, youre greeted with the tantalizing aroma of freshly baked goodies. The pastries are exceptional; each bite is a taste of perfection. Whether youre indulging in a flaky croissant, a heavenly cinnamon roll, or a moist muffin , you can taste the love and care that goes into every creation. But its not just the pastries that make La Casita Bakeshop stand out. Their freshly baked bagels, English muffins and breads are simply outstanding. They can be purchased individually or you can buy them pre-packaged....all baked fresh daily. Be sure to take the time to sit down and dine in the restaurant. When it comes to brunch, La Casita truly shines. Their menu is as creative as it is delicious, offering a delightful array of options to suit every taste. I personally love the Eggs Benedict its hands down the best in town! Two perfectly poached eggs on top of a toasted, home made English muffin and delicately placed over mojo pork and topped with a velvety chimichurri sauce. I have to give a shout-out to the hard working team at La Casita. Jesus, the manager, is always there to greet you warmly and wont let you leave until you have sampled a new and exciting pastry. The rest of the staff is warm, friendly and know the menu well. They have actually tasted the food and call tell you personally what you can expect. In a world of mass-produced food or big company owned restaurant chains, La Casita is a true treasure. If you havent already paid them a visit, do yourself a favor and stop by soon. Your taste buds will thank you!

Went here based on the excellent reviews. I must have caught them on an off day because my experience was not good at all. Ordered 4 different items. Tried one bite of each item and they were all stale! They were most definitely NOT fresh nor baked same day. I was very surprised because they look good and the outside and again, the reviews led me to believe it would be good in addition to the boxes that state Flaky AF. There was zero flake to their croissants, the texture of which I d expect at Starbucks, but even Starbucks was cheaper than this place. I don t mind paying for quality, but this box was returned immediately due to poor quality. The service is not the speediest either. Everyone seemed to be socializing instead of working. Definitely the first time I ve ever needed a refund at a bakery!

Its a pretty big place when you walk in. Theres a to go area to the right. To the left there are tables to dine in. I ordered the tikka masala chicken sandwich which was beyond amazing. I am not a fan of cucumbers and I left them on there and they were pickled amazingly. My friend had the chilaquiles and he devoured the whole thing. He didnt even talk thats how good it was. My other friend had the hot Nashville chicken and she couldnt get over how good it was and it didnt taste vinegary like most hot sauces do. We also ordered sweets from the bake shop. The quiche is amazingly creamy. The eclair is to die for in your mouth. It completely melts in the candy pecans on top made it even better. The croissants.. I had to take them home because I could not eat anymore, but just touching them and how flaky and soft they are made me want to eat them, but I have to wait until tomorrow. The service is undeniably great. They walk you through everything, share their opinions with you, and everybody just kind of make sure that youre doing well. I didnt take a picture of our server but I took a picture of one of the servers and he was great so I had to take a picture of him and my to-go boxes that are ridiculously not enough! This is definitely a place that you have to try at least once maybe a week. Also expect to wait. It didnt take long at all, but dont expect to be seated immediately.

If youve been hearing great things about La Casita, BELIEVE THE HYPE. I used to manage coffee shops and was so spoiled to be surrounded by their pastries everyday (my favorites were the Earl Grey Loaf, Strawberry Guava Poptart, and Cinnamon Roll). Their seasonal pastries are (almost) too pretty to eat, and taste as delicious as they look! The creativity of their pastry offerings is reflected in their coffee menu too. They arent afraid to pair interesting flavor combinations in their seasonal menu and I just love that so much! DFW is so lucky to have one of the best bakeries in the country with an amazing group of people behind it, right here in the burbs. Make a morning of it and go enjoy a weekend brunch or order a big box to share, you wont regret it! ***For those considering them as a wholesale partner, I did so much research on other bakeries before LCB was eventually available at my location and I have to say the quality that youre getting, in addition to a great price point, overnight delivery, low minimum requirement, AND they are extremely reliable is just unmatched. Always professional and ordering was so simple. Cannot recommend enough!

This is such a cool spot where you can watch the bread come to life right before your eyes. Super family-friendly, with a vibe that makes everyone feel at home. They nail the fresh, homemade bread game and their drinks are insane. It s more than just grabbing a bite it s like hanging out in a friend s kitchen. Definitely worth a visit if you re into awesome bread, good times and friendly people!

We had such a great time here this morning! Delicious food, great coffee, wonderful atmosphere, and stickers for the kids! Very kid friendly and cute sitting area to wait, or benches outside for the pastries. Even went back in after eating for some to go bagels and a loaf of bread. Will definitely be coming here every weekend.

Was excited to try this place and so glad that I did! The staff was incredibly nice and friendly and the environment was casual and upbeat. I ordered from the bakery and the person at the register was super great with helping me choose. I ordered the raspberry matcha (i usually don t like raspberry, but they convinced me to try it and it was good), the early grey scone, raspberry pistachio paris brest, the rose pistachio canele, and the parmesan pesto croissant. I didn t know they also had a restaurant, but I definitely want to come back and try it out!

Delish! Get the pork belly sandwich if it s available (menu changes) bc it s delightful and unexpected and complex! Also loved the almond croissant, which is one of my favorite pastries and I have eaten MANY in my life and this one was right up there with the best of them! Update: the food and coffee are only okay now, and the new format where they are treating half the place as a restaurant has really slowed down the efficiency. The old system where customers just got in line and ordered directly from the counter and then grabbed an open table to eat meant that people cycled through tables much faster. Now you should fully expect at least a 30+ min wait before you can even be seated, let alone order. You can t order regular food to take with you from the counter anymore, only coffee and pastries but there s only 2 tables to sit at if you are ordering at the counter. Also the coffee wasn t great, too hot and watery. And I tried a new seasonal tea that the person behind the counter recommended, and it had GLITTER in it .(which she didn t mention) This place lacks the authenticity and charm it once had and now feels like any old restaurant. Huge bummer.

The change to a restaurant process instead of walking through the line is absolutely stupid. Good food, but it makes this a waste of time. Ill come back when or if they change back to what it was.

Went in Saturday morning 3/2 around 10/10:30am and honestly the girl at the host stand was not friendly at all. She told us an hour and a half wait without any of kind apologetic tone or try to offer us to sit down at the first come first serve bar seating and grab a coffee while we wait. Hospitality is important! Offer your guests a happy alternative instead of It s an hour and a half wait, we take reservations online. Lol! We looked online and they don t take same days resos (again, fine. All establishments are different with their own policies) but she failed at being hospitable. She could have suggested we hang with some coffees, she could have suggested we try again tomorrow at a better time maybe near opening hour, even later that same day for lunch. I told her we were just in the Dallas area for the weekend so that was a shame and it was like talking to the pavement outside. I ve worked in many restaurants running FOH. I get how it works but show a little empathy with an apologetic tone and your customer or guest may just want to come back and try the food!

I ve been going to La Casita for a while now and today I was excited about grabbing brunch with my husband and the girl in the front was SUPER RUDE. All the staff is always friendly and accommodating but todays shift was pretty bad. She told us there will be an hour wait with an attitude. She typed my phone number and never got a notification about our sitting. It sucks because I really liked that place but isn t worth to drive all the way there and wait!!!
