If I could give negative stars I would. Honestly I should ve seen the red flags from the beginning. Being told no constantly about ideas I had for my day sucked but I got what I paid for I guess. The second meeting I had with the owner she kept making comments about Mexicans being late after I told her half of my family is Hispanic. We re Guatemalan so not the same thing as Mexican. I have PTSD from my time in the military which causes a lot of memory loss so if we had phone conversations I had no proof of anything which is how she was able to charge me extra to open my bar early. I gave her my binder with my timeline day of and she said she didn t need it but because she didn t have it she rushed us into things that we ended up an hour ahead of schedule. She tried to place a note inside the bridal suite saying we needed to have everything out and cleaned by 8:30 when my party didn t even end until 10. You want me to leave my own party to clean up and get stuff out???? This note was placed randomly sometime that day because it sure wasn t there that morning and it was never communicated to me. A bridesmaid found it. She also never gave me any restrictions on music so I played music I liked to dance to and she told my DJ he can t play that even though it was no where in the contract and then came up to me and said it s to respect the venue which I wouldn t have had an issue with if it had been communicated way before my wedding and not in the middle of the party So don t book this place if you want to play your own music. But since we knew she had such a problem with Mexicans we went ahead and played some of the most vulgar music we could in Spanish so we could still enjoy our night without her bothering us about it. She kept cleaning things up and packing things away and even turning off candles 3 hours before we were ever done like we didn t have until midnight to do all that? I also wanted a very simple cake and she kept trying to add more stuff to it no matter how many times my bridal party said no. Eventually she stopped but she wants to just do whatever she wants on your wedding day and not what you want. Like I said, you get what you pay for. You pay for a cheap venue, you get cheap service. Not to mention the number of guests who came up to me asking me who she is because she was being so rude. Unless you re cool with someone else being in control and constantly telling you no about your own wedding, you should probably look at a venue elsewhere.

Beautiful venue space with a rude owner. Very disorganized. My sister called a few weeks ago to tell her we d have about 100 guests instead of the 60 they planned on. Instead of planning for the 100 she told my sister to hold off until the day of so she didn t overpay. So when all the guests showed up there weren t enough seats for the wedding party at the ceremony or at the reception which means of course there wasn t enough food. I was very disgusted at her attitude about it all. A guest at the wedding shared with me when he asked her if there would be soda she commented snarky back at him something along the lines of I dont know, you know Mexicans don t know how to plan . She walked around literally scolding guests and yanking beers out of their hands who helped themselves to the bar before the security guard showed up instead of locking up the coolers or having someone watch over the bar until the bartender or security showed up. The food line was more like a jail slop line and as you walked with your plate food was slapped on to it like you see in the movies. None of the workers were dressed for catering a wedding party. They were in sloppy house clothes and were not engaged or looking like they were enjoying themselves at all. I would absolutely never recommend having a wedding here. Plain and simple if the owner had a better attitude and listened to the brides guest count a few weeks ago maybe things would have been a lot smoother. Also if she is going to have a venue like this she should most definitely consider an attitude adjustment so her party guests and wedding party don t feel uncomfortable. Customer service is so important.

I had my wedding last weekend at Texas relay station event center and I can t say how much I loved it! Super affordable and easy to work with. They were able to do the catering and bartending! Sandra was very helpful and her and her team did all the set up and take down. She gave me a list of different vendors that we can use which made it very stress free. They have a ginormous room full of decorations that you can chose from and they will decorate everything for you! 10/10 recommend!! Thank you guys!

Ms Sandra and her staff made our wedding day one well relive and remember for years to come. This venue was perfect for our rustic theme. The barn hall was large and comfortably sat our guests with plenty of room to walk, dance and congregate. Ms Sandra was transparent, personable, thorough, organized and practical. Needless to say, the entire process, from booking to our event, flowed effortlessly. This is a perfect venue for a DIYer to bring their Pinterest boards to life, but it can easily be turned into an all-inclusive event with all the many services Ms Sandra offered like catering, cleaning and decorating to name a few. I think the only thing Ms Sandra didnt do was dj and officiate our wedding. lol She did such an amazing job communicating and keeping stress down! We cant thank her enough. The minor things that we didnt even consider (like capturing certain moments or rehearsals) she brought to our attention ahead of time so we would be prepared. Its details like that we valued moreso because we came to the venue on the day of the wedding feeling prepared and not the least bit overwhelmed. Its one thing to do what you enjoy, but to enjoy what you do is another. It shows that Ms Sandra enjoys what she does and is truly gifted at it. She went above and beyond to make sure our big day was joy-filled and memorable. We will be bragging about her for years to come.

My daughter was married here last Friday. Let me say that Sandra is all about saving you money while giving you a beautiful event. I ve never dealt with a venue that has as many options as this venue. You can do it all yourself or pay them which is very reasonably priced. They have a decoration room loaded with options for a flat fee. Sandra is easy to work with and has a lot of creative ideas about the whole process. Her experience helped to make the whole day run smoothly. We enjoyed this beautiful venue and would highly recommend it especially if you are on a budget and want a beautiful wedding.

This venue is perfect for a dyi or semi dyi wedding. The beautiful reception room is all wood and really makes a statement. It is rustic, leaning to country rustic but everything is really natural looking which we loved. Sandra, the owner was great at communicating throughout the process. The food was wonderful and I m still not sure how she kept the CFS hot and crispy. We got lots of compliments on the food. I can t say enough about how beautiful the wedding was and what a wonderful experience we had. Sandra has a lot of experience and had great ideas about every aspect of the wedding.

This is a direct response to the venue owners response to a review from a wedding at her venue on 10-23-21. First- that day it did not flood, yes it rained for maybe 30 mins. At 3 p.m. the hired help arrived the sun was shining and the ground was dry by 5:45 15 mins before the ceremony began all signs of previous rain was gone. Not an excuse to not display lawn decor as previously agreed upon or the farmhouse white paned windows hung from back of pagoda. Also all signs could have been displayed in ceremony space as directed. Welcome sign was not placed out as requested which no excuse for. A fall pumpkin display was in front of venue that was from a previous wedding that did not go with the victorian steampunk theme and not approved by bride. Pure laziness. Dessert table ran out of plates and forks despite bride purchasing plenty, they were hidden behind the incredibly messy bar instead of being put out with the dessert table. Additionally guest book was moved from the photobooth area despite it being a photo guestbook. The theme was Victorian steampunk so the pages torn out of a book and taped together for a table runner was the vibe the couple was going for. Just because you didnt like it does not mean the bride is a bridezilla . It is grossly inappropriate to speak on the grooms physical limitations especially since it is service related. Talk about incredibly ugly behavior! Sandra you are unprofessional and provide very inappropriate customer service. Especially corolating being Christian with being a nice person. Yes the KJ was amazing but the bride and groom also had a team of photographers and a videographer and they are considered vendors. Which they did help with coordinating since you did not when you specifically said you would during the rehearsal so clearly you dont understand what that means. Multiple times you went back on what you said despite notes saying otherwise so perhaps you are starting to experience memory problems and it may be time to pass on the reigns. You have spread yourself too thin. This is definitely proof of that.

Disclaimer I was a guest and not the contract holder Disclaimer 2 I am in the service industry and have been for 30 years. There are two topics that you see in the reviews and in the responses to the reviews. Those topics are Rustic and DIY. Rustic here means unfinished and DIY means lack of support. The venue looks nice if you are into Texas cowboy bunkhouse. There is a pond and an open lawn area. I didn t see aeration on the pond so you may have mosquitoes. The parking lot is quite a way from the hall. There is some close parking but only for 6-8 cars. The parking lot and road is dirt and gravel. This will ruin shoes and dark clothes. The road is rough so be careful you do not twist an ankle. Maybe you can hire a valet to move the cars and save your guests a big dry cleaning bill. The lawn while cut was very rough. I suggest walking around to find the holes. The venue is located near a major road so you will have truck noises on your video if you have the ceremony outside. Inside the venue is stated to be 50 x75 and seats up to 250. That is 3750 sq ft I wouldn t want 250 people in such a small space during regular flu season, certainly not during COVID The venue does not appear to be ADA compliant, but you will need to consult your lawyer to be sure. The men s restroom has one narrow stall and one urinal. It is tight and not well lit. From reports from my female friends, it looks like they squeezed three stalls in the space of two. So, if you have a disabled Veteran or elderly guest, they will have a difficult to impossible time using the facilities. Also, if you have a big dress on, you will have difficulty using the facilities. Next topic is DIY and boy do they mean it. If you decide to pursue this for your event, make sure you discuss what they will and will not provide. Do this very specifically and in detail. Then make sure you document everything. I very much suggest that you designate someone who is not in the wedding party as a troubleshooter and coordinator. If that person has prior military experience, so much the better. Let the owners know that this person is your representative, so the owners don t dismiss them. It was required that the guests break down and store the chairs used for the ceremony. Another thing to discuss with your lawyer is whose liability insurance covers this. While we are guests, we are moving the venue s equipment on the venue s property.. I assume that the catering was done by the venue. Rustic falls into this category also as the people serving were not dressed to impress. T-shirts and jeans seemed to be the theme. The brisket was overdone. The beans out of a costco can. Not a happy face in the bunch. Make sure you warn the photographer not to have them in the background. A grumpy face can ruin a picture. There was an off duty police officer onsite. This was a dry wedding. Maybe it is a Grimes County requirement or it could just be a venue thing. I also assume this cost would be borne by the party and not the venue. DIY Then everyone disappeared and one of the bridesmaids ended up cutting and serving the cake. DIY. End of the night I found out we had to be there for 7am to pick up everything. DIY. So to conclude, buyer beware. This venue is slightly better than doing the event in your back yard but it is up to you to make things go well, they will not. All of those pictures on the website and Facebook are showing what the hard work of others can do with the space not anything you get from the venue owners as they freely admit in the response to other reviews. Everything good was by them, every thing bad was due to the friends and relatives of the party. With the base cost of the hall, any extras to bring the service up to par, cost of security and your lawyer s consultation fee, I suggest you check out something else. The Airbnb I stayed at said there were 20 venues in the area. You should be able to do better than here.

Wow, and not in a good way. The Host was all over us on rehearsal on how she wanted everything to be done like it was her wedding. Bride and Groom stated they would hire a coordinator for the day of the wedding and were told thats what the host was there for, yet when the service started the host was nowhere to be found. Our rehearsal was in August for a wedding in October so a few things werent remembered. The DJ wasnt allowed to use Wi-Fi to stream music for the service, cell service sucks so that was fun, the groom had to setup a Wi-Fi hot spot for the DJ, apparently you need T-Mobile to do anything. Groomsmen were told to pack up all the outside chairs for the venue after the service delaying the reception... Apparently this was known to some beforehand but really? Pictures are quite deceiving, mens room had a urinal that was barely working and stained to hell, one stall where the door hits whoever is standing at the urinal and another stall full of boxes with no door. All of the cleanliness issue we brought up during the rehearsal were stated it was off season and they would be handled prior to the wedding, they werent. I doubt the health and safety measures listed on the site were maintained, no masks/gloves used when dealing with catering, etc. Food was decent, but both Rudys and Dickies are better. None of the servers, including the children... were dressed for a wedding. As soon as they were done the bridal party had to pack up any left over food. Host seemed homophobic, we had a Bridesman as a part of the bridal party walking down the isle with a Groomsman, the host made quite a few back ended comments to the bridal party about. Unfortunately google reviews requires me to leave one star or I would leave 0.

I was the minister for a wedding at this venue last weekend, and the behavior of the proprietor was shockingly unprofessional. My first experience with her was at the rehearsal, where she pushed everyone out of the reception hall save myself, the bride and the groom onto the back porch and into the heat - including my wife, who she dismissed like a child and told to wait outside while we discussed logistics. The woman acted as though this were HER wedding and kept pushing the bride into this or that procedure. We performed a non-Christian ceremony and it was clear from the beginning that the proprietor was uncomfortable with this. If your personal beliefs preclude you from hosting non-Christian weddings, thats fine - but I would say dont take their money and direct them to a different venue rather than casting creepy looks and making judgmental comments during the rehearsal and setup. On the day of the wedding, the front door of the venue was left closed, with a padlock on it. Although on further inspection the lock was open...why leave it on and give people approaching the impression that the venue was closed? This confused the cake vendor and many guests. I did not personally see the proprietor at all on the day, until after the ceremony. She came out only to take a quick promotional photo with her phone to put on her Facebook page - without the consent of some of the wedding party including myself. She then disappeared until the food was being served. During the reception, the proprietor served the food dressed in inappropriately casual clothing. She ordered around the groomsmen like they were her employees. The groomsmen where told to put away the chairs in the time between the ceremony and reception. I was told they had agreed to this beforehand - but its still an odd thing for a wedding venue to ask. The bathroom facilities in the main barn area were dirty and very poorly lit. The food was middling to poor and appeared to have been prepared the previous day and simply reheated. All in all, this venue is poorly managed by a rude woman who I believe overextended herself, and her customer service suffered greatly because of it. She caused unnecessary stress for the bride and groom before, during and after the ceremony with the way she conducted herself. I very much DO NOT recommend this business for anyone elses events and I certainly will not officiate there again.

This venue has great potential but it NEEDS to be cleaned. The back of the bar is disgusting. They have a fridge that they use for the parties that is rusted and falling apart. It also leaks all over the floor. In our experience Sandra didn t show up until 15 min before the bridal party showed up. Luckily my sister and I were there to set things up. We tried to call and text but she didn t answer. The bride was so stressed out. I ended having to do a lot of setting up and directing because Sandra wasn t there. A lot of people I was the wedding coordinator. It was super unprofessional. Staff was also very rude and not welcoming. The servers for buffet wore sweatshirts and jeans. Also very unprofessional. Another thing. Look at the replies to some of these reviews. Whoever is responding is blaming the guests for their bad experiences. There should never be a clap back by the owner ESPECIALLY on Google review. That is incredibly tacky and again, unprofessional. Be better or get a job that you enjoy because if you are that upset by the reviews and aren t taking criticism by your customers your business will continue to fail.

The decoration room is abundant in selection and helps save a ton of money. The tables in the venue are gorgeous and do not need decorations as they are stunning themselves. I have been to couple weddings at this venue and I have never been disappointed. The time the owners put into the venue shows they take pride in their work. The owner has a talent for decorating as it has been a treat to see the room alive each time Ive attended. I appreciate respect and quality and it is t this venue.

Groomsmen room smelled like a swelling septic tank. Owner was rude and tried to end the celebration before rental was up and was very invasive. An example being that I dont typically expect a hotel owner to be in the room with me when I spend a night at a hotel. I also dont expect a venue owner to push and shove herself into every facet of the event, and show up in the background of pictures glaring at guests. Plus her kids/grandkids were yelling and playing in the venue during the event. And their parents yelling at them very odd.

This place was an unexpected find. Well off the beaten path, but well worth the drive. My wife and I were having coffee and wondering what we could do. I saw an event at a winery. We are in Houston, about an hours drive. So, we did our chores and drove to the winery. We were very disappointed in it. So we left,,,,, still hungry. Within a couple of miles we saw the relay station, and thought what the heck. The place isnt much to look at. The inside was very rustic. Only one waitress. She was busy pouring up tea for another party. She told us to sit down and she would be with us in a minute. Now, some people might be taken aback by being talked to that way by a waitress, but I kinda like that informality. I ordered the hamburger steak, fried ocra and mashed potatoes. I got hamburger steak, fried ocra and Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese was very good, so I asked for a side of mashed potatoes and an my wife and I shared it. They were very good. Everything was very good. My wife asked for a Corona with a Lime. Our waitress said she didnt have a lime, but she had lemons and they are cousins so its about the same. I loved that explaination. Everything about this place screams out homey, the waitress, the food, even the other customers. In the interest of time, I skipped the general attitude of The place, but its good. Its an hours drive for us to get there, but as we will be back. Please try this place, you wont be disappointed.

My husband and I operate a DJ business on the side called Rockin DJ Services and we have the unique opportunity to service weddings within venues all over Houston, Spring, Magnolia, Woodlands, etc. In doing so, we experience these venues from the vender perspective rather than the customer perspective which, SHOULD BE a parallel experience since venues need happy vendors just as much as they need happy customers...right? Unfortunately, this logic is lost on some. Relay Station Event Center is VERY remote and VERY rustic. Once inside we found it to be quaint, kitsch and clean. The ponds and water features add to the ambiance and lend themselves to excellent photo ops for your photographer. The food was delicious and the wedding went off without a hitch because we are consummate professionals and do not reflect to OUR customer the reception we have received by the venue, which coincidentally began upon our arrival. We located the owner, introduced ourselves and asked where to set up. We were told to set up in two locations. Inside for the reception and outside for the ceremony. Having only one system, (again, this is a side gig for us) we explained we would set up inside and roll one of our dual 15 inch 1000 watt speakers outside to easily project the music for the ceremony. This did not set well with the owner as she seemed astounded that we only had one system. What do you mean you only have one system? Every DJ Ive ever used has had two systems. Well lady, now you can say you have met the sasquatch of DJs as we have only one system and its powerful as hell so maybe try being helpful instead of condescending. SO, we were left to figure out how to make it work, which we did and the ceremony went beautifully. Right before the reception began she approached me and told me to make an announcement on the microphone that... The only smoking area on the property was at the picnic tables and it would be a shame if the bride and groom lost their deposit and had to come back on Sunday to pick up cigarette butts. Now, I am totally fine with allowing family to make announcements as a part of our service and I will assist other vendors with polite requests that keep the crowd informed and direct the flow of the event. I draw the line at threatening people with my voice, over my microphone, in the coarse of conducting MY business. Music makes the Memory...it is CRITICAL that the romance, the tradition, the emotional integrity of the event be ATTAINED and then MAINTAINED by the DJ from the moment we plug in until the moment we unplug. Against my better judgement, I indulged this woman and tweaked her message to gently remind guests of the smoking areas, bathrooms, cold water bottles, bar, etc. This was apparently not enough as she was displeased at the excessive smoking activity and twice more came to me for an explanation. Tell them again. They are smoking out there right now. They are smoking everywhere! Tell them several times. My recourse by then was to announce I have again been asked to direct smokers to the picnic area please. I left it at that and never mentioned it again. I doubt anyone paid attention and it is very likely there were cigarette butts to be collected on Sunday. The families, guests, bride & groom, bartenders, photographers and even police officers were incredibly kind, VERY complimentary and helpful. The owner never thanked us or spoke to us again as we packed up and left. Here is the lesson: DJs are professionals and wedding DJs work especially hard, spend many hours and many dollars to deliver a great performance. We work for our customer, not your venue. Please treat us with the dignity and respect that we treat your property when we are there. And by the way, your screen was not in the window when we arrived, as I brought to your attention, and we left it the way we found it. Thank you.

My son and his wife were married at the Texas Relay Station Event Center on Sept. 7, 2019 and it was a wonderful experience! Sandra and her team go above and beyond to help with all your needs and request. We actually had the rehearsal then walked across the drive-way for dinner at the restaurant and they catered the reception. The food for both was amazing! It is a great venue for the money! Everyone thought everything was beautiful and we would highly recommend this venue!

We had our daughter wedding there in late October. Sandra and her staff were very helpful in arranging this event on VERY short notice. The groom is in the Army and had just gotten his orders and we only had 2 1/2 weeks to plan. Sandra helped keep things running smoothly and we all left the Relay station very happy. From start to finish this was a very pleasant experience I, gladly , will never do again! I only have 1 daughter. LOL But if you have a daughter and the rustic look is what you re after, this is the place.

My sons wedding was this weekend and we could not be happier. They came through on everything. It was decorated just the way they wanted it, the food was great. Sandra was like having your own coordinator. We loved that pictures were done before the wedding so guests didnt have to wait around for along time. This gave the photographer lots of time to get the pictures. No rushing They do a private first look for the bride and groom, which my son said really helped. They got their private moment to see each other all decked without the stress of everyone watching.. Loved the cabins for the bride and bridesmaid and the one one for the groom and groomsmen. The photographer and DJ they recommend were great. My son and his new wife told us this day was perfect. Even better then they hoped

On behalf of my sisters and I, we would love to thank Sandra and the Relay Station Event Center for a beautiful and successful benefit on Aug 25 for our moms chemo fund raiser. The hall was the perfect rustic setting for all of her friends and family to gather together and enjoy each others company. Sandra made sure that everything was perfect. She and her daughter came to check on the meal that was catered by the Relay Station throughout the evening, making sure that there was plenty of food at all times for everyone to eat. I highly recommend using the Event Center.

No wedding planner has a section entitled, What to do when are area wide power outage encompasses EVERY aspect of your wedding day. The Event Center was in contact with us throughout the day and bent over backwards to give our children the Wedding Day they had been planning. They shut down their restaurant to provide the catering for the wedding. They rented/borrowed generators so that there was running water (toilets) and A/C in the reception hall. That morning we were already going to give them a 5 star rating because their suggestions to us for bartender and DJ, as well as their set up of the venue, was exactly what the bride and groom had wanted. Who knew they were going to go the extra mile to assure that everything continued as planned. There was never a point where the staff at the venue did not work with us. Different personalities react differently to each other. We will recommend the Event Center to others in the area as a great choice for your wedding venue and catering needs.

My sister had her wedding here a few months ago, and I wish I could recommend this place. Im sure the price is budget friendly, but if you want to constantly be harassed and have your guests be harassed then this is the right place for you. I truly wish I could say that terrible customer service was my only issue, but there were quite a few more. The banquet hall is a great size, the rustic tables are beautiful, good sized bathrooms, and food was decent. The banquet hall is the best part, and I thought the groom and bridal suite houses was a great addition.... until I walked in. I understand the feel is rustic and a little dirt never hurt anyone... a little dirt... only when you walk into the bridal suite (where we spent most of our time) there were false eyelashes stuck on the bed spread, dust/dirt/cobwebs all over the place, a wasps nest on the porch, cockroaches dead in the bath tub, 2 or 3 broken windows (with the glass still shattered on the ground) and no where to hang up the dresses. Their parking arrangement definitely needs some rethinking!! During the day they had their beautiful horses out, which I thought added a beautiful touch to the rustic feel of the wedding and would look great in the background of photos and videos, only before the event they moved the horses, and the horse area become the parking area; which resulted in having a bunch of cars in all the photos and videos. Again, the banquet/dinner area is great, but I would not wish the stress or annoyance that comes with it on any bride!

Because of a work change the wedding needed to be moved back. We had already paid over 600 dollars. Instead of refunding the money or working with me she was RUDE and stated the money was nonrefundable!!!!! Do not use this place. Horrible customer service and will not work with you. Do not let this lady ruin your experience planning your beautiful day. I will do my best to get the word out there so this does not happen to anyone else.
