This unmarked park is well worth the stop. You can tell how much pride the local community and supporting businesses and veteran organizations take in showing their gratitude for veterans, the fallen, and America. The sculptures are a testament to understanding the subject. The static displays are a great representation of each service and its history. Highly recommend stopping and checking it out.

Toilets: There are no public restrooms due to the fact that people had often disrespected and vandalized them so they had to lock them up.

Stopped while passing by on a road trip ~ great place to visit! We enjoyed seeing all the decommissioned equipment :) The entire display is outdoors but no bigger than a football field so just about anyone could visit! Playground: No playground equipment. Signs ask that you NOT climb on the displays, yet visitors were allowing their children to climb anyway :( PLEASE teach your children to respect rules and boundaries! Toilets: No accessible restroom during our visit. I m unsure if there are restrooms when a scheduled event occurs. Dog-friendliness: I didn t see any signs restricting dogs - just be sure to ALWAYS clean up after them ;) Picnic area: There were no picnic tables, but there is a shaded pavilion where one could picnic, or simply take a break form the sun :)

So, I this morning I had some time to kill before work. I was kind of just driving around and I came upon the Veterans Memorial Park in Port Arthur. Now, first off Im sure everyone had driven past it while driving to the Rainbow Bridge and since it is there all alone it is real easy to miss it. Well, I told myself Self, lets take a gander and off I went. There doesnt seem to be much parking but I dont think that place really gets all that packed too often. Over all it was nice. I use to be in the military myself and although I never went to fight during any war (was in the US Coast Guard) I have much respect for anyone who fought to protect my freedom. I went in the early morning and there was no one there, which I liked. I prefer to pay my respects alone. The downside to the park was that it almost felt like a ghost town. The bathrooms were as if no one had ever cleaned them. Other than that it was nice to those soldiers being remember for there thoughtless bravery. I thank them all for there service.

This park is really getting run down. I wish it was in better shape. Maybe more people would visit it. A lot of people in our society today have forgotten that people have fought and died for our freedoms. I think this is why they surrender their freedom so easily.

This is a very cool place but it appears they are not maintaining it well. Some interesting military equipment on the grounds as well as various plaques. Easy in & out off highway and parking right when you pull in. Sidewalks throughout. Worth a stop to pay tribute to those that served. Good views of the Rainbow & Memorial bridges in the distance also.

As always. Veterans Day service at the Memorial Park was outstanding. Well organized and completely enjoyable. Ever aspect of the program was awesome from the Bridge City Middle School choir, the orchestra, the Honor Guard and the Sons of the Confedracy display. Kudos to our County Commissioner Brent Weaver as well as VFW Post 4820 Bill Wells for an outstanding program. Makes a veteran feel honored. Thank you. And God Bless America.
